The irony is that the people that judge adults playing games probably themselves spend countless hours watching television, binging netflix, watching countless sports games on the TV, etc. etc. Now I wouldn't tell someone they shouldn't do that. Hell my uncle loves to watch football. But when you cast the first stone you better look at yourself in the mirror. Many adults are still productive members of society that work, have families and pay the bills/taxes. What they do with their free time is their business.

That’s not the point, but the fact the government has to step in and regulate a kids screen time over video games, speaks volumes that a. Parents aren’t doing much to get their kids off the games or b. Are allowing their kids to play but don’t really care. It’s still sickening that that the government needs to do this crap let alone a parent is the main judgement in what their kid(s) is allowed to play and for how long. In many ways adults shouldn’t have to worry about the government having to say some shit and lay down a regulation because they feel that it should be this way instead of that way. Let them play video games it seems unnecessary to regulate play time. But by all means they can do whatever they want people will find a way to avoid this dumb regulation.
Video games only exists as a medium because a bunch of grown men dedicated their lives to it when it was unpopular, expensive, and having conventions under tents in rain storms. This just feels like an example of when a niche hobby gets popular and then the new people brought into it bastardizes it to tailor to their wants and slowly the original people are pushed away from what they built out of love.

As more people get into gaming they want their niche on display. Anyone who doesn't do so is attacked for it. A good, direct, example is the new live action Bebop series coming out. They made a character black already and they stated that "mature topics" like lgbt weren't a thing when the series came out (which is a lie) and so they will be rewriting it to be more mature. Why? The show is beloved for a reason so why would you change the writing? It is to appeal to the newer audiences and try to cash in on both the original fans and new ones at once. The gaming industry suffers from the same thing. It has become too widespread and everyone wants it to appeal to them OVER others. For many of those niche communities you can't just include them, you must exclude others. It isn't just "SJW" either. China has been doing it a whole lot and it is just as frustrating. They are review bombing a game just for having the Tibetan flag in it.

If I am not mistaken, Apple has to allow for 3rd party payment processing in apps. But according to the user agreement developers cannot advertise or inform their customers of the alternate payment options within the Apple ecosystem. An individual has to be aware of the option from an external source and choose to make use of it.
Also apple is still eligible to take the 30% cut of all the IAP, doesn’t matter if it happens through the App Store or not, so apple is not loosing any money as Alex said, it’s only that apple needs to find a way to track the transactions happening outside the App Store (may be they will go with the formula similar to Sony to calculate this amount) So overall apple is the winner here and epic is the looser as they have to pay a fine and fortenite is still not reinstated and it’s up to apple if they want to keep the epics developer account (this means trouble for UE as well)
Apple doesn't have to allow 3rd party payment processes. The only change for them is that they can't stop a developer from adding a link or an ad in the app saying "hey guys buy this on our web page for cheaper!!!!" But even then that is fairly moot as industry changes in other countries made it unlikely Apple would continue stopping devlopers from doing that. The judge very clearly said that Apple is owed that 30% no matter how that in app purchase is bought. If it interacts with the Apple ecosystem they get a cut of the money. Hoeg Law has several videos on this which are a lot better than the coverage found here or elsewhere. When you listen to actual lawyers talk about it it becomes easy to see that Apple did not lose in any meaningful way.

The game Joe might be thinking of is either: Encased, Wasteland or Atom RPG. Those are the only Isometric Top Down RPGs in a Post-Apocalyptic setting I can think of. (Not counting Fallout of course)

@@robdude999 It was based DND style, so it's dialogue options we're a very in depth RPG. Recommend Act Man's video on how KOTOR was made and how...AWESOME it was. Shortening dialogue options may work, but then you have to look into if those options were dead end zones.

Watch literally nothing and see how quickly you get bored or end up becoming duller than you are. Like, I was told the same thing by a foster mother I had. Truth be told, that was the only wrong lesson she had for me. I still regret throwing away my old strategy guides and selling all but one of my games I had for my DS and PSP at the time. Gaming has been a big part of me since the GBA showed me there was more to enjoy than just Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and Sonic, and I never regretted it or looked back. Just don't be a toxic assclown.

