When Facebook said that you would eventually require a Facebook account to use Oculus that's when Oculus never existed to me. Not surprising they are pushing more garbage into it.
They trying to turn VR into the mobile game market but forgot all the games you get are paid for already which disables ads in that market.

Windows Central reports that Facebook is banning Oculus users who simultaneously use more than one VR headset linked to the same social network account. This violates Facebook's terms of service, support representatives claim.
FB is saying they wont do The Thing with the VR adverts but thats bulshit. They have a history of doing The Thing and why wouldnt they do something excessively manpulative that would give them so much profit? They are definately doing The Thing, just later on just like every other major company. Other companies usually do The Thing they said they wouldnt do anyway, after a change of management. FB will not wait that long.

Me too. Heavy hitters like Spiderman and Final Fantasy don't seem to be moving from PSN. So I agree. Kinda a shame, but its understandable. Plus Microsoft also has PC as another avenue of approach.

But check out the atmosphere between the guys! They consolidated so much last year. Pandemic? Vacation? Maybe... but look how they got to the level of understanding without words! One speaks the exact thing the other has on his mind, and they are doing it not because took 7 takes to get it visible. 100% natural team. I think Alex is so beneficial for the whole AJS, and they don't suffer from lacking Del at all.
Don't forget that Morrowind was Xbox-PC exclusive. ESVI has very much the potential to go back to that.
Oblivion was originally exclusive to PC and 360 initially. PS3 didn't get a slice until a few years later (due to RAM issues I believe and not being able to develop for PS3 in parallel on a separate dev branch).

I owned a PS3 Oblivion and it constantly crashed and corrupted my saves.

I'm not surprised that Starfield is Xbox/PC exclusive and I have no doubt that TES VI will be too. Microsoft payed a lot of money for Bethesda and they didn't do it to play nice with Sony. Especially since Sony kicked their asses hard last gen when it came to exclusives. Even Nintendo dunked on MS with the Switch and they're usually off in their own separate little world away from the "console war" lol.
Yep. This is the correct answer. The problem was that the Xbox exclusives could be good, but not great like the PS exclusives, which won awards, plaudits and review scores. Game pass is really excellent value, but it’s not enough to win over those looking for groundbreaking exclusives. Now, with the purchase of Bethesda they hope to plug this gap. Making it PC cross platform is also a very good strategic move. They are playing a longer game of keeping people in their ecosystem and bringing in new people. We’ll see this develop further with next gen where Microsoft is more honest about their intentions to win the console war.
I see Sony winning this gen, but it’s going to be very close, and Xbox will finally have some exclusives that make ps fans jealous and win some awards.
Nintendo seem to have a very profitable niche all to themselves. They release a 10 year old remaster of Zelda at full price, and it’s going to sell bucket loads. It’s funny how people thought Nintendo would die and go the way of Sega before the switch hit.

@@9inchpincher tbf look at all the franchises ruined by woke/unpassionate people. Star Wars, terminator, game of thrones, ghostbusters, last of us, etc. not to mention the last fallout was trash. For Skyrim to be good it has to be made by purely passionate people in Bethesda who have no agenda to insert their ideology and considering the world is getting worse and more woke combined with the fact that the game won’t come out until at least 2024 I’d say keep your expectations very very very low. Same thing with gta 6. He’s not hurt he’s just smart.
All Bethesda titles going forward, no matter what they are, will be absolutely exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem. The only exception to that are any contractional obligations like Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo. If Sony wants these games the only solution would be to allow gamepass on their platform, which I highly doubt they will do. If you're a PS5 owner and want to play these games just simply get a device that has gamepass and play it on there. Most of these games will be streamable on the Xcloud if you don't have a PC. There's plenty of platforms and options to play these games unlike PS4 and 5 games.
If it plays out right, Microsoft skipped the console war and just won platform war. The hardware shortage doesn't matter as much because their ecosystem big enough.
The only games I see going to ps are the online games. Any future online games like ESO and Fallout 76 I can see going to ps. But any other type of game like ES6 and Doom I don’t think we’ll ever see on ps again.
Microsoft is banking on streaming being the future. In ten or twenty years they don’t think as many people will be buying many consoles, so they are trying to control market share now.

The Oculus news is so disappointing. I thought they hit rock bottom with requiring players to have a Facebook account or needing to pay double along with a subscription fee. And now this.
It is just sucks, since I had so much faith in the headset. And Facebook just continues to ruin it.
The headset keeps getting better in terms of features though.
And that "subscription fee" thing is simply for the enterprise version of the quest 2 that comes with dedicated support. Which is what the fee is for. Which is extremely common for enterprise equipment. It's not meant for consumers.

