I live in Italy, and watch your videos as soon as they come out. I grew up in Merthyr Tydifl for four years, and your South Wales accent really has a reassuring soothing effect on me. Before I moved out here most of my sea fishing was done around Barmouth and Anglesey. I miss Wales something terrible at times, and you give me some kind of avenue back to it. Also, as a man who blanked so many times in the worst of weather, I can recognise that spirit of "who cares, I had a nice day anyway". The sea and the sky and the wind fill your being, and that's no way a blank...that's a full house. Thanks for your down-to-earth videos, they are very special.
Thank you Colin, I enjoyed reading your comment and I'm pleased to hear that you enjoy the videos. I was in Merthyr Tydfil last week, I popped up to see the new Trago Mills. I live in Pontypool, not too far away. Ah yes, I can appreciate why you miss Wales at times, some lovely areas in fairness and the coastline is quite special. I like your saying about the sky, sea and wind...I might have to steal that one off you, apt words indeed! Hopefully more videos to come soon with a bit of luck, work and weather permitting! Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍
As a 70 year old cyclist I'm loving the videos . In my younger days it was all about speed and distance on the bike and I struggled in my head as I got older with not being able to keep up or catch riders then 17 years ago we brought our caravan down to Dolgellau and discovered the Mawddach Trail what a gem it's change my outlook on cycling at the end of the day it's just riding a bike , and I do a bit of lure fishing on the point at Fairebourne thank you for videos they are a breath of fresh air 👍
Thank you Walter, I'm pleased that you're enjoying the videos. Yes that's it, I think we're all guilty of thinking we can still do it all, I'm the same on those rocks...think I can run up them like I used to ha! The Mawddach Trail sounds perfect and it's nice that the place has reinvigorated your love for cycling! Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Well you have well and truly cracked it. Fishing on your own is the very best release from all life's worries. You are a true Fisherman that takes great pride of the kit that you have built up over the years that still works perfectly. As for dwelling on the past , well most of us have more past than future so why not use it every day to keep that smile going in an uncertain future. Great video as always my friend .
Thanks bud, I appreciate it, nice of you to say. Yes I guess I'm old school when it comes to fishing, hence why I still like to use my old tackle, I don't like change ha! Yes true that, most of us certainly do have more of a past than a future and it's nice to reminisce, keeps those memories alive doesn't it! Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Gareth one of the things I enjoy about your video’s is just how humble and normal you come across as. It’s one of the reasons I watch them again and again. Still on the road to recovery after my coma experience but until I can finally get out you are fishing for me.
Thank you John, I appreciate that. Yes your coma experience must have been a scary one and I hope you continue to recover well, you'll get there! In the meantime, I'll keep doing my best to make relaxing videos. Some new marks coming up which hopefully you will enjoy. Look after yourself and take care 👍
Good Morning from a flooded Hereford Gareth!!! It's been a nightmare few days with the weather, but at least all the stock is safe & moved to higher ground... Thank you for the 'escape', a moment to just 'switch off ', not literally!!! & enjoy your video's, it really is something to look forward to!! Smiled when you mentioned about looking after 'old stuff'.....I don't get to see fish any more, but I've still got my Daiwa moonraker rod & it's looked after like I used it y/day....same goes with my rifle....it's probably classed as an antique but never let's me down, when I need it... .another conger to save the blank but it really ain't about catching... Well done again buddy & look forward to the next show!! Look after yourself & stay safe... Jon.
