My concern is these people don’t seem to understand what goes on in a bathroom: water, soap, steam and urine. Surrounding my toilet bowl with all those little knick knacks shelves is a great way to get urine all over everything. Then all the tub surrounds are great but they don’t look water tight to me (mold and mildew) and then there’s the painted floors (one good scrub and they are gone). I’m not a DYIer but seriously this does not look like it would last or be heathy.
Never paint a bathroom floor it looks awful within a very short time. I'm not crazy about these cheap ways to fix up a house but in a pinch I suppose it's ok...but not for me not appealing doesn't last.

@@mariamercy7317 well, if you have a person in your home who stands to pee, the 98.6 degree urine hitting the 70 degree room temp air causes a bit of steam. That urine-filled steam floats and lands on the toilet and anything around it (floor, wall, etc.). It’s gross but true.
So just why will I be taking down my shower curtain part?
The rock on the tub was so tacky Lmfao
It was kin to placing contact paper on a microwave oven or spray painting a plastic vase gold.
Not to mention that rock ( airstone) is freaking expensive!!!

Love it, I really do ! I'm in the middle of remodeling my bathroom, fancy that ! However, it's quite warp speed, I have to continually stop it to get a good look.
I've put up a lot of wallpaper, but not in a bathroom with a shower. The steam will have the seams open up and be a mess soon.

Go pick up some pallets from your local furniture or appliance store. They're free, and the boards you can pull from them make great accents for a small wall like at the beginning of this video. You just need a hand saw (fairly inexpensive), a hammer, and some small nails.

Great projects. Some of these made a huge difference. My sister just redid her bathroom and it looks gorgeous! It was a complete transformation.
The only down side is over time the paint will scratch off making it look like crap. You can try sealer, but that too will scratch, chip away. Epoxy over tile is way better then paint. Paint on some metals will scratch off too. Great ideas. Think about the long run before you invest time & money. Nice job all.
I quit watching all the quick makeover tv shows. Fabric covers on kitchen banquette benches that could not be removed for washing. With little ones they'd be garbage in 6 months. If you're going tbru the time, effort and expense do it right the first time. I've whipped up too many washable, zippered cushion covers to EVER allow a family kitchen table seats not to have easy on and off washability. If it isn't supremely practical, forget it.

Never saw anything that would make me take down my shower curtain.
It was the bright blue curtain that had a small piece cut out and was applied to the tub faucet and tap surround to make them electric blue instead of stainless steel. Was weird.

It really is! I was intimidated by it but it's so easy I change mine often. I have three bathrooms and they are all 99%different from one another.
The blue plastic shrink wrap, I don't get, but some the others are ideas worth considering.

Grim springs to mind 90% of the snatches I gleaned in this super fast video. 10% were excellent.
If you would add shopping links for the paints and etcetera we could some of these fabulous things too.
For glass jars, just re-use pickle jars or other glass food jars (jelly, juice, etc.). Soak them in water to remove the labels. Then paint them and their lids.
That works if you can eat pickles or any of the spices used to make them.

I have a few formerly pasta sauce jars.
I am a lifelong Mason ( Northern ) girl and originally from the big city area, but growing up I remember visiting my late maternal southern grandparents ( mainly my grandmother, as I was only 6.5 barely when my grandfather passed ) and there would be old, I think jelly jars and maybe other jars. I thought nothing of it, and when I was still living in my home area in my mid 20s ( am nearing 48 now ), I repurposed a few pasta sauce jars and jelly jars to drink out of.
Well, in recent weeks it dawned on me my grandparents could not afford to buy cups and glasses. However, I just was never fazed by the fact my grandparents had jars.

Why would you take glass doors down to put up a shower curtain.
I know, but hard water makes cleaning glass a nightmare..
Given every bathroom surface is unforgivingly hard falling will likely be life changing, and the idea of falling against glass... So, I prefer shower curtains and would be open to pay more for them if the design of the curtains was attractive enough to be considered "a picture of art". Changing shower curtains is an inexpensive way of changing the color of the bathroom without painting too. I also like the idea from the video of using two shower curtains enough to use that concept design in my bathrooms. I think most people prefer glass but I am not one of them.
Tbf I adore my shower curtain bc it has waterproof pockets so I can watch my tablet or phone while having a bath or shower ..makes it more fun hehe..total game changer!

Watching these videos is like watching challenges where junk is thrown into a heap and the challenger has to make something out of it! All the things that are done are temporary fixes and improvements like their trying to unload the home which is why there’s always BUYER BEWARE! I watch for the humour and stupidity some of this shows. Glue guns should be outlawed LMAO 😂. Comedic entertainment for the most part and good instructional videos on what NOT to do in your home! Lol

Raise the curtain rod closer to the ceiling. Then use fashionable living room curtains instead of short shower curtains. Insert a see-through plastic curtain behind it. It creates an illusion your bathroom ceiling is taller than it is.

Inventive and creative - absolutely. Durable ideas for a bathroom prone to constant moisture, splash and high humidity? Seriously doubt it. Imagine those “improvements” will begin to deteriorate after 1-2 years.
