- Eager to experience more of the Pacific Northwest, I make a hard push for the Washington wilderness, and find both serenity and mosquitoes along the White River. I take in the Bavarian sights and sounds of Leavenworth, and wrap up the week just as Northwest Overland Rally kicks off!
Jeep up the awesome work dad!!!!!!!!!!🙂
Cole Shontz I see what you did there. LOL
Hey Chris, hi from Maryland. PA jeep show this year?
Also, those look like Rubbermaid roughnecks in the back. Nice tote bin, snap close. Cheers
Also, look up Coyote works. Cool UA-camr in that region. Fellow jk owner.
Chris I don’t know if you will see this but, I am taking a chance on it. Get yourself some Thermacell products for the mosquitos and no see elms. They are excellent products and have lantern style as well as portable units. They are relatively inexpensive and work. I use them while hunting and camping here in Louisiana and Texas. I really enjoy your work.
Wait. Got wet in roof top tent?! Not good. I'd have to leave them moskeets. Chris, that was very nice of you not to crunch that chip. Thanks. I suffer from fibromyalgia and am extra sensitive to sounds, light, a lot of things that don't make sense. Unless you have this Mess. Some of y'all boys said that Clay a bit annoying. I don't know, just from this, he seem like a decent bloke. I check their channel to see for myself. I've left some channels when they start cussin', acting like know it all, and just general arrogant jerks. AND those that play that ridiculous background "music" mess! Whew, thanks Chris for NEVER using music! Takes away the peace.
Hi just discovered your channel...great stuff! What kind of awning/screened in tent is that at 9:33 along the drivers side? Awesome setup
Just stumbled across your channel, very nice. You got a new sub now.
Comments are turned off on your video with Marco. Everyone needs a friend like Marco!
i like how all your stuff packs in just so, try avon skin so soft for the mosquito's.
Hey Chris, hello from Virginia. I really enjoy your videos and hope to be out there myself soon. Safe travels.
7:37 What you did there was awesome and very noble ! thanks Chris
Sweet! I live in Leavenworth. And jeep all over the place here. Let me know if you need any pointers. Also, we are in cherry harvest. If you are still around make sure to stop by Smithson fruit stand at the mouth of blewit pass. You can buy some of my cherries! I’m an orchardist
HappyMicTv camping? Names of the off the beaten path places to set up overlanders vehicles ....not the KOA lol
Thanks
Oh me, Happy, Ethyl and I have just got to get up there!! We come get some cherries!! We're about 3,000 miles away, but retire in May, hope to do lot of travel in my F150 4x4 and get truck popup camper!!
@@takayama1638 I would suggest if you are traveling that much with the misses, you ditch the F150 4x4 and get a proper Motorhome. lol Maybe drag a UTV along behind it that is road legal. :)
You might have mentioned this before, but what is the spray hose setup you are using? Is it something you bought or something you put together? Enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!
Late reply, but it's a Nemo Helio foot pump shower
ROFLMFAO 😅😆😂😜
16:20 Bavarian background music hahahahaha lol
Buuut the very best was the Swedish Chef from the Muppets yodeling: 16:37 "il acch Kant berry sop my sue, deee yodelhudlveryhue" hahahahalollololol After spending nearly a decade in Munich, that is one of the funniest attempts at imitating Bavarians that I've ever seen. The guy really sounds like the "bincy-bouncy-meatballs" Swedish Chef.
We travel with a RTT on a Range Rover and have gone from Turkey to Scandinavia to Northern Africa, but the present political situation keeps us within those boundaries. We really enjoy your vids; we live vicariously through you :-p keep up the good work. Leavenworth really makes me LOL, tho
saw you walking around with the camera but had no idea who you are LOL . Please say hi next time you see us! Can give you the full tour of our Sprinter DOKA.
Have you ever thought about checking out the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia?
Dave
Hey Chris. It was good to meet you this year at NWOL. Look forward to running in to you out there again somewhere. Cheers!
19:33 squatch hair is that left over beard hair? ...lol👀😱. Keep up the great videos
Hello Chris, I saw your rig at the NW Overland Rally. It sure was fun! Maybe one day I will see you as well. Perhaps I missed you because of the beard. Safe Travels take your time and enjoy the State.
No winch but hey - nice work! Good to see you and your Jeep
working together as a team 😎
Another great video, with great shots. Thank you for letting us tag along!
Inspiring videos.
Love the adventures......do the same back east.
Chris your videos are awesome you rock keep them coming.
Xoverland channel have amazing gear but their show is just drama don't like it at all.
Love your channel keep it up
Manufactured drama at that.
