I got my TR50 /7.5 Joules.Also ordered/got the upgrade valve kit to
boost from 7.5 joules to 27 joules from HomeDefence-24 to turn it into a
Home Defense gun instead of a paintball gun.
27 joules?????
@@sebastienkeys HomeDefence-24 people said the HDR/TR50 /7.5 joule version with there upgraded valve kit is more powerful than the HDR/TR50 /11 joule marker with there valve kit because the air chamber is bigger.Instead of over 30 shots per Co2,with valve kit I get 12 shots now and will shoot a rubber ball thru 20 layers of cardboard @ 20ft.This extended barrel from HomeDefence-24 made the difference also.en.homedefence-24.com/Collections/run-hdr50/Products/tuning-barrel-tuning-barrel-t4e-hdr-50-steel-with-thread-2-attachments?variant=31994853851254

Good initiative if you live in the UK, having an modified hdr 50 is not worth a real gun (I know about your laws) but is far better than nothing.
It can be a good home defense equipment ! It can get the job done or help counter an attack.
stay safe.
er yeah that'd be dumb, you'd be sent to jail for a minimum of five years for the unliscensed possesion of a firearm and it's less effective than using a bat or something to defend yourself
Just get a Cobra RX Adder for self defense just as good as some guns.
@@DarkShroom in most cases, an intruder would be scared off by a modified HDR50.
If retribution is your goal, however... there's always peppershot, and you don't have to have a dead body to deal with.
If dealing death is your goal... I dunno, just do you. But this has its use.
@@DarkShroom I'm in UK it's CO2 as long as it's not been modified with any power modes it's ok 11 joules version start shooting that at intruder they going to run they get hit with the rubber balls they going to hurt I no been shot with them had coat on still hurt if you practice with this you can get a really fast reload s
@@DarkShroom Wrong. It's actually 5 years maximum not minimum. A maximum sentence would suggest previous prosecutions, and depending on circumstances/character might just be a fine, especially for a toy gun like this. However, the firearms act states that a paintball gun is not considered a firearm, so it is not even covered by airgun law. If you shot frangible ammo and could show evidence that you didn't buy the gun for home defence, you actually could use it against an intruder legally in self defence with no concerns about being prosecuted at all.
thanks man for your videos. I realy enjoy your sense of humor and I always learn . Keep up the good work.
For home defense it's a little bit naughty haha I like that
I like my 4.0 S&W Sig P229 and ,45 ACP.Dan Wesson Bobtail Commander... but I got one of these to give me a non-lethal option
Thinking that an airgun is "naughty" for home defense is so very british
A razorgun devastator projectile and a velocity of 100 m/s? It would be interesting to see the impact effects on a block of ballistic gel, or on a coconut...
Great channel question best place to buy the devastator ammo from ?
I just bought the gun, but the upgrade is no longer as simple (probably updated design). The valve blocker is now being held in place by 3 little tabs preventing it from being pulled out. I had to remove them and actually completely disassemble the gun to knock the blocker out from the other side. But it's fairly easy to disassemble and re-assemble
I just did it to a brand new one. Those 3 little things are actually some kind of rails, it doesn't block the valve, but I had to use a metal hook and pull it out with all my force. So it doesn't just slide easily on the rails.
@@vladx2935 seems stuck in place how did u remove it
@@vladx2935also hast du nur den Valve Blocker entfernt? Keine Tuningteile hinzugefügt? Das funktioniert mit mehr Power?
i thought the same thing but its an illusion, its just a track that holds it in place it slides right out
there's a different valve part you have to replace as well to do the full upgrade, it's inside the black part of the barrel
So did this modification on a HDP 50 to test out with a Chrony what the result were and they were interesting. Though the gun did have a much louder sound and even felt like there was more power, the loss of FPS was dramatic of almost 2/3rds loss. I didn't expect this being it seemed like it would work but it didn't.
I got 2-3 joules extra, tested on the chrono.
Basta usare i devastator e aumenta di 3 Joule
Hello! I was going to purchase a “20j” mod from ebay for over $60 dollars. SO glad I found your channel and this video, who knew I would only have to remove a piece of aluminum to get the same power! Thank you!
what if you removed the piece and also used the mod together with it
@@deltashot5608 well, they both kind of achieve the same goal, so it’s really one of the other I believe. In my case I will likely have to purchase the rocket mod 😭😤 but we’ll see. I’m hoping I can just drill the cone out
Love your videos, informative and funny 😊
If you live outside of the UK and want the full power version , order it from the Netherlands , it won't have any anti tamper screws fitted so you can tinker away .
What’s the site mate very interested
