where do you get that seat rim cushion on the front of the base...can't find it anywhere?
can you pressure wash the whole engine including the battery?
I hose mine down did not pressure wash
Good video! I would add don't forget to check gear oil in rear end. Bought mine from a course and rear end was drastically low.
need to paint some flames on it. it makes it go faster. ;-)
That is a myth that you can't switch from synthetic oil back to regular oil. What you can't switch back from is the high mileage oils that are recommended for engines with over 75,000 miles. They have additives that swell seals to reduce leaking. If you stop using that type oil the seals will start leaking again. It is best not to use high mileage oils in vehicles that do not have very high mileage, which golf carts will never have.
Synthetic oils are superior to regular oils and can be used in small engines without concern. Always use the recommended viscosity or weight suggested by the manufacturer, for example 10W30.
As for gasoline, use non-ethanol gasoline in small engines. Add Stabilizer to fresh fuel if that fuel might sit in the tank several months.
Bad fuel with ethanol is horrible for small engines. It will cause problems eventually and require repairs. Ethanol fuel works in cars only because car engines typically burn a tank of fuel within a week or month at most.
My clutch does not have a greese nipple. Should I add one?
must be older or closed system, I would ask Yamaha service people that one.
How many grease zerks
are there and where are they located Thanks
Doesn't the rear end have 90 wt.gear oil in it? Need to check it???
Don't use SeaFoam, use StarTron instead, it is the best for small engines. Also change the spark plug. The model before was the G22, they had issues. The Yamaha G29 Drive is the best model to buy. Great video, thanks.
Thank you so much for this. I just picked up a G series not 100% sure which model it is but the engine compartment looks identical more or less. Could you please clarify how you put it in neutral for me ....also would you know the best way to safely pressure wash the engine compartment. It's pretty old and dirty, thanks again for a great instructional video!
natural = place the forward and reverse lever to the middle, so half way between forward and reverse
I spray down engine with super green or any degreaser (Dawn) let it set and hose it off.
@@HeyGunPeople thanks so much 👍
I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MY 1999 MODEL G16A FOR 5 MOS NOW WHEN I TRY YO DRIVE IT I STEP ON GAS PEDAL AND MOVES VERY SLOWLY USUALLY THE ENGINE FIRES UP AND AWAY I GO I HAD MY SPARK PLUGGED REPLACED 5 MOS AGO ALONG WITH AIRFILTER DO YOU THINK GAS COULD BE BAD? I AM GOING TO CHARGE BATTERY OVERNITE TO SEE WHAT THAT DOES FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS FLOODED THEN I LET SIT OVERNITE AND TRIED AGAIN SAME STORY ANY IDEAS I HAVE VID IF THAT HELPS THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
put it in N, move the forward and reverse lever to the middle and then press on gas see if it revs up or does same thing.
How much grease goes in that zirk fitting?
How much grease did you put in the clutch mechanism?
You forgot to lube the secondary clutch in the rear.
In FL we only get about 3-4yrs on a battery, from the heat.
He just told you that you needed batteries to scare you and he got it on trade very cheap. I know those dealers and he did not put new batteries in it before re selling it. Dealers rule is the more you fix it up, the less you score.
Are there grease nipples (oooops these days 'zerks') on the front suspension anywhere? The manual doesn't mention any, and if there are, they are hiding from me. 2007 Electric 'Drive'/G29. Thanks
Oil in the air box means there's something wrong, usually motor oil was over filled. Yamaha 357 holds one quart.
I work on golf carts for a living stay away from a G29 they have a cheap junk transaxles in them from 2007 to 2017, in 2018 they went back to a Dana style rear. G16 and G22 were the best carts Yamaha made hands down, they both have the same engine, if you change a coil in a G29 you have to unbolt the motor to get to it G29's are a nightmare. I am talking gas not electric.
Do the 2018 Yamaha Drive with a carb have the Dana style rear axle?
Does that go for electric models also?
