Lyrics:
Disembodied voices deepen my
Suspicious tendencies
Conversations we've never had
Imagined interplay
Psychopathy
Don't you dare point that at me
Heated altercations we've never had
So I'm told
Yet guided by them all
Every single one
Psychopathy
Misleading me over and over and over
Judge, condemn, and banish any and everyone
Without evidence
Only the whispers from within
Psychopathy
Misleading me over and over
Psychopathy
Misleading me over and over and over

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank tool for giving an old man one last excuse to buy a cd at a record store... brought back a lot of memories... thanks guys, it's been one hell of a ride
I remember exactly where I was when I bought 10,000 days the day it came out. It was on my lunch break at a factory job. I drove to Circuit City and bought the cd. Do you remember where you were when you bought 10,000 days?
Circuit City holy shit, that went out of business when I was 8 if I remember correctly
Rough City Podcast with Keith & Chazz I went and bought it right before graduating high school lol graduated June ‘06. Such an amazing album to enjoy some mushrooms to 🤯🙃..*ahem back in the day of course not now🤫

If they don't play Tool at my funeral......I am NOT going!!
I'm a 68 soon to be old fart ! This band just blows me away , makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end !!! AWESOME !!!

I agree this is often overlooked by pneuma or Fear Inoculum
I know that most people focus their attention on Tool's instrumentals, but can we take a moment to appreciate how clean and smooth Maynard's voice is on every single song. His voice fits perfectly on every track, forming the words rhythmically and almost turning them into instruments.
Danny come out and say as much, that since 10k days they been using Maynard's voice more as an instrument than anything else.
Yknow what now youve said it i cant unhear it lol. They are so unique, almost like the pink floyd of metal.
Maynard is a wizard of rhythmically spoken poetry. The careful placement, and few words needed to express grandeur among themselves.

Oneof the best singers of all time
This song is probably a sleeper for a lot of people, but it definitely became my favorite pretty quickly.
a bit
cacophonous though.
This and descending make the middle of the album so beefy and juicy. I love it
took me like 5 listens on this track to get it but now the best 3 are in no order Fear inoculum Pneuma and culling voices
What? It really wakes me up!

Hey some person, It's hilarious that a lot of people like you go on Tool videos when you have no clue what you're listening to. Here's a clue, this is Tool's primary Artist outside the bandmembers -
ua-cam.com/video/Dclx1zJDNv4/v-deo.html ... Wake the F' up.
"Psychedelics is a big part of what we do." - Maynard Keenan (2004) - www.ayahuasca.com/psyche/shamanism/ayahuasca-shaman/ .. And after you read that link, and listen to Tools music over years (especially Lateralus), it's all so blatantly obvious. Tool is a shamanic band. Commit to a minimum of 20 Ayahuasca ceremonies with groups of people from around the world , and wake the F up. As everything you believe in your blind Ego-mind is complete lies.
TOOL. Four men who sound like an entire 100 person orchestra.
I lost my virginity to my day when lateralus came out.
I’m a 57!year old man. I will never forget it.

Holy s*** yes!
My girlfriend and I both absolutely love Tool and actually bonded pretty tight because of them and this is her favourite song on them album.
We bought tickets to go see them in Amsterdam and decided to stop following them for months to avoid spoilers, but she kept on expressing her disappointment over the fact that they wont be playing Culling Voices because of the extra guitar track.
I got it spoiled pretty early on, that Danny picks up the guitar for this at the concert.... for seven friggin months I kept this from her. I thought for SURE she'll read it somewhere by accident, but no...
Great great great concert, but hands down the best part for me was when they brought chairs on the stage and Danny strolled to the front with a guitar in his hand. Looking at my girl all confused, trying to piece things together and figure out what was going on was one of the best thing I've ever seen... I know how she thinks and she figured it out before they even started playing. Never seen a person freak out like that while still trying to contain themselves.
I'll never forget it.
F**k, I love her...
❤️
Hey brother were you in Dallas. I saw them live and was surprised when Danny started playing lol
Awesome story ;)
I hope the two of you are still together ❤

I can imagine future archeologists finding this recording on a hard drive and thinking its some kind of religious hymn

Neither is bad
True. It also does capsulate Tools style to me. Hypnotic, droning and flowing with a core of meaning hidden just beneath the surface.

