WATCH RIGHT TILL THE END TO SEE THE UNEXPECTED CHANGE I MADE TO THE DESIGN!😱😍🙌🏼 Let me know in down below in the comments what you think of the new and improved door :)
Love this new transformation, it's beautiful!! Can't wait to see what else you do!! Definitely inspired me to get moving and do some renovations of my own💛
Your dad is such a sweetheart, your so lucky to have him in your life. Enjoy every minute u can with him, they’re not here forever! ❤️ That’s pure love you’ll never find anywhere else!
Love the new look and anyone who has Dad in their life to help them on projects are So Darn Lucky. Thank you Charlie for helping your baby girl out God bless you all. I miss my dad RIP dad.
I think you should paint the trim around the door glass the same color as the handle. The darker color matches the window and will blend in instead of competing with the glass.
THANK YOU DAD for all your hard work you did for your daughter. The front door and porch look great. Getting ready to do ours when the weather cools off here. Just finish painting the house 2 weeks ago. We painted a room with paint from Home Depot and it was not even close to the swatch we had picked out. The paint machine mush be off all over period. Stay Safe and keep the make overs coming. You do a great job and love watching them.
Same thing happened to us.. only it was the whole outside of the house.. The house is on a main highway..with this color that wasn't close to what I choose....
Thank you daddies everywhere who come to rescue us in our home fix it projects. We need to teach our children to be handy. With youtube almost everything diy possible !!! Yeah Charlie. Such a fresh update
One tip I learned in the almost 40 Years of having a home is you can tape a plastic tablecloths from the dollar store or a shower curtain or even a blanket tape it over the frame or the outside of the house and that way you can keep the bugs and heat out of the house
GrandmaSewHappy Homestead I learned to use $ store plastic table cloths for many many projects. I use it for gardening under the cardboard then compost or rock. No weeds. The cheap table cloths are good drop cloths...and so much more.
You would just tape the plastic over the door way just while the door was drying. Or you can tape a blanket we did that years ago when I built my house and we were painting and the mosquitoes were so bad and we had no screens on the windows. But we needed to paint the room and we didn't want all the bugs coming through while the other part of the house might have had a window open for ventilation. So we take the blanket over it so I could paint in the one room and not be eaten alive
I love you show how things can go wrong, (trim color attempts) makes me feel less of a mess when I try something and it don’t workout the way I thought it would. Thank you for being authentic!
This just saved my life. I was going to get a whole new door but soo happy to know that I can replace my dated insert! I know what we’re doing next weekend!
Just finished having my house painted and shutters put on. The door is next. You have inspired me to take it a step up. Love what you did to the door and entrance. Yeah Charles!!!
I think i would have painted the trim blue around the window in the door, the white is kind of stark against the painted trim and door... but overall, looks so much better.
Your charming Dad is always there for you. You should be grateful for his patients with your artistic eye. Charlie as the daughter of a man who is no longer be able to do such helpful things, I thank you. Mom is so expressive with her reaction to all Kristen does. GOD BLESS the entire family.
sounds weird, but i love that you show how you don’t get it perfect on the first try! makes everything seem much more doable! oh now you said that in the video haha oh well
You did a great job with this project! Looks so much better! The white trim around the glass insert bothers me a little but it's your door, your decision. How awesome to have such dad willing and capable help you out any time you need him! Send my hug to your dad please!
Charlie your the Dad of the year! That was so sweet of you to help your daughter. She is really smart and has a flare for design. And she’s gorgeous! Your a very blessed Dad. Now every time she looks at her new porch she will be reminded of her Dad. It’s so nice! God bless, Leslye
