I hope everyone is well. As I mentioned in the video, there is currently a Public Spaces Protection Order in place at Berry Head and the link below provides more information. Thank you for watching, take care; www.torbay.gov.uk/asb-environment-and-nuisance/pspo/berry-head/#:~:text=After%20receiving%20overwhelming%20support%2C%20the,to%20enjoy%20the%20area%20responsibly
Thanks for highlighting the plight of the local anglers of Torbay ... The Berry head problems started years ago , but culminated in absolute chaos a year or 2 back ... I've seen the pictures of the state of the place ...and also stories of locals being literally threatened with violence etc... Bags full of fish dumped ,hooks, feathers, line, bbqs ,and all manner of other crap ...literally just dumped all over that area ... And like you said , the warnings and new rules are being ignored by those responsible for causing the problems.... The police etc do nothing ,and there's nobody around ,or brave enough to confront the perpetrators... Nice seeing you catch some fish there though ...Gives some hope...Because the featherers aren't the only ones plundering the sea here ...There are others ,who target all species ,big or small and they all get thrown in a bucket regardless... Sadly torbay fishing has suffered greatly ... There's plenty of other places to go ,so we head out of town now.. Good luck in the future, and thanks again from a Torquay based novice as such ...
@derekmay8679 Thank you Derek. Yes it's such a shame as to what's going on at Torbay. These people have zero respect, they don't care about the fish or the surrounding environment. I could see what they were doing at Berry Head and it was making my blood boil, they were taking hundreds of Mackerel off the concrete platform. I walked over to where they were and tried to film them, however they outnumbered me and so I walked back to my spot. As you say, they know they'll get away with it every time as no one will touch them, what a sad state of affairs, I hope karma catches up with them. Thank you for your input and I hope things will start to improve.
Just came here to say this!! As a local this pissed me off!! Thankfully they sorted it now and is reopened to ppl again👍 Think they have the same problem on hopes nose in Torquay 😡
as someone who has long enjoyed watching you on your travels around our beautiful shores, and who ,although now disabled, still enjoys fishing, I fully agree and support your comments regarding the shameful state of our fisheries management! For far too long little or nothing has been done to prevent the abuse and destruction of far too many of our places of SSSI as well as other venues, not only by the organised gangs you mention, but also by so called anglers who leave the venue in such a disgraceful state! Although in the minority, the damage this causes has a profound effect on both the local area and causes problems for the GENUINE fishermen who appreciate and treasure the places they fish! Long may you carry on with your wonderful videos, they cheer so many people up, and encourage many more to respect our heritage. THANK YOU GARETH!
Thank you David, I appreciate the kind words. I totally agree, there's such a lack of enforcement when it comes to such matters and the disrespectful people who damage the marks are fully aware of this. It really makes me angry when I witness this disgraceful behaviour and I struggle to hold myself back. Berry Head is a prime example, there's a protection order in place but there's no money to enforce it on a daily basis, it's such a shame. I'll continue to promote the importance of the marks I fish when making the videos, I guess every little helps. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Close to my heart this mate. i am 39, i was born an hour from there. its my go to when i was a kid. many memories with my old man there. he was a treorcy lad moved down this way before i was born. it's been happening for years. when i was a kid, you could drive down. then they stopped it because foreigners (mainly) were camping (not allowed) getting drunk, leaving crap everywhere and taking everything. when they stopped allowing people to drive down you would walk back up and i would see massive black bin liners of mackeral left on the road because they couldn't carry them all the way back up, as you know, its a huge hill it was heartbreaking. they would come down and cast over you. no shock leader, no respect. that area is gorgeous, just like hope nose across the way. it was like it there too. i remember as a kid down there a load of eastern Europeans (adult) came down and were throwing rocks at a seal. my dad and his biker mate had it out with them. police were called, they did nothing. country is going to pot, there is an anger building in this country and we are coming to a cross roads. all that said. It's great to see you out again mate, and welcome to my area of the country, if i see you about, I'll grab you a pint.
