My e-Tron is just over 3 years old. Its been an amazing electric vehicle. They are maintenance-free. I've owned many cars and this Audi e-Tron (with it's air suspension) is the most comfortable riding vehicle I've owned. IMO, the fit and finish far exceed the other electric vehicles. It is a solid vehicle. The only downside for me is the 200-mile range. I wished it were more.
I know it can be a double edged sword at times, but seeing both Kyle and Alissa’s parents and Kyle’s grandmother makes viewers feel more like you and your families are part of our lives, even though we may never actually meet. I did tell Kyle’s father when he went to Florida that if I had known he was stopping in Richmond to use the DC charger I’d have taken him to dinner! Love watching your road trips too!
If you hold down on some menu options (charging for example) you can set them as shortcuts on the lower screen, so you don't have to deep dive everytime.
What do you have your Custom drive mode set to? E-tron uses different maps for ride height adjustment depending on the drive mode. Efficiency mode drops ride height to the lowest level at 50 mph and keep it there as long as you stay above 22 mph, Dynamic doesn't drop the car to the lowest level until 88 mph and will raise it back up below 68 mph. Just need to shift to D or S once in Efficiency mode or it locks out power beyond 80% behind the kickdown switch. But Efficiency mode is too soft for US roads and you will hit bump stops on big highway dips. So Dynamic gets you the best overall efficiency without being too stiff. Auto will eventually drop the ride height down to the baseline Dynamic level but not until 75 mph and will raise it back up below 44 mph.
You can add shortcuts to most settings by long pressing the button, like the Charging menu, to display SOC %. (Unfortunately, this doesn’t work on MY21 and later, but it should work on yours!) Another tip is to turn off the car with the Start/Stop button _before_ you open the door. It will then bring up the Climate and Charging menu, and let you start the cooling/heating with one press. It will run for 30 minutes down to 20% SOC. A bit conservative, but when DC fast charging, it will now run for 60 minutes. Regardless of SOC. *IMPORTANT!* You must turn off the car to be able to start charging. Can this explain the trouble you experienced?
Great video! I've enjoyed my 2021 e-tron Premium Plus now for a little over a year. You keep noting around 200 miles of range on a full charge. When the 2021 models came out, Audi had done a software update that gave the e-tron about 220 miles and, just this year, another software update by Audi gave me around 240. As far as I know, there've been no actual changes to the size of the battery pack since 2019, just the software updates allowing more of the battery pack to be used. I was just wondering if your e-tron has had those updates? Seems they would've automatically done them at the dealership you bought it at, if possible in the 2019. Just something to check into since you could get a decent increase in range.
The e-tron is a great road trip car. Supremely comfortable, plenty of space for people and stuff and also a flat DC fast charging curve which lasts forever.
There are a couple of the rest stops on the Jersey turnpike going south that are under construction, both of which have chargers including Tesla chargers.
Kyle we have the signet box chargers in Columbus Ohio. When I got my leaf in 2015 those blink level 2 and chargepoint at Walgreens is all we had then ev go came in and installed 4 units at AAA in 2016, 2019 1st and only ea station 2022 ev go 100 kw units chademo to 350 kwh ccs .
I would seriously get your MIL a better charger. There are stories of fires from cheap amazon and eBay EVSEs that will on the sticker say 40AMP but the chips are misconfigured and the EVSE pulls 50 or 60 and that's why they are hot. You can literally melt your charging port. Please buy her a good EVSE before it breaks. I am a fellow ID.4 owner Pro S. I bought my ID.4 based on some of your videos huge fan. Hope to run into you in the PHX area when you are charging some day.

Most of the rest areas on I95 in Connecticut now have Green Apple Electric 150 chargers. They must be relatively new because they are not listed in Plug Share, ABRP, or Chargeway. Green apple electric has plans to expand their charging network to rest areas throughout New York and New Jersey.
The problem for many of us is that DC Fast Chargers are far apart in certain places, there aren't really enough, and many of the chargers are down. The 350 kW seem to be down way too often. Really need 250+ miles. Better to have 350+.
I just got my EV6 GT Line a week ago and have been itching to take a road trip. Unfortunately I am on call till tonight. Thanks for the video to curb my road trip appetite for a few days 😀

I really enjoy these videos and I know when I venture out in my Bolt, which I know will be a little ponderous, I’ll know what I’m doing. We drive from Atlanta to NY regularly but we never take the I95 corridor. I agree that it sucks. We take 81 and 78 but that would be much longer if you were going to NC. I haven’t done it yet but I see a lot of chargers along 81 and this will improve dramatically when Tesla fully opens up their network.

Really unfortunate to see stranded DCFC assets. Should just make them free if they don’t have connectivity and are fairly low power. It’s especially unfortunate that 120A units are dead and somehow EVgo still operates 100A stations that are so much larger…
At 17:30 there appears to be a different looking plug as an option on the Joyce Kilmer service area EVGO station. Can anyone tell what that was? It looked like a Tesla connector. Edit: PlugShare says it’s a Tesla connector. That’s cool to see on a non-Tesla station. Less useful with a supercharger right there, but a good model for other places.
The third parties usually use a hidden chademo to tesla adapter, which limits it to 50kw. There is pretty much no other way to use a tesla connector as a third party.

That is all the car you will ever need! Personally aligned to BMW (I have 3!!) Just cannot help it!!! 😂 Damn! Those Germans know how to suck us all in!!
I really don't understand why they put the charge port on the side of the car instead of the front, considering that's where many of the chargers are when you pull up to one.
