  • #webergrill #bbq Purchased this Weber Spirit II Series model E-210 LP BBQ on Feb 22nd at BBQ World in Kanata, ON. Assembly time was approx 90 minutes and was very easy. Very good overall design and all parts fit together perfectly. Propane tank level feature is not the greatest design. First cooking experience was great. Flavorizer Bars (registered TM) worked well to prevent flareups. Looking forward to using this grill a lot! Flat side of the reversible grills are for large marks for your steaks and the verso, the thin part grill is for delicate food like fish or shrimps that could stick to the large grill side. Here's your answer for the reversible grill.

After a lot of research last year I decided that this was the grill that I wanted, to replace my existing grill. Normal price everywhere is normally $399 and they rarely go on sale. (Weber itself controls when they go on sale.) I constantly watched ads from the big box stores and they were finally on sale at Lowes and Home Depot this past weekend (March 23rd 2019). $50 off of the normal price. Lowes had just one red one in stock so I hot footed it to Lowes on Saturday morning and picked it up.
It took me about 2.5 hours (with a couple of breaks) to assemble on Sunday. I agree that the instruction are pretty good.
Today I went out and started it up for the "burn off" any residue. I was in my garage at 45F and it took only 3 minutes to heat to 300F, which would have taken about 10 minutes on my old grill. I let it run with both burners on High for about 30 minutes to burn off residual oils, etc. It attained a maximum temperature of 680F, which amazed me. I've never seen a propane grill obtain that high of a temperature before. I then let it cool completely down and coated the grates with Crisco and fired it back up to maximum temp again to season the grates.
I'm in northern IL and it is still fairly cold here. I have not cooked on it as yet but cannot wait for the weather to warm up some so that I can use it. I think that most people use the flat side of the grates so that they can get better sear marks, which is what I plan on doing.
Thanks for the very well done video. I hope that you enjoy your Spirit II E-210.

Thank you Tom for sharing your BBQ purchase story. Great information on the fact Weber controls the promotions through their distributors and how you conditioned your grates. I agree, this BBQ can can get hot very quickly. I caution people to start off low and get used to the temperature. Regular price is $550 up here in Canada, which makes sense given the current state of our dollar vs yours. Happy grilling!

Hate to burst your bubble but they're $349 literally everywhere lol and if you use ebates you can save up to another $60 depending on where you buy it!

    • @tomrum42
      @tomrum42 5 років тому +3

@@DirtNassty You are correct. They are now $349. What I thought was a "Sale" 2 weeks ago was actually an across the board price drop to $349. It doesn't matter. I didn't pay the Old price of $399 that they were selling for in 2018 and I now have a really great grill. I've used it twice so far and really like the Spirit II e210 compared to the old grill that was 21 years old.

Thank you for the video, I just pick up a used one and all I needed to do is clean it up, and buy the flavorizing angle parts and a drip tray. But it is in great shape for a 4 year old BBQ it is I think a 2016 Sprit and it is black and has the lower area enclosed .. but it came very clean and very easy. Just so you know after what I think was just a poor attempt by the previous owner at cleaning, there is virtually no rust and the cleaned up very well. The only things that rusted were the small drip pan and the angle pieces. I got it free. The guy was going to just toss it. I would like to send you a pic but I can’t on this platform but your video answered a lot of questions I had so thank you

I love these grills. I tried to find a red one, but they were scarce, so I bought black. Either case, the grill is outstanding. One thing to note is that it will save you trouble to use blue Loctite on the bolt threads when putting these together. Heat alone can cause the bolts to back out over time, Loctite helps prevent this. Keep the grill cleaned and use a cover, and it will last you a good many years.

Their burner system is odd but practical and works.
It has larger vent holes at the front of the grill and they get smaller towards the back(where grills get way too hot on most cheap models).
That bar that runs across, sure enough, does radiate some heat but its mostly for the cross-ignition, so you technically could light up all burners with a single touch of a button.
But it is not recommended, lighting up only one at a time is.
In this case though, they are only two, so it should be fine in my opinion.
Sorry for the lengthy comment, but I'm interested in purchasing this model.
    Thanks for the review! :)

It's nice that they thought to round off the corners on the sides, and cover them with plastic. I can see one of the younger kids running out in the yard and hitting their head on that. Some grills have sharp corners and can injure children not watching where they're going. I also like not having a tank storage area underneath. To me this is safer, and sometimes getting the tank from underneath some grills can be a pain. Weber is a good name for a reason. They engineer their products smartly, and offer the best quality for your money.

Thanks for your comment! I can honestly say that in 18 months of owning this BBQ, I have only once not had enough room on the grill and that was when I was cooking a bunch of ribs. Otherwise there is plenty of room to cook and the heat this two burner BBQ can generate is excellent. Indirect cooking works excellent with this model. It is definitely worth the extra money over the flimsy BBQ's. A mod for the knobs would be pretty easy to make.

Hello Jay. So here's the deal with the cover. On the grill I bought, only the left side folds down. The right is fixed. Due to this you would need to to get the Weber 7138 cover. It is approx 48" wide to accommodate the width of the BBQ with the sides up. I believe that some previous models may have been able to fold both sides down. For those you need to get the Weber 7105 cover, which is much narrower. Hope this helps! Thanks for your question!

Thank you for your question. The BBQ was purchased in February of this year, so no rust or discoloration yet. It easily exceeds 500 degrees, so no problem searing. We've cooked two roasts on it so far. Both roasts were approx 3 lbs and we set them in a 3" deep 9 x 13 pan and used indirect heat. Worked perfect! @@kitchenunderpressure179 good thing women don't watch these videos, they'd be telling you that you need to put lotion on your hands and trim your finger nails before you do a video.

Nice try but hardly a review of how it performs.

I agree. I could've done a better job on the performance part. Next time 😁

@@kitchenunderpressure179 I bought one anyway. Seems to flare up and have more flame on one side versus the other. Better than charbroil rust buckets but hardly worthy of the Weber tag and price.

@@JJJ-pj8ts Hmmm, I can't say I have that problem with mine. Depending how long since you purchased, I'd go back and speak to the vendor about that or contact weber directly. There has to be some benefit to paying the higher price for a Weber and I would hope they'd stand behind it. Good luck!
