Annie Wersching played a fantastic Borg Queen. RIP.
I think this may have been one of two of the last pieces of work she ever did sadly.
Love that they dropped Jerry Goldsmith's Star Trek: First Contact borg themes. Nice touch!
That detail is one of the best parts of Picard S2
RIP Annie Wersching - a fantastic borg queen
They played this so well keeping the borg creepy
I gotta say seeing the borg queen smirking throughout the whole jump is oddly funny but also terrifyingly cool at the same time
I have to say that Annie Wersching was my favorite Borg Queen ever! Well played! RIP your highness!
I got to say, Marty Mcfly’s mum is a very good director, the scene with Borg Queens capture the creepy and atmospheric look of the Borg and clever use of low camera angle really add to how she crawls around.
Nice nod to first contact with the musical score
RIP Annie Wersching, wonderful Borg Queen. Epic scene
1:16 this whole sequence is outstanding, Annie’s lines and acting, Alison running precariously between the oversized barrels, Santiago’s “esta loco” at the warp speed
The way she says “Shatter to mend.” just sounds so cool - the Confederation timeline Borg Queen really gave off strong ‘mad soothsayer’ vibes
@@elliotblabla Season 2 is really the best of the 3 seasons imo, take away the Picard mom suicide stuff which was just weird
@@elliotblablaI also like Alison’s childlike fright at the “shatter to mend,” it really foretells the melding of the two
I watched the terminator crawl and chase Sarah Connor as a kid.
BUT the Borg queen truly freaked me out here.
And I thought the new version of the Gorn was bad enough crawling around and being the new "alien" to watch out for!. Crawling Borg Queens without legs are MUCH spookier...great scene there!. Hooked on watching this at the minute...
Picard sitting there tripping balls.
Say what you will about the series. The Queen crawling around with her spine dangling is creepy as hell.
But awesome 🤗
She's Bad ass though
The Queen and Q were both fantastic in this series
Season 2 in general isn’t very good, but they nailed the Borg Queen perfectly.
And this is the Borg Queen when she was here to help!
Love that bad ass borg queen
Best scene of the entire season.
Hellraiser vibes 😍
rip queen ... this was an amazing scene
"Mr. Scott cannot give me exact figures, so I will make a guess."
Those were ATARI pew pew sound effects launching the torpedos. And it fit perfectly.
The sling shot around the sun technique is the most logical way than some time machine
They re-used the method from STAR TREK IV-The Voyage Home. At least some consistency there.
@@xn0gaming Think they did that in a TOS episode as well.
Awesome scene, amazing show!
I'd still have preferred Alice Krige, but I gotta say. That had style!
and this still was her half crazed state...she really scream Borg Queen when wakes up in 2024 no longer suffering the affect of the temporal divergence
Well Krige is quite old now and probably wouldn't feel comfortable in that suit (the one she wore in First Contact was bad enough).
@@GrandmasterDevo Quite Old? The Lady is 16 years younger than Patrick Stewart, who sounds like Death warmed up with every breath.
Besides, they could have modified the suit.
This is the third queen now, there was one in early voyager, they had krige do the final appearance though
@@downunderrob I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time - well done!
I think the german voice of the Borg queen is way more creepier😅
Sooooo sooo bad ass
had a bit of a Star Trek The Voyage Home vibe to it
and First Contact lol
@@justindolan4929 and tmp!
The Borg Queen reminds me of the Cylon Hybrid
I was thinking exactly the same thing, somehow I was expecting her to literaly utter the word "Jump" with a certain degree of elation from her part.
that was awesome hahahah
What I find idiotic about this is that all starships have supercomputers. To make this time jump Seven, from past history should've been able to make the calculations for it, or that by the 25th century a nav computer should be able to do what Spock did. It is after all an equation you enter into a computer. Seven has perfect recall and would know this equation. But I do appreciate the scene. Makes for a great horror scene, echoes of the movie, First Contact.
Hey, Beatles fans! Reaching warp 10 sounds just like the end of A Day In The Life!
Can't say I understand why she would say what she's doing out loud.
Well she’s on their side at the moment, so probably just letting them know what she’s up to.
It's like Laser Quest.
I hear the queen's son is a Captain now
RiP....
I was shaking my head when they got attacked by the confederate ships. They conquered the galaxy but can’t hit one ship at close range then they all get taken out with one torpedo. 😂
The queen was already in control of the ship at that time. Probably calculated a slight trajectory adjustment, just enough to evade their projectiles without straying too far from the intended flight path. The torpedoes where clearly impromptu enhanced with Borg codes by the queen - after all she should have more than enough data about configuration and weaknesses of confederation ships in the new timeline.