Absolutely. Rare moment.
This song will always remind me of the damage done by my own inner voice, whispers imagined interplay, conversations we never had, judge condemn and banish any and everyone without evidence... Yet guided by them all, every single one...
Hopefully pain leads to growth, makes you see what you didn't see before so you can move on with a new life perspective.
Thank you TOOL, you're making the path more meaningful and easy to withstand.
Amen. You don't grow when you're comfortable. Keep going. Keep growing.
Damn. So well said. I resonated deeply with that
Well said so very true and looking at myself going why didn’t I say that
Thank you for sharing this insight with me, I feel like it resonated with me so much and that I need to repair the damage my inner voice has done to me also.
Thank you! I'm glad I'm not alone in this.
I love how it starts quiet, melancholic and melodic, then when the rage is built up enough it bursts out and hammers the opponent down. Eventually you calm down and realize you're no better off, you're just like them.
I am a better person for finding tool.

It's a nice sounding word phonetically 🤷♂️
Maynard's voice gives me chills man. Beautiful! Cant get enough.

This track is becoming one of all-time favourite Tool songs. The hypnotic progression in this one is just brilliant.
Fear Inoculum really is another Tool masterpiece.
Undertow: cold, harsh and honest
Ænima: dark, brooding, transitional
Lateralus: ethereal, grand sounding and mystical
10 000 days: groovy, melancholic and rocking,
Fear Inoculum: atmospheric, deep and musical
Opiate: sweaty, cold&ugly and jerk off
Fear Incolum: redundant, repetitive, and lack luster
Thanks! I'll keep this in mind. I love Tool!

Most underrated song on the record. Anyone who has survived a psychopathic related trauma understands
Tool lyrics are usual pretty open and cryptic. I always interpreted the lyrics with the culture conflict that's going around, especially when we look at the other lyrics from the album.
As in, being a psychopath or being a victim of one?
I think it could be about us as a species or someone he knows maybe. I often think of Tool as a music of healing..im listening to this track now because i am dealing with just this. Psychopathy misleading me..over and over..interpretation..as a recovering drug addict dealing with the ramifications of the old me...going to court for felonies..no vehicle..trying to get my license back..possibly losing it again. Hoping for a privileged license..so much weight on my shoulders..sometimes I get down..so down.. Psychopathy misleading me..over and over..send me good vibes please..

@@mattsmith3839 I'd tend to agree with you with the species part - takes me to "Right in Two" and "Intension"
My father, in 1996: "The music you're listening to is awful. That's no music, that's noise".
Me: "OK, whatever, you don't get it. I get that..."
Today, I went for diner at their place. Could not resist showing him the album, artwork and inside screen delivered in the afternoon.
He told me: "put it in the player, please"
Me: "are you sure?"
After "Culling Voices, Descending and 7empest":
My 62 years old father: "What's the name of that band again? You can make me a copy of this."
Me: "Big smile on my face"...
I know no one cares, but that's finally some kind of recognition of the things I love/like and this makes me happy (or happier, since I'm f.cking happy since the release of that Masterpiece)

I totally understand how you feel. I am so proud that my 18 year old daughter loves the new album and wants to see them in concert. It is great when you can appreciate good music for the art that it is. She never liked mainstream pop or country. It makes me feel like I did something right.
@@sterlingmaloryarcher6288 It is nice, indeed! (I was already listening to TOOL in 96. This shows everyone evolve, somehow, even my dad who's been a big influence with the music he was listening to, though. THIS IS WHY TOOL IS MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME
Travis Cooper neck and neck for my number 1 spot with Pink Floyd👍🏻

Pneuma and Culling voices, the two pearls of Fear Inoculum!!!
If I had to choose, I'd say Invincible is the best song on the album. But I truly love them all. This one feels like a lullaby to me.
@@tzitti In my opinion you are wrong, this song exactly reflects the style of the Tool with the typical crescendo of the band ... Even from the minute 6:52 it seems a lullaby to you? The whole record is great, Invincible included ... But I have a weakness for the songs I mentioned ...
Santo Leotta I’m starting to agree with you man, I still need to dissect descending and 7empest first but so far you’re on the money, cheers 🤘
The fun thing about opinions is we're all allowed to have different ones. Invincible just speaks the most to me. Also, not all lullabies are sweet and mellow. Have you ever heard German ones? They can be intense. Really though, every TOOL song is the best because TOOL is the best.

