Spending nearly $2000 for that edc, only having a couple hundred rounds through it, is crazy. Id just spend $1100 on the pistol with the vortex viper and put $900 on ammo. Don't get me wrong it looks great.
Yeah when I show up to the range with 700plus rounds I can see the look on people's faces. Meanwhile they got "Gucci" guns and can't hit a 4inch grouping at 20 yards with all that bling and I'm over here flinging rounds with my 43x & iron sights 😅 makes me laugh EVERYTIME. None of that stuff matters if you can't shoot🤷
Saving money on a gun to spend on ammo is a red herring. Even if you spend 5000 on a gun, the cost of ammo will far outstrip the cost of the gun over time.
I use the Apex Disassembly Fixture for FN 509/FNS-C. It makes the job of removing that pin 100% easier. The purchase was justified considering I owned several FN 509s and changing out the Triggers and installing MCARBO trigger spring kits.

I carry This as my edc appendix carry. I love the gun, you got to clean it alot though if you are going to carry it. I'm a bigger guy and I sweat alot my thread protector starts to rust.
I rock the midsize with the holosun 507K. Nice and compact IMO. Apex makes a awesome plate for the holosun K foot print. Check out holosun new EPS carry light. I think you will like the smaller around conceal carry. Turtle power man!
Nice review my guy! We’re almost twinning for real 😂. You know, it’s so frustrating that we love FN and they don’t love us back. It’s pretty much impossible to get parts from their website. They literally do not have a shopping section for parts. MGW has been a life savior for me, but as you mentioned, some of the parts we need are often out of stock. Not their fault, it’s FN’s. I just found out about the Endurance Striker yesterday after posting my video, again, no official information on it available on the FN website. It’s MGW that is once again doing their job for them. It’s frustrating. Right now I’m looking for a 4” non-threaded barrel, and they’re nowhere to be found. How is that even possible? I want to keep my FN running for a long time but if parts are this difficult to get, I might have to jump ship at some point. Sorry for the rant but to see you share those sentiments as well made me realize that it’s not just a “me” problem. They really couldn’t drop in the new striker in while they had your gun?! Cmon! Anyway, love your take on this firearm. Got a new sub!

Our guns are almost identical. I got my PMM stuff in FDE. Kept my trigger and after about 1500 rounds it was not gritty anymore. I use a blackhawk holster for my gunbelt cause im to skinny to EDC without printing.

Package came with (5) 22 round mags, (1) 35 round mag for $549, with tax and shipping $612, FFL pickup total $642. I like the style, accuracy, reliability, and handling of this pistol so much. I went ahead and purchase the 10mm version for $629.

Was the trigger replacement straight forward or did you have to change things around? I’m on the fence of replacing mine or picking up the cc edge instead.
It was straight forward other than the locking block pin is difficult to get out and put back in. The pin removal on the 509 is always right to left and for reassembly it’s left to right. The only other thing I’d say to watch out for is when pulling out the curved trigger assembly, make sure you have a positive grip on the fire control assembly so that it doesn’t come apart when you’re pulling it out to get enough clearance to pull the curved trigger assembly off to swap with the flat face trigger assembly. Right now the CC EDGE is about $1,400. My 509 Tactical when I bought it was nearly $1,000. My trigger assembly swap cost a total of about $40(the flat face trigger assembly shipped). However I want to get a 509 Tactical Midsize or even the CC Edge whenever the price for them comes down.
Man that is a perfect looking 509 exactly how I want mine build how much did u spend for the bild and gun included planing on getting one in 3 months just bought a AR so I have ro save for this 509.
The gun itself was $962.00 when I bought it, the optic was around $380, the compensator and mag well combo was $230 before taxes, the weapon’s light was $260 before taxes, the flat faced trigger assembly was $40, the newer style striker was $50….., altogether this setup cost approximately $2,000.
I had already looked at a full size light such as the Streamlight TLR-H1. If I had used that light it would have constantly jabbed me in my leg while appendix carrying; especially while sitting. The current setup I have now doesn’t jab me in my leg BUT on the magazine carrier side, it does sometimes jab me in the leg because of the wider molding.
I used the plate that came with the gun. If you bought your gun brand new from the store, the mounting plates for various different optics comes included with the gun UNLESS you bought yours with the Vortex Venom optic already installed(those don’t come with the mounting plates package).
It’s definitely a flat shooter and the way it’s designed, it can’t really come loose. I did have a break in period with 124gr +p but after that it shoots everything now.
I don’t remember. The mounting plates all come with the gun when you purchase it unless you got the 509 with the Vortex Venom optic already mounted. Unfortunately I lost the bag that the plates came in somewhere inside my house but I can’t find it anywhere.
I field strip it just the same as I would without the compensator minus taking the barrel off. I just cant the barrel at an angle when I run a bore brush and cleaning patch through it. Fully taking the compensator off for every cleaning isn’t practical.

Yeah they are expensive BUT you get all the ‘extras’(suppressor height night sights, threaded barrel, extended magazine release, optic mounting plates, and 2-4 extended magazines) in one package. I own several Glocks and by the time I’ve added the extras, it’s more expensive than my FN509 Tactical.

Use 9mm 124 grain +P NATO rounds. That should fix your problem until the gun is broken in then you should be able to shoot any other rounds.

Do you think FDE conceals better than the standard black coloration? I'm looking into getting an FN 509C Tactical and I'm stuck on deciding the color.
