Breeding Neon Tetra:Tips, Challenges, and Lessons Learned

- Hello, I have bred Neon Tetras again. Originally, I wanted to try breeding other tetras. However, due to the failure last time, I realized that breeding Neon Tetras, especially in large quantities, still makes me a novice. Additionally, many subscribers have encountered issues when breeding Neon Tetras, so I felt the need to create another supplementary video.
I believe inducing Neon Tetras to spawn is relatively straightforward. The video mainly focuses on the two methods I use most frequently. Furthermore, I believe I've addressed the reasons behind the deformities in the fry from the last attempt.
Time Stamps:
0:00 - Intro
0:10 - Why we shouldn't keep tetras in a densely planted tank if we want to breed them.
0:55 - Neon tetras don't need acidic water to breed in.
2:11 - My first neon tetra breeding method.
3:06 - My second neon tetra breeding method.
4:13 - Possible Reasons why the fry in my previous attempts were deformed. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Awesome job on this!!! I'm still working on getting eggs.
Thanks! I breed green neon by using the second method.
Keep them coming!
Thanks!
Thanks so much for your awesome tips tonight Bo!

I like your breeding videos.
I appreciate that, Thanks for your support.
BROOOOOOOOO FINALLY 😭 BEEN WAITING FOR SOOOOO SOOOOOOOOOOOOO LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGG, THANKS A TOOOON 😭
can i use well water, underground water!?
second questions, how many days can we keep them in a breeding tank, and should we leave them in the breeding tank in 100% darkness all the time for them to spawn!? or do i need a lower temperature!?
third question, normally my water temperature is stable at 28°C to 29°C (26-27c in morning) , is that a problem for them to breed?
Yes you can use well water.
You can keep them for one day, if they don't spawn the following afternoon, just get them back. Complete darkness doesn't work, they need a quite and dark environment, but not completely dark. You don't need to lower temperature. The temperature between 24-28 should be all OK.
the very first thing you mentioned is also my very biggest mistake!!! Now i cant catch them. Either i tear down the tank. The fish has to be groomed to be breeders so a bare bottom tank is a must also so that it makes it easier for them to seek out the food.
Yes, thanks for your comment! A bare-bottom tank does save a lot of trouble. Like many tetra fish lovers, I also started with heavily planted tanks, but now all my tanks are bare-bottomed.
what's the food u were feeding ur fries at the end end of the video, baby brine shrimp!?
Yes, that's baby brine shrimp.
Neon tetras are very easy to breed these days. So easy that their gate price in Europe dropped even to 0.1 Euro per fish. That is price paid to breeders by wholesalers.
Yes, you're right. It's easy to breed. But still not easy for me to breed in big scale.
@@bothetetrabreeder8734 I meant that it is actually easy to breed even in large scale, hence trade prices are very low
They look like Tocanos tetra fry in one of your tanks. Do you use the same methods to spawn ?
Yes, those are Tucano tetras. unfortunately these methods don't work for Tucano tetras. It's pretty tricky for me to get tucano tetra to spawn.
@@bothetetrabreeder8734 I only have four adults in a black water setup but I live in hope
Does the male have to fertilise the eggs once she’s released them
Yes, the male has to fertilize the eggs. this happens almost simultaneously.