Most underrated song on the album. It's a shame it's not racking up more views
Gavin Rains keep in mind it’s a bit more of a subdued song so maybe it will take time for people to appreciate its nuance.

This album perfectly sums up why I am a Tool fan. Transcendent.
Am I the only one, who suddenly rediscovers songs from Tool's albums? Even today, 3 years later, I realized this is one of the best tracks on the album. But when I first got the album, it was Invincible. About a year and a half later, Descending took the top spot. Now I'm listening to this one constantly. Tool's music really has a depth that is unmatched by other bands I feel. Perhaps the different tracks resonate more strongly with different seasons of life. Either way, I fucking love Tool.
Culling Voices isn't getting the appreciation it deserves.
every album needs to have their sleeper song and this on is the one, because it is so mellow that the not so fans skip it if they dont hear the loudness of the ending at the beginning
It will be, take this from an old fart because when everyone settles down, (especially me) lol it will become a must listen to, believe me...Black Sabbath = remember Planet Caravan... Changes...etc are must listen to tunes and so will Tool songs. Peace.

I literally just wrote a comment saying stuff like that like not even 30 seconds ago. Then I scroll down and seen this you’re definitely without a doubt correct.
It was not one of my favorites at first i would skip it but now my ears must of been deaf at the time cause now it's one of my favorite tool songs I've ever heard.
Jeremy Moss ua-cam.com/video/d-9ubROeMMM/v-deo.html
Sounds like it could have been off undertow, tbh. Good shit.
And remain there, because it's a low-tier tool song.
No Tool song has ever made me cry, but dude, this song with Adams guitar, and Maynard’s voice......it just did.
Pussy
Wings for Marie does it for me.
Man up
Stasiss Villan yup. wings 1&2 beat me up also.
@@WesPipez if you cant connect with a song well enough itll make you shed a tear.....youre not really a man. Its ok, we all grow up someday.
Every grey cloud has TOOL’s silver lining!
😗
Every song is the best song on the album
I think this is arguably the best track on this album. Maynard just sounds so angelic here
Joshua C Hell yeah and that guitar breakdown is unparalleled ✌️
Yes i agree with you his voice very much does and the bass tone is so haunting yes FI is one of their best albums of all time.
Each time I listen to a song, I'm like, oh yes this one is my favorite. Then I listen to the next one and I'm like, oh this one is definitely my favorite.
SAME!!
Right it's hard to share that precious space we call our favorite but tool makes it impossible to not.
Imagine listening to this on your lunch break and then having to go back to work. Like stepping in different portals and brain waves. So hard to explain.
Im an electrician so i understand in my own ways and, it is difficult to explain especially whenever none try to understand.
I’m a student in India and no one understands it around me :[
story of my life man. im a musician and listening to shit like this just makes me want to quit on the spot lol.
@@Kay-lf2eg I'm from India and I love tool catch me on ig.

Seeing this live was EPIC. ❤
I know, right?! Were you at MKE too? I'm still in awe at how great the show was, especially this song.
@@utnapishtim23 nah, MN. Definitely had to pop the edible. Best decision ever.
@@MatteBlackEverythingthe glittering confetti was too cool
Being the song that probably got the least attention so far, this one has definitely grown the most for me the past 4 days. I feel this is the hidden gem of the album. OMG does Maynard kill it in this song... And then, Adam's incredibly sensible and sad guitar play... Don't even know what to say...
My favourite. All the other tracks I've had to listen 3 or 4 times to really stick, but this one grabbed in the first 30 seconds, and when Maynard starts singing, oh man.
Thanks tool
I came here to say the same thing. This song crept up on me.
Incredibly sad leads....listens to song. No lead guitar at all. Wtf are you talking about bruz
@@taramac1473 pretty sure he's meaning all that stuff Adam's doing throughout most of the song. So what he called em leads lol
I knew this album had dropped and have loved tool for years, but I had yet to listen. I used to sit around with a buddy of mine who is no longer around listening to the albums on repeat. I cant tell you how many hours on how many days we just sat there quiet passing a bowl back and forth not saying a word just listening. It became a sort of ritual. We were around 15 at the time. I'm 29 now. Life had beaten me down recently. I was just about ready to give up. I remembered they had dropped their album and came to check it out. This album brought me back from the brink.
Today I have listened the whole album, after delay I pushed upon myself...
Welcome back.
the whole album gets better with every listen - each listen, it gets deeper - pure magical !
I am ashamed to admit i didnt like it at first. It probably is my fav now.
Maynard's voice is haunting in this one
This song just tears my brain a brand new sonic portal... my gawd what a masterpiece. The whole album, divine.
Lived long enough to listen to this masterpiece.... Can die in peace and bliss now 🖤
i'm with you
RIP you guys
Ready to paddle into the storm.
But damn if I don't want to see how Star Wars ends! Little things keep us going
Me too
This song forces a visceral remembrance of the mounting tension and subsequent malignant flow state I experienced enduring childhood trauma. This song has been instrumental in my healing.

