A while back I put the gold Lewis statue in the Saloon, behind the counter. Apparently, Lewis won't confiscate the statue if it's inside a town building, so it's still on display! The whole town gets to see it every Friday. :)
Duly noted. I'm using this.
I put it the statue in an npcs way and they destroyed it, i lost it forever 💀

I started a new four corners farm this week and not only did I get a meteorite on night one, but it landed in the exact 2x2 spot to completely block off my south entrance until I get a gold pickaxe. I'm still reeling at the astronomical misfortune.
Saw another comment like this one. Might be a recurrent thing in the four corners farm lol

If I remember correctly, Four Corners has a lot of potential bottlenecks, so it may just be that it's easier to land in a bad spot on that farm by chance.

I don’t know how much of a secret it is but whenever you take your horse to the bus stop and go to the desert, when you come back a message pops up saying something like “your loyal horse patiently awaits your return” and I just think it’s so cute
"Horse has been wondering where you've been" sooo cute haha
I named my horse "bojack horseman". So basically the game says "Bojack horseman wondered where you have been" and I love it.

My favourite Easter egg that I dont see mentioned much is that Willy congratulates you and gives you a pearl if you have a fish pond with 10 crabs on your farm. I was about to get rid of them because they had only been giving me trash, when I accidentally triggered this on the way to ginger Island. So naturally my useless trash crustaceans have a free pass now.

I actually had the crop fairy on my very first night on a new game and I got so excited that it grew all my parsnips and potatoes that I called my mom XD

9:52 Actually, this carving is a coded message, just like the ones in the skull caverns! It says “Our ancestors came from the sky but made a new home beneath stone”, which confirms a theory made by M. Jasper (a mysterious character mentioned throughout the game) in a lost book, where he theorized dwarves are actually aliens that crashed down on earth and decided to stay in caverns due to it’s similarities to their home planet’s atmosphere, only to be ridiculed by his fellow researchers. Turns out he was right all along!

I also got it but me it was on the 2nd save, and I wasn’t sure if it was something I had on my first too or not. Well that clears that up lol 😅
You forgot to mention that the grave that Abigail builds for the monster that she kills to protect you in her 14 heart event is also marked with the symbol of yoba
this actually reminded me that there are new heart events with your spouse.
I like the fact that Marnie can take the gold Lewis statue. I kept stealing it from Lewis and putting it out until Marnie took it.
it's not really a secret but you can actually make more of Mayor Lewis's purple shorts by taking off your pants and put staircase in the slot instead. it'll glitch and create the purple short instead. so, you can complete the task but still able to have more. i have like 999 of them in my inventory lol.

When I first played this game 4 years ago I refrained to Google or watch to much tips videos like this one. Finding the junimo plush in the hidden notes or figuring the 3 statues out was so much fun! Of course by now I have completed the game multiple times. But the first playthrough was so magical. So much hidden in this game that first just seems to be a small farming game. But especially with 1.5 it got sooo much secrets and content.
That why I accidentally skipped all phase in stardew valley. I watch way too much this tips.

I propose that the fruit from which the world grew in the Book of Yoba is actually the melon.
1.) It's one of only THREE crops that can grow into a giant crop (which would be an especially fitting honor for a crop so important to the in-universe lore/religion)
2.) Unlike the tomato, it actually has a tough skin (assuming the in-game melon resembles real-life melons like cantaloupe and honeydew). Like the tomato, a (real-life) melon's skin can be peeled open by hand (even though it's tougher) and a (real-life) melon grows on vines (although this isn't terribly apparent of the in-game melon, since it's not trellised and is instead allowed to grow on the ground-- which is a viable option, as the heavy fruit would require very sturdy trellising and support slings which might not be available or practical, but having the fruits on the ground might leave them more vulnerable to pests and disease)
3.) While it DOES have a growth time of 12 days instead of 11, it's my understanding that the first day of the counter is the day while it's still a seed-- and that passage from the book of Yoba said that the seed sprouted AND THEN 11 days passed AFTERWARDS before it bore fruit
It's the crop shown growing on the title screen (where you choose to start a new game or load a save file), which, again, would be an especially fitting honor for a crop so important to the in-universe lore/religion (also-- new game is represented by the sprout/vine, load save is represented by the fruit itself, and, get this, multiplayer mode... is represented by THE EARTH... which always felt kind of out-of-place with the other option's thumbnails until I considered this interpretation)