Hi Jon, sorry to hear that the past few days have been tricky for you, the weather has been atrocious, although I'm glad you managed to move the stock to higher ground. Ah yes, I remember the Daiwa Moonrakers, they were the rods to have back in the day, my Dad's mate had one. Yes that's right, our old faithfuls never let us down do they, and of course, they hold many great memories for us. A quiet session this one but it was a nice morning out, despite that strong wind ha! Cheers as always bud, have a good weekend 👍
Hi mate, thanks for the work you put in making these videos, it’s not just the fishing or scenery, it’s all about the words you say, I have served 30 years for my country and suffer daily but like you fishing is my release, I listen to what you say and can definitely relate, thank you for just being you 👍 😊
Hi Shaun, hope you're well bud. Thank you for serving our country, we very much appreciate it!! I'm pleased to hear that you find the videos relatable, I guess I'm just myself when speaking, I do like a bit of deep chat. Hopefully more to come with a bit of luck, I might try a bit further down the coast if I get the time. Have a good weekend 👍
Another grt vid Gareth, nice to see the hips, that time of the year again, talking about the past, brilliant, we can"t talk about tomorrow we haven"t done anything yet, yesterday"s catch helps you know where you are going to go tomorrow, if you know what I mean. lol
Nice words Cliff, nice words indeed. Yes very true indeed, I suppose none of us know what tomorrow will bring but our past will always be a factor in what does happen. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Hi Gareth mate well done on another cracking video...always enjoy watching your videos...take care mate look forward to watching your next video mate cheers Gareth
Thanks Nathan, appreciated as always. A quiet session but I still enjoyed it, I do like this spot, many good memories. Hope you're well mate, take it easy 👍
Hello Gareth I’m in the retirement stage of life (late 60s) and getting back into fishing. The estuary isn’t too far from me (Pontypool). I enjoy your videos and as you comment, not just for the fishing. Good luck with the fishing and whatever you chose in life Paul
Hi Paul, I'm pleased to hear that you're getting back into fishing. Yes that's it, nowadays I just enjoy spending a few hours next to the water and the fish are a bonus, being out is what it's all about! Thank you, I appreciate it 👍
Hi mate. Great video as always. Down to earth, honest content. With fishing to top it off. Your effort and input is much appreciated. Well done and thanks for sharing. 👍🎣
Thank you Carl, I appreciate it, nice of you to say. The fishing was slow but it was a nice morning out, I couldn't complain. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Yes you're not wrong there Nick. A quiet session but I managed to make the most of the morning before the rain came in ha! Hope all is good with you, take care 👍
Nice to see you out more often mate. Everytime I'm out fishing the upper channel I always find myself reminiscing. I think so much changes over time but the marks we fish and your own experiences remain the same. Great video again mate, keep up the good work😁👍
Thanks bud, I appreciate it. Yes I'm the same, I always reminisce when I'm out there, those marks don't change as you say. A quiet session but it was enjoyable all the same, although that south westerly was a little challenging ha! Have a good weekend 👍
Cheers Gareth enjoyed the video. Like you I like to look after my stuff and if it’s still doing a job why change and there’s the history and memories they carry with them. You take care mate 👍🎣🎣
Very well put Stephen, you're spot on there, our fishing tackle does carry many great memories, hence why I don't like replacing it. Hope you're well bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Back on the conger channel again! Most of us beat the blank with a doggy, you've upped the anti with those eels! 😂 Hope you didn't get a soaking. Until the next one......
Haha thanks Martin, those Congers love to follow me around, they really do! I had a pleasure session with a friend of mine last Sunday, we had 9 between us, they certainly kept us busy! Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Thank you Simon, the Conger saves the day again ha! Those rocks were tricky and I'm not quite sure how I managed to make this video ha! You too bud, enjoy it and take care 👍
Hi Gareth. I can’t keep up with you. I wish I could get out as much as you. Love this vid. Good Conger. Won’t be long before the whiting will be biting. Stay lucky….tight lines
Thanks Ronald, appreciated as always. Haha I only go fishing once a week, roll on retirement, that's what I say!! Yes they won't be long, I love fishing for whiting, they bring back great memories. Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍
Another amazing video Gareth mate....i see that you beat the blank with the conger. They should call you the conger king lol. Enjoy your weekend mate 👍
Haha thanks Robert, the congers certainly do follow me around! A tough session but I still enjoyed it, I made the most of my day off work! You too bud, have a good one 👍
Thank you Lee, nice of you to say. I couldn't get this one right, those rocks proved to be a little tricky to say the least ha! Oh well, there's always next time. Enjoy the weekend 👍
Thank you Ceri, much appreciated. I bet you have some great memories of when you fished with your Dad, these memories will last a lifetime. Cheers bud, take care 👍
Really enjoy your videos, I like to hear your stories about life and fishing with your dad. Fishing is what helps me chill after tough days at work, and just tough ti es in general. All the best and keep the videos coming.
