Thank you for sharing!! Not sure how I missed this video, as I have notifications for when you put out videos!!! Did you ever do a video on breeding black neon tetras? I know you did raising fry but I never seen one on breeding black neon tetras!! Good Job! You are posting breeding videos of species that no one else on youtube ever posted. That's awesome!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately, I haven't done a video specifically on breeding black neon tetras, but it's definitely something I'll consider in the future.
Dear Bo: My best efforts, to identify this, particular, Hyphessobrycon species lead me to believe it is Hyphessobrycon melanostichos. Hyphessobrycon species tend to be easily bred. I discovered this, quite by accident, with Hyphessobrycon columbianus. Once my Madagascar rainbowfish (Bedotia geayi) is done, with my, quarantine tank, I hope use said aquarium, to breed black neon tetra (Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi). Thank you for sharing this, charming video. Congratulations, on your success, breeding this, lovely species. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
Hi Brinegar, Yes, I do agree that Hyphessobrycon species are relatively easy to breed. Just like their close relative, the black neon tetra, they seem to be very hardy fish to keep and are not shy little fish. My fry are about 2 weeks old now and I can see they look so much like the black neons when they were little fry. I wish you good luck with your black neon tetra breeding project. Thank you for your continued support.
Thanks for sharing this awesome journey sure was exciting to see the fry…. good luck and continued success with breeding more of them.

this fish has never been known as the blue ribbon since the Hyphessobrycon sp. blue ribbon is a totally different looking one.
OK, thanks for your correction.
Great video
