I think this is the best review of the Scrambler that I've seen yet. And there are plenty out there. Triumph have nailed it. Plenty of competition, but maybe there's a growing demand for more classically-designed bikes like this. I would love one. It's exactly what I want, and all I need. Looking forward to their arrival in NZ.
TomBoy Great review! The Triumph 400's are going to sell like hotcakes. They are beautiful to look at, sound nice and will be perfect for newer riders and for those that want something lighter. Thank you Lady! Ride SAFE and BE safe! 👍👍
Thank you for the video! I test rode one last week and also loved it! Normally I do a journey and then come straight home, not so with this little triumph. I parked up at Al Campo (Spain) took some photos for family then got back on it! I was due to take it my back to the dealer, but carried on up the autovia then turned off onto some twisties! This is a hell of a bike! My only concern is the journey from Spain to the UK along the autovia. At speed it's a little vibey for me, but wow! It's an ace! (I am 62)
Great review Tomboy. I saw one at my triumph dealer, looks like a fun little bike, I think the scrambler would look better with spoked wheels and 50/50 tyres. I’d love one but I ride a 900 rally pro which gives me better all round use, especially for longer distance travelling. Thanks for posting.👍
Having fun going fast on a small(er) bike. An adventure bike is one you can pick up several times in one day. Fix most any place and manage small openings and take across water bodies in very small boats.
Great review! Comparison with Tiger is clear but what would be your comment on comparison with Scrambler 900? Is 400x really much more agile and nimble even as 900? Wich would you choose regardless the price? For every day city riding and some weekend trips…as the only bike… Thanks a lot!
Oh I wish someone would answer that question. I already own a svartpilen and looking at upgrading to a scrambler 900, and I wonder if the upgrade is worth the price difference.
Beautiful bike, but it's a Triumph which says it all. Fantastic colour combination on this model and a well presented review, but it was a pity we didn't see more of it performing in city traffic and how it is for filtering. The price is....? Probably it's low to keep it in the same price catagory of the R Endfields. Was really good for me to see my two favorite Moto bloggers in one video. Now I'm looking forward to the Speed 400 review, as one of these two, might be my future 2nd bike.
I rode Speed in London too, so will show some riding in a central London traffic as well as Valencia. I don’t write the price as it’s different in every country and easy to google. In UK IS 5595£

It looks a beauty and has had a lot of positive reviews. A friend of mine, is even thinking of reaching deep and getting one. I really wish success for these light weight Triumphs, rather than the imaginitive but failed attempts that grace the National Motorcycle Museum from the late 70's.
It has a very similar dna. Being manufactured by Bajaj. Bajaj indirectly owns majority stakes in KTM, GasGas and Husqvarna. Imagine an RE with a KTM engine.
In Germany Triumph offers a 4-years-warranty which made my final decision for the 400x - ordered in october last year. Green, both engine bars, tank pad, sump guard, mudguard extension and the windshield. Delivery this month 🤞. Thanks for your review - reassures my "blind" order. A small critics to Triumph: The heated hand grips were definitely promised when I ordered (have a screenshot). Now nothing about them in the accessories. Saw the video of an UK dealer who mounted Oxford Hotgrips Pro. Did you receive any infos about the heated grips in Valencia? I wonder if I should wait for them to come some day or mount Oxford grips, too?
@leafyshempharvest2722 I'm living in the coldest region in Germany - the heated grips make sense. Besides: The mounted accessories are covered by the 4 y. warranty as well. If I purchase them later I just have two years. So if I decide to sell the bike after the first season (maybe the 40 hps won't be enough or whatever) it may be a good argument that there is a complete 3 year warranty left.
@@leafyshempharvest2722 Last year we had snow still in may and enabled heating end of august - the heated grips make sense. Besides all accessories mounted when picking up the bike are covered by the 4-ys-warranty.
When I first hear there will be a 400cc on triumph I actually pissed off bcs I hate brands trying to make profit but making their branding lower. But when I saw it in Eicma Milano and sit on it all my thoughts are changed bcs Triumph made it like all so quality and finishing is perfect ✌🏻
Thank you for the review. I own a Scrambler 400X, and have done my first 1,000 Km on it now. I love it. One thing I noticed though, is that at low speeds - anything below 40 Km/hr - the motorcycle exhibits some jerkiness. It doesn't matter which gear I am on. And this happens on perfectly flat, smooth road surfaces while keeping a steady throttle. It does not go smoothly, but rather continuous back-and-forth jerking, and the slower you go, the more noticeable it is. Is this normal? I am looking for feedback from people who own the bike. Is this a normal single-cylinder behavior, or is there something wrong with my bike? Thank you.
This is obviously going to be a huge success and it puts it in the reach of many not the vast amount of money many bikes are. It will be very interesting if Triumph make a 500 or a 600 single.
Nice bike. hopefully the gloss black will be released , or can you already buy that gloss black one ?. Triumph should also make a 500 or 600cc version to fill that gap between the 400cc and the big 1200cc bike, then they have a triple choice on size. all very nice looking and great to see that they will have lots of accessories for them.
I have a V7 (750) and I am very tempted by this bike. I wish I had something a little more suited for rough roads or gravel roads. How do you think they compare? Nice work, as usual.
You should test ride a scrambler. V7 750 is very ‘manual’ comparing. 400x feels like any other Triumph. If I’d have to choose between two I’d take Scrambler. Like you said for versatility but also it’s a lot more pleasant to ride.
It’s a nice bike but surely it’s beaten out by the Benelli Leonchino 500?! The Benelli is proper full size, a twin engine, and still has those retro looks - it also rides absolutely deliciously!