Thank you Stephen, I'm pleased to hear that you enjoy the videos, I do enjoy a bit of reminiscing! Yes me too, I always look forward to spending some time next to the water after a tough day at work. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
There is something mystical and magical about being near water whether i am out for a walk locally or on holiday by the sea, i feel that from your videos. The peace and serenity from the sound of the water, that's what makes yours so compelling to watch. Don't get me wrong i enjoy a couple of other regular fishing channels but while they have their own qualities non of them have what yours has. Thanks for taking the trouble and making the effort to produce what you do!!
Thank you bud, I appreciate it, nice of you to say. Yes I know what you mean, there's something special about being next to the water and that's what I look forward to the most these days, the fish are just a bonus. I have a few days off work soon and hopefully I can fish some new marks. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍
Excellent video really enjoyed that. You have a very calming voice and demeanour . The sounds were especially alive today and talking about sounds you should do something with that voice of yours just my opinion.
Thank you Huw, I appreciate that. Haha, no one wants the voice of a working class valley boy like me, I'm not posh enough!! A nice morning out in fairness, I couldn't complain. Some different marks coming up soon. Enjoy the weekend 👍
Another fantastic video Gareth. Beautiful location, filming, sound track, and presenting of course 🙂 Thanks for getting out and sharing this lovely coastline with us. A definite mood lifter for me.
You're welcome Pete, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Not one of my better videos as it was hard work on those rocks but it was still a nice day out, I couldn't grumble. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
Another cracking video Gareth you make my day every time your videos come up. Looking forward to seeing your next video and nice conger bye the way. Take care and stay safe tight lines 👍👍🎣🎣
Thank you Jon, I'm pleased that you enjoyed the video. Some new marks coming up soon that I've not fished before, hopefully the fishing gods will be on my side ha! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
Nice video Gareth. I’ve fished the Black pipe many times but not for years. Used to get plenty of small whiting and Codling back in the day. Thanks for sharing your session fella.
Thank you Richie. Ah yes, those were the days weren't they, plenty of Whiting and Codling back then as you say. I hope that one day they can make a comeback, that would be great. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
Another great video Gareth. Such a breath of fresh air seeing the amazing scenery shots and listening to the relaxing music. Irrelevant of whether you catch or not is not important. ALL your videos are good because they are true to life of how fishing really is nowadays. If you fish 3 or 4 times a week like some You Tubers, you will show larger catches. Not many of us have that luxury. Don't change anything, you are doing great. Oh and I reckon you take that conger with you each time because you always seem to catch him 😂
Haha thanks Andy, you've finally realised that I have a pet conger, I take him everywhere with me, hence why he always saves the blank! He's sleeping at the moment, just been fed! Not one of my better videos but it was still nice to be out there, I couldn't complain. Yes I only get the chance to go fishing once a week and I have to make the most of that session, I just have to go with the flow and hope for the best! Hopefully more to come soon, cheers for watching and have a good weekend 👍
Again gareth enjoyed ur latest vid no matter how many or if any catch its about the time spent by the water so soothing ty my friend once again for another grt watch 😊makes all the differance tight lines till nxt time gareth and keep well
Thank you John, I appreciate that, nice of you to say. I sometimes get a little paranoid when there's a lack of fish but I'm pleased that you enjoy the videos regardless. Cheers for the continued support, have a good weekend 👍
Thank you Gary, appreciated as always bud. I struggled to film this one, I just couldn't get it right, hopefully the next one will be better. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍
At least with reminiscing, it proves your memory still works another great video. Here in Kent we don't get many conger, but then we do get tons of doggies so it's swings and roundabouts
Ha yes, you're right there Daniel! The congers often save the day up this way, they like to follow me around! I've not caught a Dogfish for a while, they tend to be further west. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Cheers Gareth, I always enjoy your videos, my secret to a happy life is be your own man, only do what you enjoy, and most of the time its the simple things in life than can give you the most pleasure, if there is something wrong in your life only you can change it. and if you cant dont worry about it let it go.
