"So... the reason they're used, is because... and I feel like the younger, more stupid audience won't get this... I mean it's pretty obvious for me, and I will tell you. Wait, one second, did you first share this video to all your friends? You did? Or not? I'll give you a minute to do that. Like, literally a minute, or two. Okay so the reason is... did I mention I have a patreon? If you wan't more videos where I explain these mysteries, please make sure to support me. Also please like and subscribe! So back to the reason. Gengar. Gengar is the final evolution of Gastly. And in between that there's Haunter. They are ghost Pokémon, but also poison! Once we saw Gastly doing weird stuff in the anime. And Haunter was used by a spirit trainer once in the game. We also know that Gengar exists in the Pokédex, which I can prove here by this picture of Gengar's Pokédex-entry. So why these two? It's hard to say, even though it's extremely obvious. It's like super-obvious, but also a mystery. So much of an obvious mystery, that you could almost say that I'm not sure. Okay so please remember to like my page on facebook, buy a t-shirt and follow me on tumblr to get more of this amazing content."
I had to scroll down into comments because I thought I was having a brain hemorrhage while watching this vid and missed something. This comment explains what this channel is all about very well :P
"The answer is easier than you may think." Apparently not because I didn't get a clear answer out of that other than "The developers might like it." What?
+Everett Logan Exactly; nothing but opinions and rumors. "Subjective evidence" lmao, what a way to twist words to make it sound like it holds any merit.
+Chris Nolan Yeah but keep in mind that the Anime came after the games, meaning the fight on his TV was animated after the scene had already been conceived on the Gameboy
Q: Why is Gengar vs Nidorino the first battle? "I instantly had the answer" Uhh, all you said was that Gengar was one of several pokemon that were used on the original packaging. You didn't offer any explanation for Nidorino either. Why them and not Pikachu or any of the starters? If you don't know the answer to the question, don't make a video where you provide no evidence and don't even get close to helping anyone.
I think the answer is way simplier: *Marketing*. Gengar it's a simple design, but memorable, and so it's very suitable for marketing purposes. On the other hand, Nidorina looks a lot like a animal, meantime Gengar looks a little odd. So with those two pokemon you accomplish: having a simple but memorable design (gengar) and remembering people these creatures are actually animals (nidorina). Or maybe the answer is even simplier: random pick.
"These pokemon were chosen because they would be popular in games years or even decades into the future". You could just NOT make the video if you don't know. This is some grade A clickbait.
This would be a rendition of Agatha and Oak for those looking for why they chose Nidorino and Gengar. Agatha uses Gengar and Oak uses Nidorino. There saved you 5 min.
I heard in the original Pokemon red & blue & green in 1995-1996 when released in Japan before it was released worldwide normal type attacks worked on ghost type so that could explain why gengar uses scratch and nidorino using tackle
+Alucard8131988 lol yeah plus I could have sworn they had a flashback in the manga or if not a flashback it was professor oak in disguise. something like that
I bet it's secretly because Gengar used the most black pixels and Nidorino used the most white. Due to the color limitations on the GameBoy Pocket, these two seemed like polar opposites aesthetically.
"The answer is Obvious!" *rambles for five minutes and then* "I dunno, maybe the devs liked Gengar and I don't have a clue about Nidorino. Sorry. PEACE OUT."
The Answer is the Developers liked those Pokemon and those Pokemon have been used a number of times not only in the Alpha and Beta development, but in the Manga's as well. Sorry for the spoiler but people are missing the point int he comments, sorry if I mislead anyone. Thanks.
Dogmex He means spoilers for the video. I'd say it's a saving grace that people who read this comment don't have to watch the video, but proto would likely disagree because he thinks he did a good job on this video and some people just don't get it.
movelea The real point is there is no evidence to point to anything and say "YEP THATS WHY", the developers never said it was from the manga, the alpha, beta, never said they liked those Pokemon or not, they just never did. So to say I am wrong because of this evidence over here, its subjective evidence, if it was fact and developers said, yes its this, then fuck yeah I'd make a video saying I fucked up. But as always with subjective evidence it seems likely and may not be.
+ProtoMario I just watched the video and finished wondering if you actually gave an answer or not. I think the dislike count is ample evidence to suggest videos script was unclear on what was being asked or what was being answered. It's not something I would down vote you on, but I guess this is something you can learn from. Otherwise great video.