Great video. However, will such an upgrade not damage the revolver? I am still curious what the power is after such improvement. Can you really expect 20 J? ;) If you could do a chronometer test it would be great. Greetings from Poland ;].
Hoping to get a chrono very soon and will check what the power really is.
@@Maddogairguns and? does it?
@DER SCHATTEN 😦
Quite a fun actually..
Although I use an antique status revolver for kind of self defense-a Smith Wesson old model army #2 that I modified to work with very powerful .27 nail gun blanks first of all slightly reinforced the structure and made 6 adapters to chamber these blanks while bullets are loaded from the other side of the cylinder! So now I have that thing in Canada and it's legal to carry it unloaded so I just have to keep the gun itself and the loaded cylinder separately until I will either be able to load it and shoot wherever it is legal to do so(for instance on the crown land like the forest which is less than half a mile from my place)-or in case of self defense too if necessary!Because it is done very fast and easy to load in case!
Respect to you mate 👍
This video saved me money! love the video! Thank you so much.
Going to pull out the valve pin and be John Wick baby!
Great video Sir! Looking forward to the next video showing results against targets and hopefully some chronograph numbers
Next video coming I shot at a pumpkin, don’t have a chrono yet but should have one coming for future videos.
thanks for this guide, very easy to follow, cheers mate :)
Pumpkins work great and they're inexpensive. Great video, thanks for going through the steps to do the mod. 😁
The wife picked up a pumpkin for that very reason, just waiting for good weather to film.
Come and have fun in my group “ hdr50 love & homedefence”
Love your video..
I have heard you can pimp your gun to about 350 joules. That's a killer to defence
If I were you I would check out .50 cal muzzle loading sabot slugs. Much better ballistics than round balls.
Good on you. Don't waste food.
“No I won’t shoot a lump of meat” 🥩 🤣🤣🏆🏆🏆🏆
THANK YOU FROM WASHINGTON STATE
No wasting meet. At last someone reasonable on yt.
Meat is too expensive to waste, I might at some point get some cheap stuff that we feed the Mutts (raw food diet) and try shooting that.
Love your videos. Verry infomative. Can you please make a video on how to tune hdr 68 7,5 joule to full power?
I've only got an HDR.68 in 16 joules, which I will be taking apart at some point. I think the only difference between the two are the valve block and CO2 restricter disc (which is likely missing from the 7.5joule version).
Muchas gracias, saludos desde Chile🇨🇱
Lograste quitarle la pieza? Funciona?
Great video mate, made me laugh about the meat, so true what you said ah.
Really interesting. Where did you get your one from? Can’t see anywhere in the uk where they’re not out of stock. New subscriber.
Ok umerex your on to something here now we need more ammo capabilities what I'm saying is we need a 25 shot mag design
Great video!
You can shoot meat and still eat it later. Not like hunters do anything other. There's not even any gunpowder involved! ;-)
Love to see the longer barrel mod.
If you ever jump across the pond, we'd be happy to let you play with some actual handguns! But I like what you did there.
We can have real guns here, but have a few hoops to jump through first. One being, finding a wheelchair accessible range to go and get a license. I'm happy enough with Air and Black powder for now, but you never know in the future perhaps.
My TR50 has a metal cone instead of the valve block featured in your video, can I just drill through it to achieve the same effect as removing it? Because I won’t budge, can’t remove it. Thinking of drilling it out
Could be a new design, to stop people from messing with their guns. The greater the space in that chamber, the more CO2 per shot you will get. Any modifications are up to you, but I would have a go if it were me.
Need get a mod for it if it's 7.5 joules
Is it a 11 j version? Did you try it??
Now that you it's been awhile since you took out that little piece, are there any long term negative effects with the gun? Is it hard on the seals? How many shots do you get out of a full co2 cartridge compared to when it was at 11 joule?
No long term effects that I can tell, now get a good 12-14 shots per CO2.
@@Maddogairguns and before change, how many good shots ?
@@Maddogairguns I did it on my hdr 50 7.5 joule the power has increased a lot but I can't make more than 4 strokes why?

Great video! Did you try the modification to the HDP 50 model as well?
No. I only have the HDR.
@@Maddogairguns I don't see the point of the HDP 50.
Both are 6 shot capacity.
@@Maddogairguns hi ! Nice video. Can you try with HDP 50 please . Because the kit more power is too expensive . If your Hdr idea work on HDP will be GREAT !
And work on co2 insulation so it shoots well in any weather
I just bought one in Canada it's called TR50
thanks for the video. where did you get the 11 joule in the UK?
I live in France and bought it out here. But if your going to modify the gun at all you will get better results with the 7.5joule.