Yes definitely Allen, being your own person is so important, doing the things that you enjoy. Problems usually start when we try to follow the crowds, for example. The simple things in life have always appealed to me the most, they provide the most pleasure. Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍
Hi gareth we all have off days , great video that sun low on the water ...stunning ,music similar to relaxation tapes I had from MIND cdf very mood raising ,any way my weekend I thought was going to be a wash out ,but you popped up sparked me right up ,I go fishing with you gar ,thats good enough for me ,both my knees creek ,frozen shoulder but I get the buzz on my old marks ty keep well ,mark cdf x
Hi Mark, hope you're well. Thank you, it was an enjoyable morning, the fishing was slow but enjoyable all the same. I'm glad the videos help you to chill out, I always try to match the music to the venue. I'll be hitting the Gower soon, try some new spots down there, just need the weather to behave. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍
Great watch , those rocks scary I'm over 70 and fell in Dartmouth cut myself badly and inches from going in the water , never told the family how ill l felt not wanting to spoil the holiday, please be careful,
Thank you Tony. Yes you're spot on, those rocks are lethal, especially when wet and I've had many a fall. Sounds like you had a nasty fall yourself, must have been a scary moment for you...I hope it didn't take too long to recover. Enjoy the weekend 👍
Thank you Paul, I appreciate that, nice of you to say bud. I'll probably be further down the coast on the next one, hopefully the weather will behave ha! Enjoy the weekend 👍
Keep doing what you're doing Gareth, I love how you put your emotions into the video and talk about the past, we must never forget our parents and should always think and talk about them, however upsetting it can be on times, and yes life can be cruel sometimes , but it does help to talk! You are very talented Gareth and a natural. Love your videos! Take care and have a good weekend x
Thank you Patricia, your meaningful words are appreciated. Yes you're right, we should never forget our past, I guess our past will always shape our future. I struggled to film this one, trying to balance the camera tripod on those rocks was a little tricky ha! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
Thank you John, I'm pleased to hear that the videos make you feel better, that's great to hear. Some new marks coming up soon and hopefully you'll enjoy them. Have a good weekend 👍
@@riversidewithmethank you mate. Look forward to the new venues. I'm just getting my shore fishing kit back up together, so hopefully I'll be out again soon, a simple to get to venue close to me in Caldicot as my health issues don't let me walk to far. Probably be BlackRock and the Cardiff barrage, penarth beach and pier if I can get parked close enough and Cold Knapp
Cheers Gareth, beautiful scenery shots. I have always been a morning person and swear it’s the best part of the day 😁😂 Hearing that water so close and the wind blowing the cobwebs away helps me massively with the struggles of life, hope it does for you. There’s something cosy about heading home just before a bad weather front comes in too! Life is a mystery to me likewise, I just try to focus on nice things, nice people, nature, the outdoors and good memories. Take it easy, thanks again it’s very much appreciated 😁🎣
Thank you Andy. Yes definitely, there's something special about an early morning session, certainly does the trick as you say. Ha that bad weather hit as soon as I got back to the car, it hammered down, talk about good timing! Yes wise words indeed, focus on the things you mentioned and you can't go far wrong in life. Cheers for the continued support, have a good weekend 👍
Good stuff Gareth, nice little session. Yes if you look after your gear it will look after you. I service all my reels, some are years old but like new. I've got to give it to you answering all comments must take some doing well done. Cod are showing up your area now, so hopefully you'll get into them. Have a great weekend. All the best from south west Wales 👍.
Thanks bud, it was nice to be out there again, despite that strong south westerly ha! Yes definitely, nice to look after the tackle isn't it, well done for servicing your reels, they will most certainly look after you. It would be nice to get a few Cod this year for old times sake, we caught so many back in the 80s/90s. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
Loved the video mate, really enjoying the Friday uploads. Makes me smile when i get the notification 😁 Lovely conger for the sesh, its been a while since i got out now i really need to get myself together and get on the beach somewhere. Hope you’re well mate 🎣👍🏻
I'm good thanks Scott, hope all is well your end. A quiet session but it was enjoyable in fairness, I wanted to fit one in before work the next day ha! Yes get out there mate, sounds like you're due a session now. I hardly did any fishing during the summer as I was too busy and so it's nice to be out there again. See you on Nell's Point, take care Scott 👍
Came across your videos a few weeks ago, loving them, I am a Newport boy, went fishing with my uncle when I was young, I live in the past, best memories, now 63 forgot what my uncle taught me, so finding your filming helpful, thanks
Thank you Alan, I'm pleased that you're finding the videos useful. Sounds like you have some good memories of when you fished with your uncle, those memories will last a lifetime. Enjoy the weekend 👍
Lovely video as always Gareth it’s not about catching loads of fish and promoting everyone’s rod , reel and bait it’s nice to see someone doing something they love doing and trying to give something different to their audience. Thank you once again for your time effort and enthusiasm.