So what you're telling me, is in the entire 5 min video you talked about answearing that, worked out a little bit of what could be the answear, and then just straight up didint answear it, and left us hanging. So. Why does this video exist? This coulda be a facebook question at best.
Agreed. I don't feel as if he truly answered anything. The Gengar on the box was info that could have easily been found (or was known if you owned Red). I was disappointed in this.
lol exactly my thoughts. "I'm gonna answer why these are the Pokemon." -wastes five minutes of viewers' lives- "I really don't know why. But share my video!"
+Serjo777 If he does not put that disclaimer the Big Companies like Nintendo will take down all his videos like what they did with Smosh and the Pokémon parody video so the disclaimer stays.
+Lance Vance Nope, the "disclaimer" does not help in any way. It is exactly the same as those people that post on their Facebook walls "I do not give Facebook permission to use my personal information etc. etc.". Completely pointless, doesn't do a thing. That said, if he wants to put that in his video it's his choice.
I have a theory! I think that the battle between Nidorino and Gengar is Agitha's and Samuel Oak's last battle before he became a pokemon professor because in Pokemon Red and Blue the first Pokemon he shows you is his Nidorino! BOOM!
D-do you even know what a theory is? Even by the completely bastardized use of the word theory, this video doesn't qualify. You don't give an answer, at all. You just provide a bunch of random facts. You don't even propose any reason as to why those facts are important to the question. You're just blabber on and on about "Nidorino this, Gengar that." There are countless toys and promotional images for several other Pokemon as well. All of these decisions happened before anybody knew about Pokemon. You were almost onto something with the box art, but you didn't look into it as far as you should have. Gengar, Cubone, Pikachu, and Snorlax are all on the box art for the same reason, because they are special. Why are they all special? Because they have something very important in common. They are all beloved not only by the fans of the Pokemon universe, but also the creators themselves. In fact, Ken Sugimori has gone on record saying that Gengar is his favorite Pokemon. And there's evidence to the others being special too in that they are all given extra attention. Cubone is popular because of its sad and creepy PokeDex entry. Pikachu can only be caught in Viridian Forest, and is pretty rare in that area as well, and while being a fairly good Pokemon psychology tells us that we value things we work for more than those that are easy to acquire. Snorlax is a one-time encounter that you have to go through to finish the game making him universally memorable. Nidorino and Jigglypuff aren't quite as memorable as those other 4, but they don't have to be, when we're talking about what's happening before the release of the game, we're talking about what was important to the game designers. Considering that Nidoran(male) was the third Pokemon ever designed, and Nidoking followed shortly after being the seventh it's safe to say that the whole Nidoran line is a favorite among Ken Sugimori, and his fellow developers. The only outlier now is Jigglypuff. A theory is a comprehensive explanation of a phenomenon or phenomena that is based on observations, and supported by evidence. Your video does not provide a coherent explanation, and therefore there cannot be any evidence that supports it. You don't even have a hypothesis. You're literally just drawing attention to facts. Theories and hypotheses EXPLAIN facts.
+MysteriousOne1616 rock ground really isn't that bad, it's a strong offensive typing in the current generation, & was very good in the original games since normal attacks & thunder wave were both dominant then
Marcusjnmc I guess with two very offensive types. I just never really respected Rock-type in the Kanto region, mostly because I could always dose them with my Blastoise, plus I found out about their many weaknesses which shocked me badly. 4x to both Grass and Water does give me a very good picture. (I'm a Gen 3 guy, just to let you know)
MysteriousOne1616 :P in game you can beat the rock type with the fire type, ik before gen 3 gave charmander metal claw I used to use ember to beat brock by hitting the weaker special stat for 3hkos, how easy things are to sweep through in game isn't usually a good indicator of how strong a pokemon is, though post gen 1 rock types lost a lot of their appeal with the steel type becoming the dominant defensive typing either rhydon or golem were on almost every competitive team in gen 1, blastoise I don't think was used much at all, it only really threatened rhydon/golem & they could easily switch out to things like chansey or exegguttor, gen 3 had skarm/bliss as its defensive core though with umbreon & suicune around too, but rhydon still saw some use competitively as it still hit hard, though it was used much more rarely.