Thanks bud, I appreciate your comment. Sounds like you have some fantastic memories of Berry Head. Such a shame that the place gets destroyed by those that don't care, they literally don't care do they. Totally agree, this country has gone to the dogs and I can't see things improving anytime soon! I'll look forward to that pint should I bump into you! Cheers bud, take care 👍
Another great video m8 as you said it's a nice place I've fished it a few time and every time I've gone there it was always packed out with rubbish littered everywhere and turds and the smell of pee was vile and the amount of fish I have seen been taken was outrageous made me very angry but that's what it's like when people want to be greedy and have no respect for any one
@@kirkthorne4229Thanks Kirk, it was an enjoyable session in fairness, what a beautiful place. As you say, the place gets trashed by those that don't care and they always get away with it, that's the annoying thing. I'm hoping to go back soon, I'd love to give it another crack. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
Hi Gareth, These plastic fisherman are everywhere. Once the macky go so do they. (Good). Nice session, cracking whiting, we once had whiting like that , but not anymore, just small pin whiting now. Weather has been very cold, but all change for the weekend. Might get out at some point. Have a good weekend .Well all the best from south west Wales. 👍
Thanks bud. Yes they are everywhere, like an invasive species destroying everything! It really makes me angry, they don't care about anything! Cracking Whiting weren't they, we also used to get these big ones up our way but not anymore, sad really. Yes the weather is looking a little dodgy this weekend but hopefully you can get a session in at some point, Sunday is looking better I think. Take care 👍
Thank you Paul. Yes I agree, the summer should produce some very good fishing at this place, many different species in that deep water! Cheers as always, take care 👍
It needs people like yourself to keep caring and keep highlighting what the selfish do. Keep going my friend. Peace and respect our oceans and environment
Thank you Paul, I appreciate that. Yes I care passionately about this subject and it really winds me up when I see people disrespecting our seas and surrounding environments, they have zero respect. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Thank you for these videos Gar. These latest ones have kept me going with my latest trip to hospital. I'm ok now but I just wanted to make a conscious effort to tell you how greatful I am for the videos as I assume everyone else is. Keep it up 💪🏻
You're welcome bud, I'm glad the videos have been helping you and I'm pleased to hear that you're on the mend, good stuff! Nasty bit of weather this weekend although looking a little better mid-week. Cheers as always, take care 👍
What a great session Gareth, your looking well I think the sea air is doing you some good. Thank you for another fantastic video like everyone else I look forward to them.
Thank you Les, it was a nice session in fairness, such a beautiful mark and I'm going to return later this winter. I think the break did me good, it was very much needed ha! Hope all is good your end, take it easy 👍
Thank you Dai, I appreciate that, nice of you to say. It was great to see those big Whiting, reminded me of the old days. Cheers as always, take care 👍
Cheers Carl, it was a lovely session in fairness, such a stunning place. We're good thanks bud, hope all is well with you and yours. Enjoy the weekend 👍
What a cracking session Gareth, thanks as always for another entertaining video 😃 Been a long time since I had whiting that size! Hope you enjoyed your break, take it easy 🎣
Thank you Andy, it was a nice little break. Yes those Whiting were crackers, the biggest I've caught in years, great to see. Lovely mark and I'll definitely give it another go. Cheers for watching, have a nice weekend 👍
Thank you Patricia, it was nice to spend some time down in Brixham, one of my favourite places. Beautiful mark and I'm hoping to go back later this year, that would be good! Hope you're well, have a great weekend 👍
Thanks bud, I appreciate it. I guess I'm just myself when filming and the emotions often come out ha! Hopefully more to come soon with a bit of luck, cheers for watching 👍
Great video again, the intro amazing, all I can say is watch out David Attenborough, I also love Brixham, so sad to hear about the problems, take care, thanks again
Thank you Alan, much appreciated. I always try my best to make a relaxing watch, not easy but I try. Yes, this place is stunning and it's a shame that certain individuals destroy it, they have zero respect. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Some cracking whiting there Gareth. We called them "channels" down here in Kent in the good old days as well. I got out fishing during the week. The first opportunity in 10 months. I also had some good sized whiting which was good to see, rather than the usual pins. Great video as usual. Fantastic scenery shots👍👍
Thanks Andy, it was an enjoyable session at a lovely place, I couldn't complain. Great that you managed to get out during the week and even better that you caught some nice Whiting, well done! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
Brilliant, your back, hope you had a nice rest, brilliant video, couple of cracking whiting, well done on another superb video, I watch these now with my 7yr old who loves them 👍🏻
Thank you Chris, great to hear that you watch the videos with your 7yr old! Lovely session in fairness, what a beautiful place and those Whiting were crackers! Have a good weekend, take care 👍
Thank you Matt, much appreciated. Yes I always enjoy having a chat with you and your Dad when in the shop, I look forward to it. Will hopefully see you soon, cheers bud 👍
Thanks bud, it was an enjoyable session in fairness. Lovely spot isn't it and I can't wait to go back for a second go. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Great video as always Gareth. Plenty of action on the rods and a couple of absolute monster Whiting. A great watch for me to start off the weekend, thanks for sharing your session with us.
