4:47, I wonder if Sabrina's role as a member of Team Rocket in Pokémon Adventures was inspired by the fact that she was going to be the last gym leader. Perhaps she was originally going to be the head of Team Rocket, herself? Before being repurposed into being an unrelated trainer in the games?
Oh good theory. I know the Adventures manga is said to be Tajiri's vision, so maybe. It would fit too since she carries a whip just like the rest of Team Rocket (and her being in Saffron City, would make the Silph takeover easier)

Sabrina being the final gym leader while in the manga she is one of the Elite members of Team Rocket fits pretty well. Silph being the original corrupt company which is also based in Saffron...damn Also, in the original the Pokemon League would take place in Silph co. They should use some of these in a new game and consider them completely different Pokemon (Spearow doesn't look enough like the final design to where it would be be obviously the same Pokemon, for instance). Probably now called Celadon Jack instead of course :P
Sabrina being the final gym leader while in the manga she is one of the Elite members of Team Rocket fits pretty well.
Silph being the original corrupt company which is also based in Saffron...damn
Also, in the original the Pokemon League would take place in Silph co.
It fits very well with a storyline where the goal would be to expose the corruption behind Silph co and the final league and postgame to be a "celebration" that the company is clean from its corruption,
or the trainers reclaiming a once exclusive space for the shady Silph to make it their training grounds,
or the final league in general before it will be moved to indigo plateau.
imo.
Those inventories had been created them for just 6 years wow.
Why the whip?
(Trrified, traumatized, Heartbrokem, PTSD, & Enslaving Flashbacks.)
💔💔💔💔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭......
Weedle Evo line looks like they were intended to be weevils to rival butterfree/venomoth to be bug flying bug poison and bug fighting as poison was super effective to both bug and grass
Is interesting how Pokemon would be much closer to the classic look and feeling of the vanilla RPGs. Thats one of the reasons why i loved Gen 1, and even more the OG Pokemon Green despite what people said.
What did people say about the OG Pokemon Green?
@@TheObsessiveGamer Is common these days a lot of people saying that Gen 1, especially Pokemon Green is a bad game, something i entirely disagree, especially for the reasons they give like being in black and white, sprites dont resemble to the anime or different gameplay mechanics. I personally think it was an excellent game an even more for a 1996 portable game. I still have a lot of fun replaying it.
@@sebastiankulche The OG Gen 1 games have aged very poorly, but they were great in their time. That's the way it goes for lots of OG Nintendo IPs. Metroid has aged like milk, and to say otherwise is to look at it with rose-colored glasses, but it's still the game that launched an incredible series.
@@DJB3lfry I have zero nostalgia with this games and i still can play it perfectly without any problems. Definitely had more fun with it than most modern Pokemon games which is the only thing it matters. Is fun? Yes it is, case closed.
3:28 my boi Krilin made it to Pokemon, incredible
9:37 Looks like that's the inspiration for Pokemon Fool's Gold's dual ground & dragon type Gyrados!
You should have covered the beta "Battle Tower" or dungeon that is supposed to be the final challenge and has a floor full of every trainer class and gym leaders
I've never heard of this one for Gen 1. Mind linking me somewhere I can further look into it for maybe a future video?
@@TheObsessiveGamer is in the Heli Chamber, it contains Prof.Oak, Chief and all gym leaders
it is in the section where is also the beta gym and map designs
"As this is every trainer in the list minus 6 and Giovanni, it stands to reason that Blackbelt, Juggler, Psychic, Giovanni, Tamer, Cooltrainer M, Cooltrainer F, and either the Rival or Oak were going to be the trainers stationed on the fifth floor. If this was designed as some sort of post-game dungeon, it would make perfect sense for Oak’s level 65-70 party to show up here, followed by the chance to capture Mewtwo on the 6th floor."
Oh man, I completely missed the premiere. I can already tell it will be a great video!
Always can watch later when missed lol Hope you enjoyed it!
I never interested myself in pokemon nor did i understand anything about the things in the video. But i still like it so ma man can achieve the youtube success :D
They should use some of these in a new game and consider them completely different Pokemon (Spearow doesn't look enough like the final design to where it would be be obviously the same Pokemon, for instance). Just need to clean them up a tad. I think it'd be more interesting than some of the totally random, non-animal designs in more recent games, where it shows that they've pretty much run out of new ideas.
If you look at the old pokemon sheet the 1st one is Cubone but he has a shield and a bone/sword that's cool
I wonder how would be the link between Red and Blue's little brother lol
Considering Blue is strong, he'd probably be a good Trainer as well, despite being younger
These beta concepts inspire me to make my own monster collector world!
Some animal trainers do use whips - but only to distinguish their personal space from the lion's.
3:25 Hey it’s Krillin on the left with hair 😅
Shinjuku jack was meant to be part of the fight at Silph Spa...
There’s a firefighter trainer in my original copy of red...is it possible that I got an earlier version of the game?
Totally possible!
If you look at the bottom of your cartridge, you probably (99% sure) will see a Serial Number, check it on the internet in case you find it and you might find some different stuff :) .
@@oMaruMesmo thanks for the info! I’ll definitely go check :)
So is it the orginal version?
Great video. Also, some of these look like Digimon. Lol
Also also..oh my god..pokemon in cages and people whiping them? No wonder they changed it..
When you go high you sound like Dr Doofenshmirtz 😂 in a nice way
Man I should've turned on notifications i will do it right now
Next time we can premiere together :)
6:50 there was no evolution at this stage. If you take a look at the article you'll notice there's a point when the6bibtroduce the concept of evolution
I think they should use the unused scyther for a pre-evo.
Honestly Sabrina as the final gym leader with 5 fully evolved psychic pokemon is a very frightening thought
Ooh, Scyther doesn't look bad.. Scyther looked a bit like a mantis, but the latest one looks more like it.
Beta "brock" reminds me of buu saga krillin.
beta clefairy is so cute!
oh that's quite possible. The gym featuring buddhist monks potentially? Maybe that old fighting gym in Saffron was it?
Imagine trying to whip gastly
I like how all they Pokémon started out as chonky bois