Look I love tool, but this album just imo is the worst guys. No disrespect. I'm glad y'all like it. I'm gonna say its so terrible but definitely my least favorite.
Sending these waves towards the sky for you bro.
I hear that.👊
he is dead there is no after life CRINGE
@@KillDozer44 You got a big surprise coming
😥 I'm sry he couldn't hear this... condolences

I'm a meth addict, heroin addict in recovery..Tool is my NA Anonymous..I don't do meetings..I have been sober for 4 years and counting. I lost my brother..A piece of my soul, There's a void that only tools music can fill deep in the recesses of my soul. I'm torn from losing my brother..My best friend..and I don't tell anyone how deep it rips me open daily..It's been years and it doesn't fade..it grows. He understood me, I understood him. I love him and he's gone.. Physically he's gone..Thank you tool..Your music is more then music..It's food for the soul.. Ointment for scars, Therapy and an escape to somewhere.. Something better. RIP Anthony Lombardi AKA Sketchy Kid🤘🙏
You're not the only one who feels that way.Hope you're hanging in there wherever you are at in this vast universe.
I'm very happy that you're clean and sober. I hope your brother rests in peace.
@@hilleryearl524 Thank you🤗🙏
God bless you, man
I lost my little sister for psychopathy.
This song was absolutely beautiful live with the confetti falling down
Played this album on max as I delivered mail on my route today...I'm sure my customers were pissed but it was a great day in history for me
A fellow postal worker I see. Everyone who walks into my office is going to get treated to this album on repeat for at least a month.
BRIAN VALENTINE I used to do the same thing when I carried. I can’t count the number of times I listened to the other albums on my route. The release of this album makes me wish I was still out there with built-in time to listen for 8-10 hours a day.
Adam. Justin. Danny. Wow. Just wow.
Can we talk about Maynards vocals?? Lol almost like APC meets TOOL
Oh yeah, and don't forget that Maynard guy...
luke quixere absolutely! Haha
These guys are on another level. How each member can stand out without overpowering each other is unrivaled.
And of course Maynard's voice!
Undertow, Aenima, Lateralus, 10.000 days, Fear Inoculum.
The best was to come.
Keep it up, Tool, you never deceived.
Tool is a great example of good things taking time. This album exceeds anyone's shitty expectations
Disintegrate expectations
It gave a pride-obliterating b*tch smack to my expectations
One of Maynard's best vocal melody's i think. Amazing.
I cannot describe how I feel right now.
This is a masterpiece!
Tool is to be remembered throughout the coming centuries and I'll participate in their glory by sharing all of their gems to my future kids.
It's a promise.
If that crushing riff at the end doesn't kick ass we're not friends
hi friend :)
TOOL is the perfect combination of the 70s & the 90s! in 2022!
You mean 70s and 90s came in 21' to meet Tool.
There’s no way I’m going to work tomorrow
lol
There's no way I'm ever doing anything again, just listening to this precious new album on repeat until I die and then I'm complaining to God or the Devil or whoever the fuck it is we do or don't meet in the afterlife about the music they play in heaven or hell
Yep... too bad.
Word
Really good weed? Some chillies, good cheese selection and this album.
Thank you for growing with us and for us. Beautiful.
Well, I found a new fav artist..
enjoy the ride
How wonderful it would be to have just heard your first Tool song again. Good luck, my friend.
Welcome to the TOOL ARMY .. spiral out 💫
