This makes me think that either the gods truly trust Jack's ability so they only gave him a gi and a sword, or they just didn't give a crap to give him more buffs and surprised with the outcome.
Jack trained from the best Warriors and cultures the world has known since he was a child. When in the future, he trained even more to go into near super Human ability (Learning to Jump Good, for example) and fight machines of exceptional speed, durability and stopping power.
Jack's father is a level 50 character with full end game equipment. While Jack is a level 120 character with only one end game weapon and has thousands of hours of gameplay under his belt.
"Why didn't we get a battle like this for the finale?" Well, we did, actually. Think about it. The heroic spirit of one man and this sword alone was not enough to defeat Aku. Jack had spent 50 years using this blade that was forged only to do good, and he only ever used it for that purpose until he lost his hope and way eventually. When he was restored and worthy to wield this blade again, he now had allies in the form of all those he had saved using this sword whom without he would have never been able to defeat Aku. Even Ashi, Aku's daughter, was changed by Jack, and she was the key to finally returning to the past. We think it's sad that the future seems to be gone, but it clearly existed as it was all for that moment to finally stop Aku once and for all. The sword's purpose for being forged is very important and a key theme to understanding why Jack finally finished what his father couldn't yet.

Mr.awesome Reacts I mean yeah in the context of the fight it made sense how it went. But it as still super anti climactic. The story should have been written where a proper confrontation could be had between jack and aku. Both with words and a badass fight.
Man I would love to see more of The Emperor, and his backstory. Granted it’s probably not as epic as Jack. But we do see how Jack became the man he is from him
Jack’s father really is such a well crafted and fleshed out character. He really embodies great wisdom, fortitude, grit, and more that comes from a great leader/emperor. Also his facial expression when he remembered his wife screaming. Whoa! *Made my spine tingle* Also I really enjoyed the choreography put into the scene’s animation with Jack’s father riding the cloud and darting around Aku like a fly with many evasive maneuvers. The horseback riding, showing how well trained he is on horseback. Also the sword clanging with the strikes just hurting Aku with each hit :) There is also Aku with his early developed laugh as overly confident he cannot be harmed. Then his fits of infuriated rage were delivered so well by Mako in this encounter here. This series is a masterpiece of animation and deeply creative imagination from Genndy Tartakovsky with his assimilated team. Stupendous work!
Aku is arguably the most op villain in a kids show, neigh impervious, immortal has the ability to alter his form shape and size, can multiple and has laser vision I mean what more could you ask for lol
Bill Cipher is even more OP, he's an evil divine lovecraftian entity from another dimension, capable of destroying galaxies with a thought. He would crush Aku like a bug.
Imagine this is aku in his prime i have a feeling Jack's father weakened aku significantly beyond full recovery and that's why Jack is able to beat him easily even in the future.
Not really. Aku had 1000s of years ago after this fight before Jack fought him agyears4 Jack was also beyond Human as an adult. Jacks father was trained in a single fighting style, while jack mastered literally all fighting styles of the world from his time, and then continuously fought super robots and demons for 50 years, learned tricks like "Jump Good". Jack was not just a jack of all trades, he was a master of all. While Jack's father was a master of one.
No Aku Was new back then Aku was just as dangerous, arguably more in the future For Jack who fought him countless times, he simply gained the experience to anticipate how to fight him, with skill and strategy as besides his prowess, Jack Is an ordinary human Jack’s father was a seasoned Daimyo when he was given the Sword, and was included armor and a nimbus, and came close to defeat Aku
@@CoffeeSuccubus Well its not like they needed to make Jack return to the past at the exact same moment he left. They could have made him return some time after that when Aku was at full power again and have Jack and Aku have a battle like this in his city and show him save his parents and people.
CyberLance26 I can only assume that since Ashi had no idea when they were going, Jack had to choose for them. It makes the most sense for Jack to choose to go back and fight Aku when Aku is already severely weakened
Made me wish that the series will end with an epilogue episode that took place in an Aku-less future where remnants of Aku's forces attempted to revive him (I mean, you can't permanently stop evil itself), only to be stopped by the Scotsman and Jack's descendant. I guess it would be a better payoff since the future is kinda forgotten after Aku's defeat. I know that the future will ceased to exist like Ashi but at least show a glimpse of the future without Aku.
KrystCyclone just because aku was destroyed doesn’t mean Jack can age the first time travel affected his ability to age so basically Jack can’t die from age which means it would still be Jack and the Scotsman
@@Wiiware2568 yeah but it wasn't the only thing about him that made him awesome. The first few episodes of the show where he was introduced he was basically introduced as a vile evil sadistic demon. Over the course of the episodes and seasons he started to become less evil and more about just fucking around with Jack and making snarky little jokes. In this episode and the episode where he returns years later he was an evil son of a bitch that killed people and just felt like torturing Jack.
@@madmanwebster94 I guess it's the fact that Aku had technically won in the past, and many years of ruling the world without anyone that could actually represent a threat to him changed Aku's personality, he has it all so therefore he doesn't care about anything and the world already fears him so he doesn't have to act like a literal monster, he just doesn't care anymore, unless it is related to Jack.

