Rather than give us the story through some wise elder or a history book of absolute canon, we have to gather the pieces from various, conflicting sources. This makes the world feel so much more alive, interesting and believable. Even if they are the roughest looking elves ever or giant lizards or cartoon vikings/romans.

This series.....it's amazing. Second time watching this. Initially watched it in pieces when released, now the grand culmination. Gosh. I cannot express how wonderfully made and presented this is. Stupendous.
People seem to forget that 4/5 mainline games take place in almost direct series of each other and in almost all of them you are hinted at or states as being an agent of Uriel Septim
I love this video so much, I could just watch/listen to it on repeat. Everything about it is absolutely perfect, one of my favorite videos of all time. If only it was 10 hours long! 😂
1:12:53 I think you mean the White-Gold Tower in Cyrodiil, not High Rock. Also, there are a couple of pronunciation mistakes. Great video nonetheless! With almost a 2 hour long video, a few mistakes will always slip through the cracks. Keep up the great work!
@@viderevero1338 Yeah, probably. Still, when they did the Great War video, they mentioned the "Imperial Palace was burned, the White-Gold Temple was looted, and all manner of atrocities were committed by the vengeful Elves on the innocent populous" So I mean, they HAVE to know which tower they were looting, no?
"A loyal Imperial citizen would know that. Perhaps there's something you wish to confess ?" (Remains silent) (Silent w/a very large anticipatory sword waving in the air)
This was an amazing, succinct video and I love your voice! I felt like I was attending a lecture from a scholar in Cyrodil lol. The background music was also on point
5:53 or was it Akatosh? There are some theories it was actually Lorkhan who contacted her but in order not to ruin relations with certain groups (elves) she lied about it being Akatosh to keep them happy
8:15 Humans.... Just humans, man. They will mate with anything. ABSOLUTLY! ANYTHING! This is why fantasy (and SF) have so many half-humans. Only dragons are just as thirsty.
Lol, may a throw a wrench in the works. It was the Elves that mated with the humans. Not the other way around, lol. The Elves will mate with anyone and anything in this universe. Side note Vivec, after becoming a god, went to Yokuda and had children with Yokudans. Not sure if he impregnated or got impregnated or both, but his kids are why Yokuda got sank. This is due to the king killing him with a special sword strike, because Vivec's kids went out of control and Vivec wouldn't stop them. So not only the Altmer, but also the Chimer (and whatever the other half of Vivec is, can't remember at the moment) were spreading their seed around. Elves, they can't keep it in their pants, the Bosmer just embraced it as a culture.
3:16 Ayleids were called Heartland High Elves. Wild Elves is the name of the remnants of their race who fled across Tamriel after the Alessian Slave Rebellion. Besides that great video.
Cool vid, some notes to add: while argonians seceded and khajit bowed to thalmor, orcs and dark elves were both still part of the empire. The empire intervened a bit when orsinium was sacked by some bretons and redguards, and skyrim took in a ton of dunmer refugees as well as granted them solstheim. The thalmor helped incite argonian invasions of morrowind, so there's 0 chance of dunmer ever supporting thalmor or tolerating further rise, even if they have strained relations with humans
What do a rebel Jarl, one of his subordinates, a horse thief and a random person illegally crossing the boarder have in common? All fair game for the headsman.
One of the reasons I tend to side with the StormCloaks. The Redguards already left, so did the Argonians (if they ever really were part of the Empire), The Khajiit after that Moon fiasco (Either the elves lied or they caused the moons to disappear too) joined the Thalmor cause... The Empire has already lost. Nords are better off fighting for Skyrim than spread out into other realms where they don't have the kind of familiarity with the environment they have in Skyrim. So there's East-Skyrim on Storm-cloak side, West-Skyrim on Empire-side and one neutral Jarldom in the middle. You, the Dragonborn, decide which side wins; you can become Thane in all nine realms, slay or dominate the Dark Brotherhood; become the Leader of the mages, warriors and thieves... Never mind if they call their professional society a guild or not. And just how do they manage to put it into the history books later and have ALL your choices in the game be true? (Well, DB is likely a matter of rumors, and you kill Astrid in either path anyway.) But how could they not have clear record about which side of the Civil War won? Will they be called DragonBornside vs. others or something?
