11-5 and missing the playoffs
Now that the playoffs are at 7 teams per conference, I highly doubt we see an 11-win team miss the postseason again
Well that would only happen to the Jets if they are ever good again
I think the 2005 chiefs went 11 and 5 and missed the playoffs also
@@erocs9747 they went 10-6, I think.
The Ravens right now can go 11-5 and miss the playoffs or the dolphins
Missing the playoffs at 11-5 is crazy.
The time that Matt Cassel almost propelled the patriots into the playoffs. He played really well in this game!!
Went 11-5 and couldn't get them in
the Jacksonville Patriots
This pretty much showed how dominant the Pats were for so long
And this game ignited the "should the Patriots trade Brady" nonsense to an insane level. "Look guys, Cassel can run! He's mobile!"
The time Captain Jack Sparrow almost escaped
Man missing the playoffs with a 11-5 record is crazy to me. There's been teams that have had 1st round bye weeks with a 11-5 record
The patriots had a bye with 11-5 back in the 2018-2019 playoffs lmfao
it has only happened twice in NFL history, the only other team was the 1985 Broncos
@@VB-be6jj and in 2001.
The saints had a by at 10-6. Seriously.
Edit; yup, in 2006. Saints had a first round bye.
I remember the Steelers had it one year I think in bill cowher’s first year
Back when the Jets could actually win games.
IKR LOL

"First place" and "jets vs patriots" doesn't sound right
Tonight its for first place in the draft LMAO
@@johnc2645 lmao that's a good one
@Jonathan Dee The One And Only amen
I hope the pats do tank. Gotta get the next franchise quarterback.
@@mshat18 yeah they need it
Man if Brett Favre didn't get hurt that Jets team was AFC Championship bound
That seahawks loss had no excuse even if it was holmgrens last game in seattle
@@erocs9747 it was a torn bicep of Favre. He couldnt throw without feeling insane amount of pain
You can thank Mike Tannenbaum and Eric Mangini for that shit.
Ne done beat them earlier in year pats where robbed cassel would have been afc championship at least but most likely superbowl Champs best coach out coaching all other coaches a mangini ran ball club would have never went to afc championship "EVER"!
He played while hurt.
Should said something.
Nope, just blew it for us.
Jets started this season 8-3. Between that and the drubbing against the Cardinals earlier in the year, it looked like the best Jets team in years. Maybe even the best team since the days of Bill Parcells
And then... they choked it away
@Jersey13 FOOTBALL nah, they had a great o-line that year, the patriots just had a great defense
@@itbelikethat6579 seems like we’re the kings of that here in New York. I’ll never forget the jets’ 2011 end of the season collapse, along with their 2015 week 17 collapse against the Rex Ryan bills. Hopefully joe Douglas and bob saleh can turn that around
No, Brett Favre hurt his shoulder. There was no choke.
They had an old injured QB....🤷♂️
@@workct4102 basically another version of aaron rodgers
Jets fighting for a playoff spot.....This is how we know we are in a new era.
not a jets fan, definitely not a patriots fan, but that era of football was so much fun to watch
@@StoobyLivehad a perfect chance this year if hall didn’t get injured and zack wilson knew how to throw a football.
I will NEVER forget that Cotchery catch that was classic
The fact that they really did everything to take Randy Moss away,I don’t ever want to hear Randy wasn’t a good teammate cause he wasn’t even getting looked at from Cassel and he was still cheering his team on,blocking and being active
Dude was a pretty bad teammate. You could tell when he didn't feel like playing because he would jog around and give zero effort. He was also known to pout when he didn't get his way.
I’m wish it was Brady vs Favre that season.
Man the current Jets uniforms make me miss these old Jets uniforms. And I used to think these old uniforms were a bit bland and generic.
What? The new uniforms and helmets are awesome. Easily top ten in the league.
@@ladistar I think the Green is too saturated and the logo is not good just being “NY Jets” inside of a oval.
And after the 54-13 beatdown in 2021, the Jets STILL haven't won a regular season game in Foxboro since this day.
I remember watching this game. That td to Moss with one second left was magical. So sad to lose in OT on a fg uff
Sad we started out 8-3 then farve bicep went to hell had a true super bowl team that year and look at shefty on nfl network
@Tony Preston really with Indianapolis in the fold
This title is ironic, because none of them got first place in their division hahaha
Further more, both teams spent January 2009 on the sofa.
@@northstarpokeshipper2148imagine being 11-5 and still being on the sofa💀😂
This title caught me off guard
Crazy that every team in the AFC East was above .500 through 9 weeks
Now it's the same thing, but through 11 weeks!
Damn, kind of sucks that we didn't get to see Favre vs Brady here.
Do you know why Brady couldn’t play this game ?
All this does is show me that the Jets need Brett Farve again
Idk about now if they get second round pick get fields
2008: Brett Favre leaves Packers for the Jets only to join Minnesota next year.
2023: Arron Rodgers gets traded to the Jets for draft picks for the Packers and.........?
I remember watching this live fully expecting the Jets to go on to the Super Bowl at least.