Thank you Richie, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes the Whiting were massive, the camera didn't do them justice to be honest. What a stunning mark, I can't wait to go back. Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍
Thank you Mike, that's nice of you to say. Not being able to get out like you used to must be frustrating and so I'm glad that you enjoy the videos. Have a nice weekend 👍
They certainly were bud, the camera didn't do them justice if the truth be told. Lovely session, I couldn't complain. I'm good thanks, hope all is well with you. Cheers 👍
As a local here in brixham thank you for speaking about how bad these gangs can get I've not long been fishing however always wanted to get down to berry head but was unsure how safe it is now glad to see some lovley fish being produced down there great video hopefully see you on my fishing adventures in the future tight lines
Thank you Ollie. Such a shame that these people don't care about the place, it makes my blood boil. They tend to fish off the flat platform. The spot I fished was fine, there was no one else there and it was quite comfortable as the rocky surface is not too bad under foot. It was great to see those big Whiting and I had plenty of bites throughout the session, very enjoyable. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Thanks bud, it was a nice session in fairness. Stunning place and I'm definitely going to give it another go, lots of potential! Cheers as always, take it easy 👍
Thanks Roy. Yes me too, I love it down there. I actually popped over to Torquay for a wander and I hope to fish Hopes Nose someday, looks like a great mark. Have a good weekend 👍
You're welcome bud. Yes it's a beautiful mark, one the most picturesque I've fished at to be honest! It was beautiful when the wind dropped, was a pleasure being there. Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Thanks for putting me onto this spot Graham, what a place! I'm definitely going to give it another go. I enjoyed our chat in the shop last Sunday and I appreciated your generosity! See you soon 👍
Thanks Ed, much appreciated. Yes me too, I remember those days very well when we caught loads of big Whiting on the Severn, great days weren't they. Makes me a little sad that they no longer turn up. Have a good weekend 👍
Hi Gareth, I feel your anger with regard to people coming here and taking everything selfishly for granted. On a brighter note, I always look forward to your content as you deliver it so well and for me it's true to life angling. Thank you.
Thank you Nick, I appreciate that. A nice session at a nice place and I can't wait to go back! Yes it really makes my blood boil, it's happening all over the UK unfortunately, what a sad state of affairs. Cheers for watching, have a nice weekend 👍
Imfomative and really as always relaxing and enjoyable thank you Gareth. I’m currently down Fishguard for a few days fishing but not today Saturday it’s blowing a gale and lashing down with rain. Please keep the vids coming 👍
Thank you Michael, I appreciate that. Such a lovely spot and I can't wait to go back. I've never fished the Fishguard area, although it's on my to-do list. I hope the weather improves so that you can get a session in. Cheers 👍
Hi Gareth … Really enjoyed the video mate as always. Plenty of action on those old rod tips, fantastic. Sad to hear about the locals being bullied and intimidated unable to enjoy a peaceful days fishing on their local marks. Unfortunately that’s the world we live in today these people if you could call them people have no place in society. On a brighter note what a great day you had mate. Thanks Gareth you take care mate 👍🎣🎣
Thank you Stephen, much appreciated. Yes it was a lovely session in fairness, what a beautiful place Berry Head is. Such a shame that these individuals spoil things for the rest of us, they simply don't care and they never will! Hope all is good with you bud, have a nice weekend 👍
Thank you James. It certainly is a stunning mark, it was a pleasure being there and I can't wait to give it another go. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
Hello Gareth welcome back.as per usual a great watch . Don’t let the scum get you down you and most people and my self step in crap 💩 from time to time just laugh mate .always remember your better than that 😅😅😅😅😜👍
Thanks Carl, it was nice to be wetting a line again. Such a lovely spot and it's a shame that some people feel the need to destroy it. Makes me angry but as you say, laughing it off does make us feel better. I'll be giving this place another go, I can't wait! Cheers bud, have a good weekend 👍
I enjoyed watching you fish, I used to live in Brixham in the 80s, there's a mark called (hairy ledge) just up from where you're fishing, involves climing with ropes and overhangs to negotiate. When I was in my twenties I really didn't care and had no fear, I'm well into my 50s now and just the very thought of doing that again. Fills me with dread. Keep up the good work mate 🖐️
Thanks mate, I appreciate it. Ah right, the hairy ledge, now that does sound hairy ha! I know what you mean, I was the same when in my twenties, I took big risks when accessing certain marks but now the thought of it scares me! Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
well what can you say what a awesome session you had there Gareth mate and to have five species and a fish for your dinner the next day well done mate👍 and hope you have a fabulous weekend mate until the next time take it easy with Cadbury's caramel mate👍🙂👌🎣
Thank you Simon, appreciated as always. What a stunning mark, I'm hoping to give it another go before the end of the year, I really want to go back! Ah yes, I remember the Cadburys Caramel advert very well ha! You too bud, have a good one 👍
Thanks bud, much appreciated. I remember the Knap Whiting days very well, great times and it's a shame they don't turn up like they used to. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Thank you Jason. I don't think I'm one of the best but nice of you to say. What a cracking spot, I'm itching to get back down there, it's an exciting prospect! Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend ❤️
well done on the huss garath still watching mate i agree mate this is why ogmore beach is shut early by ten in the night too stop it spoils it for the fisherman
Shame isn't it Andrew. Why do certain people have to ruin it for the rest of us, it really winds me up! They always get away with it too, it's frustrating!
Thank you Leighton. Yes it's a cracker of a mark, certainly has lots of potential and I'll hopefully be back down there later this year. Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
Lovely spot and great catching. I think I mentioned before about the lowlife around our coast, at Oxwich and Port Eynon gangs of Chinese pickers taking everything down to the small crabs and small fish in rock pools. Reported but was told nothing can be done. Great video again.