Marcusjnmc I almost forgot about Metal Claw. Ya, sweeping really doesn't show the strength; I'm just not competitive, so I would not know all that stuff like Blissey's bulky defense or any of that crap (Though Boldores recently have been a pain in my ass)
So this is a five minute video with no actual reason why Gengar and Nidorino? Because they have roles in the anime? They made the anime after RBY, so that can't be the reason.
I think it is because of the battle of Professor Oak and Agatha for the champion. Agatha had the gengar. Oak has his own Nidorino because he didn't have a stone to evolve it
Gengar vs Nidorino must be a battle between Agatha and Oak from back in the day, right? Could've been the decisive battle that crowned Oak as the Champion.
Just objectively, I'm watching this video and it took you 4 minutes to not even come to a definitive conclusion. There is also information you didn't explore - at all. What pokemon were used during early development stages? What about the manga which has a completely separate plot from the anime? What about the order in which pokemon were created (hint: it differs from the pokedex order enormously)? Which pokemon were intended to originally be the starter(s) (hint: Jigglypuff was one of them)? I think you could have done a much better job compiling information. You clearly have the video editing capability to put together a lot of information, and yet this video sounds like you tried to wing an oral project in class were up to 3 am the previous night playing video games and not working on the presentation.
You should also do a video on the subject. like Lj jammin said above, I found out before Proto put up this video actually, a lot of old concept art for Pokemon back when it was still Pocket Monsters had Gengar and Nidorino (even when they still had mixed design elements from eventual other Pokemon) bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Capsule_Monsters
Misleading video I think anyone could come up with that. Most viewers probably thought there was a "backstory" within the game. Just stating the obvious that they are popular Pokemon
Let me go through your reasons: Gengar: 1 because it WILL be very important later on. Awesome reason for it to get special treatment in the first ever game. 2 because it is on the box. Uhm, actually what you said about this exactly does NOT explain Gengar. All the others are major story line parts with Gengar being the only one on the box for no obvious reason. To me that's a question, not an answer. (although Pikachu, too, only got its popularity after the release of the anime and Pokemon yellow...) Jigglypuff: again, you cannot explain special treatment in the FIRST EVER game by popularity gained later. Nidorino: 1 same thing AGAIN. 2 you don't know. Great, so we're in the same boat here. Except I'm not making a video about stuff I don't know.
I think Nidorino was chosen because it looks cool and was one of the first pokemon capable of being fully evolved. Also, it's very common when it comes to NPC'S. Maybe the fact that it needs a moon stone to evolve like Clefable, the Pokémon Gengar is said to be the shadow of.
so your answere to this question is that the developers liked gengar and he was on the box and a bunch of idk maybe theories of why nidorino.... way to waste my time
Might be the idea that the player will be amazed when they catch a Nidorino and see it evolve into a Nidoking as not to spoil such a great moment. as well with Gengar, he looking different then glastly and hunter it might be a reverse of the Nidoking idea. So people will get a Haunter and be shocked when they see it does infact evolve into a Gengar from the opening scene. Only other thing i can think of is maybe Nirdorino and Gengar wore used as promotion pokemon in japan or for certain gamefreak ads/commercials so they became a little more known before Pokemon released in the US.
+Eyal Oged And yet someone could post a video on youtube, get almost 75,00 views, a bunch of likes and probably make a good chunk of money out of it and have it be the most useless thing ever with no answer or relevant information.
Okay so I think the answer is much simpler and explains both Gengar and Nidorino. Open a new UA-cam tab and search for the 1st episode of the Indigo League: "I Choose You". Skip to 1:07 and watch the Gengar/Nidorino fight. After Nidorino is quickly defeated, you'll see his trainer call him back, but he's just a silhouette. It should be pretty obvious by the shape of this trainer and more notably his hair, that this is Bruno of the Elite Four. Since he's battling a Gengar, it seems safe to assume that he's battling Agatha. It's an Elite Four showdown.
Ok ,Proto, I've been playing Pokemon for years, and Iove watching your theories, but this was a bad video.Like really bad.And I'm not saying that to be rude or mean-spirited, I say that because I know you can and have made way better videos than this. And correct me if I'm wrong, but the thing about Jigglypuff being a main character in Smash Bros., I'm pretty sure Pokémon came out before Smash Bros.Again, correct me if I'm wrong about that, which I probably am.But I say all this not to be rude, but to tell you that can and have done better than this.Sorry,I rambled on.
nc video. but why people make things complicated? hmmm... i think in simple terms, they put gengar and nidorina because they want it. that's it! done. haha by the way GOdlbless! ^^
0:32 "Because the answer is more simple than you might think..." And yet you have no idea whatsoever. I'm joining the 2,078 dislikes. Come back when you have actual ideas.
