Totally agree Phil regarding painting over varnish. I've not found a primer yet Inc BIN that can be easily chipped or scratched right back to the varnish even 2-3 years of curing later. Phil, I have got this system for my house renovation, I will be using it on previously varnished wood skirtings and door frames (oil probably as its over 15 years) which the previous owner did, bedec say use the Allprime on wood surfaces which has knots which I do but not many, I also have grain patterns that are darker in the varnish which I want to block. All prime will also be the grip primer, how many coats of the primer do I need, does it have to be completely white before I move on to the Aqua Advanced system or will the primer from the Aqua system cover the rest.