You're welcome Steve, thank you. A slow session but enjoyable all the same, it was a pleasant morning off work. I guess I'm just myself when filming, there's no act for the camera or anything, I'm the same in real life ha! Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍
I can really relate to your two quotes mate and as I always say your videos help me a lot, everyone’s story is different but hearing and watching someone like you mate overcome your problems and how you go about it is so settling for people , certainly me after a tough week , thankyou and keep this cracking content coming pal 👍
Thank you Andrew, I'm pleased that you found the video relatable, that's good to hear. I do like a bit of deep chat as I'm aware that life is not easy and a bit of depth is good for the mind I think. I'll hopefully be out again next week as I have a day off work. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
@@riversidewithme yes I do to pal , I can see how much you love looking back at your great times with your dad and I can tell you now he will be really proud of what you are doing here , 👍
His ur dads boat rod going to safe the day with a nice conger cos he's always with u and u r makeing him proud every vid hope ur doing well gareth 👍👍👍👍👍
Ah thanks bud, I appreciate the meaningful words. Yes I'd like to think that he is always with me, it's a comforting thought. Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍
Thank you Kev, much appreciated. The fishing was quiet but I still enjoyed it, despite the strong South Westerly ha! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
Hi Gareth great video looks like it was very hard work to make ten out of ten for your efforts & a nice conger look forward to Friday it's not the same without your fantastic videos thanks a lot mate
Thank you Michael. Ha yes, this one wasn't easy to make, those rocks were a killer ha! The fishing was very quiet but I wasn't too surprised to be honest. Hope all is ok your end, have a good weekend 👍
Thank you Jeff, appreciated as always. Not one of my better ones, the wind and rocks proved to be hard work but there we are ha! Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍
You're welcome John, thank you. A quiet session but it was still nice to be out there. I'm further down the coast next week, will see how the clear water is fishing. Cheers for watching, enjoy the beer 👍
Thank you Paul, I'm pleased to hear that. The wind was a struggle when filming this one but it was still nice to be out there. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
Great fish, another cracking video. Always love the scenery side of your videos, I've always enjoyed watching the world go by as I fish. Watching this with my daughter, first time she's been calm all day. Best times chilling with her 😊
Thank you Dane, I'm pleased that you're enjoying the video with your daughter, that's great! A quiet session but I still enjoyed it, just nice being next to the water isn't it. Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍
@riversidewithme nothing wrong with a quiet session, let's you empty the mind. I'm looking forward to being able to teach the little one, she's fascinated with fishing
You're welcome Paul. Yes you don't see many people down there, a few walkers but that's about it. Where I'm going next week is even more isolated, nice little beach down at The Gower. Cheers as always, take care 👍
Hi Gar my son and I love your videos butty ,as you've said there are better angler's out there but none of them touch me like you do mate your a real gentleman and fair play gar you've always replied to my comments with a not just one word but a short paragraph keep well mate ,Gar my son Ieuan loves your videos if you could give him a mention it would make is day best wishes kelvin Saunders 😊
Thank you Kelvin, nice of you to say. The fish didn't want to play ball during this session but I still enjoyed being there, not a bad morning apart from that wind ha! I'll probably head further down the coast for the next one, will see how the clearer water is fishing for a change. Thank you, I think your son commented on my last video, I appreciate the continued support, Il try to remember the shout-out, although my brain isn't as sharp as it once was ha! Enjoy the weekend, take care 👍
Ah thank you Dave, nice of you to say. The south westerly wind proved to be a little tricky when filming this one but hopefully I'll get the next one right ha! Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
@dd14748 I think so, although it was a long time ago, Westward Ho beach, although I'm not sure if that's classed as North Devon. Good luck with the Barnstaple move, sounds nice that 👍
Great watch once again Gareth, You chose ragworm as your no1 bait, the bait I’ve got a few of my pb’s on is surprisingly frozen cooked jumbo king prawns 🦐 lol, was getting 3 packs for a tenner at farm foods 😂 Had my biggest pollock, thornback, spotted ray, cuckoo wrasse, ballan wrasse, smooth hound, spurdog, bull Huss, cod, bass and tub gurnard all to the prawns, Tight lines bud Thanks for sharing it with us 🎣👍