Thanks for that tip about drama. Man, I DO NOT need drama!
Your channel is one of my favourite. Living in Oregon by way of vail ,co.You bring me great memories of traveling through Utah.Have you ever thought of getting a furry friend to keep you company.Keep on jeepin.
Any chance you're headed to the BC Overland Rally? If you do head into BC and/or the Vancouver area, hit me up!
Hope you had some OFF spray. You have been a lot of places without a winch. Great job
Greeting Chris! I just noticed that you have only 9,4 thousands subscribers, I wish this number will grow up and good luck to you in the future, thank you for what you do.
Your windows on your Jeep is always dirty...
No wonder I missed you, I came in on Friday. Looked high and low but alass no Chris or orange jeep.
Great video Chris, we also love your videos way over the pond in the UK 🇬🇧
I really like the quality of the video you put out, may I ask what camera and equipment that you use.
Thanks love your videos
Why did you censor the word “sucks”? Has UA-cam really gotten that strict?
The Hobo Express - probably better safe than sorry. YT is demonetizing a lot of things lately.
He’s a wholesome channel
Actually, I heard him say it on my iMac. However, not on my MacBook. Strange huh? Must be in the settings.
Wait, I thought you were the grilled cheese master!
great video again, specialy removing the fallen tree, keep up the nice reports off your travell. safe yourney.
Really like your adventures. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels!!
Awesome Job! New Subscriber! Now to catch up on all your videos!
I don’t like all the goofy survival ads. Too fear mongering. I watch this guy for info cause I also love to do overland in deep back country. Been camping in every way all my life and don’t enjoy those nuts scaring people into buying stuff.
Very cool! Love to see what you are going to get up to in the north west and and even maybe up in Canada, eh? See you next Friday!
Great job Chris! This episode was full of bangers. PNW series is going to be great
Wow, didn't know jeeps could do that! Impressive!
@13:13 Inquiring minds want to know: What are you running from?
I am your fan from india ...i love the way you do overlanding and enjoy the nature ..almost same hobby I have but due to my job .can't do it now but for sure in future I will do in india ...i think this is best way to live your life and enjoy the nature ..best of luck and keep rocking.
Thank you another great episode and thanks for cutting Clay short he is a bit annoying.
HA. I usually take the good with the bad with YT channels. But literally everything about that channel absolutely rubs me the wrong way. While I have a lot of respect for the guy making his dreams come true he really is just...ugh. Everyone in X Overland is like a weird cult and while technically spectacular from a cinematography standpoint it's just so trite from a content and narrative point of view and you could do most of their recent trips in a minivan which makes the mega-built rigs and paramilitary narrative about their logistics and planning and execution just seem so silly. It just keeps coming up in my related videos so I watch it just to groan now occasionally lol.
I enjoy their videos but I understand the criticism. At the same time who wouldn't want to get paid to do what they do...and with that comes the marketing.
hey guy living the dream ... seriously envious of your lifestyle .. wondering what your in closed side misquote netting side tent is.. and who makes it?? one thing i havnt seen is a review of your camping gear and what works for you. and another thing get a camping cook book bro you need to eat better.. easily done with the set up you have... thanks for your content and it great to see your adventures very cool !!!
You are seriously suggesting he needs to cook other things? He cooks what he wants.(bro) Except pizza. lol For that, the joy of finding a good joint in local towns is the challenge. Honestly, cannot imagine why people feel the need to try and control other peoples eating choices. He was making more palatable choices than I see most people do. But then, I suppose you need to tell them to get a cook book and eat better too. (bro)
You ended up in the Palouse area. Always windy, no trees, and lots of open space. It is an acquired taste.
I get why you dont like the wind now. The flapping in the camper is the worst
Haha, you caught me having a conversation with my pup at 23:57
Great video! I look forward to them every week. :-)
Driving over now and just got this notification. 🤙🏼
what awning and screen room are you using?
You really need to get a winch
Jen is on her own journey 😬
He does not seem to get into places that are too radical that require him to have one. And he needs his front bumper for that gear he mounts on it for his camping. lol
phục êwê - LOL
had forgotten about Jennifer so I went and looked her up, no new videos
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest. You've met the weather then, I see? Good. It changes on a dime and temperature can often vary as much as 40 °F. We don't faak around in the PNW. We wear layers and carry earplugs. Oh, and always camp in cover. Always, or you are going to pay one way or another. Backpacking maxims work well, from here north. Oh, 9:48 and Wenatchee is "when-ACH-ee" or "when-AT-chee". Why didn't you use the fire ring to make smoke and keep the mosquitoes away? This one is on you. :D
Chris, I know EXACTLY where you camped in E. Oregon! I wish I'd known about your channel last year, I'd have played host to my beautiful part of the country. You could easily do several videos on just this county.