Up until the titans game
Kris Jenkins was really underrated, dude was ragdolling dudes all game in the run and pass game
When healthy
It's crazy how you get a QB you know can win and how it changes your whole teams confidence.
Schefter as a sideline reporter... speaking of things that the world forgot.
Kris Jenkins was a beast, him and nick Mangold must of had some legendary practice battles where Jenkins was as good against the run as any defensive tackle in the league and could rush the passer
I watched this game live and it was so exciting
Hi I love your videos
I can’t be the only one watching this instead of the game tonight playing right now
The Patriots would have won the AFC East again if they won this game.
With a qb who never started in college cause he was stuck behind matt lienart a heisman
Funny seeing ty law on the jets for the 2nd time in his career then the next year on mcdaniels broncos team
i didnt know that the titan's head coach Mike Vrabel played for the pats
7:34 so before Polomalu made that one handed grab, before Antonio Cromartie made a one handed and waaay before Beckham made that sicking TD catch in 2014, here is the underrated player for the Jets to make this sickening move.
7:09 is one of the best catches I’ve ever seen. Cotchery caught it one-handed against his helmet and the CB got called for a PI. Glad to see this catch again in nice quality
Former steelers great lmao
The last time pats and jets were winning. Remember those times
Pats have 3 super bowl wins since then but okay.
They will survive but at this time back then cam newton wasnt even at auburn yet
just makes me miss old #4
Randy Moss was wide open almost every play shown
that amazing play by cassel and moss to send it to OT only to leave a man wide open on 3rd and 15
Next should be 2016 Wk 8 Bears vs Vikings
The Monday Night Massacre from Halloween Night! 😱
No one remembers that game because the cubs being in the World Series was all anyone was talking about
@@rileyfreeman7122 True
I been waiting for this one for awhile. I actually thought that with this one the Jets were going to win the Super Bowl. LOL.
That inexcusable seahawks loss
Amazing accuracy by Cassel
Must have learned well at usc
Oh yeah. Those days where Brett Favre was on the Jets, Brady was injured and Casell was the QB and of course, Adam Schefter was on NFL Network
And Ben Watson was a young te
Leon Washington is so underrated
If that game has OT like the one today, Jets would not have won a game. Kicking a field on the first drive to start the OT would mean Patriots have a chance to extend the game or even win the game by scoring a touchdown. That will be crazy!
Mangini was hella underrated with the Jets.He drafted and built a ridiculously talented roster which Rex Ryan used later to have success.
06 with Mangini hey go 10-6 and make playoffs to play Patriots
07 they 4-12 but after game 7 Chad Pennington gets hurt
08 They start 8-3 with a pro bowl level Favre and then he tears his right bicep and they end up 9-7
Mangini did a solid job with the Jets in my opinion
I will forever love Matt Cassel for that 2008 season
Most underrated agregiously robbed patriots team in history if they would have put ne in playoffs instead of sorry ass fins instead belicheck would have another superbowl ring on top of all others
@@nymsnot_your_mommaz_stream5683LMAO. Youre on some serious heavy drugs if you think the " 2008 Patriots " were going to defeat the 2008 Pittsburgh Steelers with Matt Cassell
@@yaahlabanyamyan144 None of their corners could stop Moss or Welker. If Brad Johnson could win a SB with talented receivers and a good run game, Cassel can too.
Great game Patroits went 11-5 and still missed the playoffs their division was good in 08.
Really bugs me how the 2008 Patriots went 11-5 and still missed the playoffs
weird how Matt Cassell didn't start a single game in college ....
Niners sounding like the 2008 patriots 😂
this jets team reminds me a lot of aarons jets team this year like bro so many similarties
MOSSED IT 🔥
Monday’s game for NFL week 9 2020 was “battle for last place”
Until the last play of regulation I was thinking Cassell had issues with Moss. I mean, when you have the G.O.A.T. out there and you ain't even looking his for most of the game, something is wrong!!!
Mangini was very underrated with the Jets.He built an isnane roster via draft.
Unfortunately in 07 Pennington got hurt and they went 4-12
08 Favre tore his bicep and they after starting 8-3 ended up 9-7
06 made playoffs after going 10-6
After witnessing the single greatest QB performance of all time with Brady the season before, Cassel’s performance felt a lot more mediocre/average than it really was.. Which was truthfully a solid season all things considered. A lot of fans were really harsh on him, mainly because he wasn’t Tom Brady. Up until he was thrust into a starting role in week 2 of the 2008 season, Cassel hadn’t started a football game since his senior year of high school. Had we made the playoffs that season, he would’ve been a pretty big reason why.
What happened to him? I don't get it. Maybe if he stays with Belichick he has a great career as a starter (in a world without TB)?
If only Favre didn't get hurt...he might've retired a Jet. Jets might even win a ring or two
4363 days since my jets one in Foxbough Massachusetts
Damnyum
We should've had Farve vs Brady that year.
