As a native californian born and raised in southern california im very proud to be from california regardless of the negative things people have to say. We have it all. Beautiful cities beaches towns mountain ranges lakes cultures etc.etc.I love california. My home state.it is expensive here just makes you hustle work harder is all.
Same here but born and raised in Northern California. There is NO PLACE LIKE CALIFORNIA!! You can do anything here, almost in one day. Haters are jealous becuase they can't afford to live here, and those that live here and hate on California should just plain leave. (One note on the video is Cambria. I went in the 90s for the first time and it was great - sophisticated art galleries, shops and hotels.I revisted in 2019, and it has turned into one big, tacky junk store of cheap souvenirs and bad art. But the other towns are in this piece are amazing. It's a good bucket list!)
@@viaveritaschap I’ve noticed ALOT of the haters born/raised in Cali are the young or Gen Z and I believe it’s mostly because that’s all they hear on the internet and theyre an extremely cult-y/hive-mind generation that believes everything they read/hear on the internet. Or maybe they’re just young and havent had a chance to experience Cali’s greatness due to the pandemic stealing those moments from them. Many say they “cant wait to leave” yet have never been anywhere lol. Gonna be a big reality check when/if they end up in the Midwest. Grass isnt always greener on the other side.
I've been to all of these places. Many are already brimming with tourists. The Bodega Bay one shows the town of Sebastopol, where I live, and also the town of Bodega, which is also not in Bodega Bay. I'm there every week in the summer. It made me not trust the photos much. And Sebastopol is close to Bodega Bay, but still 15 miles inland. I have lived in California most of my life. As a native of Napa Valley, I've also lived in Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and Sonoma County. I LOVE California and am very proud of my beautiful, versatile and amazing state.
# 15, Tahoe City, your photo shows STATELINE, Nevada, where the casinos are in South Shore, not Tahoe City at the North Shore. There are NO tall buildings in Tahoe City.
@@travelthetop Please make a part 2. Three Rivers is ten or less minutes to Sequoia National Park, and they have nice ammenities too. Very small town lots of beauty.
The Birds was filmed in both Bodega Bay and the town of Bodega (which is inland from the coast). Mr. Hitchcock combined the two towns to appear as one town.
You can’t get much California experience in a typical 10 day trip. Pick a region and live in it. Walk, bike, ride transit…and visit grocery stores, beaches, coffee shops. Tour a campus of the statewide university system…Santa Cruz is bold and modern, Berkeley is a world apart. See actual “red tape” at the capitol in Sacramento. The vegetation is worth a separate tour. And if you think it is something you’d hate…just go to North North Dakota.
Your next four photos of "Nevada City" after you see the two men walking through the mineshaft are of Virginia City Nevada. Difference Nevada City is in the middle of a forest and Virginia City Nevada is in the high desert.
@@JigsawPuzzleConnection What about San Juan Capistrano? Also, Julian and Idyllwild are in SoCal and were mentioned. There are also towns like Ramona, Borrego Springs, Randsburg, etc.
Yes. Hanford is super cute. Hermosa beach. All the beach cities. Seal beach. Laguna. Newport. Pasadena. Santa Barbara. Malibu. Three rivers. Oakhurst. Temecula
I live in a small town in Northern California that is known for its beauty. Unfortunately, we are subject to the same ridiculous laws and regulations coming out of Sacramento. We just want to be left alone to live our peaceful lives, but Sacramento seems bound and determined to spread the problems of California big cities to the small towns, too.
That’s every state unfortunately. West Texas is expected to listen to Austin which is the distance of 2 whole states away. Peoria, Illinois has to listen to Springfield - and Springfield is very much lobbied by Chicago. Clovis, NM has to listen to Santa Fe. I’m a conservative voter in Texas but I’ve also been a truck driver. I’ve been all over California. Sacramento and Los Angeles County hardly speak for Modesto, Redding, or Truckee.
Looks like the photos used for Tahoe City actually show South Lake Tahoe and/or Stateline (Tahoe City has no large casino hotels). But also, for my money, Truckee is nicer than either.
That's ridiculous. While there are many other gems, he hits the main ones. The problem is that CA is full of some of the greatest small towns of the world. CA haters, just stay away, we don't want you.
There were pictures of Virginia City, NV instead of Nevada City. There was also pictures of South Lake Tahoe, CA instead of Tahoe City, CA. These places are all different from each other. Please get your information correct before making these videos and showing the wrong places.
You are watching way too much Fox News. People want to visit because its hands down the most beautiful state in the nation. Lifetime resident, been to many states and there is nothing like it. Oh and yes, I'm a Republican.
Good stay out of my beautiful state!!! You most likely will feel more at home in Florida, where inbreeding seems to be the pass time of all Floridians!!
I'm a conservative living in California. I love it here! You just have to understand the ways of the state to survive. California has the best geography but the worst politicians. So I personally turn off the tv and get out and explore the state. Unfortunately though, you have to avoid the ghettos like LA and San Fran. You also need to do things early to avoid traffic and crowds. Otherwise the geography is so worth it! And by the way, most people I meet here are conservative. It's just the unions and special interest groups and corrupt businesses like silicon valley, that are putting these horrible politicians in power. It is not the people. Most people here are good. We're just being held hostage by the corrupt.
These are some of the whitest towns in the entire country. It's interesting how diversity is not always our strength when it comes to safety, cleanliness - you know a place someone would want to visit. So uncanny.
Just watch this video. These are all lovely places to live. Have lived in Capitola and now live in a tiny town south of Half Moon Bay. I love California!

Most of your Tahoe City video is actually South Lake Tahoe, which locals would tell you is a different kind of place
Exactly... all were shots of Casinos! Tahoe City is much, much nicer...
Tahoe city and south lake Tahoe is as similar as northern CA and southern CA. Sadly it's only those from Northern CA can see the differences.
I caught that too.
I love Kings beach.
Great list! I would add Crescent City, Duncans Mills, and Wrightwood.

I lived in Nevada City for years. It is gorgeous.
Beautiful California ❤❤
I would have added Paso Robles (or Atascadero) and San Juan Capistrano.
Or Big Sur
Atascadero is stretching it... lol
Better have lots of wealth. Big bucks to live in these places.
Where do you live?
Because you have the money to get 316 days of sunshine no humidity every day of your life…but not everyone can afford that ;)
The San Joaquin Valley is full of humidity every summer... like the southern states. California has everything.
Carmel my town work and live there since 1955.🥰

How are Del Mar and Coronado small towns? They are basically next to San Diego! Encinitas is more of a small town vibe than Del Mar and Coronado.
Looks like the photos used for Tahoe City actually show South Lake Tahoe and/or Stateline (Tahoe City has no large casino hotels). But also, for my money, Truckee is nicer than either.
Truckee is one of the coldest places in the USA each winter. No ty.
Nope. Tahoe City all the way
That wasn't Tahoe City. That was South lake Tahoe. Way different.
South shore used to be beautiful. Not so much any more. They took the beach out and put up a parking lot. Not "naturey" at all!!!!
Forgot Trinidad!!
Sorry but Del Mar is part of North County. Far from a small town.
It’s on my list.
Should add Folsom,Ca.
Carmel, for me, is the best in this list

How about Santa Barbara, if I was only wealthy enough I would retire their.
Santa Barbara was too big to put on this list
SB has lost it's charm. No more SAKS, Nordstrom, decent resturaunts but it has gone down hill.