Hands down the epitome of geekiness. Best internet video of 2023. Congrats on making a video that encompasses everything nostalgic of the best parts of nerdom. ❤️10/10
I really don't get how anyone can be an empire supporter, generally speaking. Firstly, people conflate the old Septim empire with the current Mede empire as if they're exactly the same, just continuation. But, they're fundamentally different empire because 1) No dragonborn emperor & 2) they banned the worship of Talos. Stormcloaks are 100% in their rights to demand independence since they literally religiously cannot allow the banning of Talos, it's the crux of their culture.@@DragonRoost1
@@calcifiedinnerbaldurstorm cloaks are morons. They need the help of the Dragonborn to win the war what’re they gonna do when the elves come back? The only hope for mankind to not get completely decimated is to be strong together. It’s infinitely better to temporarily ban Talos worship then to have no one left to worship him in the future because the elves annihilate most of the men on the continent. It’s also entirely dependent on the actions of the dragon born. I however imagine the only way for human kind to endure long term as anything but full stop slaves is for them to come together as a United empire and overcome the elves in some fashion. Divided they absolutely stand no chance and to think otherwise is abit delusional.
It's widely known that the An-Xileel sacked the former capital of Mournhold and even ventured as far as Telvanni lands before being pushed back by the combined efforts of Redoran and Telvanni forces. It's almost a certainty they held southern Deshaan and everything south of Vvardenfell. They pretty much drove Dres and Hlaalu into extinction as those were the houses occupying these lands, and House indoril was reduced to a mere caste of priests as stated in the Reclamations. Blacklight is now the capital also, however Redoran managed to reclaim almost all of that land and now only have clashes near the southern border.
Absolutely loved this series! ❤️🔥 Will you ever do a video with the Orsimer featured in it? You kind of left them out talking about the birth of each Elven race and the Redguard settlement of Hammerfell (they, Goblins, and native Nedes were the “natives” that they fought).
You know the dumbest part of the Great War is the lack of naval battles. The entire time Cyrodiil was under attack, the Emperor could have sent ships from the imperial city, or other provinces, to lay siege to the Summerset Isles. Cut the head of the snake, and the body shall fall and all that, which is the philosophy the Thalmor took when attacking the capital.
Would love to see a video of Wolf Queen Potema's Rebellion and also Dread King of Valenwoods Rebellion. Amazing work on all of the videos made on this channel!
They should do a video of the in game book Mixed Unit Tactics. It's like a perfect video for their style explaining the battle and tactics from the pov of an imperial at the nearby garrison.
If J.R.R. Tolkien wrote the most detailed fiction novel series of all time, then I'd say the creators of the Elder Scrolls wrote the most detailed video game lore of all time. Like sit here and watch this and consider that the first half of this is mostly just background flavor text found in books in the games, and then the second half of the video is pretty much all of the events that take place in the actual games. You would be hard pressed to find too many other video games with that level of deepness. I mean you got a few in the ballpark - Assassin's Creed, Halo, maybe a handful of other fairly deep and complex RPG worlds that have also existed for decades, but Elder Scrolls still dwarfs many of those universes in terms of actual fully detailed lengthy history and actual detailed descriptions of the various tribes and peoples that inhabited the areas around Tamriel. And ALL of that doesn't even include the spice on top which is that many characters in the "history" of Tamriel are authors themselves and also penned their own deep fictions. So you have a layer of complex fiction that you can read in these games, and come back out of those books and you find yourself still in a fictional world with fictional history, and then come back out of that when you're done playing into the real world. Now THAT is deep lol.
Lol too bad the games hardly ever do the lore justice, the level of detail and scale that would be needed is astronomical. The only things I see that come close are fan mods like Beyond Skyrim or Tamriel rebuilt.
Wondering, if you will cover in the future videos, the lore of "Dark Crystal" in regards to the world of Thra. You have been doing a fine job lately with your videos.

