well, i only have to say that coconut oil doesn’t do much for hair in general, the hair doesn’t “absorb” it, if you will, it just stays on top. Oils like morocco and argan however really work.

Do you use a lot of hair products with silicone in them? I've noticed that most of these repairing products have a lot of silicone in them to make the damaged hair look more smooth. Seems to work well to conceal the damage but it doesn't really make the hair any healthier.
If your hair is damaged because of bleach, you can't fix it at all. It's a chemical damage, you can just try to make it stronger (so it doesn't fall off after some time) and look better, so silicones are not bad at all, in this sense. Basically, you need to keep moisturizing your hair with 2-3 products (masks, conditioners and oils), or it will get worse after awhile.
yeah, it pretty much just masks the hair. but it can be useful to mask the damage until it grows long enough for you to cut the damage off. some types of hair doesn't really react well to silicone though, and while all the things she uses work for her, they might not work for people with different texture, porosity, etc.
I agree that if your hair is damaged, it's not going to get less damaged, but masking damage and making hair look shinier is not the only function that silicones have. They provide slip (which allows a brush to pass more easily through the hair) and they prevent tangling and breakage, protect hair from heat and other damage, and make hair look shinier and smoother, yes. But they also act as an emulsifier; keeping ingredients better mixed and allowing a product to coat the hair more easily, and their primary function in hair products is that of a sealant. They are often used in products like this because they create a moisture barrier which seals moisture into the hair strand (and also prevent too much moisture from getting into the hair strands from the outside air)and protect hair from getting dried out or damaged. They work particularly well with humectants (which will probably also be in all of these things in high concentrations) because the humectants bring moisture into the hair strands and silicones seal that moisture in and prevent the humectants from bringing too much moisture into the hair when the air is humid (which causes frizz, but can also cause severe damage to the cuticle of the hair) and/or taking too much out of the hair when the air is dry. So silicones may not repair damaged hair (since nothing can, especially once you get to this point), but they can help to keep it as healthy as possible when used correctly.
I did damage my hare severly in the beginning of 2017. I hated it. With a lot of treatment it was possible that it still felt ok and looked ok. But just washing it with shapoo and doing nothing else to it was totally impossible. I let the hair grow out and step by step cut of all the really dead ends. I still bleached the roots to color them, but I really prioritize the integrity of my hair. Now I only bleach the roots once a year with 20 vol. I don't use any bleach to take out the color of my hair, I am just patient and regulary walk around with a disgusting color, until it faded enough to put some new color in. But it's worth it. I can actually wash my hair with shampoo and it still looks ok after that. But normally I do use conditioner and hairoil to protect it. Because bleached hair is just much more sensitive. My hair has grown back a lot and reaches the middle of my back and I still want to have it longer. But it needs patience.
I dyed my hair orange/red a few weeks ago and it's started to fade so it was time to refresh it, and after seeing you mix dye with your coco and eve deep conditioner in a different video, I decided to try out that same sort of method with my favourite deep conditioning mask and a bit of the dye mixed together. I'd just washed it out and seen the awesome results when I came and watched this video and saw you do a similar thing! 😂 I think that's how I'm going to refresh my colour from now on. so easy and so good for my hair!
You can’t heal it. Damaged hair is always damaged. You can take care of it or make it look better but you can never revive your hair until it grows out and you cut them off.