Right that's it, I'm off to Farm foods to get those prawns, there's one about 3 minutes from my house, literally ha! Thanks for the nfo Nigel, I'll certainly give them a go! Funny isn't it how we all have our favourite baits, although I'm quite stubborn and don't do change, but will defo try the prawns! Hope all is good with you bud, have a nice weekend 👍
another great video Gareth gutted i’m not out on the beach this weekend but at least i’ll get a couple of hours on my local river after work tomorrow keep doing what you do your videos are brilliant
Thanks Luke, appreciated as always bud. Hope you have a good session on your local river after work tomorrow, sounds like a plan! Tight lines, take it easy 👍
Done it again loved every minute of the video. Tranquility base just the sea , wildlife and your thoughts, can anything be better. I know I feel very relaxed after watching. Can't wait for more. Regards to you and the family.have a great weekend
Thank you Bob, I'm pleased to hear that the videos help to relax you, that's great. The wind was very strong when filming this one but the wall saved me ha, it provided a nice bit of shelter. Hope you and your family are well, have a good weekend 👍
Superb video again Gareth even though you said it was not flowing I thought it was great. I've been struggling with a slipped disc since June so feeling my age also just about getting around now loving the vids fished the area many times takes me back can't wait to get back out when I'm back on my feet keep up the good work bud 👍
Sorry to hear that Vince, sounds nasty. Hopefully your recovery will not take too long and you get back out there again! I slipped a disc years ago playing football and every now and then it comes back to haunt me and so I can appreciate how you feel. Cheers as always, look after yourself 👍
great watch again gareth mate, nice conger too, i only ever seem to find the goldfish whiting down here, but i still go whenever i can. can’t wait for the next 👍🏻
Thank you Keiran, much appreciated. The fishing was quiet but it was still an enjoyable morning to be fair. Hopefully the better Whiting will arrive in the next few weeks, that would be nice to see! Cheers bud, take care 👍
Well Gareth yet another trip down memory lane for me .I have spent many happy hours fishing from the concert pad in front of me old pump house.you walked past to get to where you were in this video..I have to admit that without your videos at my age all those memories would be lost to me. The biggest flounder I ever caught was just to the left of the black pipe it covered the seat onu tackle box. The reason I fished in front of the pump house was because I could cast of it And lean my rods on the handrails.i found that it I tucked in beneath the top of the wall I was out of the wind.and rain... Anyway Gareth keep yourself safe and well mate.
Thank you Wayne, I'm pleased that the video brought back some nice memories for you, great stuff. Yes I also enjoy fishing in front of the pump house, I've had some cracking sessions off that concrete slab over the years. I bet you were chuffed with that Flounder, was a cracker by the sound of it! This was a quiet session but it's what I expected to be honest, it was just nice to have a morning off work. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
Thank you Christopher. Ha yes, those rocks were tricky to say the least, trying to balance the camera tripod on them was an impossible task, quite funny really. I'm hitting the clear water next further west, hopefully the weather will behave. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Hello Gareth,as always a brilliant film .And yes if you kook after your tackle it lasts along. I,m still using some of dads stuff and he passed away 25 years ago.Nearly forgot nice conger.Looking forward to next week.
Thank you Andy, appreciated as always. Nice that you're still using some of your Dad's tackle, that's great to hear. I'll be further down the coast next week, see how the clear water is fishing. Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍
One fish or fish a cast always a good watch think I'm going to have to put myself into the catorgry want to go fishing but can't still bound to get some good days in Brixham ❤
Thanks John, appreciated as always. Sorry to hear that you still can't get out, hopefully not too long until you can wet a line again. Yes you're right, Brixham will no doubt produce the goods! Cheers bud, take care 👍
Epic video once again Gareth, mate,I can honestly say, even if there weren't any fishing in your videos I would still watch them. I find them very relaxing and at times, when suffering from anxiety, they have been really comforting.thanks for all you do Gareth.
Thank you Angus, I'm pleased to hear that the videos help you, that's great. I get anxiety too and for me it has gotten worse with age, not nice is it. I'll hopefully be down the Gower shortly, been a while since I fished down that way. Have a good weekend 👍
@riversidewithme yes ,I ve only suffered with it later in life. It came with the cptsd. Love the gower, last time I fished down that way ,was on wormshead, lots of dogs and a few mackerel. Hope you stay well, take care mate.