I have forgotten this time-honoured tradition, but now... press F for my friends
Great video, very nice maps and graphics and lots of details I still didn't know!
I cannot believe how much effort has been put into this video, thank you so so much for making this guys!
Please keep working on these Elder Scrolls videos! UA-cam isn't properly recommending/promoting these videos. I should have been made aware of this series month's ago. They're great! Awesome work!
how tf did i not know about wizards and warriors, and they still got my boy offyD from kings and generals here too! i love it.
This series.....it's amazing. Second time watching this. Initially watched it in pieces when released, now the grand culmination. Gosh. I cannot express how wonderfully made and presented this is. Stupendous.
As a newbie to Elder Scrolls lore, a massive compilation like this is much appreciated.
Is anybody else wishing there was an Elder Scrolls total war game?! Like it would be amazing!
People seem to forget that 4/5 mainline games take place in almost direct series of each other and in almost all of them you are hinted at or states as being an agent of Uriel Septim
We are the will of the gods
I love this video so much, I could just watch/listen to it on repeat. Everything about it is absolutely perfect, one of my favorite videos of all time. If only it was 10 hours long! 😂
The narration and the animation in these videos is so good, really appreciate this channel.
Thank you.
I really like the history reference from our universe, just like the carthage one.
Amazing how time and time again the unnamed hero is either in prison or about to have their head removed...
I love those long videos thanks for your work!
I thought they weren't going to make another video on this lore...
But...
I am glad they did!
They didn't make another video they just combined them all into one.
@@facepunchgaming4134 sadly true
@@facepunchgaming4134
I realized that later...
At least, better than nothing... 🤔
Just hearing him tell the history of the elder scrolls series blows my mind because he sounds like the story teller of the lore
This deserves many many more views, thank you so much!
Surprisingly, they've been making that mistake consistently. Not sure if they know about the Adamantine Tower...
@@thalmoragent9344 Might be getting them mixed up.
@@viderevero1338
Yeah, probably. Still, when they did the Great War video, they mentioned the "Imperial Palace was burned, the White-Gold Temple was looted, and all manner of atrocities were committed by the vengeful Elves on the innocent populous"
So I mean, they HAVE to know which tower they were looting, no?
"A loyal Imperial citizen would know that. Perhaps there's something you wish to confess ?" (Remains silent)
(Silent w/a very large anticipatory sword waving in the air)
I just realized this channel does elderscrolls lemme grab my popcorn
Like a General from a state called Carthage in another Universe!!! Second Punic War! Love it!!! 😅😅😅😅😅😅
This is one of my favorite movies 💖
This was an amazing, succinct video and I love your voice! I felt like I was attending a lecture from a scholar in Cyrodil lol. The background music was also on point
For a Elder scrolls video I've got to say it's like watching epic history all over again
5:53 or was it Akatosh? There are some theories it was actually Lorkhan who contacted her but in order not to ruin relations with certain groups (elves) she lied about it being Akatosh to keep them happy
This is fantastic, thank you so much, I love the Elder Scrolls lore and you have done a great jobs creating this video!
Good quality, accurate, long time fan. Only complaint is the pronunciation of some words/names like Chimer
"In his efforts to make love to a magic mountain" bro 😂
Honestly great video. It is so good it made me buy Skyrim!
This is the video I’ve always wanted! Thank you!
Watching this makes you forget Tamriel isn’t a real place.. well done indeed
1:12:55 White Gold Tower is in the Imperial City, not High Rock
This makes the wait for Elder Kings 2 so much more painful
3:16 Ayleids were called Heartland High Elves. Wild Elves is the name of the remnants of their race who fled across Tamriel after the Alessian Slave Rebellion.
Besides that great video.
Love these videos!
Oblivion gate opens and everyone runs away of fright, the bipedal reptiles? Charge headlong into the gates! I've always liked playing em!
I really enjoyed this 😅 kept coming back to it. It's taken 3x days to get through though. Just my situation through the week.
