I just picked this up last weekend. I have the 509 Compact (not MRD). I’ve been looking at it for months. Finally dropped the money because it was actually on sale. The M17 and M18… and the 19x are also really awesome. I now have all 4 of these guns. It’s an excited time for guns. 👍🏻

I bought one this weekend, for around 1000 with the viper red dot scope. I haven't taken it out yet but damn it operates smooth, especially the slide lock. I'm looking fwd to taking it out. Mine came with two 17s and one 24 which I read some do. Don't know whats up with that, I don't like the look of the 24 anyway

Just got the compact tactical model and while doing drills for mag changes, I hate the ambi mag release. I need more practice but the right side (I’m a RH shooter), but the release sticks out too far

No, the thread protector will just loosen up after every 10 rounds or so.

@Kyle, I didn’t browse for too long, because I’ve always wanted a holster from T1C (Tier One Concealed). After a quick google search, I see that AlienGear, FNH, SafariLand, OdinHolsters, and a few more are out there. For 120$ I really dig the one I’ve got. It comes with a mag holder too and can be detached from the paracord holding the gun and mag holsters together. Check out the Axis Slim from T1C! Or just follow a company you like and shoot em a message on Instagram asking which holsters they recommend for a FN 509c Tac 😁

Expected more right out of the box 509 tactical; “Thread Pitch was out of spec”, according to FN. How do I know this? Well I spent over 900 for it and tried to put on a 1/2x28 Silencer; and it was a huge no-go. So had to spend money on a box and more of my time that I freely give to others to send it back to FN (THE ENTIRE PISTOL, instead of just the barrel). I expected more from a pistol costing over 900. Went with the FN because my Glock slides were not consistently cycling and returning to battery with a silencer. Will have to get it to the range,…but very disappointed with Quality Control for this price

The FN grip texture is very effective, sometimes a bit to effective. I did handgun class and put 750 rounds through it in 2 days. My hand was very torn up by the time the class was over. I'm surprised I was not bleeding. I ordered some rubber talon grip tape as soon as I got home. Other thing is the striker. I had seen people saying the factory striker is not good enough and will break, so I ordered a heavy duty striker before I went to the class. I brought it with me but did not install it. Sure enough the factory striker broke halfway through the second day. I would say I had put about 300 rounds through it before I went to the class and probably about 500 or so during the class before it shit the bed. After replacing it I have had no other issues.

Cool video. What’s your pick on what brand trigger that your going to get? I just got this, but that trigger blows in my opinion. I know it’s a striker, but still... damn I just can’t get over how much I dislike that trigger. But rest of pistol is A Ok
I have put about 500 rnds through mine. Didn't know about the striker issue when I bought it. Proactively replaced the striker and trigger with Apex last week. Happened to be in Phoenix, so called them and got an apmt to do it. Unless you are a gunsmith, don't replace the trigger yourself. Front pin is difficult, and people have broken the lower trying to get it out. Trigger pull is smother, but I haven't put rounds through it yet. Hopefully this weekend. Trigger pull is lighter, and smother, dry fire, which is not recommended for strikers.

Great gun the only thing about this gun is the trigger is horrible and the firing ping it broke twice on me I think they could do a better job on that trigger and a better firing pin and for me it’s a deal breaker maybe latter in the future wend they come with a new generation of them may buy one but for now I will pass but that’s my personal intake on it 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I think it’s worth 900.00 . The one I just purchased came with a red dot already installed and a rebate for 2 extra free 24 round magazines. Great pistol.👍

Its a good gun needs the apecs trigger and a red dot. I also went with a war compensator.
I don't need to trigger upgrade. I'm shooting tight groups right through the middle with the stock trigger. unnecessary upgrade for this gun if you know how to shoot.

New York Yea at gun show and them ain't just everyday deals. No one ever said it ain't possible to find anything cheaper. Might have to wait for the better deal or hunt for them but we all know they come around. But as far as store pricing and the actual manufacturers price these are solid deals. Not to mention it ain't been no gun shows and ppl raising prices due to this Rona shit. Everything is probably cheaper on a normal day and or at a gun show or pawn shop.

I like the gun but the trigger is kinda sucky. However replacing the trigger can damage the gun if you're not careful so I probably won't replace it because I'm not that good at that kind of stuff.

It’s more expensive because it comes with more options stock from the factory. Add up what a stock Glock would cost to do all this.
I got the 509c tactical. I wish I got the 509 tactical because I have pretty big hands, but at the end of the day it was my first gun and I wanted it to be concealable. I doubt an extra inch would change anything though.
I found this online for $650 + the FN rebate gives you a free Streamlight tlr-7 weapon light. It ends up being about $700 with shipping and transfer fee. I guess for that price its definitely worth it.
By the way nice fish tank. I have a 25g Lagoon tank.

$900 is not bad for the package, buy a glock 17 for $600 then pay $280 for front serrations and an optic cut out, $240 for supressor barrel, $120 for trijicon supressor sights and then do the math.
I just considered buying this gun today but the trigger is so disappointing for a $1000 handgun I passed on it.. dealer says the trigger needs break in period.. bull crap .. I also don’t shoot suppressed so the sights are way to high above bore for my personal preference .. was really disappointed after watching so many videos hyping this gun up.. I’ll stay with my p320

I love everything about my 509 T. except for the trigger. Hands down the worst trigger on any mass produced hand gun except the Bersa. There is absolutely no excuse for the trigger considering the gun's MSRP is over $1,000. And if you shop at Cabela's you will pay full price. The trigger is the reason it didn't go very far in the military trials. And unfortunately there is nothing you can do to fix it. There are a lot of videos about polishing this and that, and it's all bullshit. None of them make a difference in the trigger. There are aftermarket triggers that you can install that are supposed to be a lot better, and I've heard FN addressed the trigger issue in their newly released models, but that's long after I purchased mine. When you're use to 1911 triggers that have no take up, and break like glass at 2 1/2 to 3 lbs and adjustable trigger stop, the trigger on mine feel like something out of the Flinstones. And what the hell is the deal with them charging $60 for their high capacity magazines, and why don't they offer the sleeve for the high capacity magazine in FDE?

Big Gucci I wouldn’t say anything in particular. Maybe consider a speed loader from your local shop? Always a nice investment. Also could be a tight spring. I actually had to pull one apart and clean it.

Get yourself a speed loader, it will be the best thing you ever bought. Make sure it is a good one though i believe the brand i have is a Lapula or something like that. Loads all of my magazines of different calibers with ease.
