- Today in Republican Spain we will be survivng the worst Spanish Civil War start we can have. Nothing will be going our way since our military will be in disarray, our Guardia's unloyal and we are running low on time.
However we will turn this around, we will stabilize our position, begin to pushback the nationalist rebellion and cause their fragile faction to fracture. Although in the shadows the POUM is making moves that could undermime the victory if they do not strike when the moment is right.

Coming to you this week from Belgium, it's been a welcome rest but there's still a show to run isn't there.
This run is what I originally expected to happen when I recorded Spain in late 2022, but then I worked on it and that resulted in the Victory Before 1937 and 21 Day videos. Funny how the biggest change to Spain's meta came about practically by chance.
Those gigachads holding the north against all odds and still getting saved by you without your effort!
Can we see a comprehensive guide for each side of the SCW? Like a 'Ultimate strategy for Carlist Spain'.
A good Spanish civil war challenge would to play on historical and observe until the anarchists rise up and tag switch to them to try and win
I (clearly) haven't watched all of the video so maybe it's already answered in the video but i wanna ask isn't the nationalist have a worse start if you do 0 focus since they will start only in the Balearic Islands?
You are technically correct, the best kind of correct. However I prefered to do the Republican's worst start instead, someone else can do that if they're up to the challenge.

Can you save AI Anarchist Spain as Anarchist Ethiopia via their focus? I tried few times, but I'm noob.
Just to check what Ethiopian focus "The Rif" does and how anarchist spain AI behave.
There’s a chance it’s one of those ahistorical/multiplayer focuses where you’re only ever going to use it to support an AI/player going that route

Zest just won the 4-way SCW in slightly over a year, while deliberately making a crap set-up, and starting worse than his enemies in both quantity and quality. Just goes to show hundreds of runs he had there, I guess

Hey Bubbles, I'm a Spain main player and I've got this strat I'd really like for you to test out. But before that, I have found out a thing as republican spain that grants you more political power.
In vanilla, regular difficulty, ironman, as republican spain, do not pick a starting focus. The game calculates this opportunity perfectly and you will get the spanish election event precisely 10 days after the focus would normally complete: you get the option to choose between doing popular front or great spain, and they get instant done. With the 10 days saved up, you will waste no time and be on the exact same focus pace as usual. But here's the kicker: a bug doesn't give you the "government power struggle" debuff which removes 10% political power gain from the election (february 16) to April 26, when Zamora is dismissed. This, with some good luck (you always and only doing concessions to the left, and the nationalists doing 1 suppress the strikes, which means no PP gains or losses) means that, instead of 30 PP you'd usually gain with the national spirit's debuff, you get 48 PP once the new president is elected. That's 18 PP you can use for a garrison in a couple of days.
Now moving onto the way simpler to explain strategy: It's not fast, let's put that clear immediately, but it is a safe route to the completion of all the republican spain focuses, which really helps you to start with decent garrison control (thanks to the political power granted by the latest focuses) and with a massive reduction of the nationalist army (less divisions = more possible encirclements and gaps in the initial frontlines.) Simply do not miss a single day in doing the prep to delay the civil war, by spamming concessions to the left (more PP) and whenever able political arrests (primo de rivera and the regular arrest). If you have spare PP you can also counter some garrison influence, but you usually do that later on, because otherwise you won't have enough to keep spamming the decision prep. It's focused mainly on finishing the focus tree and starting the civil war yourself by disbanding the army. That's also a free 200 PP you gain once you disband the army that's free to up your economy or get the political power guy in your cabinet.

This focus needs more generals and objetives. Maybe if you have the option for "absorb" the republican or anarchist generals, this way will have more sense for play

could you start off with an even worse start if you delay the war with concessions to the left / other decisions? thus giving the nationalists more time to take states?
Probably but then it's pushing goalposts again, which I'm going to avoid.