Imagine yourself in Aku place. You are immortal being that can’t be harmed by any weapon. No wonder why he found humor as way to make life less boring
Damn how many enchantments does that sword have

Behind every badass protagonist is an even more badass father.
Just look at Goku and Bardock.
I don’t even watch Naruto and I know his dad was a badass.
Ichigo’s Dad was a shinigami before he became a father, saving the women he would eventually marry.
Truly awesome, all of them

2:20 he screamed because he glitched for a second
I just noticed but at 3:19 Aku’s thunderous footsteps perfectly synchronized along the music
Sadly, this was way more epic and satisfying than the series finale's "final fight".
Fred the fish from Spongebob Aku wasn’t prepared for the fight so he attempted to run away before Jack killed him.
Aku was already defeated when Jack killed him, since Jack traveled back to the time exactly after he had just defeated Aku.
lmao I honestly thought after the time skip the Sa Moh Rah i trained to become a real samurai and that he would appear to help Jack alongidr the other filler characters like Scotman n the Super Jump Monkeys
@@localdude2979 Not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping for that too..
Mr.awesome Reacts I mean yeah in the context of the fight it made sense how it went. But it as still super anti climactic. The story should have been written where a proper confrontation could be had between jack and aku. Both with words and a badass fight.
1:25 Aku: So the only thing on Earth that can kill me is that sword... good to know! Be a shame if something were to happen to it!
The opening is so badass. You can really see why samurai jack is one of the best cartoons out there.
Man I would love to see more of The Emperor, and his backstory. Granted it’s probably not as epic as Jack.
But we do see how Jack became the man he is from him
This is how action in cinematography is supposed to look like. Absolutely brialliant.
3:30 Jesus these animators didnt slack off on these combat scenes
2 things I loved about this episode.
Aku looking at Jack's father upside down at 1:14 and Aku's BAAH! 1:25
Bardock flying on Nimbus (colorized)
There is so much Heroism in Jack's father espically when he was riding the nimbus cloud.
The season 5 final fight should’ve been similar to this
1:34
When you're trying to kill the fly
For him it’s like that
bruh i didnt mean to steal this joke
2:53
Jack’s father really is such a well crafted and fleshed out character.
He really embodies great wisdom, fortitude, grit, and more that comes from a great leader/emperor.
Also his facial expression when he remembered his wife screaming. Whoa! *Made my spine tingle*
Also I really enjoyed the choreography put into the scene’s animation with Jack’s father riding the cloud and darting around Aku like a fly with many evasive maneuvers. The horseback riding, showing how well trained he is on horseback. Also the sword clanging with the strikes just hurting Aku with each hit :)
There is also Aku with his early developed laugh as overly confident he cannot be harmed. Then his fits of infuriated rage were delivered so well by Mako in this encounter here.
This series is a masterpiece of animation and deeply creative imagination from Genndy Tartakovsky with his assimilated team. Stupendous work!
Could you imagine how well off Jack's dad would be if he too could jump good?
3:00 The way Aku looks down at the Samurai menacingly is top tier cartoon moment - I love it so much!
4:20 it was at this moment that he knew...
To be fair he could have cut Aku many times while he was flying but instead he was flexing.
He sure did a whole lot of swirling around akus body instead of attacking him at first.
Gotta show off a little first.
It's called carefully planning when to attack, because Aku cannot be defeated by spamming attacks alone.
Jack has a lot of qualities that his father had even the way jack spoke resembles his fathers speech
Forgot how truly awesome a villain Aku is, this clip is brilliant!
Aku for Smash Bros!
3:30 When the boss catches you in an attack pattern and your only option is to try to parry every hit
That is one incredibly brave horse. Agile, obedient, and willing to follow his emperor into death.
Even if the fight hasn't started yet, 0:17-0:35 is my favorite pre-battle lead-up in the series.
Way more epic than the Season 5 finale.
Drannion Entertainment sadly, this is true.
Well the season 5 finale was kind of just a wrap up of the battle samurai jack had with aku in season one so it would be as epic
Drannion Entertainment no way
Yeah I was very disappointed that we never got a battle with aku and jack like this one if you can call what we got a "final battle".