People like her are never “done”, lol. By the time they’ve redone the whole house, they decide the first thing they did needs an update. It’s the never ending story.
I love that you are doing this stuff yourself. I want my daughters to be this independent but to also know that “Dad” is there in an emergency. Awesome.
Hopefully Dad taught you some of the work he did because learning how to do some basic electrical work and modification are musts in home ownership. Plus sometimes we don’t know what the hell we are doing either.
The changes look good excepts the bright , white frame around the lovely . new window. I would paint it black or maybe the color of the door. Good Job!
It is ALL a matter of preference. What one person likes, another may not. I wonder, what ever happened to respectfulness these days? It takes a classless type to comment something in this way. Have a nice day.
The white flowers draws in the white frame as a match. At first I thought the same but it keeps the white flowers from seeming off. Pink flowers might have done the same with the pink window, but the new one goes with the light fixture just right.
Omg. Bravo. You outdid yourself... its gorgeous. Well worth it.. I have the original hardwood door on my family home. Its 73 years old.. gonna do a much need makeover now. To freshen it all up at whole front of house area. Powerwash, paint, trim, patio set, cant wait. TY for the inspiration...
What a transformation! I really love how the door pops ♡ That new window insert ties everything together so well! :) The only suggestion I have would be to maybe paint the frame of the insert the same color as the door (like you had done originally) because it's the only thing that's white if you don't count the flowers, it just seems a tad out of place with your color scheme (maybe it's just me) Either way this was a great video!
Some of those vinyl pieces say not to paint over, and some are okay to paint as long as it's not a dark color. Something about the paint absorbing heat from sun and distorting the vinyl. Haven't figured out exactly what is"too dark" as I want to paint the trim on my mom's door. It bugs me every time I see it 😏
Wow what a difference! It looks so much better! The other was plain & dated but now it’s absolutely gorgeous & more modern, & changing that glass really made a big difference too! Changing the glass was the right choice to give it a more finished look! Congratulations!
the pink glass bothered you, but not the white trim? 😭 if you’d allow me to be a UA-cam critic, it would have been neat to see and before, afXter, after. ♥️ I feel like the pink was going to tie nice with the ocean picture, but I’m also a little sentimental 😁 #teampinkglass Also! I loooove how you did the “mishap” scene outside and not indoors. It was very refreshing and girl you are so beautiful! Your creativity, your kindness, your smile and your hair (especially in the last shot) is like 😍 AND Thank you Charlie!!! You guys are great 🤍
I had a whole glass piece next to my door that I really hated - it was kind of yellow circles like the bottom of soda bottles 'some day I'm going change that out'!😯 Well, one day I slipped and fell through it ! Wasn't expecting to change it out quite that way !!😬🤗😽
Kat Bunn beggars can’t be choosers!! 🤣♥️ haha I hope you’re okay! Once upon a time I said how I was spending too much time on my phone, Mother’s Day came around and I got into water with my phone in my pocket and I wasn’t able to get another for two months 🤣
Hi Kristen!! I just wanted to say how much you have inspired me to become an interior designer. Your videos have really helped me to clean and redesign my house. Thank you!!!
Kristen, I love your makeovers! Me and my husband are huge fans of your work. You always do an amazing job ! You have so much talent! Can’t wait for the next video.
Shout to Charlie and to dads like Charlie and my dad…don’t know what I would do. God Bless dad’s like them. We are lucky girls to have them in our lives.
Thank mr. Charlie. The door is beautiful. I just got a new door I wish I would have known about spray painting the knob. It would have saved us money. Thank you for making your videos budget friendly for the people who can't afford those expensive makeovers. You're the best.
I also spray painted my light fixtures black & did the same thing as she’s doing with my door handle so I’m one step ahead of her & Im changing color again this yr 👍❤️ love the new door look 👏👍

