Whipped to Perfection: Make the Fluffiest Body Scrub!

  • Today I'm showing you how to make the best whipped scrub EVER! It's so soft, fluffy & even stays whipped up in high temperatures, like 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius). This scrub is beautiful & is also an amazing exfoliator; it leaves skin feeling fresh, clean, exfoliated, & soft.
Melt ingredients (any heating method): 20 grams emulsifying wax, 50 grams cetearyl alcohol, 20 grams stearic acid, 50 grams sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (optional), 125 grams butter (I used cocoa butter & a bit of Shea butter). Cool to 120 degrees Fahrenheit (48 degrees Celsius) before adding liquid ingredients: 20 grams emulsifier (I used hydrogenated castor oil, (it's also a foam-booster), 30 grams fragrance oil, 2 grams preservative (Germall plus). Whip mixture at room temperature- around 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius). Get mixture soft, fluffy, & even. Add 100-200 grams exfoliant (I used sugar) + 1 tablespoon (10 grams) poppy seeds. Last, add up to 100 grams (25 grams at a time) of pressed or unrefined coconut oil (the one that is solid at room temperature)! You shouldn't need more than 75 grams. Don't add too much or the scrub won't get firm enough to produce swirls. Depending on the other ingredients (like if you used a softer butter), you may only need a little bit. For a firmer, stiffer scrub add less. For a more fluffy, softer scrub, add more. ***I added 100 grams of coconut oil to recipe in video, & it was just a little bit too much. The other scrub (that I previously made) saved me! ***If using this exact recipe I'd say 75 grams would be perfect. If you add too much, you'll have to make another batch, skipping the coconut oil & then combine the 2 (like I did).
***SUBSTITUTIONS: You may change ingredients & amounts- just know it may change the outcome of the final product. Emulsifying wax & stearic acid: Pola wax, more cetearyl alcohol, or another emulsifying wax. Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (it adds a little bit of foam & lather + it cuts the greasy feel) can be omitted or replaced with sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium cocoyl isethionate. Hydrogenated castor oil: polysorbate 80 or polysorbate 20, or another emulsifier. Use any butter & exfoliant that you want. I don't think there's a good replacement for coconut oil (it adds just the right amount of slick fluffy goodness).

Hello again Dora, a thousand thanks for sharing. I found an incredible formula, I only had a couple of doubts that I would like to see if you can help me clarify:
    - Emulsifying wax, if I heard correctly you mentioned that you used hydrogenated castor oil, and I see that you put polysorbate 20 or 80 as options. Is this correct? or could it be lanette wax?
    - Fractionated coconut oil in Mexico is sold liquid or I can use coconut oil that is solid and dilutes with heat, but if I'm wrong it was this type of oil that you integrated into your formula.
I thank you in advance for all the support you always give us.
I send you a big hug from Mexico.
    Blessings!🙏💖🥰

I made this recipe twice to be sure I did it right and at first its like whipped cream or frosting but after a few hours it became pretty hard. I dont understand what I'm doing wrong. I followed recipe exactly. Do you by any chance have any ideas or suggestions to help me? Thank you!!! I cant wait to figure this out. It helps my skin to be incredibly soft. because you're so good, I am hoping you can help me. Everyone has this lovely rich whipped soap. Mine is so thin wether I make the base myself, or if I buy the Stephenson, or another base. I add 2 oz of oil for every pound of base, I make my base with coco betaine, sci, propylene glycol, stearic acid, and glycerine w/a little distilled water. What is everyone else doing that I'm not? I have tried butters, I did your recipe with the cocoa butter, its always too thin. I am looking for it to be rich. Any suggestions would be so appreciated and I'd be so grateful for any help.

I am new to making body scrubs thank you so much for this video. Question can you use beeswax pellets instead of emulsifying wax and lecithin instead of cetearyl alcohol ? I am looking to make a more all natural body scrub.

I'd be lying if I told you for sure. You'll have to experiment with those ingredients.
