About Jodi: It's been said that that ConcernedApe revealed that Abigail isn't the illegitimate child of the wizard. But the wizard says one of the villagers is a kid of his. I'm thinking that because Vincent's design is based off of Studio Ghibli characters who are always magical and mystical, maybe instead Vincent is his child. He's young enough it would fit the time frame. Sam even says Vincent never got to know Kent as a dad. And with the clue that Jodi is a Jodi...it feels like it fits better. Just a random thought. Not 100% committed to it.
Nah. Vincent never new his father because he was too young to remember him when Kent left. Thats why there is no strong bond between them. I've also asked my son (3.5 years old) frequently about his passed away grandfather if he remembers him (my dad, may allah forgive him) and he said yes for months but 2 weeks ago I asked him again and he said that he can't remember him anymore. This is how children brains work..
The wizard mentions he suspects that one of the villagers is his *daughter*, so I doubt it is Vincent. That, and Caroline, Abigail's mother, mentions she used to take frequent walks to the wizard's tower, but you must not tell Pierre because he has jealousy issues. Pierre also asks you if Abigail looks anything like him, because he wonders if he is really her father. Abigail also mentions she can't remember the last time she dyed her hair, and she swears it never fades from that color (purple, like the wizard's hair). Although that last one can be contradicted due the the fact Caroline mentions that she wishes Abby would go back to her natural color, so I don't know on that one.
thanks for showing the wizard dialogue in events where you can't reach him, i've always been curious if he actually had any dialogue or if it would just be a placeholder!

Now let’s just imagine if Jodi finds out that witch hut exists….
At 4:02 when you are talking about the dolphin poster, this could also be a reference to the Nintendo Dolphin, a code name for what became the Game Cube. This would keep the references in Nintendo related items.

There was a very fun game adaptation of the TV show "Flipper" that Concerned Ape no doubt watched and played. He's 3 years younger than me, and I see a lot of '90s stuff in Stardew Valley. Also, the working codename during development of the Nintendo Game Cube was project "Dolphin." Nintendo had a graphics demo of a Dolphin to show off the new tech, so the poster could be a reference to that demo. There's no doubt in my mind Concerned Ape was playing a ton of the same games my brothers (his age) and I were playing in the 1990s, especially Harvest Moon 64, which Stardew Valley feels like he took every aspect of that game, then expanded it 100 fold. I love playing Stardew Valley, because it feels super nostalgic, back when games were games, and none of this micro-transaction and "we'll patch the bugs later, maybe," mindset. Games in the '90s were severely limited by the hardware of the time, and if you released a buggy game, you lost a fortune, maybe even go bankrupt. This meant games had to have really good gameplay, a good story, and have as few bugs as possible. We ended up with some great gems. Also some really janky ones, lol. We'd rent the game at Blockbuster, play it a week, and if we liked it, we either rented it again, or bought it. Different times, man.
14:00 wouldn't it be 4 ppl in town that don't go to the clinic, if you count the Wizard? I don't think he'd be going to Harvey if he so keen on drinking his forest essence juice 😂
I still wonder if anyone will ever realise how much the kids, Vincent and Jas, share character traits with Calvin and his neighbor girl Susie from the Calvin and Hobbes comic books. Vincent considers it a tough choice when challenged about getting his clothes dirty, knowing that his mom will hate it - same with Calvin. Also his love for snails and bugs and his lack of interest in school, as can be seen by the low grades he gets (on the cupboard in his home). There is a line from Vincent when you reached a good friendship level with him where he tells you that he considers you not as boring as most grown-ups. Calvin constantly describes grown-ups as boring. Jas has some things in common with Susie, always pretty, always good at school, always playing neatly. Also they go to school together in the comics.
I think the easter eggs you see with the title screen (clicking the E; the corner; etc) were each added with every major update (1.1, 1.2, etc) of the game. I could be wrong but there always seemed to be a new thing each time!
For some reason, seeing Linus walking through the snow made me really want a mod that would change his tent into a giant ceramic jar. ... Maybe also give him a toga and lantern.
16:41 completely unrelated to the subject of the video but this just unlocked a deep forgotten memory from years ago where I was for some reason I was really interested in this game and watched a lot of lets plays of it 😂
speaking of Terraria, you can see a Soul Of Flight in two spots in Stardew Valley: in the credits after scrolling down for a bit and randomly on a good luck day from the fortune teller
It's in Expanded, but I remember being so shocked when talking to Victor and he mentions continuing to watch 'My Villain Academia', which is a canonical term used for an arc in My Hero Academia. And of course, Legend of Lonk.