Wow! I love this color of the door!!!! Finally found the color I'd want to paint our double front door with. I've never painted in my life but your videos inspired me to try painting this month. God bless! :)
Thanks for being open about the color swap, so many people act as if they get it right without needing to go back to the store. Great job and beautiful finish!
This is awesome! I had two double porches to start my home makeover to repaint the entire inside of the house. I started with the front porch. I planned to paint all the exposed wood except the doors and top and main spindle ballistrade. But instead of whitening the wood, I wanted a light grey and stone white walls. It took forever to do the porch so much wood and a few big window areas. But when I finished that first part I just wasn’t 100% happy with the colour of the grey woodwork. Just seemed a little too dark to the subtle almost light silver/grey that I visualised. So when I saw your video makeover of your front door, I was (sorry to say) delighted that you had a few changes of the colour until it felt right for you as that’s exactly what I am going to do now! Brilliant! Thank you so much.
Loved the door color and glass insert omg also love the light fixture it looks so pretty❤️ but maybe it is just me but I didn't quite like the trim color tbh, for me a lighter white shade or on the opposite side a matte black shade on the trim would have made the door pop more but that's just my opinion ❤️ good job though!!!💐
i might be the only one, but i liked the old window much more, it seemed to tie in the wall color of the house to the entry way... also i would have rather put more time in, cleaning the stones. the new window for me looks way cheaper than the old, somehow. but again, since i‘m from europe i might value old things a bit more...
I too think the old glass looked more interesting. It just needed a different color scheme on the door to make it more striking. I love the effort you put in this transformation, though.
Thank you we all need a dad like Charlie. Love the makeover good choice to change out the glass. Not sure if I would’ve stayed with the white trim around the glass. Maybe black trim around the glass. Thanks for sharing inspires me to do my front door makeover.
I finally talked hubbie into new outdoor lights, after 17 years. I love that they go on on there own at dusk. We just sold the house a few months later because he was transferred. Sigh! Love it
Fantastic transformation! I am doing the same thing with my own outdated front door this Spring. Can Charlie come over and help me replace my porch light? He is awesome! You are so very fortunate to have a loving and helpful Dad!
For over 30 years I did home improvement projects with my dad. We did everything from installing a sprinkler system, building a deck and refinishing cabinets. He died recently and I miss him dearly. He was not only a mentor and inspiration, he was my best friend. As a young woman, these experiences were invaluable.
Wow! You did an awesome job! I did the same thing taping around the door handles. But I used a bronze paint Rust-Oleum Bronze steel to paint the door sets with out removing using a thin paint brush. Then use a clear sealer steel paint coating. I do it in the winter since it dries fast and stays durable.
I love it, lovely clean lines and very modern ❤️ we have a wooden front door that’s been sealed off as we only use our side door, don’t ask me why but it was like this when I moved in with my fiancé and that was 6 yrs ago. I want to unseal it and paint the door and redo the glass that’s in the center, much like your door. You have inspired me
I love your original pink glass insert but of course you're right that the new one looks better with your design. I don't have an insert but I'd love to have one similar to your original.
I am a little late coming to this post but i looove it!!!! It took all of my will power not to fast forward to see the results and it was totally worth every minute of it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and your efforts with us.
OMG this is a beautiful makeover but Charlie really really save the day! Kudoos to all the dads out there that really makes a difference in their grown out children life!!

