      @@dangerousfables And your point is? In UK they wield machetes, melee weapons are arguably scarier, the chance of death is the same but the injury may be far greater if you do survive.. And because of how much easier it is to get away with violence using a melee weapon (no ejected cases, no captured rounds..), there is a higher chance of the intruder actually using it.. Also there are more cases of violence with HAMMERS in US than with rifles, and this is a REAL statistic..

    • @dangerousfables
      @dangerousfables 3 роки тому +11

      @@bo-dine7971 Not true. Actually if you look at the stats only around 25% of burglaries in the UK are classed as aggravated burglary, which is when they carry a weapon (knives, etc included). You can store it with Co2 canister just don’t puncture it until you are ready to use.

    • @danbruuu7938
      @danbruuu7938 3 роки тому +10

      yep exactly - was looking for this comment as was going to say - as far as I've seen advertised it's very design is supposed to enable a quick, sharp tap to the underside of grip to engage and puncture the canister - allowing you to keep it safely with the gas inside and at the ready for any length of time - right up until when you actually (hopefully not) need to use it in defence - it can simply be smacked on the underside and then the gas is punctured. At which point the cannister should then be removed and disposed of, replacing it with another fresh one into the chamber, ready to be sharply smacked and punctured when it would actually be needed again :)
      SO YES IT IS INTENDED BY ITS VERY DESIGN TO BE STORED WITH GAS ALREADY INSIDE TO SAVE TIME IF EVER NEEDED FOR ITS PURPOSE OF HOME DEFENCE. SIMPLY DO NOT KEEP AN ALREADY STRUCK (PUNCTURED) AND USED CANNISTER INSIDE THE GRIP, AS IT WILL DETERIORATE THE QUALITY OF THE O-RING AIR SEALS INSIDE, REDUCING PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY. LEAVE A FRESH ONE IN THERE, UNPUNCTURED BY THE SMACK TO IT - AND KEEP FAR OUT OF REACH AND HIDDEN AWAY FROM ANY CURIOUS, YOUNG HANDS!!!
      and you'd be golden :) just to clear that up a bit for anyone who was wondering like me about that.

(2) It’s a repeater, & if you put half a dozen rounds into someone’s face from less than 10m , most assailants (unarmed or carrying a simple weapon) will say ouch and review the situation (3) If that doesn’t work, it’s heavy and strong enough to batter them with, before they’ve finished reviewing the situation.

      Think of it like this, if someone breaks in your home at night and you shoot them with ANYTHING, they will assume it's a firearm. They're already nervous as it is, entering a home that's not theirs so their first reaction is to run away or shoot back blindly and run away. From my experience watching home surveillance videos of people using firearms to defend themselves in their homes, intruders have always fled immediately even if they weren't hit.

      @@harrysweeten9417 I think you’re right that most burglars don’t want to confront people. But then burglars wait until no one is home. The people who break in knowing people are home, aren’t there just to take stuff, they want to also hurt people or they wouldn’t break in while people are home. So, when it comes to using this as self-defense, you’re definitely going to just make them mad, and they will kill, beat, or rape you the same as if you didn’t have this.

      @@Datsamoutful True enough, but you can load the "gun" with pepper rounds, My department used them to put down a number of disturbances and the pepper in the slugs did incapacitate the subjects and make others run for cover.
      Plus it's easy to say that shooting someone is the thing to do but it's not what most people want to do.
      And let's put this sinairo in the mix, the noise coming from your back door turns out to be your neighbors teenage kid who got drunk and was simply at the wrong house,
      I could live with giving him three welts to the chest a lot easier than three holes.
      I know for all the years I carried a gun I was glad it was just a decorative tool on my belt.

      @Datsamoutful 3 роки тому

      @@harrysweeten9417 i would agree that not just most people, but I would think nobody “wants” to shoot someone, especially in their own home. However, pepper spray is not always effective. It rarely works on people that are high on several different drugs. It doesn’t even work on every person who isn’t high.
      Disbursing a disturbance is significantly different than trying to stop a determined assailant. When you’re talking about your average leftist protest/riot, most of those people are spoiled children, not hardened criminals with intent to murder, beat, or rape someone. The motivation to stay and fight just isn’t there in your average SJW protestor.
      Answering your scenario: Anyone who is using a weapon of any kind to defend their home, should not be using it on just anyone, without identifying a threat. As a person who carried a “decorative tool” on your belt for years, I would hope that you would know that. Everyone who is anti-gun, automatically assumes anyone holding a gun loses all sense of right and wrong, or is incapable of making rational decisions about its use. That is simply because those kinds of people believe everyone else is just as irrational and emotional as they are, which is simply not the case. People who defend their homes with guns, rarely, and i mean RARELY, shoot someone without provocation. I have read hundreds of accounts of firearms being used in self defense in the home, and I can think of less than a half dozen were they didn’t know who they were shooting at. In those cases the person was almost always charged with some crime, at very least negligent discharge of a firearm.

    • @harrysweeten9417
      @harrysweeten9417 3 роки тому

      @@Datsamoutful Well it seems we kinda agree on most of this debate, but not everyone is proficient with a firearm.
      As for my riot control experience it was in a jail and we were outnumbered by 5 to 1 in a maximum block, these weren't just spoiled brats that watched too much TV.
      The bottom line is, there are many choices for the self defense of ones self, but it still comes down to how far the individual will go and can live with after they're done.
      You do make some valid points with your argument and I am enjoying the conversation.