Disgusting isn't it Jeff. They take everything without a care in the world and they know they're untouchable, whereas if it was me or you, we'd be punished for it. We need to get tougher in this country, there must be consequences for those who destroy. Cheers for watching, take care. 👍
Another awsome video again mate.well done on the fish looks a lovely mark to fish. Will Definitely have to give it a try soon and didnt even know it existed till i watched your video. Cheers mate, tight lines and take care.
Thank you Gareth, much appreciated. Yes it's a cracking mark and I'm definitely going back for a second go, it has so much potential and it's a lovely place, the bird life is very impressive, hopefully you'll get to give it a go. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
Same problem 8 years ago on Dover pier they had full supermarket trolleys, going to London after... 10 plus fishing 2 stacking.... Shameful. 🇫🇷🇫🇷🤔. Great content again. 😊😊
Disgusting isn't it Albert, absolutely disgraceful, these people don't care about anything. Thank you, it was a nice session at a beautiful place, I couldn't complain. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Hi Gareth, thanks for highlighting the issue at Berry Head, it’s one of my favourite places to fish and not a million miles from where I live, but the gang problem has been so bad there for a good number of years my wife (who often fishes with me) doesn’t want to go there anymore so I haven’t bothered for two years. Such a shame, we’ve had some great times float fishing there, and using lrf tactics for wrasse, great fun.
Such a shame isn't it Maurizio. A lot of the locals have also said the same, they no longer go there because they feel unsafe. When I was there, the three idiots that were catching hundreds of Mackerel off the platform cleared off as soon as it got dark...then I could relax and enjoy the session as there was no one else there. Beautiful place and I hope the council and police are able to patrol it on a more regular basis. Cheers bud 👍
Thank you John, it's certainly a stunning place and I can't wait to go back for another go, soon hopefully! Hope all is good your end, have a nice weekend 👍
I could watch your videos all night Gareth , its so therapeutic. I haven't seen whiting that size for many a year , looks like they might be surviving the nets . Anyway, I thought you were taking a well deserved break , but no , you can't leave it alone can you? 😂😂 .
Thank you Mick, I appreciate it, nice of you to say. Yes those Whiting were crackers, they reminded me of the old days! Haha you know me, the sea is always calling me, I can't help it 😂. Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Great video Gareth! Cracking whiting, reminds me of fishing for them in the 70’s. Used to take a few home an my mam used to make fish cakes with them, delicous!!!
Thanks Ian, it was an enjoyable session in fairness. Nice, you can't beat Whiting fishcakes, I bet you enjoyed those. Was great to see some good ones, been a while since I've caught them this big! Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Hi Gareth I fished berry head couple year ago we did catch and release never been back seem the disgraceful what the old quarry was left on Facebook very sad wouldn’t go near the place now fished Torquay pier no clowns there thankfully mate tight lines 🎣🎣🎣🎣
Hi Adam. Yes I don't blame you for not returning, it's such a shame what these idiots have done to the place, they simply don't care, zero respect. I haven't fished Torquay pier for years, I must get back down there for another go. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
Superb video Gareth. Really enjoyed it. Those whitting what a bonus, never seen whitting that big. Thank you for videoing your sessions for us. Can't wait for my next fix lol. Thanks again mate.
Thank you John, much appreciated. Yes those Whiting were Crackers weren't they, not seen them that big for years! Hope all is good with you bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Thank you Pete, it was an enjoyable session in fairness. Yes it's a bit of a walk back up the hill, thankfully I'm still able to do it but I know one day it will come to an end. Cracking mark and I can't wait to go back. Cheers for watching 👍
Your quite the philosopher Gaz i love your outlook and agree, we are all responsible for the environment. Great video as usual but can I see a christmas jumper or hat next time ha 😅
Haha you got no chance Anthony, I don't do Christmas jumpers, although I do love Christmas ha! Aye that's it, I guess I do have a philosophical mind, always been a deep thinker. Cheers as always, take it easy 👍
Great stuff again gareth top angler and therapist ,made my weekend ,1974 off jacksons bay white light on most high tides in late novemer _feb always the whiting were there in large numbers ,big like the ones on video regularly ,three hook rigs with rag or lug squid they took anything ! Three on ! Ty gareth mark cdf x
Thank you Mark, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Ah yes, I remember those big Whiting days down at Jackson's Bay back in the 80s when I was a kid, great times they were! Sad that we no longer get them in the numbers that we used to, I miss those days very much. Hope all is good with you, have a great weekend 👍
Ah Berry Head mate. I was on a sailing course back in the early 90s. Sailed round it from Dartmouth to Brixham on a big catamaran . Nice to see it landside. I have seen those gangs on other YTube videos, disgusting what they do and so threatening with it. Thanks mate , writing this as Storm Bert is getting going in Co Kilkenny. Be rough down Waterford way. Take care.