Welcome to WA (squall), especially the east side of Cascades (my original home). Nice tree clearing. I am surprised you didn't run into the burn areas above Leavenworth from 2015. Wenatchee (Win-nat-chee). You should have fun with all the Indian names up there. Be sure to go over norther pass top of Cascades HWY20. Since you have your visa going into CANADA would be good also. Or even taking ferry across Pugent Sound to Olympic National Forest (with your park pass). Finding free places to camp might be a problem though on West side of Cascades. Looking forward to more of your adventures. You are doing a great job.
First off love the channel. That out of the way what is wrong with you people that go to these overlanding rallys? LOL. Especially Expo West? Double especially for anyone the lives East of the Mississippi. This isn't directed at just this channel at all but by others and just regular people who I know who all drive so far to these things just to get packed in like sardines. To live where the NF and BLM land is either non-existent, too crowded or just kind of sucky, and drive all the way out to where it is awesome and then wait in traffic jams and camp elbow to elbow with other people is MENTAL. I get seeking people with like interests and seeing cool rigs but these images of rigs lined up huffing each others exhaust fumes within 50 miles of complete desolation completely boggles my mind. :/
have you ever considered offering your GPS tracks (recorded GPS files for sale?) wow i sure would pay money for them. just a idea...keep up the good work ! love the videos man.
Chris your adventures is awesome. Welcome to my home state of Washington. I really enjoy watching your UA-cam channel. Stay safe! Best of luck.
Do you save your way points on some of the campsite you visit thay are some nice spots
Toilet is full man....why do you keep tugging on the door???
It is called humor. Do you really think he planted the camera there before he knew that just to show him going into an outhouse? LOL
Don’t miss Muchen Haus in Leavenworth and try the Icicle Brewing beers. I go for the kielbasa and dirty face Amber myself. 👍
Hi Chris thanks for all of your wonderful videos.keep up with the best work
Enjoying your channel from Korea~ Looks like you were parked across from Primal_Outdoors~ Safe & happy journey!
A lot of ghosts in that area ...
Chris, really awesome footage this week of the PNW. Seems just like yesterday you installed those BFGs; your opening showed the wear of sooooo many adventurous miles you’ve endured. Stay safe out there and continue making memories.
You should get a Titan fuel tank.
look younger with the beard cut
Another good one bud. Keep it up
That shower set up looked interesting, like to know more about it.this may be an old show I may have missed, I thought a shower tube might work nice.your thoughts?
i wouldnt sit there one slip its game over
Another awesome video. Sucks about the wind and rain but looks like you still had a great time this week. Keep living the dream!
Good to see you in the pnw, if you have time you might enjoy doing parts of wabdr also check in with the crew from mule they are very knowledgeable of the area and probably could point you in the direction of some great places to check out.
Matthew Moehring the crew from mule? Link to info please thanks
@@Ibitehardcore1 mule expedition outfitters in issaquah
Kev B Thanks!
24:55 the awkward moment you realize you forgot your black jacket and khaki pants.
need to know national forest location around the usa ...are free camping or do I need a membership ?
I’m confused. Is the camper not rain proof 🤔🤨?
Two guesses. 1. the wind noise and flapping were too loud to sleep. 2. It was hot enough to make it uncomfortable to zip the windows up.
@@jeep6242 And #3, seems a lot of people are not paying close enough attention to the fact, he got soaked when he put the tent down for the night. I did not see him getting soaked being in the tent.
The weather up there this last weekend was weird. I definitely did not pack for cooler weather. Glad I got to meet ya at the rally.
Uauuu que show receber um bilhete com amor.
Abraços aqui do Brasil. 😘🚐🌴🌸
It looks like you could grow an epic moustache to ride along with you on your epic adventure? It’d keep you company etc? Also it could act as an emergency food store. Multiple advantages.
love the pop up built into he jeep, where can I find one? and do they make it for 2 door jeeps?
It's the Ursa Minor J30 camper and is only available for the 4 door. - www.ursaminorvehicles.com/campers/jeep-camper.html
Having serious Venture4wd cravings! Chris, your vlog is awesome and we can't wait for more!!
What a life ,stay happy.
6:23 did you mute you saying "sucks" thinking it would offend someone?
Don't forget to grab some U Dub lab weed was while your there.
Great video! What kind of screen room are you using? Looks cool!
Hey, at least thee heavy rain helped wash the bugs off your windshield
You should've done a walkthrough of that monster in 23:44 it looks badass
Are we having fun yet ?