And I was getting ready to look at a low mileage 2017. The lady died and it’s been sitting in her garage and she’s original owner. I was hoping to get a great deal what do you think a good price would be? Thanks
Have a problem and wanted to know if you have ever run across this happening on a 2002 yamaha gas golf cart, it started smoking bad didn’t drive it far , found gas in the air cleaner box , filter was soaked, checked oil it had gas in it as wells,so I drained the oil ,put new carburetor, fuel pump, spark plug, air filter and new oil, drone it no smoke but no power pulling up a grade (hill) pull the new plug out ant it was. Covered with heavy black soot, put another plug in and had the same problem, am lost at what could be the problem ,any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks mike
Looking at purchasing a 2017 Quietech Drive 2 that is just coming off of a golf course. Would you do it again? Laughed at your comments. Just be glad you don't have a brother who lives in California and does nothing but call you names when you voice your thoughts but expects you to listen to his diatribe, slander, and libel.
Lmao 8:55
VanHagar on the radio awesome Rick! I also did Mobile Synthetic. I changed to Castrol I found out its better quality.
So.... do you actually need to put grease in that grease nipple on the clutch that you showed?
yes
Thanks for the vid
You can be more efficient chasing after the horses now!
She's a beauty. Smokey will love that rear seating area.
he already took it out for test ride, he approves.
Yamahawawa.
This guy must only understand the northern dude gay dialect
Nice addition for the ranch.
Dam does anything come Maintenance Free. You need a man to do anything..
Susan, very little does. Sadly, usually they are use once then throw away. I have a Craftsman edger that I have done the maintenance on for years and it is 33 years old. Finally had to change the carb due to old age, but other than blades and oil, spark plug, air filter it has lasted. One thing to make your stuff last is to keep it out of the weather. Susan, with a few tools, you can do everything that needs to be done to the cart to make it last. Oil changes and a few other things require only basic tools.
Hi sir were I can buy fuel pump like that? im from Philippines
No idea
im calling the IRS lmao kidding
2011 G29 and pretty sure the trans axle oil has never been changed. Cannot find the fill hole, any help?
ua-cam.com/video/i6D-2frpmP8/v-deo.html
definitely once you go synthetic don't go back especially on older engines with plain paper or cork gaskets.
Does anybody know how much grease to squirting into that zirk fitting on the clutch? -Bryan
I could not find that either, I just put until it full and back sqirts out
One pump with the grease gun is recommended!!!
@@nathanduckeorth806 will it help lube the roller bushings induce? I'm getting a slight squealing noise and am going Grease will help with that
That's considered an electric car and you can deduct it on your taxes. It should basically be free.
💪💪
It looks great, Rick. For some reason a mini Dune buggy comes to mind. 😀
Lmao 300-400 miles to a tank! Not even close you be lucky get 50 miles
The latest Yamaha tech sheet for the carb based 2018 Drive says about 245 miles for a tank full.
he said tank not gallon
Bro if you're getting 50 miles on a tank of gas in your cart, you have SERIOUS problems!
You scored Rick. I am happy for you....
Lost me at synthetic and non synthetic oil. But I am not a vehicle person. Great advice about second hand stuff. It can be applied to other second hand stuff as well.
Now, you and Smokey get on and let us c how it goes!
Yup . Grease zerk. . .
nice looking wheels , like the rims

Shows ya how much I know about golf. I thought golf carts were electric.
Me too.
Mister Deplorable They are. This is just a gas powered one If You listened He said He traded His ELECTRIC one in towards this Gas one.
Looks like the other belt ( not the drive belt) goes to the alternator !
the other belt is starter belt
Your both right it's an alternator and starter all in one.
what did you pay for the cart
after taxes and trade in of my old cart 2900
The clutch is called a continuously variable clutch. The faster the engine speed the smaller the pulley becomes there by increasing the speed of the cart. One bad thing about the fuel injected, is you have to know a lot about it and have the correct tools to work on it. With the carb, you can fix it a lot cheaper. Also the fuel injected requires a high pressure fuel pump. Good job on the video. Liberals are a waste of good air!
