6:10 The most dangerous food in the world
8:53 Check out this video on the healthiest foods!
Today, we're going to talk about the most dangerous food you can eat and what makes it so dangerous.
Factors that make this the worst food in the world for your health:
    1. It combines starch and fat under high heat
    • This creates advanced glycation end products, which affect your eyes, brain, heart, and kidneys.
    2. Hydrogenated oils
    • This contains trans fats, which affect your cells, harden your arteries, and may increase your risk for cancer.
    3. Acrylamide
    • This is a neurotoxin that has been linked to Alzheimer's.
    4. Sugar
    • Sugar can lead to many different health problems. This food may contain sugar, beet sugar, dextrose, or maltodextrin. All of these types of sugars are very dangerous.
    5. Glyphosate
    • I believe glyphosate can potentially alter a person's microbiome and may lead to negative health effects.
    6. Seed oils
    • These oils are very inflammatory.
    7. Ketchup
    • Ketchup contains high fructose corn syrup, which can lead to fatty liver and insulin resistance. It also has corn syrup, modified corn starch (MSG), and soy oil.
You probably guessed it-the most dangerous food in the world for your health is French fries.

I can totally relate to this video!
I was born and raised Italy 🇮🇹 on fresh and REALLY healthy food (only oil we used was the best olive oil!), we had chickens and fresh eggs daily and never even heard (or needed!) of vitamins and supplements … my family made a point in buying everything fresh every day … the Mediterranean diet, they called it.
When I came to the US and I saw the food here, I cried 😢😢😢 - literally! …and I couldn’t possibly understand why people ate all this garbage.
    It was harsh.
My mother is 88 now, she still keeps the same diet and has no physical problems whatsoever: healthy as a kid, no medications of any kind. Zero.
USA 🇺🇸 might be a free country… but the food is a disgrace 😱

Agree, 100%... Half my family still lives in Italy. Its amazing the difference, but I think it also has to do with the food being so fresh. Most being from farm to table, no pesticides, and made in the household. Sardegna, Italy is one of the places considered blue zone. Blue zone is geographic areas in which people have low rates of chronic disease and live longer than anywhere else. The study describes the common lifestyle features of people in Blue Zones, including why they live longer.

Everyone who worked there swore it was non toxic and harmless, and you did not even need to wear gloves when we were making this product. It did have "sugar" in it though which would make your hands sticky, therefore 'you may want to wear gloves' because of that. So I was the only one wearing any PPE, because I did not believe them.
    Thank you Dr Berg!!

23 years ago, my fit and seemingly healthy 52 yr old brother had a heart attack. His doctor told him the worst food anyone could ever eat was french fries and told him it was a contributing factor to his heart attack. My brother, of course, spread the word to the rest of the family. I wish I could say I stopped eating french fries then and there but in reality, I didn't stop eating them until I started Keto 4 years ago.
I'd known for 19 years that french fries are the worst food to consume, but still it didn't sink in until Keto and I immediately noticed how much healthier I felt without potatoes, sugar and wheat. I should have listened to my brother who is off french fries and very healthy right now at 75.

But the Doc is dead right on deep fried food ie fries and chips, cooked in tired highly refined oils full of - omega 6, hydrogenated, transfats and acrylamide. Deadly if eaten any more than rarely or never. The worst thing you can do is eat fries or chips that have been sitting around all day in a heat cabinet as the acrylamide content will be VERY HIGH. If you are going to indulge yourself make sure they are freshly cooked and haven't been sitting around waiting for a victim.

Just wanted to add that the ketchup in Europe (some parts of it anyway) is much more traditional. You'll find sugar not HFCS, and you'll often just find tomatoes and herbs/spices, some salt. Especially the slightly more health-oriented ketchup varieties (common in supermarkets from big brands like heinz) which offer 50% reduction in sugar are, in my humble opinion, net contributors to health due to the insane amount of lycopene and other antioxidants. I don't disagree with your analysis of regular ketchup but it's important to note that not all ketchups are created equal :)

Yup, agree. The thought of the fryer heating and reheating that oil several times a day is frightening enough. Then add the "floaties", errant chips of potatoes that sit in that oil until burnt to a charcoal like consistency. Even still, some restaurants will use the same oil to fry fish sticks or battered shrimp, calamari, hot dog on a stick (aka corn dogs), deep fried Mars bars. Fried flour in hydrogenated vegetable oil of unknown origin. Yuk.

Homemade fries are the best. And ketchup without additives. Yes you can get this. Or make your own ketchup. I make my own fries. Potatoes soak them in ice water for 30 minutes. Cut into wedges or whatever size you want. Drizzle with olive oil, season with Himalayan Rock salt and pepper. Bake at 450 in the oven and yum. Way better than fast food fries. Also you can do the same with sweet potatoes. Yum yum yum.

Very interesting. 30 years ago whenever I went on holiday I would always get sick - severe migraine headaches and vomiting. It took me awhile to find out why this was happening. The reason was that my body could not cope with the fried food I was eating such as a full English breakfast and a cream cake later on, occasional fries etc. Incredibly as soon as I cut out bacon, fried bread, sausages, cream cakes and fries etc the migraine headaches stopped!

Thank you for this informative video. Our kids love the fries and ketchup and though I focus on keeping them away from processed foods and sugary treats they eat fries with their meal now and then. I prefer to cook homemade organic potatoes cooked in butter or ghee but even that does not take away the issue of AGEs/acrylamides. Its going to be tough to avoid this when eating out also but going to be more mindful of this!

  • @offgrid-goo-roo

    You're spot on Dr Berg.
Reality, we should not cook most things above 260°F.
Acrylamides are carcinogens and form above 260°.
Baked bread, french fries, hash browns, should be all light yellow. If you "brown" these foods, you have cooked them above 260°. Some chefs are aware of acrylamides. but changing the cooking habits and public perception is a challenge.
Thank you for your deep research!

Same thing happened to me. I was following Dr Berg etal in 2018-2019 and lost 4 dress sizes and felt great. Covid hit and I ended up gaining 40 lbs. We bought a house end of 2020 and fixed it up. I realized the beginning of Spring this year I had no more excuses. I went COLD TURKEY on everything bad I was previously eating. Ended up being getting rid of the toxic crap in my stomach for 2 weeks. Finally got back on track with good whole foods and I think I have lost more weight this go around faster and I've had to buy new clothes this past month. I'm doing bodyweight exercises 2x a day this time instead also. I'll find out how much for sure in October at my dr appointment. Re-evaluate what you are eating with a food diary. I write down everything I eat daily and go over it weekly. You will be surprised what you are still putting in your mouth.