Looks like your lucky you didn't camp in the mountains lol!
Warm weather + camping around water = mosquitoes.
But you can blame it on the Pacific Northwest, we have
enough people around here as it is! haha.
I like your videos, keep em coming.
I already gave another reviewer the history of our Mosquito infestation. How we released them into the area in 1941 when civilian Jeeping became popular. And we wanted to reduce the tourists to our fun times. :)
I really enjoy your vids...I just love Fridays, because I get to see your next vid.. Wile your in Wa. State go see MT St Helens. I was here when she went off. and a year later went up and shot photo's then 3 years later and then 10 years later. I was doing a roof in Tacoma and saw the clouds of ash...that was a big day 1980, May 18th. Go the back road by Castle Rock, off I5, the new road was made from some of the ash from the Mt. it sparkles at night. And go see Fresh Water lake.
I hate to burst your bubble, I was just there in the summer of 2018. Boring. Looks like any other forest around here with a well maintained road going up and down. Mt. St. Helens was interesting back in the day. But there should be no disputing how awesome Rainier is. Its roads are windier. They are steeper, they are paved, but in the winter might as well be a set up for tracked vehicles. As for summer time, eh. The beauty of Rainier is in the winter when she has her full coat of snow on. Summer time is great for camping and hiking. No pets allowed on the trails. ;) Paradise has some interesting tourist attractions. And while the lodge is a wee bit expensive with rooms and food, it is worth a look as well. :) And there are of course a lot of places in the PNW that one can go for his type of exploring.
Quite a bit of @teamoverland in this video! Awesome!
Nice video.. will follow and subscribed. The problem you had with the rain and wind effect on your pop-up is the reason why Ive been shy to get one for my JK. I know guys swear by them, but concerned about bad weather.. Seems like a good solid tent is always a better way to go. Would love to get your honest input on this. tks
The biggest pro to a rooftop tent is it keeps your gear from touching mud. I run a proper SUV where I can camp inside it. Safe from the bugs, reptiles, mud, rain, wind, hail, snow.. did I miss anything? Probably the only draw back is how much gear one carries with them. However, the roof, instead of a tent, has a cargo carrier basket that makes up the difference. Not to mention if you need even more junk on your travels, you can get a hitch carrier as well. :) I pack light. Emergency gear, recovery gear and food. I don't need all that fancy camper crap packing around with me. If I wanted all that, I would get a camper. ;)
great job on your EXPLORING
been following you quite a bit and keep running in to the cooker you show at the end of this video...could you tell me where I could get one? or let me know if you need my email, etc. Great vids and enjoying my new to me tj jeep as well.
search Skottle stove and you'll have all the info you need :)
thank you very much; found it
Nice video .. Oregon and Washington are beautiful .. I live here and not many places match it .. You need to get a dog, your life appears a bit lonely .. They are great to share adventures with .. You could pick up a nice one at a local shelter .. He would love to share your adventures with you ..
I don't suppose you are a dog lover are you? lol So much of this region seems to be. He travels so much and needs his freedom to go w/out worrying about pet care. And no, I am not a hater of animals. Just saying I have the same travel freedom and reasoning for going w/out a pet. ;)
The having to get outside and close the camper due to the storm has solidified my choice in getting a Sprinter 4x4, specifically the Winnebago Revel.
IF your adventures are even less extreme than these, than yes, not a bad plan. But do not expect it to compete with the same terrain. I personally thought his ability to go in and out of the tent from his vehicle was unique and cool. Cannot do that from the SUV's most commonly used for overloading. :) As for putting it away in the rain, that was his choice. He could have tried to wait it out and put it away the next morning. Personally, being from the PNW I would expect that kind of thing and either camped someplace else or solidified my spot with an added rain tarp on top of the tent before I battened down the hatch. lol But he trusted the weather report. So there ya have it. :)
Can you tell us what the names of the Campgrounds you stayed at?
Keep traveling!
Thanks for sharing!
I think he is to busy making videos to monitor the countless comments. :)
Are you going to be at the north west overland rally?
Wow, I was thinking about getting one of these rooftop Minors. However, after seeing how wet you got for the price of these tents is very discouraging.
While I would not discourage your reasoning, I did not see him get went IN the tent. Only from his time putting it away. Have to go outside to put it away. And it was raining heavily when he did that. And actually, IF I were to buy one, I really thought his was cool because he could crawl into his jeep or vice versa from it. Something one CANNOT do in a typical SUV rooftop tent.
Cool I plan on being at NWOR on Saturday hope to see you there.
I enjoy and look forward to your videos. Safe travels.
