  • Learn how to make foaming fluffy whipped butter sugar scrub. It only requires 3 ingredients! This scrub is fluffy, soft, & amazing. It leaves skin fresh, exfoliated, & moisturized. It is my favorite scrub so far! For the base you'll need butter & a liquid - which can be oil or body wash. Body wash produces foam & suds +. rinses the scrub off clean. Oil produces a more moisturizing scrub & leaves an oily-lotion residue on skin (like if you applied body oil).
    RECIPE: 60 grams butter (I used cocoa & shea butter), 50 grams liquid (I used body wash). [optional] 2 grams preservative, 7.5 grams fragrance oil, 10 grams SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate) [or you can use sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium cocoyl isethionate]. DIRECTIONS: Melt butter. Add SLSA if you wish. Mix butter well. Freeze butter 10 minutes (best when hard shell & a soft, creamy middle. Stir to loosen. **If you over freeze butter, allow it to get to room temperature or microwave it (in 10 second intervals) until it's soft enough to be stirred. Once butter can be stirred, add preservative (this isn't absolutely necessary since there's no water, but it is recommended) & fragrance (I used warm vanilla sugar fragrance oil with this scrub because it goes perfectly). ***Check usage rates for fragrance. Stir & mix the batch well. Whip it with a mixer once it's easy enough to stir. {A hand held mixer is easier & better suited for this small recipe. A big mixer is ideal for a big recipe.} Scrape the sides & continue whipping. Once it's soft & smooth add 35 grams of liquid & continue whipping. The base should be soft, smooth, & fluffy. EXFOLIANT: I used raw sugar, brown sugar, & granulated sugar. {Raw sugar exfoliates, but it isn't fine enough for the entire surface of the skin. So, I added the other sugars for the perfect exfoliation experience} Add exfoliant & mix it in. Periodically check the scrub & continue from there. Create a scrub to suit your exfoliation preferences. Once it feels perfect cover it & cure it overnight. It will thicken & dry. You'll have to add more liquid. Add liquid (stirring after each addition) until the scrub is thick, soft, & fluffy (the perfect consistency for piping). I added an additional 15 grams liquid (about 50 grams total for the entire recipe). PIPING: You'll need a piping bag & a large tip. Do a test run first. Pipe scrub into containers. DECORATION is optional, but I recommend sprinkling the same exfoliant on top. This adds decoration & indicates the exfoliant used in the scrub. RESULTS: This particular scrub is best applied on dry skin. Slather it on. It's very soft, slick, & oily. The surfactants are activated by water, creating a surplus of foam & suds. It rinses off easily & leaves skin clean, exfoliated, & fresh! ** If you over-wet the scrub cure it overnight. If it's still too wet, you may need to make another batch. ***Scrub Should last 6 months - 1 year. The recipe makes 1 & a half 3.5 ounce containers (as seen in video). The scrub stays in position, whipped up, & ready to go! ***Cover scrub so it doesn’t dry out.

    I find you to be absolutely amazing! I have been following several ... SEVERAL ... individuals who share their knowledge, experience and expertise. I have been experimenting for 8 months with different formulations. I am very close to packaging and launching my brand. HOWEVER ... YOU have made a difference in my path. I NEVER wanted to make bath bombs, and because I found you, I have began my production and packaging of bath bombs. I made your whipped body butter and when I handed it out for feedback .... YOUR RECIPE made the cut above 4 others. I am grateful to you ... for you ... and please don't stop educating and sharing. You are a blessing.

What the heck.. did I put too much SLSA? Not giving up tho cause i have a body wash that I would LOVE to turn into a sugar scrub! Have a wonderful weekend❤

    Omg that’s so easy. I don’t pipe it anymore. Even though it’s pretty. I save containers all the time. Just stuff it in there. My friends always want some sugar scrub. Yesterday they got the big yogurt containers of sugar scrubs. The last one you did with the coconut oil. Mine separated the next day. Added some poly 80 and was good to go. Loved it.

    Thank you soooo much for creating and sharing an affordable sugar scrub recipe. Your videos always inspire me.
    I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on something...
    I somehow accidentally bought decyl glucoside a while back and have no clue what to use it for. Do you think it might work in place of the body wash in this recipe?

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 роки тому +3

      Yes I do. But my opinion is to save it- it’s expensive to use in this- especially when you can use a cheap shower gel and it come out the same… but that’s up to you! But decyl glucoside is a surfactant & is very similar to coco glucoside. And you can use it anytime a recipe calls for a surfactant, like coco betaine. Obviously they’re not the same but as far as my recipes go you can hardly tell the difference!