MS wouldn't purchase Bethesda for billions just to release ESVI on PS. They want Bethesda's library to add value to the game pass in the same way that Disney bought FOX for Disney+
That’s what PlayStation gamers expect, but Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo are two Bethesda games PlayStation 5 exclusives (assume time exclusives of course) coming out this year and Psychonauts 2 from another studio Microsoft bought is also coming to PlayStation 5 August 2021. Minecraft didn’t become an Xbox exclusive when Microsoft bought Mojang Studios either.
@@Snoy_Fly I imagine Deathloop and Ghostwire were much further in the development line than Starfield and Elder Scrolls. As for Minecraft, it was out long before game pass, so you can't necessarily make it exclusive without having a PR nightmare. The Psychonauts one has me stumped though.

(Not just consoles, but for various implantations, like ray traced, and console ray traced etc)
Joe was upset that they forced themselves to focus on so many versions, for instance Stadia, and was unnecessarily time consuming.
I also agree with Todd Howard here, Playstation uses a different code base and API, Xbox switched to the Windows hierarchy some time ago, that simplifies things a lot for the developers.

The costreaming tweet from nintendo is a branch of a bigger issue with Japanese copyright. Fair use is pretty much nonexistant, so showing the nintendo direct at all without express permission is illegal. That tweet is more of a fair warning than a threat.
If there is no fair use in japan, they still don't HAVE to engage in actions... Whatever the copyright law is over there, does it force them to take such stupid actions? If so why the other japanese brand don't act the same?
@@AudreyRobinel I should specify. Nintendo has full control over how their direct is presented in Japan and the streaming platforms have to abide by that rule. Nintendo may not care about costreaming, but sites like nico nico douga and twitch are more or less required to shut everything down because they would be complicit if charges are pressed. Nintendo is not the root of the issue, it's the broken legislation that treats everyone, even the copyright holders unfairly.

@@AudreyRobinel I don't think you understand. Nintendo doesn't make that call. Copyright infringement is a felony in Japan, and law enforcement deals with it instead of the copyright holder. Nintendo can tack a fine on, but things like jail time is decided by the court. And since the courts have a 99% conviction rate, someone will go to jail if they are caught.

because the most money is in hooking people to long term recurring subscriptions like gamepass. sony doesnt want gamepass on the ps5 so ms wont put games on ps5, simple as that. a couple hundred million from selling copies on ps5 is nothing compared to the Billions they are allready making on gamepass (they are past 23 million subs since april allready, even assuming just 10$/month average, thats allready 2.7 billion a year. plus whatever those people buy in DLC etc)

I actually feel really bad for any Playstation fans who have been waiting years for the next Elder Scrolls, then to have it taken away from them unless they pay for a gaming PC/Xbox One X. I hope they don't do this but they probably will because that's how it is nowadays, thank god I am on PC.

For the Baldur's gate: At least they recognize there are problems and need to keep working on it. DONT RUSH THE DEVELOPERS! We really dont want unifinished products. I've put in 40 hours into the EA of BG3 and it was great for me. Im excited for more. but i can wait for the best experience possible.
They already have your money though. It's not that different from pre-ordering. Just you get a buggy work in progress product straight away. With the potential of it being good and a full game. However it can easily fall through too as shown by countless examples.

I regret ever putting money into Early Development. It was the first time I put money into Early Development and I'm tired of replaying Act I, with scarce game updates for $60.00. Also people pretend like you have a lot of sway and sway in Early Development when you really don't. It was also my first Baldur's Gate game and with this combined, I would NEVER do it again and for $60.00 down the drain I sure as hell have the right to complain about it.

I think there was a miscommunication with Nintendo. I uploaded my Nintendo E3 reaction and it was a video and not a livestream. Filming it as a video instead of a livestream is what they find acceptable so it’s not that Nintendo is banning those from reacting to their E3 direct just them saying “you can make a video but not livestreaming it”

I'm pretty sure if Nintendo was actually doing that about livestreaming the direct, they would say it in English and address it on Nintendo America. The fact that it was in Japanese implies that it was just directed at them, and that makes more sense there considering laws there.
Joe is insane - there is no way elder scrolls is coming to PS. Why would they possibly want to help their competitor? The only way it comes to ps5 is if games pass also comes to ps5 - why wouldn’t they use this to their advantage?
No Bethesda would be fucking insane to not have it come to PS5.
The question is when is it gonna come out. I can see a delay in release, because the business is changing to where exclusively is not the best option for maximum profit.
@@NathanCassidy721 Dude, Bethesda is a Microsoft studio. We already got the clue from Phill Spencer when he said the new Arkane Studios game, alongside Starfield will be exclusives to Xbox. Then you have The Outer Worlds 2, which is not a new IP also being an exclusive. There's absolutely no reason for Microsoft to release TESVI on the PS5. None.
Also, after Todd Howard said this week that focusing on a smaller number of platforms will help them making better games, basically just sealed the deal. It's over.
@@NathanCassidy721 they’re not going to do that. Pete Hines even said it’s out of his hands. They want game pass subscribers. They’re not going to get that by putting their game on PlayStation. Todd Howard even said now that they don’t have to make games for PlayStation. They can focus on less devices and make better games. Phil Spencer has said. Bethesda games will be where game pass exist. That’s Xbox, pc, mobile, soon smart TVs and game pass stick. They don’t need to put their games on PlayStation.