Nice Jeff, sounds like you have some good memories of being at Berry Head when doing the sailing course. Stunning place isn't it, one of the very best. They certainly are disgusting, they have zero respect and just trash venues, destroying the wildlife in the process, makes me so angry. Ah yes, I think storm Bert is hitting us around 2am, it's going to be a wet and windy one I think! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
Another great video Gareth.....i like seeing you catch a few species including congers. The place you went to looks beautiful and a nice to place to go in the summer.
Thanks Rob. Yes it's a stunning mark and hopefully you'll get to give it a go. Because I was filming I missed loads of fish and I dare say there were even more species out there. Lovely session in fairness, I really enjoyed it. Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
Once again a cracking watch Gareth, I agree with you about the minority of idiots spoiling it for the rest of us, seen it for myself whilst fishing in Scotland, it boils yer blood 🤬 and you can understand why farmers, landowners are stopping access to marks that have been fished for generations, it’s a sad state of affairs, Anyways a couple of nice tings there pal, and that first little bull Huss was perfection in miniature Great session pal Thanks for sharing it with us all 👍
Thank you Nigel, I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed the video. Yes it certainly does make your blood boil, I was getting angry whilst filming this one and I had to hold myself back, which was difficult! That aside it was a nice day out, such a stunning mark and I'll go back for another go later this winter, I'm very much looking forward to it. I missed loads of fish during this session, but then again I always do when filming, all good fun though. Hope all is good with you, take care 👍
Hi ga im from cardiff n sure i seen you in Torquay this last tuesday ! Keep up good content, used to get whiting n pouting with my father back in the day at Jacksons bay too
Hi Rich, it may well have been me as I did pop over to Torquay whilst at Brixham. Ah yes, I remember those Jackson's Bay days very well, I have many great memories as I'm sure you do! Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍
Great video Gareth, I was hoping that you would swing the camera around to shame those people. Apart from that keep them coming, that was a great watch. 👍
Thanks Jason, much appreciated. I did actually walk over to where they were with my camera as I was going to film them but they outnumbered me unfortunately and so I walked back to my spot. Made my blood boil to be honest. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
It certainly is Paul, absolutely stunning. Big shame that the idiots continue to destroy it, I hope karma catches up with them. Hope all is good with you bud, take care 👍
Hi Gareth yet another stunning video from you. I won't enter into a conversation about Brixham... because I believe that the best part of the place are the roads that lead away from the place. Anyway Gareth this is just my opinion about the place. Anyway Gareth as always keep yourself safe and well mate.
Thanks Wayne, appreciated as always. Stunning mark, can't believe that this was my first time fishing it, I'll definitely be going back. Just a shame that the minority spoil it for the rest of us, seems to be getting worse too. Hope all is good with you bud, have a nice weekend 👍
Lovely video Gareth, looks an absolutely lovely place , Shame about the "'"-"è'__'''("("(é'éé that turn up there, mabye the authorities could take some drastic action and make them walk the plank or the likes 😁😁😁, But looks like you had a nice relaxing time with some very nice fish caught and not the pressure of the previous video off the rocks, Have a good weekend and lets hope the flood gates don't open againsts Wales against South Africa, Have a good weekend , Cheers.
Thanks Philip, I loved this spot and I can't wait to go back for another go. Yes, such a shame that 'these people' are destroying the place, they literally don't care. The problem is that they know the authorities won't touch them, whereas if it was me or you, we'd be punished...that's the UK for you these days, gone to the dogs I'm afraid! Ha yes, the heavens are going to open tomorrow I think, forecast is looking terrible! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
Another top upload buddy, only ever caught one conger, that was at Sker (also had a small cod there in June a few years back!). Best ever whiting session was at Oxwich on the kayak in January a couple of years ago, it was relentless! Shame about those folks on the mackerel down there spoiling things for everyone else, I feel their pain. Hoping to get out next week (Storm Bert seems to have put paid to the weekend!), would be nice to catch some whiting like yours, ATB 👊
Thanks bud, appreciated as always. Such a lovely mark and I'm definitely going back for a second go, I can't wait if the truth be told! Sounds like you had a cracking session on the Whiting at Oxwich, I love to see Whiting as they bring back great memories. Hope you manage to get a session in next week...tight lines 👍💪
Another great video Gareth, another mark I’ve not fished in many of yr( fished on the old landing stage/dock area and bagged up some awesome Ballan wrasse. Shame the idiots there and Hope’s nose have spoilt it for the true anglers. Been some massive squid taken on Torquay pier so I bet a few would be taken on the mark you were at as well( maybe something to try in future. Good mixed bag and lovely marked Huss even though small, great sized whiting as well( something we’ve not seen in a good few yrs) remember getting them off the old car park at Penarth marina ( before barrage days) up to 3-3 1/2 lb on whole squid but those days may never come back but still hopeful they will.
