  • My Yamaha G16A just stopped dead one afternoon and I had no idea what was wrong. I knew it was electrical and thought it may be the Solenoid. I was starting to take the wires off to remove the solenoid and saw a fuse holder on the bottom of one of the wires. I removed the fuse and it was blown and the solution to my electrical problem. After replacing the fuse, the cart started right up.
I still have to use the choke to pull up the hill but at this time I can live with that.

hey iv got the exact same set up and am having a strickly electric issue; my problem started about a week ago...it seems like we couldnt get the battery to stay charged; we replaced the battery and now its taking less juice from the new battery than it did the old. its reverse noise is almost none existant now...idk if its fuses, or what but anything would help; i had it up and running great after several year break, and need it now more than ever!

Just got a cart. Took to my deer lease today for the first ride. Worked great for the first hour or 2. Then started having trouble with it. Died and I thought was out of gas and nope. Let sit for about 5 min an was able to drive about 50 yards then would die again. Finally got on the trailer and got to my buddies house and no problems. Got it home and drove up and down the Rd and no problems. But at the lease die probly 10 times. Any ideas

the only connection I have not checked is the end of spark plug wire I can't see. If it turns out I have an electrical issue what would be the next thing to look at. cart does turn over so I know its not the syliniod, can the starter motor have a intermittant problem and still be cranking over?

Same issue, the in-line fuse holder melted to the fuse.

Silvana, Do you have a fuel filter in your fuel line? A lot of time debris will work its way to the back of the filter where it goes into the engine and cuts off the fuel supply. I know I have had that happen before the debris is blocking the fuel and when it stops it has a chance to float away and clear the fuel line.
If your cart will run all day then nothing, can you expand on that a little. Does it stop for a day and then start the next day?
    Thanks,
    Sparkie

my cart seems to have a loose conection or intermittant problem, it will run fine for a day then nothing. things I have done, replace brushes, removed battery terminals and cleaned put back together, checked the syliniod box for blown fuse or loose connections, pulled fuel pump off and took apart and rebuilt[seems to be working, pulled carb off took apart cleaned and rebuilt. pulled and replaced spark plug[ did not test plug for spark whats an easy way of doing that?

I have a G2 Yamaha cart.Starts well and engine kicks in for several holes then I have to sort of tickle the gas pedal for engine to start for rest of round. Once going engine runs fine. Thought it might be muck in fuel filter but can't seem to find the in line filter. Any ideas on both problems welcomed.

The filter is at the bottom of the tank, remove the tank (3 bolts) or climb under buggy to remove.

Not knowing a lot about these things but it sounds like you may have some trash in your gas filter. I have that happen on several cars over the past 45 years. I don't know what is causing you not to have a spark at the plug.
Good luck and I hope someone can help you.

Sounds like the ignition coil, some when they get warm or hot they expand to the point that they separate loosing contact inside.

hey i had a fleet of g-1 and g-2 look at your oil fill plug sayes 1 qt big rubber cap, then check the book and the dipstick both will say you are 1/2 quart low,if you add till full on stick its much easer to get oil on air filter, and make run ritch foul plugs, so yanaha did get back and say only the filler cap is right ? so drain it all out ten refill 1 qt,then remark the full level, about 1//2 qt low add a grind mark as the new fuel, run out regular gas and use bp shell preiemim, and a sealeeald battery as it charges at 15 volts and eats the frame,or if you dont want problems of gasahall e-10 or e-15 i ues ave gas,buy at airport ,then wont have fuel related problems ? ajust pilot screw so its running when turned over, and ready to go use only o.e.m.filters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read new plugs after a tank, ajust one heat range if needed, like fouls plugs? av gas last 10 years, generators 4 cycle snoblowers any thing using less than a few tanks, its worth it starting more power, less fuelfo a no restart? could have a vaccum leak on fuel pump? sheck presher and volum? when problem happens!

+john public check the oil filler cap and see if it says 1 quart if it does drain the oil out and add 1 quart and put a new mark on the stick. could be a bad fuel pump letting fuel into the oil. or could be the float in the carburetor has sunk or you have dirt in the needle and seat you can call my shop 419-8928 02218 leave a message I'll get back with you.

one simple way of checking for spark is taking the spark plug out and connect it to the coil wire and put the spark plug on the engine were its clean, it will act as a ground, then start the engine and c if the spark plug is making spark, or the hillbilly way is getting ur finger wet and put it in the coil plug and then turn it over if ur hair goes up it has spark haha

Winner of a video, been searching for "best golf club to learn with" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Keniden Benilliam Release - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my neighbour got great results with it.