This video was kinda.. Boring. When you said something in the beginning about "I know why they chose these Pokémon" I was expecting some clever reasoning behind it, not just "the devs clearly like Gengar a lot, and idk about Nidorino."
I just came across this video and am not sure if anyone brought this up but there is a story behind this battle. It's supposed to be the battle between Oak and Agatha for the title of champion. Those events transpired before the meteors fell on Mt. Moon, meaning mood stones were not readily available. Because of that, Oak could neither evolve his nidorano or jigglypuff, which is why pokemon that aren't fully evolved appear in a champion battle. Oak ultimately won and became the champion and Agatha took a position as an elite four member. This is also why the email about the gathering of strong trainers can be read on the PC in Oaks lab. He use to be a world class trainer and they were inviting him back for the new challenge against the pokemon league.
look on the cover of the Capsule Monsters book. You can see 2 pokemon that are similar to gengar and nidorino battling it out. I'm assuming they remade the 2 pokemon on the cover and replicated the battle for the Red and Blue intro.
+Paquimex Actually a view is only calculated if it's watched about 50% of the video. (It can vary depending on the video between as low as 25% and as high as 70%)
Professor Oak owned Nidorino. Agatha owned Gengar. It was a flashback of the good old days. Ash saw a rerun of a classic battle between two childhood friends in the anime. ;)
The reason for Nidorino its cuz 1- Its the Pokemon Oak shows you and 2- Thats the battle between Agatha and Oak
It took you 5 and a half minutes to tell us Gengar is popular and you don't know about Nidorino..
lol
I know right. this was dumb
Actually, it took him 4.5 minutes. The last minute was him asking us to continue to support this garbage speculation and give him money.
"So... the reason they're used, is because... and I feel like the younger, more stupid audience won't get this...
Love this comment
I had to scroll down into comments because I thought I was having a brain hemorrhage while watching this vid and missed something.
This comment explains what this channel is all about very well :P
yeah pretty accurate. lol
Thanks. Now I don't have to watch vid xD
I got really excited when I saw this video...only to be very disappointed in the end. Buddha B pretty much summed it all up in this comment lol
"The answer is easier than you may think."
Apparently not because I didn't get a clear answer out of that other than
"The developers might like it."
What?
+Everett Logan
Exactly; nothing but opinions and rumors.
"Subjective evidence" lmao, what a way to twist words to make it sound like it holds any merit.
+Beanjuice the video is literally titled "theory"
Chris Chandler Yes I see that -- but to call something subjective evidence...Just say they're rumors and stop trying to make it sound factual.
... Clickbait that basically just said "lol idk" and then the rest of the video telling him to give him money.
Clickbait + Panhandling; what will the degenerates think of next?
I know the answer, it's the fight happening on ashes tv when he's told to go to bed on the first seen of the series
Oh I'm watching the video and they just said it
+Chris Nolan Yeah but keep in mind that the Anime came after the games, meaning the fight on his TV was animated after the scene had already been conceived on the Gameboy
+Santi hadn't thought of that. I imagine that they are probably just cool Pokemon lol
The original concept art had an Early Gengar fighting an Early Nidorino along with other thing like shops
+Lj jammin You beat me to it.
+Lj jammin Gengar looked more like a Drowzee back then
+Lj jammin Yup. bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Capsule_Monsters
Moonman To be entirely fair, a lot of early Pokemon were each the inspiration behind a lot of final designs.
+Lj jammin And they turned into Tyranitar vs Feraligatr! or something like that.
Q: Why is Gengar vs Nidorino the first battle?
"I instantly had the answer"
Uhh, all you said was that Gengar was one of several pokemon that were used on the original packaging. You didn't offer any explanation for Nidorino either. Why them and not Pikachu or any of the starters? If you don't know the answer to the question, don't make a video where you provide no evidence and don't even get close to helping anyone.
exactly . i was waiting for the answer as if proto was the all knowing poke god . but then he doesnt even give us a hint. damnit proto!!!!
+Brock Samson But there was no solid theory provided... just ancillary information and baiting for likes and shares. This was a terrible video.
