Lmaooo me too bro. Been driving a manual for a year now. Learned it on the 23 civic si as well. And i will say, itll come naturally. Sometimes I forgot i even shifted.
I did the exact same thing, brother. Watched videos, ordered the car, watched videos, received the car, watched videos, drove the car, watched videos, drove the car more often lol 22,000 miles later.. still loving it. I’m still watching videos every so often, just for my own comparisons.
exactly what I did with my 9th gen si almost a year ago, watched a couple videos and learned manual off the lot as well. MAN the amount of times i stalled and panicked LMFAO. Now ive improved a lot and its actually so fun to drive manual frfr
just got my 2023 civic si last week and its an amazing car to learn manual in. The clutch bites towards the end which is kinda different. Learning manual with this car has been not as stressful than some manual cars!
Your video is soo much soothing Keep up the good work Iam 15and want to drive a manual soo much Iam obsessed with your surrounding greenery too Love you❤❤
I was fortunate that my dad had a manual Mazda pickup to teach me on when I was 15. Most Americans now have no access to a manual car to learn on because they’ve become so rare. It does feel like you have a skill few people have. I test drove a Civic Si and the salesman had me pull it out and park it again because he couldn’t drive it.
Been driving my FL5 since November so why am I watching this? Idk....fellow Honda drivers just seem chill for the most part🤣 Good Job with the video! You explained it very nicely!
I recently learned this year how to drive manual but don’t have a vehicle to practice on. Looking at the SI to purchase and will be test driving soon. I just hope I’ll be fine on an incline which was what I struggled with before. This car checks a lot of boxes for me, I’m just scared to actually purchase it to learn on lol
i watched both of your videos i’m 17 just got a 2024 SI only has 100 miles on it 😂 love the car it’s my first stick shift i was in some traffic and stalled 2😂 but im leading quick…any advice
Balance the clutch pedal release grabbing point with the accelerator pedal engagement to make it as smooth as possible, you don't want too many revs as you are releasing the clutch while you also don't want to give too little revs or too late of a revs as you are releasing the clutch which can chatter it. Also when you release the clutch pedal after changing gears don't release too fast specially in second gear which causes a jerking motion.
@@abraham3981genuine question sir, what do you mean by “chatter it”. I always give it revs while releasing the clutch pedal when i take off on first gear and when going on reverse is that bad for the clutch/engine or the car in general?? Only been driving manual for a year and dont really know anything about cars like that
One thing I was never told while owning my first manual is you're gonna feel like you're hurting the car. Having some mechanical sympathy is a good way to learn from your mistakes so you become a better driver faster.
You got this bro. You are not the only one. Ive been driving a manual transmission for a year now, the first time I got the car I stalled it 3 times at the dealership and everybody was looking at me lmaooo. Give it time, be patient, practice and most importantly be safe. Good luck brother🤝🏾🤙🏽
I currently own an 11th gen SI, and I happy to have it, but I have tried to start... I do try to lift off the clutch slowly, and I give enough throttle to about 2000... However the car kangaroos into gear, but eventually relents. I do try to give a bit more throttle to help alleviate the slow start, but it lugs. I also started to smell the clutch after about 20 minutes... Is there something I am missing? Like people tend to learn really quick, but I seem to not know what the secret is... Yes, practising is the secret, but like I said, the clutch started to smell.
If you’re coming to a stop while you’re in third gear do you brake then clutch and neutral or what? Or if you’re in a higher gear like 5th and you’re coming to a stop do you brake then after clutch in and go into neutral or do you do it at the same time.. idk I might sound stupid rn
Going to test drive basically this exact car, a ‘24 black civic sport manual, later today. Will be my first manual learning experience, decen definitely watching videos up till I still in the dealer lmao Great video!! Thank you :)
100 subs video coming out soon 🎉, thank you guys for the support I love all of you!!! ❤
@lalalal8111 don't need to remind me I'm in tears I wish
I have been driving manual for a few months now, I just watched this to make sure I was doing it right 😭
hahaha, glad i could help.

Yeah that’s good, I learned from my pops as well
It’s really as simple as listening to your car. It’ll tell you when to shift.
Good video, and love the car! Just got a manual Miata a week ago and I'm gradually getting better.
i don’t know how to drive manual but i have the confidence to drive manual now thank to you i really appreciate it
Glad I could help man
Outstanding manual transmission in the SI. I have been driving MTs for many years and in my opinion, the civic has one of the best ones out there.
great video bro, helped a lot. Also great car, Civic SI is awesome
Absolutely bro anytime
@@Yeidisson11thgensi Hey man I've been considering buying a black si 11th gen just really curious how much you paid out the door. Nice video

No problem 👍

Good Job with the video! You explained it very nicely!
Right on!! Thank you appreciate it, all love with Honda
You can use your left foot to brake as well when your more advanced getting into circuit driving
The clutch is super easy and forgiving, if you try the new Subaru WRX it’s a bit heavier and a bit tricky if you’re new.

Great video man, i would love to see more content with the Si
Currently I can't even get it out the parking lot 😂😂😂😂
Practice, you don't want to stall in the middle of making a left turn at the stop light with incoming traffic.

you can always use hand to clutch
Why did I see the steering wheel wobble around 0:44?
Steering assist took over,I was going off the road
The car rec matches on its own
Yeah if you want it too, but I like to do it myself
You never sat or rode in a manual car? How old are you? Glad you found stick and wanted to learn not too many people even want to learn anymore
I’m 20 and no this is my first
hows the rev hang on the si

Release the clutch after shifting don’t rest your foot on the clutcg
@@Yeidisson11thgensi Thank you for the tip, mate. :)

Florida, what part?
Tampa
Can you tell me where you got the carbon trim from
Amazon
Do I need to brake or just use the clutch in heavy traffic when traffic is moving at 2-7 mph?
Just be in first and focus on your clutch
I thought this generation si had rev matching?
It does. But you can turn it on or off depending on if you like to do it manually.
If you’re coming to a stop while you’re in third gear do you brake then clutch and neutral or what? Or if you’re in a higher gear like 5th and you’re coming to a stop do you brake then after clutch in and go into neutral or do you do it at the same time.. idk I might sound stupid rn
Go into neutral start from bottom up again
Sick car
Lesson number 1 and the only one, real drivers drives manual gear box
Do you have to put it back in neutral if u stall? It’s already in first when I stall could I just start it in first and drive away?
correct. you don't have to put it in neutral. cluch in and restart.
You would have to clutch in in order to start the car in a gear, so if you stall in first gear clutch in start the car and start from square one
I did exactly that in my 8th gen I said why is it idling so low oh shit I took off in third
By a chance do you have remote start on this car?
No it is a manual you cannot.
More videos 😭😭
Need more help on down shifting
I'm relatively new but what works for me is tapping the gas before down shifting so the car doesnt jerk and go low rpms.
@@Vortex45211 so you clutch tap the gas down shift then let go of the clutch ?

Yeah bro the 11th gen has rev matching. You're doing all that blips for no reason