@angryjoeshow The fallout game you are thinking of that isn't fallout might be Encased? Just released and it's been reviewing quite well on steam at any rate. Plays like Fallout 1 or 2 based on what I have read. I haven't played it but if it's actually good I say good deal. Many are pointing out in the comments that Joe may be thinking of Wasteland but that IP came out originally before Fallout (so it shouldn't be seen as a ripoff) and the more recent sequel Wasteland 3 came out in August 2020. In comparison Encased just came out last week and may be more perceived as a "ripoff of fallout" but seems to be doing well with reviews at least.
Playing Encased right now. Pretty good game. Enjoying every bit of it. Wouldn't call it a "ripoff" though. It's more like hommage to Fallout. It's made by a Russian studio "dark crystal game studio". In Russia Fallout 1,2 are beloved and cherished. I believe "Dark crystal" did there best trying to compliment there favorite rpg. There is a different fallout-like rpg called Atom rpg. Recently came out stand along DLC for it, maybe Joe was talking about it. Atom isn't that good and can be called a "ripoff".

If I am not mistaken, Apple has to allow for 3rd party payment processing in apps. But according to the user agreement developers cannot advertise or inform their customers of the alternate payment options within the Apple ecosystem. An individual has to be aware of the option from an external source and choose to make use of it.
Also apple is still eligible to take the 30% cut of all the IAP, doesn’t matter if it happens through the App Store or not, so apple is not loosing any money as Alex said, it’s only that apple needs to find a way to track the transactions happening outside the App Store (may be they will go with the formula similar to Sony to calculate this amount) So overall apple is the winner here and epic is the looser as they have to pay a fine and fortenite is still not reinstated and it’s up to apple if they want to keep the epics developer account (this means trouble for UE as well)
Apple doesn't have to allow 3rd party payment processes. The only change for them is that they can't stop a developer from adding a link or an ad in the app saying "hey guys buy this on our web page for cheaper!!!!" But even then that is fairly moot as industry changes in other countries made it unlikely Apple would continue stopping devlopers from doing that.
The judge very clearly said that Apple is owed that 30% no matter how that in app purchase is bought. If it interacts with the Apple ecosystem they get a cut of the money.
Hoeg Law has several videos on this which are a lot better than the coverage found here or elsewhere. When you listen to actual lawyers talk about it it becomes easy to see that Apple did not lose in any meaningful way.

The game Joe might be thinking of is either: Encased, Wasteland or Atom RPG. Those are the only Isometric Top Down RPGs in a Post-Apocalyptic setting I can think of. (Not counting Fallout of course)

Apple didn't loose anything, While apps can link off the app, it's under a contractual agreement that you have to pay apple the 30% regardless if the customer pays it on the app or through the link or a 3rd party payment. it's just easier to manage through apples in app purchase.

@@robdude999 It was based DND style, so it's dialogue options we're a very in depth RPG. Recommend Act Man's video on how KOTOR was made and how...AWESOME it was. Shortening dialogue options may work, but then you have to look into if those options were dead end zones.

I'm guessing that Mrs. "Grown Men Shouldn't Play Video Games is actually a person with a BARREL of Frustrations, CHIEF among which is that a lot of MEN don't glance her way anymore as opposed to their being glued to their Smartphone / Console / Computer games, including her child.

Like, I was told the same thing by a foster mother I had. Truth be told, that was the only wrong lesson she had for me. I still regret throwing away my old strategy guides and selling all but one of my games I had for my DS and PSP at the time. Gaming has been a big part of me since the GBA showed me there was more to enjoy than just Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and Sonic, and I never regretted it or looked back.

@angryjoeshow The fallout game you are thinking of that isn't fallout might be Encased? Just released and it's been reviewing quite well on steam at any rate. Plays like Fallout 1 or 2 based on what I have read. I haven't played it but if it's actually good I say good deal.
Many are pointing out in the comments that Joe may be thinking of Wasteland but that IP came out originally before Fallout (so it shouldn't be seen as a ripoff) and the more recent sequel Wasteland 3 came out in August 2020. In comparison Encased just came out last week and may be more perceived as a "ripoff of fallout" but seems to be doing well with reviews at least.
Playing Encased right now. Pretty good game. Enjoying every bit of it. Wouldn't call it a "ripoff" though. It's more like hommage to Fallout. It's made by a Russian studio "dark crystal game studio". In Russia Fallout 1,2 are beloved and cherished. I believe "Dark crystal" did there best trying to compliment there favorite rpg.
There is a different fallout-like rpg called Atom rpg. Recently came out stand along DLC for it, maybe Joe was talking about it. Atom isn't that good and can be called a "ripoff".