Thank you Marc, it was an enjoyable day out in fairness, it's such a stunning mark. Big shame that the idiots continue to ruin the place, they know they'll get away with it hence why they won't stop. Was great to see those big Whiting, been a long time since I caught them that big. I miss those big Whiting days that you talk of, great times. I agree, I don't think these days will return up our way, not in our lifetime anyway. Hope all is good with you, take it easy 👍
Thanks Dave, I really enjoyed being at this Berry Head spot, such a great place. Hoping to give it another go at some point, I have to ha! Hope all is good with you bud, take it easy 👍
@dd14748 Yeah fine thanks bud. The river behind my house came to within 2ft of my garden but thankfully it's now dropping. Ah yes, I can imagine that it's rough at Berry Head with that strong wind!
Me an the lads camped in 75 , i caught 4 lb crab, a gang of geordie lads camped near us looking for a ruck till 6ft4 kieth came out of his tent. We all got on and had a laugh then on.not so soft southerners from the medway towns. Good times.
Haha very good Ken, 6ft 4 Keith wasn't to be messed with! Good days indeed, I bet you have some fantastic memories! Cheers for watching, take it easy 👍
Hi Gareth do you realise how much of an expert you are at catching conger an the bonus for me the misses enjoys your show so keep them coming fella can't get enough of them
Haha the congers follow me everywhere bud, they usually save the day in fairness! Thank you, I appreciate it, hopefully more to come soon with a bit of luck! Enjoy the weekend 👍
Another great video Gareth, stunning location. ( my trip between the bridges didn’t go to plan and we blanked video is up if you get some spare time, be good to get your view on it,) tight lines my friend
Thanks Craig, it certainly is a stunning mark, I can't wait to go back. Unlucky on the blank, although I wouldn't worry as I'm always blanking ha! I'll definitely watch your video, will look forward to that. Cheers bud 👍
@riversidewithme wanted to do redwick tomorrow but we got heavy rain nice tides for it too had two nice coddling off there last week one 3lb an one 7lb gutted its raining lol
amazing watch and plenty of fish too! might have to make my way down sometimes when i got the diesel lol, hell of a drive from cwmbran but it definitely looks worth it. it is a shame about the people that go down just to cause trouble theres no need of it. you'd think you're away from all that stuff being out fishing, but i guess people are just the same in all aspects. look after yourself mate, cant wait for the next 👍
Thank you Keiran, it was great to fish this mark for the first time and I'll definitely be going back before the end of the winter. Yes it's a bit of a drive and it's probably a good idea to stay overnight in some nearby accommodation or even sleep in the car. The good thing about this mark is that it can be fished 24/7. Yes these idiots have no shame, they don't care about anything and they always get away with it, really winds me up. Cheers as always bud, take care 👍
I hope everyone is well. As I mentioned in the video, there is currently a Public Spaces Protection Order in place at Berry Head and the link below provides more information. Thank you for watching, take care;

Thankfully they sorted it now and is reopened to ppl again👍
Think they have the same problem on hopes nose in Torquay 😡
as someone who has long enjoyed watching you on your travels around our beautiful shores, and who ,although now disabled, still enjoys fishing, I fully agree and support your comments regarding the shameful state of our fisheries management!
Great one Gareth. I could see you really enjoyed that session. Lovely Whiting.
Thanks Ed, it was a nice session at a stunning mark. Great to see the big Whiting, they reminded me of the old days. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Thanks for another cracking video Gareth, I thoroughly enjoyed it mate!
Thank you Steve, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll definitely be giving this mark another go later in the winter. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
Another grate video keep them coming Gareth all the best
Thank you Philip, much appreciated. Hopefully more to come soon with a bit of luck. Cheers 👍
oh my friend nice to see you next where I leave. Great episode!
Thanks bud, lovely place isn't it. I'll be going back for a second go, I can't wait for that! Cheers as always, take care 👍
Take care 👍
Nice one Gareth mate , what a great mark , be a good one in the summer ! appreciated as always 🎣👍🏼👍🏼
Paul
Thank you Paul. Yes I agree, the summer should produce some very good fishing at this place, many different species in that deep water! Cheers as always, take care 👍
great video again Gareth like i always say the only one that’s worth watching on youtube 👍👍
Thank you Luke, nice of you to say. This is a cracking mark and I'm definitely going back before the end of the winter.
I'll always pick up other people's rubbish. Especially if it's discarded fishing line
@Paul-ql2ce Thanks for doing that Paul, us fellow anglers apprentice it. I do the same, I always have a spare carrier bag in my seat box.
the persons that do these things are just pig ignorant idiots that just do not give a toss.