Hi Stella! Have you tried leaving Olaplex no 3 and Olaplex bond smoother for a day? That’s what has been doing miracles to my hair lately! My stylist did this for me after bleaching and I continued doing it at home. Within the first week my hair has improved a lot!! Girl do this intensive treatment every three days a week and then tell me how it works for you! In between the 3 days I only leave in bond smoother and it’s been pretty amazing! Try it 😉
How I handle my hair be like: *I don't use a hair dryer (or towel dry like there's no tomorrow) since I let my hair air dry everyday. *I also do not cover my hair with a towel and put it on top since the hair is vulnerable when wet. I just gently squeeze it with a towel and leave it alone. *I rarely use a hair curler or hair iron since it can make the hair be prone to damage. I only use those in special occasions. :') *I rarely bleach my hair since I usually use the same hair color (currently using a permanent hair dye with the shade of burgundy, though I'll switch to Arctic Fox), but when I do use bleach, I make sure to give at least a 3- month window in applying dyes so my hair won't be too brittle and dry. *I prefer to use creamy conditioners that's infused with hair serums, and hair treatments for damaged hair. *I don't really have a 7-8 step hair care routine since (I'm broke lol) I don't really style it too much, so using creamy conditioners and hair treatments can fix it within minutes. *If I do want to make fun of my hair, it's either I cut it by myself or dye it :')
Everything wrong with the video: - Uses regular towel instead of microfiber towel - Starts brushing on the roots instead of the ends - Uses color shampoo and rubs it instead of gently masage it - Uses a mask with colour on it, then adds more colour - Do we have to talk about how silicones are basically hair makeup? Those products can moist, but the result you see is not how hair actually is - Let's not use heat from a hairdryer that can be set on cool, but let's straighten it with heat!!! :D I think her hair actually got damaged because of this "treatment" xd
True- but she's also quite young & learning & probably getting sponsorship from so many companies ( hah). She's in the entertainment biz ( and successful)!!
I do hair treatments all the time. And i swear by olaplex 3 I leave it in for minimum an hour with a plastic bag over my head so it doesn’t dry out. Then I have their bonding oil and number 6 I also have their shampoo and conditioner which I use when I touch up my roots. Olaplex is amazing!!
"Don't blowdry your hair" 2 minutes later "I'm going to straighten my hair" Sorry girl, but you're far more damaging your hair with heat styling than you do when you dry your hair with cold hair (like most curlies does actually). All these products you've put in your hair are just silicones, they just make your hair look better, they dont treat them. And if you would hydrate and nourish your hair after that, you can't because all the silicones prevent the moisture to treat your hair.
Yeah absolute right. U should get yourself a good deep cobditioner without any silicones. And than do a deep conditioning every week until your hair gets better. And dont blow dry (with heat) or heatstyle your hair at all if u dont need to at this day. That is the best u can do for your hair.
Well to be fair, she did use a heat protectant spray, which most people don’t even do. So that did prevent some heat damage. I don’t know about the treatments and masks being silicone but if her hair feels softer then it must do something
Glad someone said all of this. Hair is dead already. Can’t bring it back to life in any kind of way. Can only make it look better and feel better but realistically speaking, it’s dead the second it emerged from the follicle. This is for those that did not know this.
Also once u bleach ur hair its damaged for sure but that's why I like dyes with conditioner bases in them because you gotta keep putting moisture on it or it'll definitely go dry a brittle. And you can do that with oils and hair masks and stuff too. So yes basically you're correct. If you just leave the bleached hair or "developed" hair alone, it will just get worse. And after its gotten over that "trauma" you've done to it, it'll go back to somewhat normal. And that's also why moisturizing it especially with dye which you do, helps.
i just came from the hairdresses with a pixie cut,i bleached my hair all the time.. i ve got hair masks oils, heat protectants. The only thing that will help a really damaged hair is a cut. You can do it bit by bit,not all at once. Grow it out
Healthy hair has a smooth cuticle, which makes it shiny. Damage occurs from the cuticle being roughed up and no longer being smooth from it expanding from lightening it, coloring it, and heat styling, which then loses its shine, and becomes weak and dry and splits from it wearing away. The only thing you can do is ironically use heat to smooth the cuticle, or color it darker, which deposits color into the shaft, making it temporarily smoother by filing in the damage, and using products that temporarily have the same effect. Trimming hair regularly until it all grows out again is all you can do. On average, hair grows 1/2 inch a month or 6 inches a year, so trimming the ends every few months 1/4” you’ll see length and have healthy hair.
For the once who don't know why: Shampoo removes natural oils (or some stuff you'd put on your hair that could cause build up, like coconut oil) from your scalp. Your roots has more oil since it's closer to your scalp, so it's best to remove those oils by shampoo (the frequency of use depends on how oily your hair gets). Your ends actually need those oils since it doesn't get much of it. When shampooing the scalp, the shampoo can get to the ends when while washing it away but water. This makes sure your ends doesn't get stripped too much of the natural oils.
okay we all know that but she clearly said she needs to get rid of the green-ish colour from her ends, she cant do that if she doesnt shampoo the ends.
