After seeing the results you showed in the video, I was left with the desire and wanted to check it for myself. I went to the Lowe store, bought 4, installed them and got the same result that you showed in the video. Thanks for making this video it helped me a lot 😃
I was going nuts trying to figure out why I am now hearing wind whistling while I'm driving. My car is barely 3 years old and I thought that it may have been defective. I do not know if it's my door seal that has begun deteriorating but I don't want to think that there could be a bigger problem. I will try this fix and see if it works. What do you recommend is the seal thickness to start with?
Was this added beside the D-shape weatherstrip? Also, I ripped my d-shape weatherstrip trying to get into my car after leaving the keys inside. Should I replace the whole d-shape weatherstripping or add that stripping?
I would say it’s more next to the rubber gasket that’s already in place. You will need to determine with side by the design of your vehicle. They are all made a bit different. Placing on the rubber gasket may add to much and not allow it to shut properly.
Here’s a link to Amazon - MD Auto Seal Kit [5/16" x 17']- amzn.to/3F9PygS. I’m pretty sure other big box stores/home improvement stores carry them too!
After I've. installed the new door seal, when I close the door, I need to put more force. What is the solution? Shall I make small holes here and there in the new seal?
That’s definitely an option, but my local dealer wanted a few hundred dollars and this is almost a 20 year old truck. This does perfectly fine and still working well
Sorry to hear that. The good thing is you can normally take them off without any damage to your vehicle and get a larger size. Was your vehicle in a bad wreck? Because that gap size seems large if it didn’t help much.

You are welcome. Glad it helped out! Much cheaper than buying from a dealership a new door seal
Boy, I needed this, thanks!
You are welcome. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Very helpful. I tested it today after applying it yesterday and it worked!
Glad it helped! Have a great day!
Good video. An even better fix would be get a new seal from the dealer. But this does work. I’ve done it before on my car!
Yes, that’s another option!
Dose it go on the rubber or around the rubber
Year right. I got new seal from dealer and it is worse than original one. Probably they get from china cheap garbage
I have a jeep grand Cherokee 2020. Does it work or do you have any recommendations?
Yes, it should work the same!
Does it work for my jeep grand Cherokee 2020. Do you any other recommendations. Please let me know thank you .
Yes!
You apply right next to the old seal or on top of it the old seal?
Next to it. I would advise again on it unless your is really really smooshed.
Was this added beside the D-shape weatherstrip? Also, I ripped my d-shape weatherstrip trying to get into my car after leaving the keys inside. Should I replace the whole d-shape weatherstripping or add that stripping?
Yes, I’d order the actual weatherstripping for your make and model. This video was added next to it to give it more weather stripping.
Thanks! Just subscribed bc I really like your content… clear and easy instructions to get the project done!
Thanks for the sub! Hope you have a great day!
Dose this go on the rubber or behind the rubber?
I would say it’s more next to the rubber gasket that’s already in place. You will need to determine with side by the design of your vehicle. They are all made a bit different. Placing on the rubber gasket may add to much and not allow it to shut properly.
hello .. is it work with f 150 raptor ?
the same seal you using on your car ?
can i use it for my f150 and i will put it in the same way ?
Yes it should! You might wanna make sure to look at your original size to make sure it’s pretty comparable. But the procedure is the same.
Thanks for this tutorial 👍
You are welcome!
Where did you get these

thank you

After I've. installed the new door seal, when I close the door, I need to put more force. What is the solution? Shall I make small holes here and there in the new seal?
It will go down a little over time which might solve your problem. But you might need a smaller thickness seal.
I would use rubbing alcohol to clean with
Does that hurt the clear coat paint? I thought about that or denatured alcohol but I chose to not go that route.
Great idea! Appreciate it!!
You are welcome! Best of luck!
It's noticeable that the wind noise is reduced
Thanks for watching and commenting!
It's noticeable that the audio for both clips are at two different levels.
Same phone camera. I didn’t alter the sounds even if it may sound like I did

Very helpful thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Put it in first then peel
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate you watching and commenting
Why don’t you replace the whole door seals
That’s definitely an option, but my local dealer wanted a few hundred dollars and this is almost a 20 year old truck. This does perfectly fine and still working well
Great Vid.. but why do you start all your sentences with "so"?
It’s probably just my nervous tick. I’m glad you like the video.
Just turn up the radio volume
Hahahaha! When I was a teenager that’s what I would have done, lol!
@MCFIXIT do you no longer listen to musix?
These are so small man, didn't help my problem a ton. I should have got the larger D shaped rubber.
Sorry to hear that. The good thing is you can normally take them off without any damage to your vehicle and get a larger size. Was your vehicle in a bad wreck? Because that gap size seems large if it didn’t help much.
