This will soon be my third Civic Si. The 8th-gen with its naturally aspirated 8000-rpm screamer of an engine will always be my favorite. That said nothing beats the latest model in terms of value, fuel economy, and build quality. Also glad they got rid of that silly HDMI-port-looking exhaust.
Actually, jetta GLI beats it in terms of value and build quality!
@@L10N. The GLI offers far more comfort and tuning capability. I am of the GLI. It is a very good value. You can get them without a mark up.

I wanted one of these. I shopped around for a few months looking at black & sonic grey cars.
It wasn’t the car itself that turned me off, but the experience at the dealers.
-dealers wouldn’t allow me to test drive the car, only sit. They wanted me to sign before I could get the keys.
-of the three cars I looked at, they all had “market adjustment” prices. Lowest of that being $3,000, highest $5,000.
-salesmen were indifferent. If I wouldn’t buy the car, someone else would.
In July I stepped into a VW dealership and purchased a 2023 Golf GTI 40th anniversary edition. MSRP with a friendly & easy to work with dealer.
It’s unfortunate. My close friend growing up was a big Honda guy & I was looking to make the switch. But for the same price as the VW & seeing as I needed a car right then and there, I couldn’t do it. Will always like them, though.

What is the sound at 6:06 when you shift from 1-2? The transmission?
Yes! Just the gearbox
That’s sounds brutal like a hard shift slamming into the gear
Just in terms of power and acceleration, does it feel noticeably faster than the regular 1.5T?
Feels very similar, although it does feel quicker to me at the higher speeds, and it has a cooler sound

@@DMCarReviews I have 10th gen civic si and love my car. Of course to get to 60 mph gotta shift three times 1,2,3rd gear at 52mph to get to 60. If this was dual clutch automatic and rear wheel drive or awd this would be a 5 second flat 0-60. As you said in one of comments the Si feels fun and quick once you are rolling and moving at higher speeds. This is a great fun car, reliable, 33 mpg combined fuel economy and holds resale value. I can recommend it highly. Of course if one wants mad speed get a corvette or a bike. That is not the point of the Si.
What rpm does the engine run at at 60mph when you shift normally amd use 6th gear?

i know that 41mph in 5th gear is 2000RPM - i would guess 60mph in 6th gear is 2500rpm
This car just seems fun to drive around maybe track. It’s a perfect daily but if you’re trying to beat someone in a straight line race 😂😂😂 then forget about it.
It can still beat many cars in a straight line

These are horrible times considering the last gen numbers, non si x gen civics are quicker than this by nearly a full second
You aren't getting a second faster on a non si civic💀 It's called a real world test. If this was a prepped surface and I subtracted the 0.3s 1ft rollout, I'd be in the mid 6s. The Civic 1.5t CVT did similar times as here in my testing
@@DMCarReviews check out one of the first videos I did when slowed down frame by frame 0-60 came in at around 6.75 that’s when I was stock even MT and C&D both had similar times of 6.8
@@chrismcclure6438 Frame videos are not accurate. The speedometers always have a little discrepancy. That's why I measure by GPS... Measuring like that I'll get high 6s here too, lol!
@@DMCarReviews what I did nearly matched with others have achieved and if not was off by .05-.1 seconds at most. The x gen 1.5 accords would also be quicker at 7.6 0-60. Overall Honda did a horrible job in terms of performance when it came to the newest generation of civics the only one that saw any sort of improvement was the fl5 over the fk8

The fact this car is close if not over 30k for a 1.5 LOL and the features they ripped off to promote Acura is a joke. Fun gas efficient 6 speed to drive by no means fast or even quick but for 30k. Cmon.