Hey! I love your videos and you look amazing in every color!😍 I'd love to know what shampoo and conditioner you use. I haven't colored my hair ever...and I'm planning to... Just Afraid of damaging it forever. Any suggestions anyone? How to maintain the shine & stuff?
I have extremely course frizzy hair that always looks damaged but it’s not. Thank god for the brand Living Proof . I swear by their products ! Especially their shampoo & conditioner . GAME CHANGER!! A little expensive but worth every single penny.
I do 320-340 degrees for my damaged hair!! (The top part gets the higher heat) And for my regular it was 360.. our hair looks similar, watch out and don’t fry your hair more with heat!- idk how much heat protectant actually does and if I got enough on so I keep the heat as low as possible to be safe
I have extremely dry bleached hair and i just end up using curl formers to curl it and I wear my curls the whole week before washing it again. It's a nice way to have styled hair without the need to use heat on it
A small tip from India, use curry leaves paste on ur hair , it has a lot of sulphur which is the main component of karotien so it will make it repair faster and make ur hair silky.
this is a moisture coating which Im sure helps with reducing breakage but if your hair is at this point there’s absolutely no recovering it, just masking it and trying to make it temporarily less dry.... constantly 😨
shampooing / washing your hair daily can damage it, and towel drying can damage it as well. Using hot/warm water for everything will open the cuticle of your hair. In order to get the cuticle of the hair to close you need cool/cold water. Also when brushing brush out the tip of the hair and work you way to your roots, it minimizes damage to the hair, but you still need to brush the roots to help spread your hairs natural oil.
Maybe you can try the co wash method. My hair looked the same as yours. Shampoo strips the hair. I only use shampoo when my hair gets itchy. For the rest i always use masks to wash my hair the last 2 years and my hair looks totaly diffrent now. I even saw a diffrent after 6 months.
For me the only option was to gradually cut the hair, use sulfate free shampoo, and natural hair dye ^^ nourishing hair mask with 0 chemical or silicones... that means no fun color but gorgeous silky and shiny hair. And a healthy scalp!
You look beautiful as always Stella. I wanted to ask a question about hair mask. Could you apply it before washing your hair and leave it longer then shampoo it?? I read about Garnier mask that says you can also apply it on dry hair , leave it over night and then wash it. Does it work better on dry hair??🤔🤔
To be honest, I don't think anything you did helped. Using the blue shampoo for the colour undid your first step. You didn't choose a good shampoo. You didn't wash your scalp either and really you shouldn't use shampoo on your ends much at all and certainly not rub them the way you did. Also you need a good conditioner, I don't think you used one at all which is a huge mistake. And then you should use a hair mask, preferably one without silicone, and put a lot more on than you did. And also one without colour in it, because colour, even in small doses, damages your hair. Then you can add in the leave in products. And then you heat styled it?????? WHY??? You might as well have used a hair dryer because you used heat on it anyway, in fact a hair dryer on cool/cold air would have been faaaaar far better than heat styling it. In fact, you could have braided it or put pin curls in it overnight to style it effortlessly without any heat at all. Tried and tested. What you did, didn't help. I would have thought a hairdresser would know better...

I need help on my hair, I have alot of hair, like alot and it is oily, I do wash it alot and I never brush my hair since I'm afraid if something bad would happen, please comment on any advice. (I brush my hair, but not when it's wet).
A lot of these comments are so rude... Saying things like why do you trash your hair and saying she is doing everything wrong. She is not telling you how you should do things, she is simply saying what she does. Personally when I'm feeling down a change of hair colour can be a big pick me up and help with confidence or just new perspective. So perhaps she is not feeling well and this is her therapy, do not shit on people's self love.
I love your videos and Malta been so many times. But the violet shampoo thing is wrong! It’s the sulphate used not the pigment that damages and some also add ammonia or peroxide to them. There are ones that contain no ammonia or sulphate if you google.