I am 1:27 in and legitimately so amazed that I do the +0× face, I would have never thought that theres so much of this personal little heart felt details of CA in there, I only started playing the game last year when I could finally afford it, and Salmence is my first and only source of stardew facts so far since I dont want myself to be spoiled too much but he mostly keeps spoiler warnings ot does videos focusing on a specific topic that i know about already but want better detailed understanding, and because out of 4 people of tried lostening to the first 5 minutes in, he was the most charismatic to me personally, however, I'm still new to the game and this just completely blew me away and i just started watching :D How fascinating
I think there is another reference, i heven't really seen anyone talk about it yet, but at the beggining of the game, during the cutscene where the main character works at jojo, one of the people working behind desks is Stan from Monkey Island game series
i was kind of surprised this didn’t come up in the video BUT the trucker hat is (or so i’ve heard) a reference to the eggscellent episode of regular show and while watching this video, linus’ dialogue at the spirits eve festival is also probably a reference to pops catchphrase
I'm late to this video lmao but I'm so glad you mentioned #20 being a Howl's Moving Castle reference, I _love_ the books and the movie and in all my Stardew playthroughs, I'd always make sure to get that scarecrow at the fair. I knew its design wasn't just a coincidence!
Awesome video! I learned a lot of interesting trivia I never caught from this, and I have almost 400 hours in the game! One thing I want to say, at 14:44, I think the Joja logo is more a parody of the WatchMojo logo than Amazon. They both have the "J" as a nose with a smile below it and are in blue text. "Joja" is a ripoff of "Mojo"
It’s so cool to know that my favorite game creator was just a nerd like me. The fact that he put in so many references from the stuff I love is so incredibly cool to me.
On number 76 if you marry Sam and you talk to him there is a chance that he will say “do ever think Abigail and Sebastian will hook up?” Or something along the lines of that
I'm not really sure, but I'll be damned if a pirate saying 'youch' is not a reference to the Monkey Island game series where Guybrush says youch everytime he gets hurt.
5:10 I always thought that the secret of the moon was inspired by the old film by Georges Méliès titled Le Voyage dans la Lune. But I never thought that it could also be a reference to my little pony haha I really love mlp fim ♥
The Wizard's birthday, Winter 17, is on the 101st day of the year. I want to believe that it's a reference to Wizard101, a kid's MMORPG released in 2008, had its heyday in the 2010s, and is still going strong
Probably mentioned elsewhere and on some other video you made, but still. If you trow an ancient doll in lava at floor 100 (I hope its floor 100, but there should be a level with an lava lake in the minee) trowing in the ancient doll with give you this green gem (the top part of an Terraria Forest Pylon) taking this gem and placing it down in the wizard his basement at the green "bush" (the bottom part of an Terraria Forest Pylon) this will open up a portal to the Terraria universe, where a cat will come out and give you the meowmere (or however you spell it) this is a big Terraria. Terraria is also the game that reminded me of trying this game. I recently played a lot of Terraria and I got the Junimo pet in Terraria. This made me wonder about Stardew valley. I had already found other Stardew valley refrences and things, but this one convinced me lol. I love that these games all have secret messages and refrences and things in all of them releating to some other game. Its really really cool and fun to see. Its one of the biggest things I love smaller indie games so much :)
a reference i think many people missed is that the description for the broken CD says "It's a JojaNet 2.0 trial CD. They must've made a billion of these things" which I'm pretty sure is a reference to America online and the amount of trial CDs they made
my favourite easter egg is that by using an ancient doll in lava on level 100 of the mines, you get an item you can use at the wizard’s tower to get the Meowmere sword, which is a terraria reference!
i've got 2 pet sea urchins who wear hats, one in my coral reef tank named Dave, who wears a fedora, and one alone in a modern tank wearing a sailor's cap, named skipper (who was a gift from krobus)

16:41 completely unrelated to the subject of the video but this just unlocked a deep forgotten memory from years ago where I was for some reason I was really interested in this game and watched a lot of lets plays of it 😂
The first time I visited the wizard m, the Lwaxana Troi reference made me very happy. I’m a huge Star Trek nerd.
This is what exactly what I've been waiting for when you give Clint something he loves that is a meme I heard before
14:52 Jojas logo looks like a smile. The o and a are the eyes, the j is the nose, and the smile is well the smile.
I think this is the first secrets video I've seen in a while with new to me secrets. Neat!