You could have just said "I don't know" we wouldn't have judged you.
4:08 "If you're still signed-in..."
Nope, I signed-out half way through the video!
"These pokemon were chosen because they would be popular in games years or even decades into the future".
You could just NOT make the video if you don't know. This is some grade A clickbait.
I think that's close to the real reason. The original team thought they looked the coolest.
Who the hell would watch this video then decide that it deserved a thumbs up?
So this is the video: ''There is more to it!!!!! ....But I actually have absolutely nothing to back any of this up so take some random speculation''.
+nintendokings that's everyprotomario video though...
Yeah, I'm not sticking around
So the video sums up to "I dunno".
lol
every video of protomario
+Arie El Salvador lol true
This would be a rendition of Agatha and Oak for those looking for why they chose Nidorino and Gengar.
Agatha uses Gengar and Oak uses Nidorino.
There saved you 5 min.
thxs still watched it all good video !!
ProtoMario Agree!
I heard in the original Pokemon red & blue & green in 1995-1996 when released in Japan before it was released worldwide normal type attacks worked on ghost type so that could explain why gengar uses scratch and nidorino using tackle
Thought Agatha vs Oak as well
ProtoMario Thanks:)
So what did we learn today? Not to come back to this channel.
saved me 5 minutes, thank you
Agreed
😂😂😂😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
+Jake Mitchell I was to late
Omg yassss xD
It isn't because those are the pokemon that Agatha and Professor Oak used to face each other?
I agree with this gen 0 seems to indicate as much this seems more like a oak and Agatha battle
You know what's up
+Alucard8131988 lol yeah plus I could have sworn they had a flashback in the manga or if not a flashback it was professor oak in disguise. something like that
This intro existed before any of the anime. If anything, it was retconned to be that.
You get a dislike for a clickbait headline without a real answer
"The answer is simple, and I know it."
*Proceeds to confuse release orders and comes to a non-conclusion*
"Don't forget to share!"
Giovanni's Nidorino Vs Agatha's Gengar. :p
I bet it's secretly because Gengar used the most black pixels and Nidorino used the most white. Due to the color limitations on the GameBoy Pocket, these two seemed like polar opposites aesthetically.
That sounds reasonable...
but it could be two white Pokemon
+Shawnawesomeer But that's racist.
Lmfao wtf kind of "theory" was that.
I think Nidorino is there since it's using the same Color Palette as Gengar, and the Gameboy hardware was only capable of displaying 1 palette?
Oh yeah, maybe. Because the colors of them is easier to display
Don't "answer" a question saying you "know the answer" if it's basically an idk smh
"The answer is Obvious!" *rambles for five minutes and then* "I dunno, maybe the devs liked Gengar and I don't have a clue about Nidorino. Sorry. PEACE OUT."
So after 5 1/2 minutes, the consensus was "idk"....what a waste. There was literally no point in watching this.
Leave you a like for what? You haven't done anything, you even state you don't know! Why make this video
I think he thought this was funny and not what it actually was, a complete waste of his and our time.
Yeah this was very disappointing.
to make you brain dead sheep think. duh.
The Answer is the Developers liked those Pokemon and those Pokemon have been used a number of times not only in the Alpha and Beta development, but in the Manga's as well. Sorry for the spoiler but people are missing the point int he comments, sorry if I mislead anyone. Thanks.
+ProtoMario The manga came after the original games. We get it, you just did an awful job of baking up your claims in this video.
+ProtoMario What spoilers? They like the pokemon? That's a spoiler? Ok then... moving on...
Dogmex He means spoilers for the video. I'd say it's a saving grace that people who read this comment don't have to watch the video, but proto would likely disagree because he thinks he did a good job on this video and some people just don't get it.

Morty? M-morty, you're a Pokemon trainer now Morty.
+Riolu I played that in my head perfectly lol
"The answer is very simple"...
fails to give an answer at all

lol exactly my thoughts. "I'm gonna answer why these are the Pokemon." -wastes five minutes of viewers' lives- "I really don't know why. But share my video!"
I thought this represented a battle between Oak and Agatha.
That's only a theory
+Jamie Bradish It's a better theory than this one, in my opinion at least
+Hermit the Fast I'd agree
I'd have to agree, I think the opening battle is Agatha vs Oak.