I love the color on the upper side.I'd love to go for something similar. is there anything you can recommend, so it won't be too damaged. Thanks for answering
"Ironically looks the same", I laughed. I'm used to damage my hair, I find it easy to recover when you do a smothed treatment with keratin, something without formol. And after that I'm good to damage again, you just have to use a really nice product, if it's cheap you can maybe lose hair bleaching. I'm very picky with that. Until now, I have hair 😂😂😂 I'm anxious to try that green of yours. It was beautiful.
Some of y’all did read the title right? *trying* to heal. Repair, and make healthier. Yes she could just cut it off. But she did what works for her hair. Pretty sure she’s also a licensed professional. So she may indeed know a bit of what she’s doing. I mean, just like naturally curly hair. Most curly girls do serious deep conditioning and moisture treatments before something like straightening. So i don’t think there is anything wrong with what she did. She did an intense moisture treatment, to make it feel better. And then styled it. Like most people do.
with a fine 3b 3c curly hair the best thing i've ever done after curling/flatironing it every day is to leave it alone, i bought the good bobby pins and just braided it until the ends totally recovered, it took 2 years and i still dye it at least once a month but the curls are there and they are happy. but it took me until i've left university to stop heatstyling the crap out of it. also, 390 is still too high for flat iron, 360 should be good enough. and yes, i am a hairdresser.
you can leave the olaplex overnight and wash it when you wake up. reviving your hair takes time try real treatment masks that doesn't contains silicones and give it a time while stop killing the hair with heat.
omg i just bleached my hair TWICE using a 40 developer (yes i lowkey regret it cuz my hair is fried), and i need some products or diy shit to make it healthy again... can u make a trying diy hair treatment for damage hair?
If you air dry your hair, try making it dry a bit faster. You shouldn't leave your hair wet for so long cuz it can cause hygral fatigue, which is caused when your hair shaft swells up (or expands), it can also cause bacteria buildup (I think). You could try moving around your hair slightly (but don't touch it, just sway your hair a bit), or try going to a windy (but not too windy) place to dry faster. Ps I really love your channel, I've been watchinv your since last year (way earlier for your ig though). I really hope you'd see this so you could take more good care for your hair. ❤️
You can try hair protecting styles, the curly girl method (even though its for everyone). Remove products with sulfate, parabens and/or fragrance from your hair routine. Deep condition every now and then. And whatever works for you, you keep doing.
you can make your hair look healthy, but broken is broken. if you want to have healthy hair, you have to cut it off and let it grow again. and instead of expensive silicone-based products I recommend hair masks made from organic oils. it helped me: -argan and coconut oil -coconut oil, one egg yolk, honey -castor oil -olive oil
great video! have you ever tried to rap your hair to straighten it? I use to do that when my hair was really bad! Wait can you tell us where you get your earrings?
your hair (and you!) is always so so gorgeous!
ps! Olaplex made my hair almost addicted to it? if that makes sense? it just never sat the same without it :(

It can prevent too much damage from combing and brushing (and heat styling a little little bit). But otherwise I agree you can't repair the hair.
yeah, it pretty much just masks the hair. but it can be useful to mask the damage until it grows long enough for you to cut the damage off. some types of hair doesn't really react well to silicone though, and while all the things she uses work for her, they might not work for people with different texture, porosity, etc.
Well you can't make the hair healthier if the hair is dead so using silicones to make it look better makes sense. Her hair needs to be cut anyways
Literally, I recomend you to consider to try de curly girl method. Just as an experiment of treating your hair different for a while.
*OMGG* *THE SONG YOU WERE SINGING AT **5:37** I DID AT MY SCHOOLS SUMMER CONCERT WHEN I WAS YOUNGER* wow the memories 😢😢
I have no intention of dying my hair yet I watch every single one of your videos 😂💕
You can’t heal it. Damaged hair is always damaged. You can take care of it or make it look better but you can never revive your hair until it grows out and you cut them off.
That’s what she was getting at
But what's the point of "fixing" your hair if you're gonna fry it with a flat iron?
Didn’t she put a heat protection
@@kai-ug4os Heat protectant can only do so much.