Another really enjoyable watch. Thanks for taking us fishing again. 👍
You're welcome Rusty, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you Gareth for another wonderful video. 🎉
You're welcome Tim, glad you enjoyed it. Have a good weekend 👍

Hi Gareth, didn't expect to see a video this week, what a session! Lovely place, went there years ago. Great filming as usual, have a great weekend. ❤
Thank you Patricia, it was nice to spend some time down in Brixham, one of my favourite places. Beautiful mark and I'm hoping to go back later this year, that would be good! Hope you're well, have a great weekend 👍
Great video Gareth. Some crazy Whiting there mate. Really good session with different species. Great place Brixham 👌
Mate.. I love your passion & your emotions always show.. great content as always & look forward to your trips out back home to local marks 👌 🎣
Fished there and that area many moons ago, place is a real gem
Certainly is bud, absolutely stunning.
Great video as usual Gareth. Always good to catch up with you when you pop in the shop mate. Take care bud 👌
Thank you Matt, much appreciated. Yes I always enjoy having a chat with you and your Dad when in the shop, I look forward to it. Will hopefully see you soon, cheers bud 👍
A cracking session mate in one of my favourite places.. Nice!
Thanks bud, it was an enjoyable session in fairness. Lovely spot isn't it and I can't wait to go back for a second go. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
@@riversidewithme Keep'em coming
Great video as always Gareth.
Plenty of action on the rods and a couple of absolute monster Whiting.
A great watch for me to start off the weekend, thanks for sharing your session with us.
Thank you Richie, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes the Whiting were massive, the camera didn't do them justice to be honest. What a stunning mark, I can't wait to go back. Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍
Some cracking whiting, Well done - L C
Thanks bud, it was great to see the jumbo Whiting, made my day. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
I can't get out an about like I used to so love your videos your my champion thank you
Thank you Mike, that's nice of you to say. Not being able to get out like you used to must be frustrating and so I'm glad that you enjoy the videos. Have a nice weekend 👍
Those were cracking whiting fair play 👌 don’t see many like that anymore , well done and another great video , hope your well 😁
They certainly were bud, the camera didn't do them justice if the truth be told. Lovely session, I couldn't complain. I'm good thanks, hope all is well with you. Cheers 👍
Fishing perfect with those large whiting , great video as is the norm . Thanks mate ...
Thanks Andy, those Whiting were huge, the camera didn't do them justice to be honest! Cheers as always, enjoy the weekend 👍
Cracking session m8, the mark looked like a pleasure to fish with great scenery 👌
Thanks bud, it was a nice session in fairness. Stunning place and I'm definitely going to give it another go, lots of potential! Cheers as always, take it easy 👍
Nice .. Good looking spot that , Welldone..
Thanks bud, much appreciated. Yes it's a great mark and I can't wait to go back. Cheers 👍
seeing you happy makes me and the family happy Ga
Thanks John, I'm pleased to hear that. Lovely session at a lovely place, I couldn't grumble. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
Nice session there Gareth I love it down brixham I stay in Torquay
Thanks Roy. Yes me too, I love it down there. I actually popped over to Torquay for a wander and I hope to fish Hopes Nose someday, looks like a great mark. Have a good weekend 👍
Thank you Gareth, lovely fishing mark and a great day's fishing, amazing weather as well considering the time of year. Tight lines buddy.
You're welcome bud. Yes it's a beautiful mark, one the most picturesque I've fished at to be honest! It was beautiful when the wind dropped, was a pleasure being there. Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Thx again Gareth nicely presented and good fishing. Well done
Thank you Neil, it was an enjoyable session in fairness, I couldn't complain. Enjoy the weekend 👍
Thank you Gareth sometimes life stands still when fishing it was wonderful, i look forward to your next adventure 😊
You're welcome Richard, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Lovely spot and I can't wait to go back for another go. Thank you for watching, take care 👍
Hi Gareth nice video , enjoy will see you down there my fav. Spot
Thanks for putting me onto this spot Graham, what a place! I'm definitely going to give it another go. I enjoyed our chat in the shop last Sunday and I appreciated your generosity! See you soon 👍
Great video, lovely whiting, wish we still got a few of them in the severn, by far my favourite eating fish.
Well done. Great sport and video. Let's hope the yobbos don't ruin it for all of us.
Thanks Matt, appreciated as always. Yes let's hope so, they need to be punished for their actions, simple as that. Take care 👍
Cheers 👍
Another winner gareth plenty of bites that kept you busy thanks
Thanks Andy, it was an enjoyable session at a beautiful place, wish I was still there. Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
Great video, as always, Gareth. What a sad state of affairs! Cheers and tight lines.
Certainly is a sad state of affairs Nick, makes my blood boil. Thanks bud, I appreciate your continued support...take care 👍
Well done Gareth, you’re fishing a lovely part of the world. And catching fish,Dose it get any better than that?👏
Thank you James. It certainly is a stunning mark, it was a pleasure being there and I can't wait to give it another go. Cheers for watching, enjoy the weekend 👍
Nice to see you catching fish in a spot I used to fish many years ago which is not far from where I live. I hope you have a great weekend mate.
