“My life a mess… uhhh follow me for more I guess” I’ve never felt that more in my life. 😂From one Lexi to another, I appreciate all of your hard work, the before and afters make my heart happy for you! ❤
With red paint, there is a pigment in it that enables the red paint to "bleed through" ANY color attempt to cover it. You MUST primer cover the red paint first before you paint it! 👍🤓 Doug
@@IndigoMystikNot the same quality of primer as a color/stain blocking primer. Also, you can tint the primer a shade or two lighter than the final color for better coverage.
As a professional painter I Do not support this message. Aka u are high on paint fumes. There is no magical evil red pigment that bleeds through all paint colors. Just saying
Red is typically used on the front door to be welcoming, its also considered 'feng shui'. Not sure about the odd white panels on either side, but a red door is also a symbol for good health, positive energy, warmth. EDIT I believe its fine to paint the interior of the front door red. One person in my replies stated it was never done in Feng shui. I haven't found any information stating specifically that red is NOT to be used on the inside of the front door, and Ive looked online and in books. Please feel free to leave a reliable source in your reply. I would love to have reliable info for my own knowledge about this, since the one person adamantly negating me had no sources to cite🤷♀🤷♂️
There are a few more door colours that used to represent different things too but obviously they're all outdated now. Not 100% sure of the truth of this but bankers/lawyers - Black.
I totally agree. I would be jumping around too. I have at least 5 projects going at the same time most of the time. Love this color looks so much better
Not done with one project but starting a new one because it doesn’t give you life. I FEEL THAT! 😂😂😂 Finally, someone real, honest, and imperfect in the most perfect way!! & I love this door color, keep up the great work!!! 🤍🤍
In early American history, a red front door indicated travelers were welcome to spend the night. Perhaps this is why red is a popular front door color for many Colonial-style homes. Red doors also indicated homes involved in the Underground Railroad where fleeing slaves could be safe.
It looked like 25/7 Christmas NOW...loving the new color! I tend to be a.d.d. and get bored easily with a project. Proud of you for doing a side job and regroup for the bedroom project!
It looks a lot better after being painted. Congratulations! A kind request: pls do not say your life is a mess. As long as you are able to work and create such beautiful projects, not to mention to show them to your viewers and teach people how to do this work properly, your life is excellent!
It IS! It has good symbolism, and most importantly, it's YOUR door! Don't copy this girl, she's just doing her thing and any decorator would cringe at most of her choices, but it makes HER happy, so it feels right anyway.
Sanding will help the paint adhere to the surface. It will make the job look better too with a more even surface. Sometimes people don't look so closely on other people's doors, so it wouldn't be too much of an issue for her. But I would notice the uneven paint and problems on my own house, so that is why I prep before I paint my own door.
I love it. The only thing I don’t like about doing that is it makes the rest of them room look even in more need of repair too. I love the door. You do you though , because I love your results❣️❣️
Red doors mean you paid off your house! It’s good luck for more wealth and prosperity. I am painting my door asap, as I fully own my house, and can’t wait!
Red is a really common color for front doors in a lot of places. ... but if it's not your jam, it's your door and if you want to paint it Sky-Blue-Pink with Purple Polka-dots it's your choice.
Use a scruff pad and ruff ALL old painted surfaces! Don't have to go crazy,, just ruff it up a bit! Then you used the correct small roller over your brush to have the same texture throughout!! That is a PRO tip!
I like that you left that beautiful dark stained wood around the door. I would replace the knob and lock with something dark too to help tie it all in together. Beautiful job!
Sooo much better. Red doors were a thing. I dont remember why, but I hate that red door. Your redo looks really classy, calm and makes the space seem wider.
Something that might help in the future..? And maybe save you some $$$. When covering a really dark color with a light color, it say a red door!? If you have left over primerfrom another project... bring it to the paint store and for a few dollars have them add pigment to your white primer! Something closer to your paint color... and of you go to the same store? Sometimes they'll do it for free, if you do a lot of projects and they know you there.. hope that helps? looks great by the way.

I feel the same way, Lexi😊
Shes honestly so inspiring, swell entertainment did a vid on her and she's amazing

What's the name of the color?
“I just go where the projects call me” - 100% RELATABLE❣️👍🏽
Same here I got like 10 going on now! 👍
Yes!!!
Same! Drives my boyfriend nuts because it takes me FOREVER to finish things 😂
Same ..
I feel like this is an ADD thing my brain will focus on what it wants to i just go with it

Many paints have primer already in them.

