Interesting that south Ixia is the 52nd state, not only suggesting there's a 51st, but also likely others that diverge in this timeline. In OTL Hawaii became the 50th state in 1959, this New York City looks like it predates this, around the '20s or '30s, which either suggests it's post-1959 and the world didn't change much in those last 50 years, OR it's around the '20s and there were far more states added to the union (somehow).

The patron's lines further tempting you to "complete the ritual" are where I got really interested in the story. Also, I might be tripping, but I think the VA for the patron is the same as savathun from destiny
This reminds me of Infernus and Abram's voice lines, where Infernus claims he was born and raised in New York, while Abrams at least has visited Ixia (though it's uncertain if he's born in Ixia or not. Judging from how he talks about it, he may be an immigrant from Ixia), which means that at least during that 50 year period between the first Maelstrom and now, can get a decent estimate on how old Infernus might be
I wonder if they would connect Deadlock’s lore to TF2 lore (with all the crazy halloween stuff happening in tf2, it might be possible, like how Half-Life and Portal are connected, or even Counter Strike and Left 4 Dead)
I wonder what the deal with Warden is. Yes, he's a militant alchemist, and he looks like some sort of police soldier; and yes, he's got a vendetta against the supernatural. But there are some details that aren't very obvious. Is he a vigilante, or is he part of some organisation? Is he part of the 'Friends of Humanity' or a descendant of Hawthorne - or something entirely different? Are there others like him, or is he alone? And why, in spite of his life's goal being to prevent the Patrons from entering into the world, is he fighting _for_ a Patron?
it's an interesting one! he has vaguely masonic type symbols (to me anyway) on his helmet, that leans well into the 'old ancient order' vibes. I think maybe more of an organisation - he's also had a voice over change too, and maybe gets a visual rework as well, so this might become clear as we go! there's a cool voice line where the patron can't really read his mind or desires at the beginning of a match!
I love this! More deadlock lore please. You might want to also check out Path of Exile lore for POE2 and Monster Hunter lore. Both have deep, rich, and endless lore to dive into.
cheers honor for taking a look! will do more Deadlock for sure. As for other lore - boy, don't want to spread too thin - but I'll keep those in mind! Definitely have another title alongside this and Overwatch I'll give a go in the next few months :)
They need like 1-2 min videos about every hero. Like quick summary show actions and end it with why they seeking the patrons. Doesn't have to be all serious either. Like abhrams could be like an old black snd white nior video. Would do so much for the game
Bro Seven’s lore is insane. He escaped an execution by killing the 7 most powerful ritualist. Popped one’s head like a grape and fried the others while laughing in the electric chair. Hence the prison outfit and the restraint cuffs on his wrist.
Looking forward to more lore content, but got a question. Of all the heroes available, who of which are evil and/or evil-adjacent? I know Seven is but the rest are harder to pinpoint.
It's interesting to think how this entire game originally started off as a third person versus MOBA light game for Half-Life 2 involving the resistance versus the combine.

This reminds me of Infernus and Abram's voice lines, where Infernus claims he was born and raised in New York, while Abrams at least has visited Ixia (though it's uncertain if he's born in Ixia or not. Judging from how he talks about it, he may be an immigrant from Ixia), which means that at least during that 50 year period between the first Maelstrom and now, can get a decent estimate on how old Infernus might be
12:15 Bit of a correction. Infernus is an Ixian, but he was born and raised in New York. Abrams however is from Ixia.
Could imagine seeing Maelstorm like "Events" In-Game to tease new champs and more. Looks promising so far.
Can you please share your colorblindness settings? I love the way your enemy hp bars look!
didn't cover the Bear Pit where Lash and Bebop are fighting for money
Will do Johny! Wanted to do a general intro for people and then go into characters individually :)
I wish they'd allow us to create like a training mode so we can listen to The Oracle without running for our lives xD
you can do this you know! have a look at console commands!
Hammeh, cool video
Brilliant!
super kind, thanks darkness!
I wonder if they would connect Deadlock’s lore to TF2 lore (with all the crazy halloween stuff happening in tf2, it might be possible, like how Half-Life and Portal are connected, or even Counter Strike and Left 4 Dead)
I'm sure they could for fun. There's other planes, multiverse lore!
I'm not a player of deadlock, just ain't my type of game, but damn are these characters interesting and I didn't expect the lore to be that good
I love this!
Sounds like a very interesting hero shooter.
i mean definitely a chunk of it, it's got a solid moba core in it for sure too!
They need like 1-2 min videos about every hero. Like quick summary show actions and end it with why they seeking the patrons. Doesn't have to be all serious either. Like abhrams could be like an old black snd white nior video. Would do so much for the game
The Knicks are a real basketball team. Using the full name Knickerbockers in the game does help roughly establish what time period it’s set in.
Bro Seven’s lore is insane. He escaped an execution by killing the 7 most powerful ritualist. Popped one’s head like a grape and fried the others while laughing in the electric chair. Hence the prison outfit and the restraint cuffs on his wrist.
9:52 Just making sure you know Aleister Crowley, who the good omen's character is named after, was a real person and a legend in occult circles.
In other news, mute phyco systematically destroys self automated research facility, stuned for more news in the oricle.
Goddamn, the Friends of Humanity being a Menace to both Valve and Marvel universes
YES THANK YOU
Dynamo wants to not be mechanical to have a child "The big bang created life and so shall I"
Looking forward to more lore content, but got a question. Of all the heroes available, who of which are evil and/or evil-adjacent? I know Seven is but the rest are harder to pinpoint.
14:02 Im sure that's referencing Aleister Crowley, not the Gaiman character.
It's interesting to think how this entire game originally started off as a third person versus MOBA light game for Half-Life 2 involving the resistance versus the combine.
Great vid!!!!!!
11:45 We already have a corpse in the Oval Office.
Crazy that this game used to be a super futuristic themed game, this is a huge shift tonally but I think it was the right decision.
We are deadlocking now
Still other gaming!
I’m excited to follow the lore of this game
This was entertaining.
Thanks for checking it out kead, appreciated 👊
Is that anno 2070 music in the background?
You should do a video showing everyone who is considered evil and good