4:55 I think you mean *fortunately*! It was a struggle for me to go on the submarine in Stardew right after the oceangate incident
false advertising smh.... 2 more facts than expected..... liked and subscribed...........
Legend of the River King is so good
criminally underrated lil series imo
speaking of Terraria, you can see a Soul Of Flight in two spots in Stardew Valley: in the credits after scrolling down for a bit and randomly on a good luck day from the fortune teller
These videos are amazing but so is your voice ‼️💯
That's crazy to me because I was so sick when I recorded this! I was actually worried about how my voice sounded
@@salmence100 ohh! I hope you are doing well now 💗
I’m so glad you knew about the Stardew reference in Gungeon! If you didn’t I would’ve called you out on it real quick.
yippee yippee my favorite stardew creator has graced thee!
(with a new video)
Considering how Razmodius is totally not Abigail's biological father it makes sense that he makes a reference to the horniest woman in Star Trek
I think there is another reference, i heven't really seen anyone talk about it yet, but at the beggining of the game, during the cutscene where the main character works at jojo, one of the people working behind desks is Stan from Monkey Island game series
The game Core Keeper has a music sheet for the Stardew Valley theme.
The "familiar zigzag" pattern shirt looks like a reference to Charlie Brown's shirts with those zigzags.
i was kind of surprised this didn’t come up in the video BUT the trucker hat is (or so i’ve heard) a reference to the eggscellent episode of regular show and while watching this video, linus’ dialogue at the spirits eve festival is also probably a reference to pops catchphrase
kent sends the recipe for crispy bass and that’s a jodi love. very similar to the pumpkin soup to sebastian
YOOO, I can’t believe I never noticed the turnip head thing! I’ve seen HMC at least 24 times
Owl House jumpscare lol, was not expecting that. Love your vids! ❤
Just me or does the skeleton top look like the outfits in MCR's Welcome to the Black Parade music video? Always thought it was a reference to that.
Cool video. I though the wizard's line might be from Lwaxana Troy😊 and Master Canolli statue was a reference to Obi Wan Canobi.
It's Kenobi
On number 76 if you marry Sam and you talk to him there is a chance that he will say “do ever think Abigail and Sebastian will hook up?” Or something along the lines of that
I was so socked to see kleptocats mentioned, that used to be my favorite game series
I'm not really sure, but I'll be damned if a pirate saying 'youch' is not a reference to the Monkey Island game series where Guybrush says youch everytime he gets hurt.
You forgot in Starbound game, you can play grandpas theme on any of the instruments
Okay the mermaid one is so cool! I think that might be my favorite out of all of them
5:10 I always thought that the secret of the moon was inspired by the old film by Georges Méliès titled Le Voyage dans la Lune. But I never thought that it could also be a reference to my little pony haha I really love mlp fim ♥
The cool thing is if you put green tea leaves in a keg,it makes tea within one day unlike when you make wine.
The Wizard's birthday, Winter 17, is on the 101st day of the year. I want to believe that it's a reference to Wizard101, a kid's MMORPG released in 2008, had its heyday in the 2010s, and is still going strong
Linus does not serve you survival burgers at the fair, it is Gus.
15:14 In the files there is a list of several location names.
7:44 you don't know that feeling when you watch this vid with your girlfriend and she recognizes this place being from her native region lol:D
The minecraft one is most likely wrong! It is closer to Terraria and there was a collab between SDV and Terraria, with the junimo pet in Terraria 4:29
I had never made the connection with Sebastian liking Flounder. I love it!
Stardew Fair festival also references the festival in Chrono Trigger, with the silver stars and test-your-strenght minigame.
a reference i think many people missed is that the description for the broken CD says "It's a JojaNet 2.0 trial CD. They must've made a billion of these things" which I'm pretty sure is a reference to America online and the amount of trial CDs they made
The sunflower thing is still right. A lot of people think they still follow the sun even after the flower reaches maturity.
the dolphin could be a reference to the dolphin emulator too
also I heard that pun with the urchin, "hiding themshellves" lol
4:39 EYE OF CTHULHU
my favourite easter egg is that by using an ancient doll in lava on level 100 of the mines, you get an item you can use at the wizard’s tower to get the Meowmere sword, which is a terraria reference!
There is one line from george where he says "O'h you're working on a farm. It's not much but I guess it's honest work." Or something like that.
8:30 and now in 1.6 he can also see you rummage through the trash at the desert festival
i've got 2 pet sea urchins who wear hats, one in my coral reef tank named Dave, who wears a fedora, and one alone in a modern tank wearing a sailor's cap, named skipper (who was a gift from krobus)