I am so excited to watch the transformation!

Sorry for your loss Julian. RIP your Dad. Bless.
me too Julian. My dad was always there to help me turn my dreams into reality. Now it's all up to me and my husband. Definitely miss my dad!
The white strip around the glass insert should be the same color as the door, the slate blue color. Nice Job!
Was thinking that too... ☺
Yes, that white trim was all I could focus on, throws it all off but everything else is absolutely stunning!
Same!
I agree! The white stands out too much. Great job and love the color of the door. 😍
It frames the window
I think you should paint the trim around the door glass the same color as the handle. The darker color matches the window and will blend in instead of competing with the glass.

I don't need a front door. I just love watching random videos of house renos or decorating lol.
😂❤️
I miss my dad, he always was there for me. He was a very fine handyman. You are a very lucky young lady.
Boy! I wish I had seen this in my old house! And Charlie - you're the type of Dad that truly measures up!!!

Plastic doesn’t allow it to drain tho

Good thing you still have your dad to cater to your needs. Lucky girl.
Kris I was so happy to see you change the glass in the door that was an excellent decision very beautiful work well done. You never disappoint.

Lol I call my dad all the time with car questions! He’s a mechanic so nothing against my mom.
The changes look good excepts the bright , white frame around the lovely . new window. I would paint it black or maybe the color of the door. Good Job!
The white wood around the new insert would drive me nuts. Stands out like a sore thumb
exactly I was thinking. weird but like the old glass. looked just fine.

The white flowers draws in the white frame as a match. At first I thought the same but it keeps the white flowers from seeming off. Pink flowers might have done the same with the pink window, but the new one goes with the light fixture just right.
Horrid unkind response. Why so harsh? It's only your opinion. You can surely share it in a kinder fashion.

No, you are not the only one. That white strip really spoils the overall look.
Great job Charlie!! Love all that you did with the makeover!! My front door is a deep brown!! It is real beautiful!!
I would try painting around the glass insert sand colour same as the frame to see how it would blend in or keep it all teal

Amazing! I didn’t realize you could change those glass inserts! Great job as usual, Kristen!
Great dad...what would the world be without all our fantastic dads!
The white frame of the window frame makes it look like a picture frame.
No - if she wants the frame look, the outer trim color (tan/beige) would look better, IMHO.
Dad Charlie saved the day! Awesome team work! Good job buddy!

Hi Kristen, I am a new subscriber today. I love your makeover and the new glass insert! I just painted my front door a cranberry color. It pops with a pretty wreath for summer and now Fall. Kristen what a drastic improvement from a neglected exterior to massive curb appeal. If I were passing by I would definitely want to buy this home.
Wow! I love this color of the door!!!! Finally found the color I'd want to paint our double front door with. I've never painted in my life but your videos inspired me to try painting this month. God bless! :)

Kristen I’m obsessed with the color you used on the door as well as the insert (I never knew that was a thing) & fixtures. Well done girlfriend!!
This is awesome! I had two double porches to start my home makeover to repaint the entire inside of the house. I started with the front porch. That was so sweet of your dad to help you out with this amazing make over!
When your parents sell their home, they can sell it for wayyyy more with all these updates!! You’re an amazing daughter!! 💕
It looks lovely but the glass panel you had before was gorgeous and didn’t need changing in my opinion. Well done, and thanks dad for helping xx
i might be the only one, but i liked the old window much more, it seemed to tie in the wall color of the house to the entry way... also i would have rather put more time in, cleaning the stones. the new window for me looks way cheaper than the old, somehow.
but again, since i‘m from europe i
might value old things a bit more...
I too think the old glass looked more interesting. It just needed a different color scheme on the door to make it more striking. I love the effort you put in this transformation, though.
You and your mom are so lucky to have a Charlie, good colors makes a huge difference. Thanks for sharing !
PLZ DO A HOUSE TOUR!!!!🙏🙏🙏
The Rust-Oleum hammered spray paint and silver spray paint makes everything look beautiful from flower pots to door handles.
The door turned out great! I just don’t think the colour matches the brown brick wall!
I love the match of the door colour to the bricks!!
Thank you we all need a dad like Charlie. Love the makeover good choice to change out the glass. Not sure if I would’ve stayed with the white trim around the glass. Maybe black trim around the glass. Thanks for sharing inspires me to do my front door makeover.
The only addition I would have done is doubling the door mat, layering it with another ontop
I finally talked hubbie into new outdoor lights, after 17 years. I love that they go on on there own at dusk. We just sold the house a few months later because he was transferred. Sigh! Love it

I love your original pink glass insert but of course you're right that the new one looks better with your design. I don't have an insert but I'd love to have one similar to your original.
Hello Kristen. Nice job. I found that taking all hardware from door makes things a lot easier and a nicer cleaner finish.
Very nice! It looks more spacious! I am glad your Dad was cooperative!

I am a little late coming to this post but i looove it!!!! It took all of my will power not to fast forward to see the results and it was totally worth every minute of it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and your efforts with us.
My current front door color is taupe. I’m planning on painting it bright red. Your door looks great! It was so sweet watching your dad help you out.