Hello Gareth another great watch I always look forward to watching your videos. I have only been fishing for a year and I love it so much there is nothing better then going to the beach and having a chill and a good session it’s the only thing that keeps me going you see as I’m in a care home there isn’t a lot I have a big passion for but fishing is the best thing I look forward too 😊
Thank you Dylan, I appreciate it. Fishing is great isn't it, spending a few hours next to the water and taking it all in, you can't beat it. Ah yes, I can understand that there isn't much to do in the care home but it's great that you got into fishing, no doubt you have many enjoyable sessions in front of you. Keep on fishing bud, take it easy 👍
Hey up Gareth, as always mate another fantastic Video, I look forward to my Friday evening watching your latest one, Thank you for all the effort you have put in to post these👍👍
Hiya Nick, hope you're doing ok bud. Thank you, I appreciate it. A quiet session but I guess that's how it goes ha, there's always next time! Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Thanks Tone. A quiet session but it was still nice to have a day off work. I'm good thanks mate, hope all is ok your end. Tight lines for your next session 👍🐟
Gotta love the marks around newport i fish predominately between Magor ledges and hazels farm goldcliffe, with the odd foray over the river to my birth place at st brides i to have fished these marks for over 40yrs and picking up on your last vid the decline in fish stocks, accents from all parts of the uk to which was one of the the top cod marks redwick, i rememder an open match in october at redwick 30lb of fish did,nt get you in top 5 places 1st place was ivor smith with 46lb of fish thornback conger and cod, sadly them days long gone your vids gaz really capture the essence of newport brings back wonderful memories of friends and family truely wonderful people some sadly passed on......keep at it pal wonderful person you are.....👍🏴
Thanks Daz, appreciated as always. Yes same here, I mostly fish the Newport marks, they have a special place in my heart. As you say, the fishing back in the day was awesome, some of the best Cod fishing in the UK, I also miss the big Whiting that we used to get. Sad really, I can't see things improving anytime soon. But we'll keep trying and you never know, we may see a positive change at some point. Just nice places to be aren't they and any fish which turn up are a bonus! Cheers as always bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Haha very true that Sam, it certainly has! Thank you, the fishing was slow but it was still nice to be out there, before that rain came in ha! Thanks bud, take it easy 👍
Yes I know what you mean Luke, life here isn't the same anymore, too much control. Thanks bud, it was a quiet session but still enjoyable. Take it easy 👍
Keep going Gareth you are an inspiration! Cheers for sharing!
Thanks bud, nice of you to say. I have a day off work next week and so I'll try further west, will see how the clear water is fishing. Take it easy 👍
@@riversidewithme looking forward to it. all the best!
The World needs more people like you Gareth, keep up the good work!
Ah thank you Ben, nice of you to say, I appreciate it. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Absolutely spot on about Ragworm Gareth, best universal bait.
Yes it does seem to outfish every other bait, I don't think any fish would turn down a ragworm! Thank Elliot 👍
Great video Gareth always a pleasure to watch you do your thing 👍
Thank you Leighton. The fish didn't want to play ball but I still enjoyed it, got to try haven't we! Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍
I have to say Gar that I still chuckle thinking of you giving that 'honest little conger' 100 lines. Brilliant 😂
Haha yes, that was down at Laverock last year! The Congers definitely follow me around, no doubt about it 😂
Gareth one of the things I enjoy about your video’s is just how humble and normal you come across as.
Re your comment about replying to all comments, its called being polite and kind. Well done and thank you🙂🙂
You're welcome Dave, no problem at all. Have a good weekend 👍
Hi Gareth. Great video, as always. Life is what you make it, i guess? Always have some regrets. Cheers and tight lines.
Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
a nice conga you had there Gareth mate hope you have a fab weekend and take it easy now mate👍 and can't wait to see the next video drop mate👍🙂🎣👍

Wonderful looking fish the conger , especially with the shade of blue they can have . Great stills also ....
Yes I agree with you there Andy. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I love catching them. Thank you for watching, take care 👍
Another good video Gareth, saved by a Conger too, no surprises there. Cheers mate
Thank you Chris. Ha yes, I can often rely on a Conger to save the day! Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Another great watch ,don't ever worry about making a bad video because I don't think you can 💪👍
Thank you Lee, nice of you to say. I couldn't get this one right, those rocks proved to be a little tricky to say the least ha! Oh well, there's always next time. Enjoy the weekend 👍
Great video Gar! Haven't been fishing for years. Well since my dad passed. Watching your videos brings back memories. All good! Cheers
Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
another good vid mate. its like 2 mates fishing by the sea putting the world to rights. Love it great stuff.
