    So much in this video to love.
    First, how you deal with the re-engine haters. I love the rattle of the diesel, but the power of a modern V8 cannot be undersold.
    You two and your videography are second to none. and it was exemplified by the video of the camera that was videoing your progress. And the shot just before that going through the creek.
    When you 'set your alarm' I snickered. It reminded me of when you were verifying the torque in a previous video. "Click-Cick!" BTW, I used that same method at work when we were assembling something. That got a laugh from an old-timer I was working with and it worked great!

    I'm guessing you've already solved the tire issue on Silver, but if not, it would be cool to see you sport a set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers and then hear your take on off road performance. Don't think I've ever seen any of the YT overlanders have a set and do a review based on personal experience on the trails.

    You wouldn't have needed the words "let's see which one of these old rigs will break down first" if you wouldn't be able to say "but I won't be able to hear you over the snarl of the 400hp 350". Just saying, there's a reason a Toyota is a draw in the first place, and you swapped out the reason.

  • @jasonmuse1866
    @jasonmuse1866 13 днів тому

    It cracks me up that you keep saying you won't be able to hear the Toyota purists complaining over the blah blah horsepower and blah blah torque like you need either of those for the crap you do.
    Congratulations you took a really old cool unique truck and put Chevy crap into it just like every other fudd and now it's no longer as unique and cool. Glad it's louder I guess?

    I am sorry! I love you guys! But when you think that small block chevy puts out alot of torque and HP I am rolling on the floor laughing! The 1KZ-TE in my friends Jeep we just finished puts out that Torque at 1500rpm and gets 30mpg. It will also pick up a front tyre under acceleration. Living in America and building V8's on a daily basis I am truly sick and tired of people saying how great they are. They run occasionally and can not pass a gas station to save a life! Dinosaurs that were designed and built in 50's. Technological and efficiency has moved along since then. We also went to the moon, just to let you know. Anyhow rant over. Love you guys!

    • @CruisinHills
      @CruisinHills Рік тому

      The Ramjet 350 puts serious power down, and the cost per horsepower is incredibly low. Not to mention attainable, and cheap to maintain. That HJ45 came to them with a small block already in it. Swapping to a Ramjet makes more sense than anything, really. I wish we could come about a 3 litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel that put out that power, and got 30 mpg's! Think of all the dinos we could save! But that engine doesn't exist here. The Cummins R2.8 can't touch that power. And is twice as expensive. And would take a great deal of fabrication to swap in. That's a lot of stops at gas stations before you even start to touch that bill for your hypothetical diesel lol. Also, how in the world are your pulling 400 foot/pounds of torque from a 1KZ-TE that's rated for 245 from the factory? Not impossible, I'm sure, but now we're talking reliable power. How much boost does it take to make that? Ramjet is naturally asperated, and the embodiment of reliable power. No replacement for displacement, amiright? Lol. Toyota diesel swaps make absolutely no sense for us in the states. We never got them, and the cost for a used, underpowered motor that would have to be imported, makes sense on no day that ends in Y. I'll stick to the small block swaps! Cheers!

    • @SimonElenor

      @@CruisinHills LOL. I am in Clarksville TN. I need to do a few videos of it just don't have the time. Underpowered LOL. You need to learn humility. There are a couple of videos on my channel. Also been driving for quite a while now with no problems. The Ramjet is ok I guess. But the amount of overheating problems he has had and the mpg i will just pass. I work on chevys daily they pay the bills. Thanks though. The diesel is running unichip and a few other external mods.

      @@SimonElenor wait, why did I think you were from outside the US. 😂 Humility is disagreeing with someone, but not having to comment on every single one of their videos.

    • @SimonElenor
      @SimonElenor Рік тому +1

      @@CruisinHills also you probably thought that because it is hard to get decent engines over here. That's why as a non profit we are trying to promote more efficient engines. Also promoting different fuel sources that re not electric. But we are still crazy. We are building a 6bt land cruiser, 392 2013 jku and a 2.0tdi tacoma (mine). Also a few others. We are a non profit that helps service members retired or active.