Everyone mentions Abby's room having a Chrono trigger poster, but noone mentions Sebastian having a poster of Big Earl from Toejam and Earl in his room, and that makes me sad :(
Or the Ecco the Dolphin poster in Abby's room as well. *sigh*

@@salmence100 but chrono trigger is an old game XD Im an older millennial and I forget just how old we're actually getting. The team who made Toejam and earl did a remaster of their game called back in the groove! definitely appeals to the nostalgic crowd but worth a playthrough if you've never played it before :)

To be completely fair, the Book of Yoba also describes him “peeling off the tough skin”. Tomatoes are pretty gooey and peeling off the skin would lead to a mess, and idk if their skin can be described as tough. It’s more likely that it’s a type of fruit that doesn’t exist in the game yet, or in fact a completely fictional one.

I remember when the Stone Owl and Strange Capsule were so rare that people genuinely didn't know whether they actually existed as events/items in the game or were unused content lol
There's actually one very rare nightly event, which is the animal attack. Straight from the wiki, it says this: "After the player goes to sleep, any events that will happen during the night (such as Bundle events) are calculated as normal. If no events are due to occur, there will be a 50% chance that the game will attempt to start a wild animal attack event. If this event proceeds, the game will go through all buildings to find a barn or coop that has their doors closed and has animals left outside. For each building, the game takes a random number between 0 and 1 and compares it to 1/(the number of total farm buildings). If the random number is larger, the building is ignored. In other words, the more buildings the player has, the less likely that one will be attacked. For example, if the player has two farm buildings, each building has a 50% chance of being attacked, three buildings would give 33%, four would give 25% chance of being attacked, etc. Once a building has been chosen, the event takes the first animal stuck outside from that building to be the target of the attack. The animal will be removed from the game and in the morning, all other animals will have a mood message saying " looks stressed and paranoid today. It seems like something bad happened last night." Besides this message, the other animals are unaffected." Here's a video when how the animal attack happens alongside with a very creepy sounds that still makes me getting goosebumps..

Fun Fact: Back around 2011, CA was making the Wumbus comics. There are multiple references to these comics in the game. Including the '???' dolls, the movie, and the floating sun head, Yoba.
iirc Joja Cola is a reference to that comic series too

I was so lucky that I had a meteorite fall super early.... like late spring... and it dropped directly in front of the south entrance into the woods on the four corner map. I literally had to walk all the way around if I wanted to go south for like two whole seasons 😒

Dont forget Kent was also fed Sashimi and is a much hated item. Top 5 games of all time this Stardew is.

I just gave him sashimi for his birthday because cooked food is a universally liked item and his loved gifts are stupidly hard to acquire compared to other NPCs. Well fuck me for assuming he likes sliced fish like everyone else, including the children? :'(
You know its a good game if it has at least 50 hidden secrets.
I've been obsessively playing sdv for the past 2 years and thought I knew everything but still learned a lot from this. Another good one is turning on advanced crafting in the settings will show how many of each resource you have remaining while on the crafting screen, super helpful.
If you hit either an oak tree or maple tree in fall (i can't remember which) there is a chance for a hazelnut to drop at least on mobile
Yes, also on PC. But the chance isn't really worth shaking trees for IMO, it's like idk, one out of every 20 trees or something like that.
What’s crazy is no one’s noticed Yoba is just A boy backwards. Yoba is the dev, and the coding he had to jumble through was the fruit, his knowledge of it he was able to take the fruit and see the world - the world of stardew.
On my first two save files I got the crop fairy early game. Didn't know it was that rare!
I also got the Marnie thinking it was Lewis one on my first save file early game
i was keeping track of how many i knew, and i knew all of them.
700 hours of stardew was actually useful for something
I had the crop fairy show up on my playthrough and I only had one plant that I was growing. I was so happy to see it bloom that I actually wondered where the fairy was on my second playthrough and realised that apparently it's not programmed to happy every first week. Sadness.