AWESOME!!!!!! Great video, appreciate your work! "subbed" 🍻
It's very nice to hear Chimer pronounced correctly.
Excellent presentation. Tyvm W&W
You know, I've been watching Kings and Generals stuff at random for a while. Had no idea this channel existed.
Time to consume content.
The video is top quality, and amazing. The pronunciations could use some work though
Great video. Unlike other videos were I can just listen too. Ur made something I can actually watch n be interested in
Ur? Dagoth Ur? Progenitor of the Sixth House? Lord of Dreams? By Azura!
I can't wait for the next Elder Scrolls game!
You somehow managed to mispronounce almost every single name in this video. Nevertheless, good video! Very impressed with the visuals.
Yes this will go nicely in my work playlist. Thank you!
I enjoyed this storytelling quite a bit, so you've got a new subscriber!!
I recognize this voice. You’re the Kings and Generals guy right? Mind 💥. Subscreebed
Love it absolutely fantastic
Pure entertainment and lore I love this! 🙌
man this was good
Just found this channel. I'm going to be up all night.
And now for all 3 Aldmeri Dominions, in one video. 👍🏾🤷🏿
Fantastic! Fi ally I understand the elder scrolls.
I listened to this at work
Love it
Hands down the epitome of geekiness. Best internet video of 2023. Congrats on making a video that encompasses everything nostalgic of the best parts of nerdom. ❤️10/10
Ulfric didn't "assassinate" Toryg. He beat him in a duel.
Exactly. That's a bit of a glaring misinformation error there stating Toryg died in any other way then a duel.
Blacklight is now the capital also, however Redoran managed to reclaim almost all of that land and now only have clashes near the southern border.
i love the elder scrolls videos. i hope the series continues
Absolutely loved this series! ❤️🔥 Will you ever do a video with the Orsimer featured in it? You kind of left them out talking about the birth of each Elven race and the Redguard settlement of Hammerfell (they, Goblins, and native Nedes were the “natives” that they fought).
5:41 owned
Awesome animation
Thank you.
very cool video, makes me want to play morrowind, oblivion but I am playing Skyrim now which I'm collecting all the books I find.
You know the dumbest part of the Great War is the lack of naval battles. The entire time Cyrodiil was under attack, the Emperor could have sent ships from the imperial city, or other provinces, to lay siege to the Summerset Isles. Cut the head of the snake, and the body shall fall and all that, which is the philosophy the Thalmor took when attacking the capital.
....Yeah, the problem is that a naval battle overwhelmingly favors the Dominion, not the Empire.
You realise the Dominion is known for its *superior* navy, right?
So Good. Thanks.
Would love to see a video of Wolf Queen Potema's Rebellion and also Dread King of Valenwoods Rebellion. Amazing work on all of the videos made on this channel!
SeptiMania is gonna run Wild on the Snakemen!
Lol minor typo on the Akavir map but SeptiMania and Uriel MachoMan Septum love the support Brother!
Whats the song at 3:00 I cant find it anywhere and i forgot which game it was in
I was shock how deep the lore is
15:30 "Over the alps, perhaps!"
Wow, what an amazing retelling of the Elder Scroll world's history.
They should do a video of the in game book Mixed Unit Tactics. It's like a perfect video for their style explaining the battle and tactics from the pov of an imperial at the nearby garrison.
Wait! I thought you said the previous episode on TES was going to be the final installment!? O.o
Gods be praised it was not so! Thank you! :D
@@domusavires19 yeah technical limitations are always going to get in the way unfortunately. Still though the sheer depth of the lore is bewildering
As much as I like ES, I'd say forgotten realms setting has more detailed lore.
Wondering, if you will cover in the future videos, the lore of "Dark Crystal" in regards to the world of Thra.
You have been doing a fine job lately with your videos.
Will you be covering the battles of non-western works? Such as the Fourth Shinobi World War from Naruto, or the Raid on Onigashima from One Piece.
Great video about the lore of elder scrolls. Perhaps you can also do one for the book "The Infernal City", story which happens after the Oblivion Crisis. That could be cool