Post the 2010 11 divisional round between the Jets and the pats that was the Bart Scott can’t wait game
Even though Cassel made a pro bowl with the chiefs, I still can’t believe Kansas City gave up a second round pick for him. Especially since Todd Haley hated him too
Brett Favre had a good game against the New England Patriots!!! Let's go Jets!!! J e t s Jets Jets Jets!!! I love the New York Jets!!! I 🖤 #4!!! I love Brett Favre!!!
The AFC east that year looked like the NFC west of 2020
this game hurts because if the pats win this game they get into the playoffs because 11 wins wasnt enough because of the stinking 8-8 chargers
Wrong they went that year and lost in the superbowl too the giants they where the 5th seed out of the 6 teams too go
@@franklingillum2549 What r u talking about, they missed the playoffs this year. it was steelers and cardinals in the SB
Does it feel like Cassel and Moss were trying to impersonate Eli Manning and David Tyree at the end of regulation?
THIS WAS INTERESTING........
Two rivals are going to play tonight
When tom brady was injured
@Adam Castagnetti he still doesn’t
As a bears fan you should put are 2013 match-up against the vikings. Week 2
Bear Down
Man that Jets defense had so many holes
The year Bob Papa succeeded Bryant Gumbel on NFL Network games
It’s funny cuz the Dolphins ended up winning that division that year
The equal to the season of the 08 patriots is when you have a game that you play and you have an op account and then you give your phone to your little brother so he can ply and he has all your op people now
In this season Brady is the older brother
The patriots QB is the little brother
The game or the account is the whole other team which is basically the 07 patriots
2002, 2008 and 2020 were the rare moments that the patriots ever had a bad season with belichick.
@Jonathan Dee The One And Only yeah with most of the players opting out cause of the covid and all.
@Tony Preston we missed the playoffs with that record.
@@1990Thunderbolt But you're still a patriots fan no matter what until the end right?
2008 AFC East: Greatest Division Ever. Brett Favre's Jets go to overtime against Matt Cassel's Patriots for a shot at the division, only for Mr Comeback Player Of The Year himself Chad Pennington to seize it with the "wildcat" Dolphins.
Oh, and Ty Law is a Jet (again), because why not?
Oh how the tables have turned 😏
Cassel got PAID
Classic matchup. Favre vs the Patriots. So which one of them ended up winning the division?
*Miami*
Didn't the dolphins win the divison that year
Yes haha
The Chad Pennington Dolphins at that
Nice pfp, even if it doesn’t match your name
The Jets signed cj Mosley away from Ravens after 2018 season so that means he's their second player with that name because Ravens drafted cj Mosley in 2014
Jets vs Patriots battle for first place when neither of these teams finished in first in 2008
All that for the fins to win the division anyways
Cause they had the big tuna the franchise whisperer
Ah yes, 2008. The 2nd of only 2 seasons where the Patriots did not win the AFC East because Tom Brady went down with a torn ACL week one. That 2008 Patriots team was something else though. Going 11-5 with Cassel wasn't an easy feat, but it showed that the Patriots were at least capable of surviving without Tom Brady. Even without him at QB, that offense was still absolutely loaded.
It just feels like one of those 'What could have been?' type of seasons. New England might have gone undefeated again had Brady not gotten hurt. Same team as 2007 with an even weaker schedule. Oh well.
That team goes at least 13-3. Only Indy I wouldn't put money on them winning. They beat the Phins and Chargers no question and probably beat Pittsburgh just cause it's in Foxborough and it's Mike Tomlin.
Patriots went 11-5 this season and somehow still missed the playoffs
After this season Matt Cassell got big money from the Chiefs to be their starting quarterback. Wasn't as good as Alex Smith or Patrick Mahomes.
Easy to forget Favre's time with the Jets...
Jets last regular season win at foxboro
Wait, how did the jets kick a field goal to win the game, because the pats never got a drive in OT
the rules changed recently so that both teams get a drive
Patriots all day!
Even if Pats would've made the playoffs they would have gotten crushed by the that legendary 08 Steelers defense
I'd like to remind people that in the 21st century, the Pats are 3-0 vs the Steelers in the playoffs with two of those wins at Heinz Field. No Brady? No problem.
Back when Brett Favre was playing for the Jets and Matt Cassel was playing for the injured Tom Brady
The Last Time the Jets beat the Patriots in Foxborough during the Regular Season.
That moment you hear the name CJ Mosley 😳. You’re confused. It’s ok. I was too..
This was when the dolphins won the division at 11-5 and the pats couldn’t take a wild card spot at 11-5
Hard believe neither of these teams madd the playoffs
I was there.
I forgot Favre played for ny
Impossible to forget lmao
If brady was the qb of this game this is an easy win, pats woulda dropped 40+, cassell missed some throws that messed up drives that brady wouldnt, but matt played good tho dont get me wrong cant hold him to the 🐐s standards
The funny thing is neither the jets or patriots won the division that year the dolphins did
Fast forward to 2020 season and five teams didn't make it with an 11-5 record.
I think Jets and first place doesn't belong in the same sentence, like ever
Lol
Jaguars vs texans 2009 please
Lmaoo it was our last regular season win in new England smh loll 😂
