- Today we are working on something new! A good friend of mine needed some help with his Audi Q5, he had a coolant leak he couldn't find and it kept getting worse... In this video I show you how I found the leak, and the entire repair process. Apparently this water pump is VERY common! I hope you all enjoy! :)

That story about getting fired from Firestone….. whoa! Just shows the good person that you are and you did the right thing, Firestone’s loss!
Man that story had me enraged. Totally unfair, but you did the right thing, and thats what counts!
I understand where they were coming from, following the rules.
Good thing is my next job i became an apprentice at Mazda, so it all happens for a reason :)
Dang, that Q5 look of that engine is a jumbled mess design. Makes bmw look well designed. Keep wrenching, we keep watching. Chill episode. Nice job.
It didnt have the best flow, I still prefer my BMWs :)
Great to see you as always Bog! Youre such a real one!!!
YOU are a great person for helping that woman you will be reworded
just tryin to do what I think is right, appreciate it!
You’re a proficient and honest mechanic, Alec. $100/ hr is a bargain.
glad you agree Richie!
What a good pup sage is 🐶 You’re truly an inspiration, we need more people with your view on life. Love how you were able to help her despite all things. Blessings
Shes the best! currently shacked out on her giant bean bag bed. Appreciate the kind words Andy! Just trying to do what I think it right
Love the story about how you helped that lady out, I will always say we need more people like you ! I work for AAA doing roadside assistance and always see people in similar situations and it’s always a good feeling when you get them on the go, sucks Firestone didn’t agree with you doing the right thing but I’m glad your away from them and onto better things 👏
Youre helping people on the daily if youre doing roadside! hats off to you, not the safest working conditions either. Thanks for the awesome comment, luckily it led to more opportunities. cheers!
Nice video man, i really enjoy watching them keep on hustling.
Will do my friend! thanks for the support!!!
You're an honest and good man that loves to serve others, just that got a subscription.
thank you vaughn!
Wow that's horrible that Firestone did not recognize good faith and hospitality the only thing companies care about is money. Love your videos keep up the great videos and humor. Door may close but there are plenty of other doors that can open for good people besafe god bless.
I understand where they were coming from, following corporate rules, but boy did that $300 really help when she wrote me that check. I couldnt believe it!
Thanks for the support Rob!
Jeez such a mess of wire's and hoses... But at the end of it all... Success he's going to be one happy camper
So far so good, he was a happy friend and customer! Great to see you in the comments so much Chris! youre a real one. where you from?!
great content! no ghetto-beats...just a voice narrating the video. glad it's other brand than bmw :) the downside is bmw gives more videos since they give all types of issues 😂 those swaybar bushes must be replaced for sure and lots of other things :D
as for you speech about professional life and decisions, here in Portugal we say "when a door closes, a window opens".
Appreciate that! Its hard to find tasteful music for videos. Was nice to mix up the brands of cars for sure!
I love that saying, id also love to visit Portugal some day!
I like your vids! And your dog is the cutest baby :)
Thank you! 😊
I think it's even more rewarding working on European engines/hard access engines when you've completed the job and learned a whole bunch. I know this video is done but I'm waiting for the next one, please hurry 🔧
I couldnt agree more! Always more to be learned.Just posted an update about the giveaway video, working on a quick coolant leak repair on the E46, then probably hitting the road to deliver the car next week!
@DayOffDIY yep watching and liking and video now. I got an E46 so loving all your BMW content. Cheers
i love working on my bmws
anyone who helps fix an Audi is a true friend!! nice work as always. just don't get sucked into buying one.
your content seems to be getting increasingly fowl these days, but Sage is still the best.
LOLOL it took me a minute but i see what you did there. that was so good, I was thinking... "did i swear in this video? I dont think so... Ive been trying not to swear in my videos..." LOL
Good to see you friend! No new personal cars for me, not until I get this E30 sold lol
@@DayOffDIY lol thanks bud! I hope you're able to sell the E30 soon and as always, looking forward to more quality Sage-infused content :)
I’m a proud Audi owner and it’s great to see you wrenching on one!
so far so good! i enjoyed driving it a lot! it drove great
You sure come across as a very decent lad, I wish you every success with your channel.
I do my best to be myself on camera, its a never ending journey. Appreciate your support Craig!!! means alot
Once you work on a Audi you'll never bitch about working on a BMW again. Just about everything on a Audi is a nightmare to work on. I had to replace a air conditioner compressor on a A8 and you have to take the front end apart to replace the compressor. If you have a timing chain issue, have fun.
hahahah yeah Im excited to get back into another BMW. I might have something lined up. I had an old coworker do the belt on his A4, the dude took the entire front end off and slid it all forward
enjoyed the vid! Nice story sharing about firestone, what is wrong with some people right XD? waiting on the update video about the bmw! cheers
Thanks Ivor! Great to see you! Hope all is well.
I understand where they were coming from, following corporate rules, but also could have been a teachable lesson
Just posted a video update for the giveaway car! Part 2 commences next week! A winner has been selected!
Another great video of helpful tips and troubleshooting.
Appreciate that !! Thanks for the support
Great Video! You are an Awesome Person and have your Heart on the right place.
The World needs that Kind Persons like you are bro ❤💪💪💪
Keep going and you will hopefully get even more back buddy :)
Thank you Serhan! means a lot my friend.
Cant wait to hit the road to deliver this giveaway car!
31:00 Hay there chunky boy!
If you're doing any work on a VAG car a triple square socket set is a must
Also the VW 2.0 is notorious for timing chain stretch lol, stick with 2005-2008 timing belt driven 2.0T if you intend to buy one
I dont think ill be buying an audi anytime soon, but i will be buying some triple square, was going to be BUMMED if i rounded that one out...
ahhh the N20 stretches too and I run far far away.
Nice video Alec, glad you working on VW / Audi, I like your videos. Wishing you success on the channel.
appreciate that! thank you! I enjoyed it
Thanks to you for the good videos. Keep on going.
love these type of videos, great job man.
glad you enjoyed it! somethin new for both of us
I really like this video. the car looks nice to work on.
its easier to do it in an audi then the vw gti, also get some tripple square bits because stripping those will ruin your day. Valve covers use anarobic sealant, the VW stuff costs a kidney, but I would guess the secondary air pump or something before the valve cover.
I bet, GTI doesnt sound like much room. This Q5 was pretty damn roomy! Thanks for that info, itll definitely come in handy if we tackle some more repairs. If he doesnt sell the car were gunna fix the leaks.
Kudos, most see the badge on the grill or the star on the hood and grab up the nearest cross and hold up for defense against different ways of doing things. You got your big boy pants on and tackled it. American and asian cars may be easier to work on, but German cars are far more efficient and fun.
Appreciate that!
I agree about the German cars, they know how to build an amazing automobile.
It was an experience to learn new things and im grateful i took it on! Heres to more challenges in the future!
STACEYS MOM HAS GOT IT GOING ON!! I can confirm Stacey’s mom does indeed have. It going on!
lol i gotta jam to music in my headphones cuz if i play it on speaker they will copyright strike my videos lol
You are the best men
thanks Fabian!
I remember doing a bunch of those back in the day. Great video!
i bet theyre super common, looks like it
great work!
I’m pretty sure Audi is an acronym that stands for 10lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag. I’ve owned a few Audis and worked on several - seriously one of the least favorite brands to work on hex, torx, Allen, and triple squares all mixed in willy-nilly. I think they do a nicer interior over BMW tho, but my experience BMW is just a lot easier to work on and a lot less specialty tools.
Above and beyond again on this project. It’s the little things like that makes a difference and can bring a little joy in someone’s life.
LOL Rob youre a legend. The triple square definitely threw me off, never really see em, i need to invbest in a set ASAP. I agree with the interior, I do prefer it over BMW at the moment...
Appreciate you Rob, youre an awesome friend
Nice!!!! I love your video 🎉
thanks for the support!
You're a good man.....
appreciate you!
Story time was good lol. Also great repair!
glad you appreciated it
Thanks for the fix, bro! Let's really confuse your viewers with some Suzuki Samurai content next 😅
Lol I gotta see this
thanks for the biz D-Hide! Im down with it, lets throw em a curveball
Great video! Can tell you definitely care. This is probably in other videos, but where did you get your lift?
It was given to me for free from Vevor, its for sale on amazon for about $1400 bucks.
Heres the link for the 7k lb model :)

