I finally tried this recipe today and my family was amazed by the authenticity of the flavors and not to mention the crust!! . Hands down the best patty recipe on the internet.
Frankly I'm surprised when people don't know about them. I grew up in Scarborough and there was a shop run by a Jamaican family that sold homemade ones, I miss them terribly. The frozen supermarket ones don't hold a candle to them, but I bet this recipe would be damn close if I can ever find the motivation to make my own.
@@K-Anator I only discovered them like 10 years ago via the frozen ones. I've had store made one's since then & they were definitely the superior. I'm 49 now & grew up in Atlanta. Atlanta has always, in my lifetime, been a very multicultural & multiethnic city. We had restaurants as diverse as Chinese, Korean, Mongolian, Thailand, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Moroccan, Indian, Mexican, Filipino, non-Jamican "Caribbean", French, German. Russian. Etc... But before I moved out of Atlanta I don't recall seeing a Jamaican restaurant; there are definitely some now. I'm guessing that the Jamaican population in the US has traditionally been concentrated in certain cities and not as widespread as some other groups. As a result those areas might know Jamaican food well but in other areas it has not been a thing or not until more recently. Who knows maybe it will become as big a dish as tacos, pizza & gyros some day. I think that would be a great day personally.
I’ve tried to replicate the pastry on these for years but you can tell it’s 100% authentic from the flakiness and the color of the pastry and consistency of the filling. Perfect stuff.
For those who don't have egg powder, use half of the water and 1 whole egg (larger the better). The water content in the egg accounts for roughly 1/4 cup.
@@feedandteachhi again, I'm still gathering the ingredients you have recommended. Just wanted to confirm that it's 2 tablespoons of egg powder to use, rather than teaspoons - as it seems rather a lot? Kindly confirm please. Thank you
It's two tablespoons, I was having trouble getting a deep enough colour but if that measurement makes you uncomfortable you can add in increments when your first adding the iced water.

These are epic💥💥
And I do mean EPIC !
Looks so good! Thanks for uploading and sharing this. I can't wait to impress my girl by making this for her.
I have to agree and say hands down this is the best video and best tasting recipe for Jamaican beef patties
17:10 "Patty is not patty if the crumbs nuh stress you out." True 😂 Appreciated this video. Saving for later so I can try it myself. Depending on where you are it's not always easy to find a Tastee and sometimes the lines too long. So #bookmarked 👍🏾
I can not wait to try this recipe! Thank you
Ok bro let’s get a patty shop going man that’s the absolute best recipe I’ve seen so far. Thanks for sharing definitely subscribing
Thanks for that bro💯 bless!
Hands down the best patty recipe on the internet.
As a guyanese man who can not understand recipes without measurements. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this.
As someone who tried Jamaican Beef Patties the first time I moved to Canada from Argentina, it was something I had to have at least once a week! Now living in Spain, I haven't eaten one and I miss eating this delicious food! I'm gonna try making this cause my whole family loves Beef Patties!
Im so glad that this came up on my feed. You explained so much of what I always wondered concerning the beef texture and how it was so smooth. Also your use of beef suet was genius!
beef tallow is the same, right?
@skaterlover1999 It isn't. Tallow is made from suet. Suet is harder than tallow. 😊
@@skaterlover1999go to your local butcher, they will likely have some. Its cheaper than butter. around 2 dollars a lb in texas. Its hard and melts at room tempature like butter. Its difficult to work with to be honest but its neccessary to get the crust right.
I lived in Jamaica queens for about a year and ate these almost everyday. Beef Patties are my favorite food hands down!!
Thank you for sharing your recipe
Excellent video and explanation, can’t wait to try it. I love patties 😋
I have cooked alot of different dough recipes and this is without a doubt the best patty dough recipe that I have seen! Detailed and informative instructions! Many thanks 🙏🏽
New to the channel. I must say, I throughly enjoyed
this video. Your background music is so relaxing,
your voice so soothing and instructions very clear.
The patties look so delicious, I’ll definitely try
making them sometime soon. 💯❤ it 👍🏾
Oowww! Tell you what growing up as a kid and passing through Brixton London (to get to school) when it was more or less little Jamaica and Patty heaven. One thing I remember, all good patties puffed up and the sauce was juicy. I see it here in this video.
This is love! Thank you for providing this training video.
Feed &Teach, l really enjoy watching you demanstrate how to make the famous Jamaican patty. To be so patient to be teaching the world is very remarkable. Alot of people dont even know what suet or panade is. And here you come showing what it. I wish you all the success life has to offer. You should do the vegetarian version of making patties. Kee Up The Work. Blessings.
Absolutely beautiful and informative video! I learned so much and your Patties look so DELICIOUS 😋
I watched about 6 beef patty recipe videos on youtube but they all seemed like they were missing something, yours looks the most legit out of all of them, im going to get the ingredients and give it a shot.