Lovely spot isn't it bud, one of the most picturesque I've fished. You have a good one too and take care...cheers 👍
Another great watch..Gareth Thamk you
You're welcome Norman, thank you. A lovely mark and I shall be returning. Cheers 👍
Another great video. The knap in Barry used to be great for large whitingin the winter. I dought its the same these days. Cheers .
Thanks bud, much appreciated. I remember the Knap Whiting days very well, great times and it's a shame they don't turn up like they used to. Cheers for watching, take care 👍
nice size whiting up there garath and thous eels follow you every where mate lol
Haha the Congers stick to me like glue. Those Whiting were massive, the camera didn't do them justice to be honest, great to see
Another super video yer Gareth, you truly are one of the best angling presenters on UA-cam sharing your craft and devotion to sea angling.
Thank you Jason. I don't think I'm one of the best but nice of you to say. What a cracking spot, I'm itching to get back down there, it's an exciting prospect! Cheers bud, enjoy the weekend ❤️
Lovely video Gar 🐟👏👍
Cheers Gary, appreciated as always bud. Take it easy 👍
well done on the huss garath still watching mate i agree mate this is why ogmore beach is shut early by ten in the night too stop it spoils it for the fisherman
Shame isn't it Andrew. Why do certain people have to ruin it for the rest of us, it really winds me up! They always get away with it too, it's frustrating!
Gareth that was a great watch looks a lovely mark 👌👍
Cheers bud, take it easy 👍
pleanty of spices tonight garath mate
Cracking spot Andrew, I'm definitely going back for a second go!
5 spices mate well done garath so far
Thanks Andrew, always nice to see a good variety of species isn't it
Hi Gareth, thanks for highlighting the issue at Berry Head, it’s one of my favourite places to fish and not a million miles from where I live, but the gang problem has been so bad there for a good number of years my wife (who often fishes with me) doesn’t want to go there anymore so I haven’t bothered for two years.
Gorgeous place bud, fabulous whiting, great video thank you very much, enjoy your time there. God bless you and your family
Cheers for watching, take care 👍
cracking whiting mate
Hope all is good with you bud, enjoy the weekend 👍
another great watch as alwayes gareth look forward to them every week mate keep the vidios coming mate
Cheers Andrew, I appreciate your long-term support mate, you've been there from the start, fair play to you.
nice one gareth, allways wanted to fish there but the walk would be to much ,some cracking fish to be caught from reports ive heard.
Working till 16h Saturday, can't wait to watch.. Take care family... ❤️🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Good luck with the work Albert, make sure you have some rest time too! Cheers as always 👍🇨🇵

Lovely place isn't it Brian, your sister made a good choice! Hope all is well in New Zealand, cheers mate 👍
@riversidewithme you take it easy too mate

Once again a cracking watch Gareth,
I agree with you about the minority of idiots spoiling it for the rest of us, seen it for myself whilst fishing in Scotland, it boils yer blood 🤬 and you can understand why farmers, landowners are stopping access to marks that have been fished for generations, it’s a sad state of affairs,
Anyways a couple of nice tings there pal, and that first little bull Huss was perfection in miniature
Great session pal
Thanks for sharing it with us all 👍
Thank you Nigel, I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed the video.
Another great video Gareth take care and have a great Christmas and a happy new year and plenty of them
Thank you John, I appreciate that bud, nice of you to say. Same to you, hope you have a good one, enjoy 👍

Nice spot that Gareth. Sad to hear there are toe rags abusing the area. Hope you had a good break down there, lovely part of the world.
Another great video it's lovely having you down here with us it makes my week
Thanks Dave, I really enjoyed being at this Berry Head spot, such a great place. Hoping to give it another go at some point, I have to ha! Hope all is good with you bud, take it easy 👍
We're going to have to make you an honorary Brixham boy
@@dd14748Haha thanks Dave. I do class Brixham as my second home, I just love the place.
Hope all is well with you with these floods it's bloody rough off berry head
Nice to see you back down in Devon hope you had a good time, are there anymore Brixham sessions to come ?
Thanks Jay, I love Brixham. Hoping to be back down there either December or January. Cheers bud 👍

@@gavinrogers4358Well done on the Cod, lovely fish by the sound of it! Yes the weather is looking bad for this weekend, always the way isn't it ha!
Well done Gareth spot on as usual pure therapy you are so right👍
Thanks Kev, it was a nice day out in fairness, such a stunning place. I'll be going back later this winter! Cheers for watching, take care 👍
amazing watch and plenty of fish too! might have to make my way down sometimes when i got the diesel lol, hell of a drive from cwmbran but it definitely looks worth it. it is a shame about the people that go down just to cause trouble theres no need of it. you'd think you're away from all that stuff being out fishing, but i guess people are just the same in all aspects. look after yourself mate, cant wait for the next 👍
Cheers as always bud, take care 👍
nice one
Cheers bud. Stunning place, I'll be back down there soon. Take it easy 👍
