Such a great demonstration! Very useful thanks Jannis, just what I needed to see
Thanks a lot Iain! Really glad to hear that it was helpful to you 😊
Good video mate. The perFOURmer is really a BEAST!
Thank you! And yes, it absolutely is a beast!
Best Perfoumer tutorial by far!
Thank you so much, I'm really glad it was helpful!
Very helpful! Thanks!
Glad you liked it 💚
Had to come back an watch this one a second time since my new Perfourmer arrived yesterday. Was able to get one of afew available machines just by chance. So happy, waited almost 2 years to get one.
Brilliant tutorial. Your Vermona playlist is very helpful for starting my Perfourmer journey. Thank you for your efforts.
That's so amazing to hear that you finally got your hands on one! I sometimes check if they are available, and they never are. I'm really glad I got mine shortly before they always seemed out of stock. Wishing you lots of fun, and also thanks for letting me know that my content is helpful 🤗 Enjoy the Perfourmer!
I learned how to play this instrument from your videos. They're so helpful, thank you!
I‘m so glad to hear that my videos were helpful! Thanks for the warm comment 🤗
I see this video once a week. Bc im weak. Great job! Thank you
Thank you, so glad you find it helpful! Repetition is so important
- I think you'll improve way more from digging into one video instead of checking 10 gear reviews a day ;)
Thanks very much for this!! I learnt more from this that from reading the manual!! Thanks again! Ric 😎
Really happy to hear, thank you 🙏
So happy you did this video! I recently started working with a Perfourmer & will unreservedly admit I've been a little (well, maybe more than a little) lost among the layers of knobs. Thank youuuuuuuuuu!
Hey Neil! Thanks so much for the nice comment! It can look rather intimidating indeed, haha, but I'm glad my video could help clarifying! Wishing you lots of fun with it, such a great instrument!
Great stuff. Love this synth
Thanks, love it as well 💚
Great presentation, thank you!
Thank you, really glad it was helpful!
The modulation is insane.
Yes, I really love it as well!
Great video! I'd imagine the reason there are LO and HI settings on the OCTAVE selector (which always produce the same pitch, adjustable via the TUNE knob) is for FM, when you often want the modulator frequency to be the same, regardless of what note you've played. Setting it to one of the numbered octave modes will result in the modular frequency changing as you play different notes.
Thanks for the comment! And yes, this is one of the reasons for the HI/LO settings!
Great video thank you.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I'd love to have this synth, it's got a great tone to it and super fast envelopes. Thanks for the good walkthrough, I have a bad case of GAS now
Haha, I didn’t intend to cause GAS with this video- but I would say that the Vermona definitely delivers value, so you don’t have to feel bad!
that machine is basically what I wanted the analog four to be. with knobs.
Never tried the Analog Four, but it surely gives you direct access to everything! No double functions or clicking around :)
You can get a fader fox pc12 and map a lot of the parameters from different tracks from the A4.I have both the A4 and the Vermona, and with a bit of work the A4 can sound close.
wanted to be, but it unfortunately isnt. I personally think is basically impossible to get that sound on the A4. The A4 is a great machine, but way faraway from the juicy, butter like sound of the PERfourmer unfortunately...
@@AntonioAlemanno_music is possible to get close in some patches, but theres some stuff the perfourmer can do and the A4 can't, and vice versa ofc and I think one of the strengths of the perfourmer relatively to the A4 are its snappy envelopes.
@@DubFreakuencies indeed, there are certain things that the A4 is better at and other where the PERfourmer is better. Though looking at the pure sound engine, in my opinion the PERfourmer is on another level, full of sweet spots basicaly anywere and low end. On the versatility, LFO, size and live performance, the A4 it's extremely cool. But I'm still new to both machines I must say
🙂Thanks. Your Performer asked me if you were going to buy it end cheeks for Xmas?!
Thank you for this Jannis! you seem to be a real expert on this device. 1 question: I see only one envelope. Do i understand that the filter envelope is the same as the amp envelope? or is there a way to select/distinguish between both?
Thanks for the warm words 💚 And yes, you're right. There is only one envelope that will be shared. But you can switch the amplitude envelope to a gate mode. In that case you have 2 separate envelopes, yet of course limited capabilities with that Gate envelope. Or you can also leave the gate open, having a constant tone.
Very useful video, thank you @Jannis ! I was wondering if there's a way to have volume or pan as LFO destination?
Thank you 💚 you can't directly modulate the volume- you would need to come up with a concept of modulating the filter in a comparable way.
@@JannisLeWolff thank you for your prompt reply! Very much appreciated. Yes, I've figured you can't modulate either volume or panning. That should be probably something easy to fix with an external sequencer or synth through CV connection.
Thanks' Jannis, this video, is super helpful, very clear and concise, have watched most of your videos, along with others, I've just received my perfourmer, read the manual several times, but your walk-thru has enlightened me, I've already a mono Moog Sirin, similar, but the Vermona is on steroids :-)
Hey Kevin, thank you for the nice comment! I’m really glad the video was helpful to you 😊 and I’m wishing lots of fun exploring the Perfourmer. And yes, the steroid comparison is definitely adequate 😊
Great Video! One Question, Do you know if it responds to the sustain pedal? I can´t get it with mine... Thanks!
Thank you 💚 As far as I know you can't connect a sustain pedal- the envelope has to be controlled with the ADSR. I don't know what could be done through the CV/Gate input though.

Hey, danke dir!
Does it matter if you use balanced cables to send from each individual output to a different effects pedal? All of mine are in a balanced patch bay. Thanks
I don't have much experience with effect pedals tbh. But if you have balanced cables anyways everything should work just fine.
06:00 monophonic diatonal?
Do you know what the differences are between the PERfourMER MKII and PERfourMER MKII CV/Gate? thx
The CV/Gate version allows you to integrate the Perfourmer into a modular setup, so it can receive CV and Gate signals through inputs on the back, while the "normal" version can't be expanded/connected with other modular gear.
Just got my perfourmer mkII and found the first part (the one on top) generates no sound. EG never lit up and all I hear is a weak click. Gate mode does not work either. Osc works fine as I hear it. I am new to this. Is there something I should check before deeming it broken? Thanks for the nice tutorial and any advice!
Hey Curt! Thanks for your comment. Do you get a better sound when you're using synth 2, 3 or 4 with exactly the same settings that you have on the first synth?
@@JannisLeWolff turns out that i plug one of the main out cable to gate input 1 by mistake... Every thing is fine now. Such a great sounding synth!
@@curtc6563 Perfect- glad to hear that it works now 😊 wishing you a lot of fun with it!
Can you recommend a desktop stand for the per4mer?
I don’t have a special one- I once tried to put it on my laptop stand and it was a perfect fit, haha. Ever since I’m using it like this.
Laptop stand from IKEA fits perfectly...