Can you please stop with that incredibly annoying disclaimer at the end that won't help you in ANY WAY when it actually comes to a copyright problem?
+Serjo777 No
ProtoMario
How about yes?
+Serjo777 If he does not put that disclaimer the Big Companies like Nintendo will take down all his videos like what they did with Smosh and the Pokémon parody video so the disclaimer stays.

I think that the battle between Nidorino and Gengar is Agitha's and Samuel Oak's last battle before he became a pokemon professor because in Pokemon Red and Blue the first Pokemon he shows you is his Nidorino!
BOOM!
I'd buy that.
Where exactly did you answer the question
This video was as unfulfilling as Ancient Aliens
maybe it's a tribute to gen 0, where they are showing us a past fight between Agatha and Oak (before the timeline of the games)
D-do you even know what a theory is? Even by the completely bastardized use of the word theory, this video doesn't qualify. You don't give an answer, at all. You just provide a bunch of random facts. I think that it is a showing of OAk vs Agatha
+Adam Jones In the anime, it looks like Bruno, hence the Onix. Nidorino is sort've an oddball for his team however.
Yellow's intro is completely different from Red, Blue, and Green's.
Golem needs more love. He's so cool :'(
+TheGoldenDunsparce True, but his typing stinks, along with most of the rock pokemon in Gen 1

It was an interesting question that I never thought of, before. But I really wish you had prepared a better answer than "I don't know".
So this is a five minute video with no actual reason why Gengar and Nidorino? Because they have roles in the anime? They made the anime after RBY, so that can't be the reason.
Damn Proto, back at it again with the Pokemon Theories
Quick Fact : Jigglypuff in the anime is actually shiny.
I think it is because of the battle of Professor Oak and Agatha for the champion. Agatha had the gengar. Oak has his own Nidorino because he didn't have a stone to evolve it
+Thomas Filsinger I though of the same thing.
+Thomas Filsinger saw this theory somewhere else a few days ago...i prefer that theory
You literally kept restating things over and over...
Gengar vs Nidorino must be a battle between Agatha and Oak from back in the day, right? Could've been the decisive battle that crowned Oak as the Champion.
The intro is different in Pokémon Yellow, there is no battle, just Pikachu running towards you, and doing random shit
Yellow?? In yellow is Pikachu ~ =_____=
You realize most of your "reasonings," like how jigglypuff has running roles in the anime, etc, don't matter right? The anime was after the games.

A very interesting look!
Gamefreak Office
ey guys im gonna make an animation for the game which pokemon ı should use?
A: nidorino
B: use gengar too
okey
gengar fucked nidorina... nidorino got mad... simple
blew my mind
People talk as if the anime came first... the games were first and the anime was an after thought.
i never thought about it back then honestly. i just wanted to play the game
no purpose in making this video. you have no idea what you're talking about here
Misleading video I think anyone could come up with that. Most viewers probably thought there was a "backstory" within the game. Just stating the obvious that they are popular Pokemon
Just stating the obvious that they're popular Pokemon is not a theory FYI
great stuff proto, once again showing why you are one of the best
Let me go through your reasons:
Gengar: 1 because it WILL be very important later on. Awesome reason for it to get special treatment in the first ever game.
2 because it is on the box. Uhm, actually what you said about this exactly does NOT explain Gengar. All the others are major story line parts with Gengar being the only one on the box for no obvious reason. To me that's a question, not an answer. (although Pikachu, too, only got its popularity after the release of the anime and Pokemon yellow...)
Jigglypuff: again, you cannot explain special treatment in the FIRST EVER game by popularity gained later.
Only other thing i can think of is maybe Nirdorino and Gengar wore used as promotion pokemon in japan or for certain gamefreak ads/commercials so they became a little more known before Pokemon released in the US.
you didn't ever say why...
I always thought they chose Nidorino because it's a perfect example of what a Pokémon is.
I think they picked them because they're all pink\purple and those are the colors the gameboy could make
Retro Rikardo
hm I'm happy I nailed it xD
+Eyal Oged And yet someone could post a video on youtube, get almost 75,00 views, a bunch of likes and probably make a good chunk of money out of it and have it be the most useless thing ever with no answer or relevant information.
