The lady, and the patterns on those pillows are from my people. The patterns determine which clan you are from within us Hmong. We are Hmong and known to be called the mountain people. I swear i saw this guy wyoming
I aways do it all the time I make room for cyclists, some people on the road don't move over for anybody I even seen people blocking emergency vehicles even though lights siren's and horns blowing.
They probably had their music on to loud and a lot of people don't use their mirrors.
I think they should get their licence revoked.
Place your diesel cap on your driver seat while you refill. You’ll never forget it.
I'm surprised that it's not tethered some how
Yeah, mine is tethered *and* there's a support for it on the inside of the fuel door so you have a place to put it while refuelling.
If you need one Cap, buy 3.
@@mikehoncho9344 Real men wear diesel cologne
After having the same problem around the farm losing several caps, I adopted the same idea of placing the non-tethered cap on the driver's seat, haven't lost a cap since!

Everything you said. Exactly.
There is Also a TRAILER he has too for it Which is kustomized its partially the REMOVED bed , BUILT into Trailer with all kinds of EQUIMPENT storage
Driving a diesel car in -51C is insane to me. Personally i managed to crack the windshield of my car having the heat on in -28C. That gas has to be dummy thick at -51C. Looks like he has addressed all those issues. As a Norwegian i do have to respect the hustle.
Ford... Like a rock! Love the drone shots. How much fuel do you carry in that rig?
Those 7.3 power stroke diesels are the best diesel engines ever built. They have never let me down!
Agreed! I've worked on many 6.0, 6.4 and 6.7's but only a few 7.3's and really think Ford has been going backwards with their diesel development. 7.3's are very reliable and while they can't make as much power as the later engines...I'll take stone reliable over a few horsepower any day of the week.
I work at the plant that builds the super duty pickup, every guy that I work with, is always looking out for those 7.3’s to buy.
7.3 litre?
yup@@jammybizzle666
The Gen 1 and 2 5.9s as well. I had a 96 7.3 just like this guy. Few maint items which were obnoxious.
As a commercial driver who drove in a snow for three years, I can't imagine somebody that would do it for fun.
It’s for likes and followers, not fun.
Honestly? If I had the money and time I would do it. It's extreme, it can be frightening, but the feeling of succeeding in such harsh and unforgiving environments, the self-reliance, and the solitude would make it worthwhile in my opinion. Man has always had a drive to explore, to defy Mother Nature, and I appreciate that drive.

I would absolutely do it for fun. When I retire my plan is to ride a snowmobile and ride from NH to AK.

As a long haul trucker for the past 16 years, I’ve driven through all sorts of crazy weathers all 48 states and all over Canada. The determination it takes to drive an old Ford truck to the Arctic Ocean in -60F is unmatched! Your journey is a testament to the spirit of adventure and the enduring charm of classic trucks. Keep on trucking
I remember when those trucks were new with that fancy Power Stroke logo. It doesn't feel all that long ago.
He is not being honest. It WAS NOT -60F degree. Had it been I doubt that his truck would even start. The -60 claim was the windchill. Windchill IS NOT temperature. If the windchill is a -60 with a 55MPH wind, then the actual low temperature would have been a -20F degrees. If the actual temperature would have been a -60 with a 55MPH wind, then the windchill would have been -118.
@@JohnSmith-ug5ci Exactly, although yes he did read what the weather report said and I see this happening a lot in videos from the lower 48 with people exclaiming how cold it was when in fact it was wind chill being regurgitated from the tv as the actual low. Some people don't grasp the difference and just blurt out the lower number because that propaganda stuck in their head. I have to wonder how many trucks even take the risk and move if its a true -60 and windy on top of that, the risk of things going wrong would be great and certainly no one would be turning off their engines. There is a reason why they rig trucks up that go on that road and other arctic roads with coolant hoses that route into and back out of the fuel tanks to keep the diesel temps up so it won't start crystallizing/jelling. Don't get me wrong, -20 with a a 55 mph wind would be nasty and potentially deadly to put it lightly.
The long crack in the windshield amidst the freezing temperatures and wind concerns me.
@@DogBeast221 I would guess you don't drive on gravel roads much or at all, there is a whole world out there of gravel roads and windshields to prove it. Its what I have lived around all my life as in a rural farming area and gravel roads vastly outnumber the distance of pavement around here. Never mind that they spread gravel chips on the icy paved roads in the cities where I am and can get a broken windshield very easily. Get a star burst hit or even a chip on a windshield in the wrong place and when it gets colder and are using the defrost, the glass heats up unevenly causing forces and like clock work the crack zips across the lower portion of the windshield.