Nice!
good to see you again eager!
Hmmm my water pump just crapped out on my 16 Audi q5. I guess it’s all too common.
Have you had iusses in USA with the G13 Coolant which must be replaced for the VW G12 EVO coolant?
In fact one of the problems was the water pump materials and welding of that part.
BimmerN53
No issues with coolant for me, but ive primarily worked on BMWs, I never really work on Audi, but havent heard anything about it yet
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent video and great job of showing components that need replaced and the problems one would encounter.
Do you have a website or any information on the class action suit on Audi for the water pump / coolant pump design? we have 2016 Q5 w/ a little over 60K mi. that needs the pump replaced. Dealer wants @ $1,600. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
Maybe a boroscope would make that diag easier
for sure! i have one in the box brand new too, shouldve busted it out. it connects to my phone, havent tried it yet
Lift is new??
Yeah i got it when I was working on the E90, vevor sent it to me for free, so ive been trying it out, so far so good, i never touch a floor jack or jack stands anymore
@@DayOffDIYYou're an inspiration. I've already listed my old Ford truck in the hopes of buying an E46. I've never even looked at buying a BMW. Keep up the solid ass work dude.
Did you fix the E30???? I sent you what to do to fix it! Didit work?
I havent fixed it yet, but when i get back from travels I will dive back in, I did see your comment though and youre information was EXTREMELY valuable! Just havent caught up on replying yet but im working my way down the list :) thanks again for all the info!
Great video man, I have heard that Audi's are a bitch to work on as they are so tightly packaged. Seems like the rumours are true 😂
Super interesting to see you working on something different, keep on truckin'!
Ross! Glad you enjoyed the variety! Overall it wasnt too bad, similar complexity to the BMWs i think, but i still prefer the BMWs :)
@@DayOffDIY oh fair, maybe I'm just too used to owning bangers 😂
1️⃣👩🏻🎨👩🏻🍳👋🏻😂😂😂
Brandi got beat this time, very narrow finish LOL
@@DayOffDIY I got more chances, I’m not worried. Yet. 🤣🤷🏻♀️✌🏻
First

LOLOLOL you two are great
is this the same on a gti