Nina Savic man idk I don’t use it😭
Try it 😉
I like how she’s trying to fix her hair but then uses heat on it
how she can be this beauty???? she so beautiful 🥺💓🦋🦋🦋🦋!
How I handle my hair be like:
*I don't use a hair dryer (or towel dry like there's no tomorrow) since I let my hair air dry everyday.
*I also do not cover my hair with a towel and put it on top since the hair is vulnerable when wet. I just gently squeeze it with a towel and leave it alone.
*I rarely use a hair curler or hair iron since it can make the hair be prone to damage. I only use those in special occasions. :')
*I rarely bleach my hair since I usually use the same hair color (currently using a permanent hair dye with the shade of burgundy, though I'll switch to Arctic Fox), but when I do use bleach, I make sure to give at least a 3- month window in applying dyes so my hair won't be too brittle and dry.

I love each transformation that you do on your hair
My favorite ever is when you turned your hair emerald green
Everything wrong with the video:
- Uses regular towel instead of microfiber towel
- Starts brushing on the roots instead of the ends
- Uses color shampoo and rubs it instead of gently masage it
- Uses a mask with colour on it, then adds more colour
- Do we have to talk about how silicones are basically hair makeup?
Those products can moist, but the result you see is not how hair actually is
- Let's not use heat from a hairdryer that can be set on cool, but let's straighten it with heat!!! :D
I think her hair actually got damaged because of this "treatment" xd
Her passing over 2-3 times to straighten it also made it worse. She could’ve gone over it with higher heat one time and done far less damage.
Everything wrong with this comment:
1. You’re acting like a smart ass
2. You’re acting like a smart ass
3. You’re acting like a smart ass

True- but she's also quite young & learning & probably getting sponsorship from so many companies ( hah). She's in the entertainment biz
( and successful)!!
My hair health completely changed when I switched to microfiber a year ago, I can't ever go back to regular towels! 😅
Helpful comment 🥰❤️
"Don't blowdry your hair"
2 minutes later
"I'm going to straighten my hair"
Sorry girl, but you're far more damaging your hair with heat styling than you do when you dry your hair with cold hair (like most curlies does actually). All these products you've put in your hair are just silicones, they just make your hair look better, they dont treat them. And if you would hydrate and nourish your hair after that, you can't because all the silicones prevent the moisture to treat your hair.
Too many products....uhhhhg- then the heat negates any repair processes. Olaplex 3 is enuf & 1 leave in. 😳😳😳
Yeah absolute right. U should get yourself a good deep cobditioner without any silicones. And than do a deep conditioning every week until your hair gets better. And dont blow dry (with heat) or heatstyle your hair at all if u dont need to at this day.
That is the best u can do for your hair.
Yeah but realistically you’re not going to walk around with frizzy hair. She just avoid blow drying because she was going to straighten.
Grow it out
Thank you for Sharing the shrine drops!!! I just bought them in pink and purple to dye my hair a soft rosy colour! I am so excited!!!!
You should just shampoo your scalp btw, not the ends. Though you're hair is short(or mid length), you could still just shampoo your scalp.
For the once who don't know why:
Shampoo removes natural oils (or some stuff you'd put on your hair that could cause build up, like coconut oil) from your scalp.

It’s finally nice to see someone who colors their hair just as much as I do! 😆
Your vids are what keeps me going during quarantine 💖
Coconut oil works the best for dry hair and damaged hair❤️
Brad Mondo always says you can't revive burnt/ruined hair because it's not a living thing. You can make ti look less dead but it won't get "fixed"
all pros know that, hes seen her videos, same with skin
I have extremely dry bleached hair and i just end up using curl formers to curl it and I wear my curls the whole week before washing it again. It's a nice way to have styled hair without the need to use heat on it
Question: can I bleach my hair and still grow it out ? Always wandered this my hair is bleached and it’s growing so I guess I’m good ? ✨😊
I absolutely love hearing you speak
My hairdresser said: your hair is basically dead, you cant revive it, you can only make it looks better
Thats exactly why she chose to use heat and silicon, shes aware
Been loving your vids. Have you tried different dyes that just add color and don't lighten it or have high amounts of ammonia?