Pro tip from a Cajun bro, there’s a lot easier and fool proof way to make a roux and not burn it whilst constantly having to stir it. Once you’ve got it started on the stove top on med low heat, put it in the oven at 300 and stir well every 10-15 minutes until you get it to the color you’re looking for. Indirect heat is the secret.
Pretty amazing that your drone operates in such frigid conditions

I have so many questions and suggestions. First suggestion, look into a webasto system. It draws from your diesel at a rate of 1 gallon every 24 hours but it heats your coolant and recircs it through your engine while it's not running. Makes it do much easier to start. It also will heat the cab through a single blower that you could run to the van or divert to the cabin. It puts off so much heat it melted a back pack of mine. You'll sweat in there at minimal fuel. Look into it bud. That's what us truck drivers use. You don't have to let anything run, saving on fuel and get the most out of the fuel you have. Game changer for someone like you and you'll always have wood as a backup cuz you'll never need to use it. It'll get so warm you can't stand it but it is adjustable
that's what he uses to heat his shack on the back lol..
I thought he used a small diesel heater 🤔 @@mitchellyoung9889
Def needs a webasto and a snorkel for that truck
@@mitchellyoung9889Well he uses a different kind. The regular dry type. But yes he should seriously consider one of the hydronic style for the engine warming.
The complexity of flying your drone while driving in this crap isn't lost on me.
That 7.3 is a great engine. My E-350 work van has one and I have racked up 375K miles and it still runs great. The body is a rusted mess but I consistently get 14.5 to 15.5 mpg.

First time watching your videos, the power stroke drew me in tbh 🤣 I used to work on them in a performance shop and you made a good point about starting, people have issues because they have worn out parts on there (starter, injectors etc) one thing I’d recommend if you don’t have one already is a fuel lift pump, will really help the longevity of the fuel system by making your main fuel pumps life a lot easier especially with the constant weight of your camper, also keeps water out of your fuel system which can be death to a diesel. Glad to see you’re putting diesel kleen in that old girl too 👍🏼

Hey man....keep up this amazing work! Your work really gives us the chance to experience these beautiful places with you! The style in which you document your experiences really makes the viewer feel like they are there with you...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
The best way to not lose your fuel cap is to leave it on the pump rather than the vehicle.
As you said, putting a chain on it would work.
Also, buying two might have been a good idea so you have a spare.
-60F was with the windchill, not the actual temperature. Windchill is how cold it "feels" on exposed skin (which people have little of at those temps). I'm curious to know what the actual temp was. Cold for sure though!
WInd chill applies to the effect of the environment on exposed skin. If the wind was 30 mph then the actual temp was -25 degrees. Cold enough but -60 sounds more dramatic.
We used to play hockey in Montreal in -35 degrees Celsius. You get used to cold.
Ditto. I'm always amazed at how many people don't get this simple concept.
All if this is true, but the felt experience of -60 is what matters when you're in it.
You are absolutely right Daniel. That is the definition of wind chill. I have been in those conditions and can say that it demands the utmost respect. An unprepared person can be quickly overwhelmed and even someone who thinks they are prepared can get into trouble fast. I enjoyed the video and think that your decision to turn around was brilliant. I wish other you tubers were as smart or honest in their videos....
Oh sorry for the pain in your arms God bless
You. Tks for the video , friend is over and we are enjoying it
To help with the extreme cold blast against your motor, there’s 3 things j can think of to help.
1- bungee cord a piece of cardboard, tote lid, something over your grill to help with direct wind blast and robbing your engine of heat
2. Put a thick wool blanket over the engine after shutting off to help keep some internal heat
3. Block heater

That's what gave our country such robust people 300 plus years ago when they started traveling to the interior of America. Congratulations on having courage and show people how it's done or in the direction of getting it done. Good fortune's ahead for you!
Oh man, I have four bulged discs in my neck and I have the same exact pain you're describing. I hate the terrible pain from typing and I'm sorry you feel it too. New to your channel and I'm just loving it! I love Alaska. God bless you and keep you safe!

You can't beat a 7.3 IHC...
I worked 26 years in Prudhoe, from 1980-2006. Never drove the Dalton. I would drive about 50 miles South to fish for Grayling. We would see some strange camping rigs mostly in the Summer. I remember an old Cadillac with a wood stove in it. The tough ones were those that cycled up to Prudhoe. Enjoyed the video.
The scenery is so beautiful! thanks for the video, Happy New Year 🎊
Wow the Drone views of your truck you can tell those new lights are making a hell of a lot more difference in visibility range
Driving and following the drone. Now that's class.😊
Tractor trailers have 2 driveshafts. One connects the front rear to the trans and goes through the front rear axle that can be turned on or off to another driveshaft to the rear axle. The rear rear is used all the time. There's a switch on the dash that actuates the front rear to help if you're lacking traction. It's called the interaxle lock. Some trucks also have a differential lock that will give them all 8 rear tires spinning.
Thank you.. non-trucker here, came to the comments just for this
@@mattmag3089 you're welcome, I kinda did a shit job explaining it though haha!
