The Jamaican Chinese supplied all the small shops in our village in the 60s. I don't know what my mom would do without the weekly deliveries.

Tastee is the one and only. I tried some of the others but cannot give up Tastee. It is the very best. I would leave home and go to Cross Road to get my Tastee😊😊😊

I worked as a Nurse for many years and some of my Colleagues were originally from Jamaica, we used to bring food in at holiday or birthday times and that’s where I developed a taste for Jamaican Food, I love it, make my own jerk chicken and pork, rice and peas, stew peas are the best! Patties are so good too, so blessed that my colleagues shared their recipes for the best food! Love your channel 😊❤

Good read Melanie, love your videos and thank you. Tastee was just a stones throw from my High School, St Hughes so that was my favourite and most convenient patty shop. Bruces was ok for flavour but the lovely flakiness was missing while Tastee had both. Many blessings!

I have both a love and longstanding loyalty for Tastee's, but I will not refuse to gobble down the other competitors 😂
In the late 1970's to early 1980's i would relish every opportunity to visit the Liguanea (don't know if it's still there) Tastee location on Old Hope Road. This I did for five years without fail. The parties were piping hot, being made on location straight from the oven. If one weren't careful and delicate in consuming them, the scars of scorched lips, tongues, and palates would tell the tale of the experience for days to come, but they were exquisitely delicious and worth the pain.😂
I feel bad now because I LOVE a mother's cheese patty with bacon 🥓 👌