A small tip from India, use curry leaves paste on ur hair , it has a lot of sulphur which is the main component of karotien so it will make it repair faster and make ur hair silky.
I swear by the Joico Reconstructor. It's a protein mask that saved my virgin black hair after I bleached it 🙊
this is a moisture coating which Im sure helps with reducing breakage but if your hair is at this point there’s absolutely no recovering it, just masking it and trying to make it temporarily less dry.... constantly 😨
I would only use olaplex number 1 and 2, in my opinion these are the only ones which really work.
So jealous of how thick your hair is!
Use Aphogee two step protein treatment and thanks me later babe 💜
Btw you look absolutely stunning 💜
hey, what type of haircut do have? Its actually beautiful
Your hair color is so unique and so gorgeous, like a foil painting.
shampooing / washing your hair daily can damage it, and towel drying can damage it as well.
Do you ever use kerastase products for your hair?
@Dien M thank you🤗🤗🤗
You are pretty but prettier without makeup ... who else agree?!
Your hair nice too 😛
No bleach/color, no heat or reduce a lot, wash twice a week, satin pillowcase, good leave in spray and good haircare products.
At 10:53, if you had told me you just stepped out of the 80's, I would've believed you. It's a good look

Ur hair look amazing but I think you should avoid straightener, 💖💖

didnt pay attention tio anything, SHE IS SO PRETTY LIKE OMG HOW CAN U BE SO PRETTY
Stella you look like Sophia Bush in this vid idk if it's the light makeup or your hair color but your gestures remind me of her. Beautiful
I love Malta, when i have money i want to go back there ,such a beautiful country❤
I really like this color combination 😍🥰
Dang, for a person eho dyes hair every month, u have thick hair tho
Have you ever considered to use henna??? I think it would look great and it will also help your health 😊
Subbed cuz of the TALENT the BEAUTY and THW CUTE PERSONALITY OMG +ur accent 🥺💀
Is it better to expose your hair to a light amount of heat for a longer amount of time or more intense heat for a shorter amount of time?
You leave in the olaplex until it dries and don't rinse it out? If so, I've been using olaplex wrong!
This length of hair is perfect I can’t wait for your current hair to grow to this length please don’t cut it again 😍☺️
with a fine 3b 3c curly hair the best thing i've ever done after curling/flatironing it every day is to leave it alone, i bought the good bobby pins and just braided it until the ends totally recovered, it took 2 years and i still dye it at least once a month but the curls are there and they are happy. but it took me until i've left university to stop heatstyling the crap out of it. also, 390 is still too high for flat iron, 360 should be good enough. and yes, i am a hairdresser.
I do mine on 350
You are amazing! I love you! 💜
what lipstick did you use at the end please?:) thanks!
My hair dries really quick when i let it air dry (40 mins to an hour) is that bad?
The redken extreme line brought back my hair from the dead. Usually alternate between it and the kerastase resistance line
I tried that. It actually made my hair worse. Especially the anti snap leave in treatment.
@@karenjones8649 same! I thought I was crazy
@@sarasparkles6322 I thought the same lol no one ever discusses it though.
you can leave the olaplex overnight and wash it when you wake up.
reviving your hair takes time try real treatment masks that doesn't contains silicones and give it a time while stop killing the hair with heat.
Blue hair is one of my favorite color in you 😉🤗
omg i just bleached my hair TWICE using a 40 developer (yes i lowkey regret it cuz my hair is fried), and i need some products or diy shit to make it healthy again... can u make a trying diy hair treatment for damage hair?
"good dye young" shampoo and conditioner is apparently pretty good
Soo i have a question. Is her natural hair colour red or.....?? Plz note i m not hating on her i absolutrely adore her
If you air dry your hair, try making it dry a bit faster.
This hair looks amazing
you can make your hair look healthy, but broken is broken. if you want to have healthy hair, you have to cut it off and let it grow again.
and instead of expensive silicone-based products I recommend hair masks made from organic oils. it helped me:
-argan and coconut oil
-coconut oil, one egg yolk, honey
-castor oil
-olive oil
