Anyways, rather than having a protagonist with a brick breaking jaw, and a rats nest for hair, what they should do is just scrap that, and allow you to play as a Twi Lek you can customize. Having a few different body types to start off from, tatoo designs etc. It'd be funny to see the stats of how many choose the ideal standard of a bikini model looking female twi lek. Beyond that, twi leks skin tones can literally be every colour, and it's great because it has nothing to do with real world politics. @@Granny_Smith no its not, its made out of a material called Plastoid, cheap in production and it doesn't stop the impact of heavy things or blaster bolts, the upper chest and helmet is the strongest part of the armor, it can stop blaster bolts if you get hit by a bolt over longer range, but overall the armor is cheap in production, it can save your life but it will knock you out. The armor is plastoid, the star wars equivalent to plastic, but its a lot stronger. Durasteel is the material that is hard to work with and it is resistent to lightsabers and blaster bolts, it can even deactivate lightsabers for a really short time, as its shown in the Acolyte, the siths helmet is made out of it.

I worked in QA for both EA and Ubisoft, and if I were to choose the most important thing that I've learned, is that a lot of devs hate the QA people because they are the ones tasked with finding their mistakes. NieR: Automata, Bayonetta, Metroid, Tomb Raider, Horizon Zero Dawn (the first one), Bloodraine, Control, A Plague Tale, Resident Evil games, AC Syndicate, HL: Alyx, Hellblade. And these are mostly the recent ones. Won't even go to stuff like Full Throttle or Syberia. Oh, I get it, they're talking about unattractive female characters in shitty games. Well doh... I have a friend who played a dark elf mage in Lineage 2 just to watch her ass. I mean, us the straight guys like to enjoy some eye candy, but rarely do we play the games just for the eye candy. I'm one of those guys who primarily plays female characters, if Kay Vess looked like her actor, it would 100% be a selling point for me. Who doesn't like looking at attractive women? Feminists hate the "male gaze" because it never fell upon them, so they have to lower the attractiveness of all female characters in media to make themselves feel "seen". I don't mind more realistic proportions on female characters, and I don't think ever female character should have the physique of Mileena from MK9, but you cannot deny that it sells and it's in demand. I'm playing the first descendant and that game's swimsuit cosmetics for female characters are selling like hotcakes, I see them literally every day all across the hub area, and we're talking like a $20 skin per character. If Ubi and these other established studios pulled their collective heads out of their own asses and went back to the formula that actually worked and sold games, they wouldn't need to defend themselves publicly. This new age wave of controlled feminism doesn't represent women in a good light and I honestly believe it hurts women as a whole. That's my two cents at least.

A big part is the culture and not just the character design. We have so much choice with entertainment that we all have to be more picky. And I'm never going to buy a game that's made by people who vocally hate me, regardless of the design or if the game is good. Go on internet archive and flip through some old gaming magazines from 20 years ago and remember what we used to have. The ads, the articles, the games, everything was cool, attractive, informative, and cutting edge. Yeah, female characters like 2B, Bayonetta, Tifa, Cortana, Miranda Lawson, Alcina Dimitrescu, Jill Valentine, Elizabeth Comstock, Lara Croft, Tracer, Mad Moxxi, Ivy, etc. are all iconic, recognizable and will be remembered. Most of the time it's sexual sure, but the character designs and casting choices of the voice actresses are very inspired with passion behind them. It's basic human psychology, people like to look at nice things.

I worked in QA for both EA and Ubisoft, and if I were to choose the most important thing that I've learned, is that a lot of devs hate the QA people because they are the ones tasked with finding their mistakes. It's like pointing out that their baby is flawed.

NieR: Automata, Bayonetta, Metroid, Tomb Raider, Horizon Zero Dawn (the first one), Bloodraine, Control, A Plague Tale, Resident Evil games, AC Syndicate, HL: Alyx, Hellblade. And these are mostly the recent ones. Won't even go to stuff like Full Throttle or Syberia.
Oh, I get it, they're talking about unattractive female characters in shitty games. Well doh... I have a friend who played a dark elf mage in Lineage 2 just to watch her ass. I mean, us the straight guys like to enjoy some eye candy, but rarely do we play the games just for the eye candy. A lot of us won't play the game if the overall is bad, regardless of how much eye candy is in it.

I'm one of those guys who primarily plays female characters, if Kay Vess looked like her actor, it would 100% be a selling point for me. Who doesn't like looking at attractive women? Feminists hate the "male gaze" because it never fell upon them, so they have to lower the attractiveness of all female characters in media to make themselves feel "seen". I don't mind more realistic proportions on female characters, and I don't think ever female character should have the physique of Mileena from MK9, but you cannot deny that it sells and it's in demand. I'm playing the first descendant and that game's swimsuit cosmetics for female characters are selling like hotcakes, I see them literally every day all across the hub area, and we're talking like a $20 skin per character. If Ubi and these other established studios pulled their collective heads out of their own asses and went back to the formula that actually worked and sold games, they wouldn't need to defend themselves publicly. This new age wave of controlled feminism doesn't represent women in a good light and I honestly believe it hurts women as a whole. That's my two cents at least.

I just don’t understand the logic behind it. Women don’t like to play as ugly women either. I know when I make my characters in RPG games I am definitely not making them ugly, and I prefer female protagonists being pretty in the video games I play. If Lara Croft was really ugly, I’m not sure I’d spend hours playing the games, even though I’m not attracted to women. It’s the same with male characters. Both men and women in video games are often designed to be attractive to appeal to the audiences. Everyone always talks about how demeaning the “hot women” in video games are, acting as though the men aren’t also specifically designed to be hot to appeal to both female audiences and male power fantasies.

Yeah, female characters like 2B, Bayonetta, Tifa, Cortana, Miranda Lawson, Alcina Dimitrescu, Jill Valentine, Elizabeth Comstock, Lara Croft, Tracer, Mad Moxxi, Ivy, etc. are all iconic, recognizable and will be remembered. Most of the time it's sexual sure, but the character designs and casting choices of the voice actresses are very inspired with passion behind them. It's basic human psychology, people like to look at nice things.