Imagine this is aku in his prime i have a feeling Jack's father weakened aku significantly beyond full recovery and that's why Jack is able to beat him easily even in the future.
Not really. Aku had 1000s of years ago after this fight before Jack fought him agyears4
Jack was also beyond Human as an adult.
No Aku
Was new back then
Aku was just as dangerous, arguably more in the future
For Jack who fought him countless times, he simply gained the experience to anticipate how to fight him, with skill and strategy as besides his prowess, Jack Is an ordinary human
Jack’s father was a seasoned Daimyo when he was given the Sword, and was included armor and a nimbus, and came close to defeat Aku
Why couldn't Jack's final battle with Aku be more like this?? Instead it was incredibly anti-climatic.
Because
It
Because tbe first episode was like this.
Jack came back at the very end where aku was very weak
@@CoffeeSuccubus Well its not like they needed to make Jack return to the past at the exact same moment he left.
They could have made him return some time after that when Aku was at full power again and have Jack and Aku have a battle like this in his city and show him save his parents and people.
CyberLance26 I can only assume that since Ashi had no idea when they were going, Jack had to choose for them. It makes the most sense for Jack to choose to go back and fight Aku when Aku is already severely weakened

This is still hands down the best fight in the series.
Mf had his own Nimbus holy shit.. If he had the Spirit Bomb as an additional power he should've won.
When this one episode was a better climax than the actual series finale
"I'm going to destroy you!!"
Aku: . . . .
BLAH!
At first I read this as Father Jack versus Aku. Now that would be interesting...
Long ago in a distant land, I jack the destroyer of Aku ruled after my father, but i know aku will appear once again in the future......
So jacks a preacher instead of a samurai?
Back when Aku was actually a scary sinister villain and not some smart-ass that literally stays home all day complaining about a guy named Jack.
Aku always has a sense of humor even in the original show. Wtf are you talking about?
@@Wiiware2568 yeah but it wasn't the only thing about him that made him awesome. The first few episodes of the show where he was introduced he was basically introduced as a vile evil sadistic demon. Over the course of the episodes and seasons he started to become less evil and more about just fucking around with Jack and making snarky little jokes. In this episode and the episode where he returns years later he was an evil son of a bitch that killed people and just felt like torturing Jack.
Aku in season 5 feels like such a miss opportunity, goofy is fine but he's just a stupid clown.
@@kushkungvivo744 Considering how dark the other main villains of the season (the Cult of Aku) are, it was probably for the best.
Honestly, this was my favorite fight of the series. No disrespect to Jack, but his dad was super outclassed fight wise but used superior tactics to win.
"What type of insect is this" Mood
1:29 me looking at the last nuggie
Honestly me
When Jack's Father has a better final battle vs Aku than Jack in the final season
I've always LOVED Aku's eye beams!!! The way they have to charge up for a sec and it isn't super obvious, it's like "Wait what's happening his eyes just started to gl... OH SHIT!" 😆😆
Two fathers fighting.
Basically how it goes every time my parents and in laws meet
Aku’s no father yet
Aku every 5 seconds: “AAHHHHHH!!!”
"Have you learn nothing? Your mortal blade can not harm me... AAAAAHHH!!!" lol
3:12 BotW final boss in a nutshell
"It's purpose is to destroy YOU"
"BYAAAHHH!!!!!!"

Then cut the scream to it's funny
1:09 - Aku is all "That's going to leave a mark."
"Its purpose is DESTROY YOU"
Aku: "Angry noise"
Jack's father had his own nimbus cloud!
2:52 I love this moment where Aku turns into an Octopus at first before settling on a spider. He's thinking on the fly and not making calm calculated decisions now.
Without a doubt the series’ best episode.
I see where Jack got his badass genes from.
aku screaming is my spirit animal
The animation is remarkable even when rewatching it in 2020
1:29 His face lol 😂
jacks father is so badass 🔥
Dude is like some mystical hero yet his son is just a plain guy in a robe
At first
He was gifted the nimbus and armor from the gods
I do think the fact that he monologued about the sword definitely made jacks job harder.
Aku: No mortal blade can harm me!
Gods: what if its magic
Aku: well...
The fact that Aku can quickly regenerate, shape shift, multiply makes it so hard to kill him.
Really? _Really!?_ You cut it right before Aku's Akus laugh separately and then in unison? That's terrifying AND demonstrates how they operate both independently and as a whole. It's one of the best parts!
"How can this bee?! ]8" - Aku
"It posses the power to destroy this evil, but we're not gonna let you have that power. you can just lock him up for 8 years"
I love the music in this battle.
I like how they recorded one single scream and then used it like 20 times lmao
Tfw jack doesn't get his own flying nimbus
3:30 *When I play beat saber*
I felt bad for Jack's father, he was not ready or experienced enough to take on Aku this early on. He fought well.
It took Jack 50+ years to gain enough experience and allies to put an end to Aku.
Aku with the stock screams
This show won like 10 awards if I remember.
Bardock uses the flying nimbus to fight Frieza