Where would you buy the 'restricted ' full power version in the UK ? Thanks.
@Disco Stu Thanks for the heads up.
@Disco Stu www.daileisure.co.uk/umarex-hdr-50-revolver They are the only UK seller of the 11J version.. I got mine a few days ago....yippy
I was told by the guy in the shop the 11j is okay as long as it is paintball only but I don't believe him as I think he's trying to offload it.
I bought my 11 joule from a legitimate air gun shop local to me. So yes you can buy them here in the uk.
I'm from the US so I carry 9mm daily and can have basically whatever we want legally , I hunt fish etc etc but man I am super intrigued with the new airgun surge and I'm curious can you all in the EU and UK carry this on your person ? I hate that your gun laws are so so strict but if this is a loophole I watched someone willingly get shot with this gun and just rubber ball and it seriously did some damage Wich brings me to my next point , this could seriously save your life in a bad situation over there . Yes it's not a actual pistol 9mm 40cal etc etc but it is powerful enough that this could greatly benefit you in the onslaught of an attack . So home defense 💯 but can you carry it out and about? That would be great just for emergencies.
No, not allowed to carry it, with the intention of using it, even if it is for self defense. You can transport from place to place if you have a valid reason, going to range or paintball ground etc. At least here in France anyway.
Even in a home defense situation, if you were to use it on someone breaking into your home, you would likely end up in court.
As a farmer i wish it would rain more here😂
it works but after a short period the increase pressure will damage the internal valve O-ring and your gun will start leaking...if you have spare O-rings or find them anywhere , please let me know, I wasn't able to find any!
I have seen this kit, not sure if its what you need. www.toro-distribution.com/kit-reparation-percussion-pour-revolver-t4e-hdr-hdp-050-umarex-p-14986
@@Maddogairguns I appreciate it but all the service kit sets I've found, including this one does not have the O-ring where the firing pin enters the valve, the clear blue O-ring in this set is for the internal part of the co2 puncture unit that comes with it...:((
Apparently there is no O ring where the firing pin enters the valve, its just metal to metal snug enough to seal.
@@Buckydhu you're wrong. It can be seen while dismantled. It's transparent green colored.
I didn't understand from the video what you did to increase the power. You just removed that metal element pulled out with a screw?
Hi there, dous this work for the hdr68 allso? Thanks for the nice video
when I put the cartridge in and then smash the vent you know the bottom cap all the all the CO2 just leaks out in about 3 seconds
This mod is way more useful when it's actually illegal in your country. Then you SHOULD do it.
If it’s illegal in your country, then it’s up to you. Here it’s not.
In the Uk the maximum power output for a handgun is 6lbf or 8.13 jules anything over that is classed as a firearm and is illegal to own you might just get away with the 7.5j version but i wouldn't want to Risk it
Exactly! Which is why I put the disclaimer at the start of the video. I know some in the UK are going for the 11joule as they claim it’s a paintball marker, but if you shoot someone even in self defence then I think your in for some trouble. Here in France we can have 20joules either rifle or hand gun.
Hi there, thanks for the video. I have another question; have you got any experience with painting the sights of a gun with tritium (or something else). Had to go out last night when the chickens were attacked (by a fox I guess) en the sights on the HDR50 are so dark, you can`t really aim (if needed)
Sorry I’ve no experience of painting the sights. I’m guessing that just a couple of dabs with white paint would be an improvement.
Attach a red dot sight to it, set the brightness to the minimum, that might work
So i did a 11 joule valve swap in my 7.5 american version... now when i shoot i get this gurgling noise... any ideas? I can for the life of me that looks to be assembled incorrectly
I had to resubscribe again? Why does UA-cam keep unsubscribing people?
To, że pistolet robi większy huk to nie znaczy, że mocniej strzela. Czekam z niecierpliwością na test z chronometrem ;-).

