"You might be playing high level Tekken all by yourself" is one of the best pieces of advice I've gotten about this game.
That's probably true for all intermediate players where some opponents clearly know their stuff but others are just pushing buttons like it's low ranks still.

He is right with light blue ranks and even green with my dragunov starting yesterday I had maybe 2 or 3 people break those grabs once in a match. Oddly enough I have more people break my shining wizard and side slam combo with king than any of dragunovs grabs even after he has been nerfed by this point in time

The sidestep thing really hit true for me. Started to struggle in Suzaku (red ranks) when people figured out how to properly sidestep.

Low ranks won’t break grabs. Purple and higher ranks will.

FF1+2 grab guarantees df2 if they immediately back roll, many players in lower ranks will keep back rolling even after getting hit and if they try to stay down you can get stomp

Db2,1,2 works pretty well even up to around Fujin. I catch people all the time with either "db2 delayed 1,2" or "db2,1 delayed 2", and it's kind of rare that anyone punishes the last hit properly. I guess the main issue with the string for noobs, is that you need to pick-up with iWS4 if you want a consistent combo.
Sorry for necro, but doesn't db2,1,2 then d2 ws4 combos?
@@ex1us yeah it does but the combo often drops after the ws4. It's been awhile since I last tested it but I think it's still the same. iWS4 pickup is tricky but it makes the combo 100% consistent
@@ex1us K I had another look at it in practice and yeah, the d2 ws4 pickup works if the last string hit gets them up close. If it hits from a bit further away though the jab or b1,2 after the ws4 can whiff. iWS4 pickup will make the combo work every time from any range though.
@@DaedricNZ yeah, i also checked earlier, d2 ws4 works only if youre close and the enemy is not off axis. im just a lowly vindicator, gotta polish on my iws4 xd cdc is already hard enough

JDCR just made life hell for all the unsuspecting teal rank players that don't play Dragunov.
Unless you do more labbing than playing ;)
Also b+2, 1, 3 is a good launcher in low ranks. That's really impossible to find a Grand Master that will block this shit. But, if he does, you could use b+2, 1, 3, 1+2 and launcher turns into a duck-grab. And it will be really hard for your opponent to guess which one you going to use.

EU PC doesn't break throws up until TGO. Sure there are people who break them, but there are also a lot of people which don't break them if you mix them up(1, 2 and 1+2 break) a lot.
WR2, b+1+2, d2, throws spam works until TGO including. I also added there cheese with qcb2 after minus on block moves and on wake ups.
And also 10 string works wonderfully on all ranks: 1,3,1,2,4,1+2, I kid you not, you'll be hitting people on all ranks with this string: people will be trying to duck and punish it on reaction, and fail, people will be trying to parry it, trying to step it, trying to interrupt it, think that string ends at the 4 input and try to punish it(don't end the string if 4 got blocked at the start), etc.
Then there's 1,3,2,1+2 gimmick. If they try to interrupt this throw, use the 1,3,1,2,4,1+2 string. Also mix this string with 1,3,2,1+2,b,b+4,3, it works very nicely, too, on all ranks:

what if you fight a low rank player with a very evasive character...that high crush alot..even crush some drag mids...or a steve always ducking in under jabs and grabs...not very easy to fight them with dragunov
Some of Dragunov's mids are trash, so chances are it's not the other char, it's just Drag being Drag lol...
Anyway, if someone is crouching in your face, the easiest answer is always df1 - boom - easy plus frames, chances are they'll be so confused they'll start mashing and you get a free follow-up.
If they're dumb enough to crouch for ages, df2 launch them, free full combo.
Alternatively you can hit them with b1+2 then stomp them with d3+4.
You can hit them with b4,3 or b2,1 or if you're feeling fancy uf4 which gives you a free d4,1,3 mini combo.

Yes but nothing like he mentioned, 40 damage throws are not rare but drag has mixups that convert into grabs and that makes him a good grabber, this video is horrible his mindset is for competitive only
