This is the 3rd install video of this sun shade and I liked yours the best. You showed exactly where things needed to go and made it look less intimidating. I’ll probably be picking this thing up.
That’s nice. Beats most of the other shades. I got one that’s manual and it’s split at 50% point. Thus the people in the back can control their sunlight by manually opening and closing their shade while the people in front can control theirs albeit manual. Nice presentation.
So, you need to spend $600 and your time on something that should have been standard on a $50k car? or settled on a manual cover that Tesla or aftermarket offering?
It would have been great if Tesla had this as a factory installed option, or it just came standard, but that’s the way it goes I guess. I used to get a free cup of ranch with my buffalo wings. Now it’s weighed and added to my tab. Tesla will likely say our roof is tinted tempered glass that blocks the suns rays, but it still gets pretty hot in direct sunlight.
As the motor unit is located in the rear, it is a decent amount of the headspace, it is about 3.75” lower than the glass. In the front it is 1.75” lower.
Agreed, I have heard rumors that this unit used to have a button in front and back. Probably better to have one button for me, as my kids would be playing with it the entire time.
Fitment could've been a little bit better, but I would definitely consider getting one for my Model Y. It seems decently easy to install, also. I currently have those foldable shades which helps with the sun, but when I have the windows down the shades starts buffeting really bad from the wind and I feel like they're going to fly off. How are the retractable shades when it's closed and your windows are open? Does the shade part shake a lot from the wind?
Great questions, and something I didn't even think about...My thinking is that the brackets in the front go pretty far underneath the headliner, so I dont think there is any real chance of the assembly coming down, but I do wonder if it might vibrate from the buffeting. I will test it out and drop a video here of the results.

How I value products on UA-cam. 1. Did you spend your own money ? 2. Have you had it for at least a year ? 3. If the words “Honest Review” are in the description you’re just hawkin products to me. 4. And your the reason why they have to mark-up the product to get their money back from all the “honest reviews.”

Appreciate it. I honestly thought I might just do a review and remove it, but I actually like it so much, I can’t bring myself to remove it.

Thanks for the comment. I looked at those Split View shades and almost went with those. I just wanted the Automatic controls.
I think thats the best sun shade ive seen so far.
I didn't think I would like it as much as I do.
It looks really good. 7:02

I’m pretty tall and like sitting in the back. Can you tell me the headspace impact after you installed this unit? Very insightful VDO. Thanks

Understand. I just wanted front and backseat function.

Is it not one touch?
@@shaqdeez1 it is one touch open and close. You can also hold down to stop at a specific moment.

@@johnqcitizen9177 thanks! Good points to live by.
It would be hard to wait a year to make a review, but I could see a follow up video after a year.
Not worth spending $600
Thanks for the comment. It is pricey, but once I installed it, I feel like it was worth the price.
I did put a 20% discount code in the description to shave off $120