Sigma_BarkSA
LOL ikr that's exactly what I was thinking after the video
it didn't feel repetitive or stupid it just felt empty
Its all too easy to get them sweet sweet youtube bucks. Makes me sick xD
Sigma_BarkSA
haha yeah ikr all you need is nice editing
Thank you for the "God bless" part at the very end.
my theory was always it was a battle between Agitha and Oak.
That has to be
+ Dylan Evans
Great theory my friend.
I haven't watch you in like a year dude! Awesome video
You explained that jigglypuff is in the first battle because of future appearences? that is not really an explanaition
Beginning of video: I instantly knew the answer.
End of video: well maybe this, maybe that.
But proto u never explained
What if Ash and Red were the same age seeing as they watched the same video of Gengar vs Nidorino???
theres no actual theory in this video. okay then.
yeah, proto! your Pokemon theories are the best
Dude said he knew the answer. just spouted bullshit and avoided nidorino.
This doesn't prove anything. Most of the points you used stem from long after Pokemon Red and Blue came out, which makes them automatically invalid.
my theory is that its a battle between oak and agathe
Generation Zero confirmed.
I like that
thank god someone answers rationally
Okay so I think the answer is much simpler and explains both Gengar and Nidorino. Open a new UA-cam tab and search for the 1st episode of the Indigo League: "I Choose You". Skip to 1:07 and watch the Gengar/Nidorino fight. After Nidorino is quickly defeated, you'll see his trainer call him back, but he's just a silhouette. It should be pretty obvious by the shape of this trainer and more notably his hair, that this is Bruno of the Elite Four. Since he's battling a Gengar, it seems safe to assume that he's battling Agatha. It's an Elite Four showdown.
what if it's a battle between Agatha and Oak?
it is, for sure!
Oak has a Nidoqueen/Nidoking
my stars and garters you may be correct!
I thought it was Agatha vs Bruno since he withdrew Onyx after Nidorino
The games say that Moon Stones are relatively new (to being as common as they are in game), and where rare back then.
wow I always thought that was a snorlax :o
Gooooood dammit!
I see it now! xD
i still think it is snorlax
It's a gengar xD
Ok ,Proto, I've been playing Pokemon for years, and Iove watching your theories, but this was a bad video.Like really bad.And I'm not saying that to be rude or mean-spirited, I say that because I know you can and have made way better videos than this.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but the thing about Jigglypuff being a main character in Smash Bros., I'm pretty sure Pokémon came out before Smash Bros.Again, correct me if I'm wrong about that, which I probably am.But I say all this not to be rude, but to tell you that can and have done better than this.Sorry,I rambled on.
that's is a good question proto. I'll get back to you on that.
Ken Sugamoris favorite Pokemon is Gengar
you really did beat around the bushes on this one... didn't you
nc video.
but why people make things complicated?
hmmm...
i think in simple terms, they put gengar
and nidorina because they want it.
that's it! done. haha
by the way GOdlbless! ^^
*Nidorino
just an error ^^ but tnx ^^
you couldn't be any more right
I think Gengar=Agatha and Nidorino=oak idk that's wat I think
0:32 "Because the answer is more simple than you might think..."
And yet you have no idea whatsoever. I'm joining the 2,078 dislikes. Come back when you have actual ideas.
So the answer is, because they liked it.
lmao this video explained nothing ...
the first scene of the first episode of pokemon where they start with the game animation then change it to the cartoon gave me chills
0:47 But Proto, Pokémon Yellow's opening is different.
I'm just nitpicking lol
Thx for doing my thoery Proto keep up the good work
This video was kinda..
-I have the answer, just keep on watching..
-I don't know the answer, post your own guess at the comment section below..
look on the cover of the Capsule Monsters book. You can see 2 pokemon that are similar to gengar and nidorino battling it out. I'm assuming they remade the 2 pokemon on the cover and replicated the battle for the Red and Blue intro.
i case youtube marks my visit as a view: i came here only to give it thumbs down
+Paquimex I still got a view. ;)
+ProtoMario OHHHHHHH GG (dat burn doe)
+Paquimex of course it marks it as a view, what are you fucking daft? Lol
Is your only purpose in life to be a dick who goes around thumbs downing videos?
+Paquimex Actually a view is only calculated if it's watched about 50% of the video. (It can vary depending on the video between as low as 25% and as high as 70%)
Professor Oak owned Nidorino. Agatha owned Gengar. It was a flashback of the good old days. Ash saw a rerun of a classic battle between two childhood friends in the anime. ;)