@@Belikel weird the queen can take outt 2 ships with ease and somehow still let the borg get anhilated by the confederation XD
@@randomrazr I figured it is because the confederation cares about the lives of individual soldiers even less than the Borg do. They probably had no issue sacrificing countless of their own in the process. Besides, the hive usually wants to conquer and integrate, they rarely aim for outright destruction while the confederation's goal was from the get-go to obliterate the Borg. Always easier to blow things up than take them over intact by force.
@@Belikel maybe they just had the balls that the ferdation didnt have and unleashed a super virus that fucked the entire borg. i mean a super connected hive mind would easily spread a virus
@@randomrazr Oh I bet they financed weapon divisions research in areas the Federation banned as unethical. Which ultimately lead to the replacement of utilitarian regimes like those of the Borg or the Romulans with an even more destructive one called Confederation.
Wow this sesaon
This "sesaon" is about as good as your spelling.
Come on, its not that bad.
😁
Why does the borg queen remind me of D’vorah from Mortal Kombat
Stanley still making Fubars in the 23rd century…
So where are the time cops from voyager in all of this?
Q changed the timeline in the 21st century, the time cops never existed in this reality as a result. A bit of a cop-out but if the story is good then that's fine by me.
Erased when Q changed the timeline.
If you want to talk about the time cops where we're they every other time the timeline was changed
RIP
I like Star Trek...always have. I just have a lot of difficulty with the Time Travel plot hole. It does not make sense to me.
small mistake but color of the Sun is wrong, from Earth it appears yellow, but from space it should be white
No no it's not.
Probes have taken images of the sun from orbit or hell even from near Mercury and its yellow/orange.
its fiction bruh
I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO DO !
🕶️
I'm glad to see they didn't turn into lizards this time.
@@liamloxley1222 No need to be nasty.
We don't talk about that.
When did ppl ever turn into lizards?
@@numbaoneg101 Star Trek: Voyager, season 2 episode 15, "Threshold."
@@GrandmasterDevo I disagree, give me Janeway Parris's scaly babies spin-off or give me death.
I don't think that is how it works when it comes to the Borg upgrading. It takes time for a ship to get upgrades from the Borg. This is so stupid. Also, they had a ship better than the bird of pray that Captain Kirk used to travel back in time. I do believe they could have done that themselves.
Seven went past time second time while everyone is first time huh?
Nah, Jean Luc's done loads of time travel. The team-up with Kirk in 'Generations"; the three-way timeline ping pong in 'All Good Things...'; the time the TNG crew met Samual Clemens, etc...
Why is the captain so impressed. He already destroyed one of the attacking ships personally
I wish she was my wife lol
So is the borg queen good now
Umm, I would not say that. Temporary alignment of objectives is a better look at it. Later Picard even says, "Same spots, same leopard" because once her side of the deal is done then she starts to show her normal self again.
Oh
So they couldnt find another way to time jump and had to get the stargate bs one? Lol
It's from ST5
I'm so dreadfully tired of sparks and steam and sparks and steam and sparks and steam shooting out of everything on the bridge in Star Trek. It's so lazy.
I don't think it's lazy it's pretty intentional. It wouldn't feel like a Star Trek bridge without it and I'm guessing that's why they still do it. Discovery at least has flame throwers now that shoot fire out of the bulkheads for some reason lol.
It’s better than the stone rubble we’d have seen in earlier series.
It's a shame after this scene the show went to shit as usual.
They all making drama at warp 9.2 a aspeed the enterprise coudl travel for hours non stop.
Not while circling around the sun and inside its gravity well to travel back in time though. That has always been depicted as an awful experience.
Rios's words are purposefully reminiscent of Sulu's in ST4: The Voyage Home when he announces Warp 7, Warp 8, Warp 9, 9.2, 9.3 etc whilst the ship they're in is encircling the sun to go back in time. The writer of Picard has said he loves the TOS movies and has put several nods to them in Picard.
The Enterprise-D is a mega-yacht with phasers and torpedos. It's meant to cruise at high speeds. La Sirena's more of a freighter.
La Sirena a cargo vessel. Designed cruising speed warp 6.5. Pushed to limits can hit Warp 8 for about 3 minutes before power draw and vibrations threaten a core breach. I'm spitballing, but she's not the Millennium Facon. She is a junkpile. She hasnt got a state of the art power generation system say of an Intrepid or Odyssey class. So hitting Warp 9. anything is pretty impressive. In the 24th century most things can be replicated on site and the need for freighters lessened, however, livestock, people or medicenes, certain gases all require transport conventionally.
that season is unbearable. that hispanic captain didn't speak Spanish correctly
This Borg queen talks so much. Is she Borg or Martha Stewart. Does she also share dinner cooking recipes.
