Weber Spirit II E-210 BBQ - 4 Year Update
Just an update on the Weber Spirit II that I bought in early 2019. Everything has held up quite well accept for the flavorizer bars. I suspect if I had used the BBQ more they would've not lasted two years. I happened to get 4 out of them because I don't use the BBQ much between December and March. All other items that tend to be consumables like the grilling grates, ignitor, thermometer, and wheels are holding up very well.
I contacted weber about the bars and they sent me no charge replacements as they are covered under the 10 year warranty. Nice benefit. Thanks Weber for standing behind your product!

Weber Spirit E-210 BBQ Follow Up - 18 Months Later #webergrill #BBQ
Переглядів 71 тис.4 роки тому
We see many reviews of products when they are new, but what about a year or two into the life of an item? This video goes through my experience with the Weber Spirit E-210 LP BBQ and how it has held up over 18 months. I have also shared the way I clean the BBQ. The cleaning portion was in the spring after a cooking throughout the winter, so lots of buildup. I hope you find this video as helpful.
Weber Spirit II E-210 LP BBQ Review

#webergrill #bbq Purchased this Weber Spirit II Series model E-210 LP BBQ on Feb 22nd at BBQ World in Kanata, ON. Assembly time was approx 90 minutes and was very easy. Very good overall design and all parts fit together perfectly. Propane tank level feature is not the greatest design. First cooking experience was great. Flavorizer Bars (registered TM) worked well to prevent flareups. Looking f...

Our 2nd video is homemade baked beans cooked in the Instant Pot. Everyone you speak to has a specific way of prepping or cooking the beans. I have tried to simplify the process by using the IP. We have tried both soaking and not soaking the beans and come to the conclusion that soaking overnight (at least 8 hours) softens the beans to the way we like them. I used the Thompson's brand white pea ...

    I think your three videos are great and really appreciate the information. I’ve got a Char-Broil that I’m not really happy with because it never gets hot enough to sear, the so called infrared emitters are rusting through and the grates would never come clean and have rusted as well. Well just today I found the SPIRIT II E-210 GBS on sale for 329 Euros (I’m an American living in Germany). After seeing you videos I’m convinced that this is a really good grill and I’m going to trash my Char-Broil and order the Weber Spirit II. So a question I have is, how do you clean the grates after grilling because they appear to be in really great shape (no rust, etc.)? And thanks again for the great videos (liked and subscribed 😁).

    Quick tip. Rotate your flavorizer bars into that center position yearly allowing them to wear more evenly. This will extend the need maybe another year or two before reolacement. Especially if youre out if warranty.

    Thank you for your video... This really is good to show me how it goes with using a propane barbeque. I am a complete beginner as I have never used one, even though I am 79 years old. It would be great to cook outdoors now that I am following a carnivore lifestyle. Your unit does look pretty bad to me, as I am a perfectionist, but maybe this is just how it is with one of these. I thought about Weber because of the guarantee. Mine would have to be outside year-round in Canadian Winter... so... I just don't know, though I have looked at a Weber Traveler compact that I could fold up and put inside for Winter.

    I hate my Weber Spirit. The flavourizer bars rust out quickly and rust flakes pop up into your food. The door falls off every time I use it. The nibs wore out -just plastic and won’t turn the controls and grease fires occur all the time due to the poor design and how grease builds up on the bars and interior belly.

    • @kitchenunderpressure179
      @kitchenunderpressure179 Рік тому

      My model is a little older and doesn't have a door. Not sure I agree with everything you mentioned as my bars took a few years to rust out, but the flavorizing bars definitely allow build up quite easily, which causes flare ups. They have to be scraped off before every use, which is kind of a pain.

    Weber continues to bite the hands that feed them by downgrading their Spirit II grills, first by discontinuing colors, and most recently by discontinuing iGrill 3 compatibility. I have sworn by Weber grills for approximately 50 of my 71 years, but now at my age, the last grill I will probably buy will definitely not be a Weber.

    Too bad the original Weber covers are so ridiculously expensive... when I bought my E-210 10-12 years ago the grill was $300 and the cover $80-90.... now I think around $110...did buy cheap aftermarket that I´ve replaced instead, but what I´ve heard the original dont hold up that good for the cost... Thank you for the great follow up review video. I look forward to the 3-5 year review! Much appreciate your efforts and the tips with cleaning with the pressure washer. Just some follow up questions: How often do you clean the grill (1 or 2 times a season)? Did you have to use any sort of detergent or degreaser prior to pressure washing? Did you notice that the stainless steel surfaces developing "surface rust" that needs to be cleaned off? Is it possible to remove the cook box out of the stand, remove the burners, remove the manifold before pressure washing? Thanks again.

    • @kitchenunderpressure179
      @kitchenunderpressure179 3 роки тому

      Hello and thank you for your feedback and questions. I typically give the grill a thorough cleaning 2-3 times a year where I take burners out and then pressure wash. Numerous other times I just do a simple scraping of the cook box to get rid of minor buildup. I have not noticed any rusting on any stainless steel parts as of yet. The cook box can be removed, but I see no advantage to removing it from the legs/stand. Take care and happy grilling!

    How on God's earth would any one let their BBQ get to that level of dirt, grease and carbon build up? (a) disgusting (b) negligence. Come on guys, a bit of respect for such a great product!

    • @kitchenunderpressure179
      @kitchenunderpressure179 3 роки тому

      I understand a couple of people have found the build-up to be pretty significant and I do not deny that it was. I get a kick out of trolls like you who want to bash people without an ounce of knowledge on the details. If I could share a little bit of background. I live in Canada and though I'd love to clean my BBQ more often, some winters it's just not in the cards with our weather. I typically maintain the grill grates, scrape the flavorizing bars, keep the cover clean and do some quick scraping of the lower inside housing in the winter, but a combination of bad weather the 2nd half of that winter and some heavy use by family members made for a very dirty grill. I have to say it certainly made for a better visual for the video when cleaning it. I do agree with one thing you said, it is a great product.

      Thanks for watching the video and for your feedback. I've explained the reason behind why it was so dirty, but in case you missed those replies: I live in Canada. The latter part of that winter (2019) was pretty harsh and a combination of heavy use by a number of family members and not getting the ability to clean it resulted in a very dirty BBQ. It has never been anywhere near that dirty since. I'll likely post another video soon to show how it has held up and ppl will see what great condition it is in. That's because I do have pride of ownership.