...and you wrote it in polish...
Hi I've damaged the screw head on the piston attempting to do the power kit upgrade on the HDR50 11juole version ,could you point me in the right direction on a replacement please.
I have know idea on how to remove the damaged screw.
Nice! Got any mods 4 the hdp50?
It's the same on the inside, so what is in this video is relevant to the HDP50.
Nice video. Just one question. They sell a 7,5 J version of this revolver as well, not only the 11J one. If you remove that part from the 7,5 J version, will you get 20 J? Or it works only for the 11J version?
You need to fit an extra piece if you remove it from the 7.5joule version. It comes in the powerkit50 from homedefence-24.
@@Maddogairguns Ok, do I have to modify (fil or something) that extra piece after I removed that part you are talking about in the video, or it is just to put in that extra piece after removing that part?
If you remove the valve block on the 7.5joule version and don’t fit the extra piece, pretty much all the co2 will go on the first shot. So you need to fit the extra bit, as you are removing the valve block.
Wat do u get wen just remove valve on 11j
For the 7,5J version you need some extra pieces (you mentioned in the video). Does this mean the 11J version already has those pieces in place when you buy it? Or will the 7,5J and 11J version AFTER the mode contain substantially different parts inside?
The 11 joule version already has the piece fitted whereas the 7.5joule version doesn't. Check out this powerkit50, it shows in the kit that there is a disc piece that has to be fitted in the 7.5joule version. en.homedefence-24.com/Collections/hdr-51/Products/powerkit-50-for-hdr50-export-valve-maximum-power-11j-version-20-30j?variant=32195974594678
@@Maddogairguns That's the confusing part. The link you posted shows the mod-kit for the 11J version. It seems the disc piece is part of the mod-kit for the 11J version.
@@carstenschmied8455 Yes the kit might look misleading, the guns are the same. The 7.5joule version has a slightly larger CO2 chamber, so will tend to make more power when modified. But trust me you only need the Valve on the 11joule version, as the disc part is already fitted.
@@Maddogairguns so what you’re saying is if I modify 7.5j instead of 11j. I will get more power as it got bigger CO2 chamber.
Also in the link there’s a firing pin as well, that will fit both 7.5j and 11j right.
Only thing is if I order this kit for my 7.5 I just have to add that disc and remove the same part you removed. Correct..?
@@sidyal1353 yes
Why are thy selling all these extra mods with 1 mm valve if its so easy to put the ditrictor out , this looks peace of cake . So this is all I have to do bro ?
Yes, pull the restrictor (valve block out) and drill the co2 disc to 1.5mm. That's good for a start. Only on the 11joules version though, if you have the 7.5 joule version you will need a co2 restrictor disc to put in.
Is this because it alread requires a fire arm certificate? Anything over 7.5 joules would be illegal in UK
I'm fully aware of that, but here in France, that is not the case.
So how do you mod a 7 Jewel HDR?
Great vid!, is this legal to do in UK?
No! Here in France we can have up to 20joules without license, in the UK your stuck with the 7.5joule version. Although plenty have done the mod in the UK.
How many joules do you get alone without the valve?
I'm too scared to do this. I might mess it up or something. Where can I send my umerax out to get modified
Hi where is the link to purchase the 11 joule version? is there also an extended barrel option and where can that be purchased?

To get around 20J you have to change small valve pin also. Long barrel increase result a little as well 🙂
Long barrel is the a major increase of power
Major is removing valve block, this
give biggest effect, valve pin + barrel is + couple J as well. Of course barrel give also better accuracy, but valve block is most important to increase power because of gas pressure and release.

Hay man. I got one and I just watched your video thinking let me try but mine isn't coming out. I can't see anything restricting it but really it refuses to come out. Can you help?

If you get the 11joule version you can just remove the valve block, and if you adventurous you can shorten the valve pin.
hi where did you get it from i can only get 7 joule version
I don't fancy the police coming to me so will the 7.5 be the same thing ? As a home defence
Yes 7.5joule is the same gun, just less power. You can buy kits for more power but then it would be more than 11joules.
have you done a chrono test? just to see if the change is real or just better sound
I don't have a Chrono at the moment, should be getting one in the next couple of weeks. So I'll test it then and there are some other mods happening soon which I'll test and video will follow.

I bought the power shot 50 kit from defense 24 for my 11 joule to upgrade it. Any help would be appreciated. Rebecca
Your more likely to mess up the heads than strip the threads, use a good fitting screwdriver, with large handle to get a better grip. Other than that, not sure what to suggest.
@@Maddogairguns What screwdriver are you using does it come from a set? I think the heads in my set are too soft, the maker claims they are hardened steel but I don't think they are. I have just ordered a more robust ratchet screwdriver set has a thick handle and short length. A bit like yours in your video. Any way sorry for the waffling, All the best. Rebecca
Nice 30 second video.
Can It be increased with Dieseling?
Will it damage the pistol if I remove the valve block without changing the valve pin?
If you have the 11 joule version, you can just remove the block. If you have the 7.5 joule version, you will need a piece to fit in the co2/handle part, or the co2 will all come out on your first shot.
Enjoyed thanks for sharing I can do that also thanks for the group info my request to join is pending

Macht vielleicht eine 11j Version raus
Hi!
Can you confirm if there is also a way to upgrade the PPQ T4e? Thanks
Sorry I have no experience with the PPQ.
You get a weaker valve spring, look up t4e magazine and fps there's only one video about it I haven't seen any other sources but it tracks with how airguns function do this will allow for more flow of gas which will either bring up power phenomenally or increase waste of gas due to a high amount of dwell. I haven't test this so you'd be the first one to test it
Hey do you put the brass piece back in or leave it out too
The piece with the valve that shows it’s charged??
Yes that has to go back on or the CO2 will just leak out.