In the UK it was meant to represent the house being paid off. Mortgage completion.
@@Mark.Ritchie I didn't know that, thanks for the additional info! Thats an interesting concept🙂👍
@@Mark.Ritchie so cool

Good color

It's so great seeing people do what they love while being fully authentically themselves. Nice job.

Red door used to mean you paid your home off! No more house payments!
wow really??? wow
It can just be a red door..💀
You are correct. A red door means the house is paid off.
That's so interesting, I've never heard that!

NOW...loving the new color!

Lexi, I couldn't agree more. The red , ugh , now that you've painted it looks better.
Nice. I love red but, I like the way you did all the areas on either side of the door the same color.
I love how when projects speak to U! I understand that. Sometimes U have to step back and see where your spirt lands. THEN PAINT!!!
The cohesive paint job made the doorway look so much bigger
I work the exact same way. Projects all around, I just pick what I feel like working on.
Hmmmm…..I think I’ll paint the front door that’s been needing painted for 11 years now. Thanks for the motivation!!! 😃
The door is beautiful now!!! You made it look brand new!!! 💕
The way you said "tiny little foam roller" is going to live rent free in my head forever
Oooohhh Lexi, that behind - lookin' fine, just like all your projects!🤣 😋 🤗
I absolutely love how all over the place you are 😂I feel seen and encouraged to just go where the project takes me lol
Lol! Love the green door idea 💡. Keep going!

I love the color you painted the door and windows 😍
I like that colr. I love those windows. They have an antique feel
Like the new paint on the door!
I like the green much better! It’s such a calming, relaxing color.
I get it. Small projects help make ya feel good 👍 and give you motivation for the bigger projects. I'm the same way
I love the green color you chose.
" My life's a mess!" 😆 You're doing fine Lexi, but that was funny 🤣
I love that color!!❤
Now, I'm a mess,Because I was surely going to paint my front door red,I thought it would be brighter and more inviting! 👍🏼🙄

The front door looks so much better than the red & white
I LOVE your reasoning!!
" I just go where the projects call me"! 🤣🥰
Everything you do looks fun. But, I miss the front door😬😂
Soooo much better!!! It was definitely calling out to you to be saved!! 🤣😍
You're doing great. And I would have definitely painted the door situation almost anything besides the red! 😂
Great job looks really good!!! Nice color choice!!
Love the color! “My life’s a mess” 🤣
The door looks nice!

Love this shade of green!! Beautiful choice.

My heart melts every time I hear her say “tiny little foam roller.”
As someone who crochets, they tell you to have multiple projects going so you do not get burnt out on just one.
That door looks 200% better. Love the color you chose!
Lol at “ my life’s a mess follow me for more I guess! “That’s was great! We love you with your “mess” and all!
i love when you say “i had to hot it with my t i n y little foam roller 😂😂😂😂😂
Me too! 😂
We had a red front door in our house too… it was the first thing I painted! ❤❤ love your videos and your in my thoughts ❤
The door looks calmed now. Very nice.
Except for the thin brown trim. That looks like mobile home trim.
We follow you where ever you go. I ‘am loving these home renovation.❤❤
That looks so much better!!!! Sometimes it is the little things😂❤😅
Replace the handles on the door with black ones and it’ll be PERFECT! I love the color you picked! The gold is just throwing me off!

Isn’t it normally a color on the outside and white on the inside?
@@emmawickman1196 that usually only holds true if things are left as the builder grade and never updated.
@@joannehickey7047 if so I don’t understand your comment saying it’s really common she didn’t like that it was red inside so she only painted inside.
Absolutely LOVE the green!! The red was horrible!! Lol ❤❤❤❤
I love that color. Neutral and welcoming. ❤
I absolutely love this color!
I prefer a small foam roller, you do what ever project that you want in what ever order you want xx
My life's a mess lmao! Same girl!🤣
Hey, a girl needs a quick win sometimes! Love the new color and it all matching. Much more soothing as you enter and live in your house. ❤
A red door means “welcome” in an old early American tradition
Yep... Life's a hot mess... I totally relate to that!

Can you tell us what color it is??
Ma’am did u sand and prime? If not, that paint might come off later. New paint always looks great at first.
Exact same color I painted mine last year! 😍😍😍

Where is part 94?
I wondered that. Even checked back but think she's accidentally missed it with her dad's passing.