What's wrong about the strawberries? I plant about 60 every spring year 1 and water it individually
On a rainy day I think once I opened Gus's trashcan and the lid flew off! It can be worn as a hat! Description: It's a garbage can lid 'upcycled' into a hat...( I don't know if it appears on rainy days but I think if you check every day each month it will eventually turn up.

Yeah, but it doesn't have to be a rainy day; every time you check a trash can after a certain amount of trash dives (I forget the exact number of trash searches needed) there's a small percent chance for the hat to appear. Even after getting one you still have unlimited chances of getting more! Still super rare, though.

The stone Junimo statue is one of my favorite easter eggs, and I get it every play through and place it somewhere random for my friends to find

Only the center tile of melon cauliflower or pumpkin needs to be grown to create a giant crop. You can have a melon surrounded by melon seeds and it could turn into a giant melon

I didn’t think much about it till I realized that not one but two owl statues spawned on my farm. Not only that but I got the alien capsule, and the ufo profit screen and the witch in the same day of playing

I got two stone owl events. The second one hid it in a secret path to grandpa's shrine on the forest farm. Very sneaky, I went days without finding it

new theory. Kent wasn't a prisoner of war, just got lost and didn't know the language. his "captors" kept trying to get rid of him but he was just too dense.

I've heard a theory that the warp totems were actually a torture device. Imagine being told you're free to go home, but if you do, something bad will happen to the rest of the prisoners. Not knowing if they'll let you live, thinking about your family back home, wanting to escape the hell of war, but choosing to stay to hopefully protect your friends... that's a hard choice. And I totally get the food ones. My great-grandfather served in Japan during WWII & refused to have rice in the house ever again due to the memories it brought back. A WWI veteran said he couldn't stand chocolate ever again as they were given bitter chocolate as part of their rations.
This game is just amazing. There are so many little surprises.
You can put Staircase into pants slot and it will turn into Lucky Gold Trimmed Purple Shorts.
I have Stone Owls fall on my farm like the rain I have no idea why :) It just attracts Stone Owls for some reason. Too bad I can't sell them :)

If you didn't know, there is a small chance that the trash can lid will fly off when you're digging through it, and you can wear it as a hat. It happened to me recently for the first time, and that's how I found out.
Funny thing is it happened to me in 2 of my worlds lol. And it's pretty rare too

I saw the scary thing walking at night between trees by bridge one night (30 play throughs and only saw it once) it actually really made me scream outloud

My sister got the stone owl event during her first spring when we got the game. I didn’t realise how lucky that was till now
Your spouse has a chance of changing the wallpaper and flooring in your house (not counting you basement)
Other tips:
If you still got 1.5, you can just use a staircase in your pants slot to get a copy of the purple shorts
You can use the out of bounds trick to get the iridium krobus statue on spring two year one.
One thing that's crazy, on my first playthrough I got the hanging wall basket twice in a row,my first time fishing in The secret Forest because I was going for the community center bundle
The junimo plush was my absolute favorite surprise, I got it like an hour ago and I couldn’t believe it, my boyfriend will love it when I show him later today :)

Me and my friend actually got the strange capsule around day 18 spring, year one. We also managed to get the stone owl day three. It was pretty funny. (This was on the standard farm on nintendo switch)

You can also get the necklace from the pond outside the spa. This is hinted in secret note 25

I've been playing Stardew Valley on my own (I'm on my 2nd year), but I left aside that game and started playing with my bf on another one. We're on winter year 1 and so far we got the meteorite, the owl statue and the fairy. I was so excited when I saw them but I didn't know they were so rare 😶