Thank you Dean, that's good to hear. The fishing was quiet but it was just nice being there. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Great work as always Gareth, and a conger is better than nothing 💪🐟🎣. Congrats on all your new subscribers too 👌
Thank you Kevin. A quiet session but I still enjoyed it, I just about beat the weather ha! Cheers as always, take care 👍
Beautiful location, filming, sound track, and presenting of course 🙂
Thanks for getting out and sharing this lovely coastline with us.

@@JonSibley-m8wThanks Jon ❤️
We could hear the wind blowing, well done Gareth you’re out doing what you love finishing. 👍🎣
Ah yes, the South Westerly was strong that day Richard, it was a challenge ha! Thank you, it was nice to be out there having a go. Enjoy the weekend 👍

Great watch , those rocks scary I'm over 70 and fell in Dartmouth cut myself badly and inches from going in the water , never told the family how ill l felt not wanting to spoil the holiday, please be careful,

Another great video don't doubt yourself they are what us subscribers want just a shame I've got to wait till next week
Ah thank you Dave, nice of you to say. The south westerly wind proved to be a little tricky when filming this one but hopefully I'll get the next one right ha! Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Quick question have you ever fished north Devon because I am leaving Brixham 😂. To live in a retirement housing in Barnstaple
@dd14748 I think so, although it was a long time ago, Westward Ho beach, although I'm not sure if that's classed as North Devon. Good luck with the Barnstaple move, sounds nice that 👍
I love opening UA-cam and the 1st thing on my feed is a r.w.m video cheers m8 awesome 👌
Ah thanks bud, I appreciate it. I wasn't happy with this one, I didn't film it properly but I'll try to get the next one right. Have a nice weekend 👍
Great watch once again Gareth,
You chose ragworm as your no1 bait, the bait I’ve got a few of my pb’s on is surprisingly frozen cooked jumbo king prawns 🦐 lol, was getting 3 packs for a tenner at farm foods 😂
Had my biggest pollock, thornback, spotted ray, cuckoo wrasse, ballan wrasse, smooth hound, spurdog, bull Huss, cod, bass and tub gurnard all to the prawns,
Tight lines bud
Thanks for sharing it with us 🎣👍
Right that's it, I'm off to Farm foods to get those prawns, there's one about 3 minutes from my house, literally ha! Thanks for the nfo Nigel, I'll certainly give them a go! Funny isn't it how we all have our favourite baits, although I'm quite stubborn and don't do change, but will defo try the prawns! Hope all is good with you bud, have a nice weekend 👍
@@riversidewithme
I’ve tried the raw ones and never caught anything, must be the pink colour lol
@@snowyman5683😂👍

The reason I fished in front of the pump house was because I could cast of it
And lean my rods on the handrails.i found that it I tucked in beneath the top of the wall I was out of the wind.and rain...
Hay Gareth another top video as always even though it looked a bit uncomfortable but hey you beat the blank well done matey and look after yourself.
Chill dude brilliant video dont let them bring you mate
Thank you Neil, nice of you to say. I couldn't get this one right, angles were all wrong but there's always next time ha! Enjoy the weekend 👍

@angusmichaelhawkins1268 ❤️

Cheers as always bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
love your videos Gareth, by the way that right rod is new, it's just had 5 new tips, 2 new shafts :)
Haha very true that Sam, it certainly has! Thank you, the fishing was slow but it was still nice to be out there, before that rain came in ha! Thanks bud, take it easy 👍
I'm really struggling with life in the uk at the moment. Thanks Gareth I really need this one
Yes I know what you mean Luke, life here isn't the same anymore, too much control. Thanks bud, it was a quiet session but still enjoyable. Take it easy 👍

Thank you Carl, I appreciate it bud. All good thanks bud, I hope you and yours are doing well! Tale care 👍
As I said before Gareth them rocks are dangerous shame we did not have a shingle coast
They certainly are Roy, I've slipped many times. Mind you, my favourite Gower mark is also a killer...why do we do it ha!
