It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, ........., won't you be mine, won't you be mine, won't you be my neighbor! Hahaha 😄. love Mr. Rogers! What a nice compliment to Ken!
Having a few years working in construction I find myself fascinated watching you guys work. If your wondering why a 75 year old man likes your videos it's seeing skills I never had. Great crew and videos.
I'm hoping for building material prices to come down and be accessable like they were only a few short years ago. The builders are the best at what they do from all the past builds. Really enjoyable to watch.
Hi Ken another day another Dollar how are you mate did you have a Xmas break I hope u did rest is all we need …I enjoy watching your Videos big Dan he’s a mountain of a man thanx for sharing stay safe ❤️❤️😀😀👍👍👍😢🦘🇦🇺
I've watched a ton of videos about the inside of peoples work trailers. I would be curious to see what you carry and what you don't carry. Because you are so specialized I imagine you know EXACTLY what you need and what can stay at the shop (most of the time). Once again, would love to see what you have in there....Greetings from Texas...John B.
So fun to see these time lapse videos! As always it goes up so fast! Nice view all around. Is this the one where they were using the Stiletto hammers? Nice job as always! Thanks for this Ken!
I wish I lived closer to where you are at Ken. We are moving in the spring, and I most likely will need a garage/workshop added to whatever we buy. I would love to give you my business.
The amount of time you’re trailer is parked before the job using solar panels on the roof charging all of the batteries 🔋 thence the job site. I think you can get the job done by solar on all your nailers, saws, drills. Just a thought. Not long before the first job of 2023. Thanks for your posting. Edit: no clouds 🌧️ on work day.
Hi Ken, inspiring videos and I’ve learned so much. Thank you! I’m going to start a two story gambrel style this spring, 30x52. Here in Montana (frost goes about 40” deep), do you think a slab would work or should I do footings and frost walls?
I could listen / watch all day. This is exactly the garage we are looking to build in the MN north woods. Just curious if the $27k cost is as it stands including your labor? I know costs may differ due to location, etc.
Good morning Ken. You state in the video this is from April 2022. Is the title of your video the cost as of Jan 2022 or 2023? Thanks and keep up the good work.
@@kenskarpentry By the way: i'm a music professor in elementary school in Argentina, nothing to do with building garages, but you makes me wanna takes the tools and "go for it"! I love your vídeos Ken! Cheers from Neuquén!
I’ve noticed you use a few different drones throughout your different videos. Is there any one in particular you like the most or that is easy to use for a beginner.
Do the clients handle all the prep work before you guys pour the concrete (leveling + compacting + gravel)? Or do you help with that? If the client needs site work done like septic or utilities, do you act as GC for that, or is the client responsible for everything pre-slab?
I can't believe they had you build that garage right in front of their 🏠 🫣 might just as well not have those two windows on the 🏠 you look right out into the garage.
Ken is like Mr Rodgers of construction. I could listen to him all day
Haha thanks for watching
Hahaha....that's true. He does have a rather soothing mannerism. Happy New Year everybody....

@@kenskarpentry I can appreciate that....
A nice compliment to the new house Ken.
Thanks
Keep the vids coming Ken!

Bummer thanks
Ken, I sure wish you were closer! I live just west of Rochester NY and want a 24x32x12 garage big enough for a two post car lift!
Bummer
Nice ken
Thanks

A lot of it depends on your ground drainage and type of material as well as local codes
If you build a post frame you won't have the expense of foundation.
I could listen / watch all day. This is exactly the garage we are looking to build in the MN north woods. Just curious if the $27k cost is as it stands including your labor? I know costs may differ due to location, etc.
Thanks for watching. That is materials and labor
Only $27k??? Are the contractors around me putting in 100% markup? I'm in SE New Hampshire
On your drone shot in the beginning, was there a rain drop on the lens or does it fuzzy face like google?
Hmmm I don’t know
👍🦈😎

The DJI mini series are good ones. Around $600. I bought a DJI Air2s a few months ago that is my favorite. Around $1,500 with “smart controller “.

Yes they do the site work
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇹🇷
That's a good price.
Thanks
Thanks Ken! How long does it take to get your permits in VT? Cheers!
Usually a week or two and $50 for the permit
Do you cut control joints in your slabs to control cracking?
Sometimes
Do you build in Northeast Ohio (Akron)?
Sorry that’s to far for us
I see that you don't put any floor drain in the garage, is that something deliberate or not?
They are not legal in Vermont
@@kenskarpentry just curious why that would be??
How are you fastening the bottom plate to the slab?
We use wedge anchors
How long are the wedge anchors
Does $27k include everything plus labor?
Yes it does
How many days from start to finish normally? Thx
Typically 1 to 2 weeks depending on the size
Is that $27k in materials, or $27k was your total bill to the client?
Materials and labor
Vg deal @ 27k
